emoticon MAIA1369 and emoticon to SparkPeople and the team...Nice to have you with us on the journey to a healthier lifestyle and I wish you much success reaching your goals.

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.

Mistakes are the portals of discovery.

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

Thanks for the advice! Also, silly question, but where can I find one of those bars that updates your weight loss that I see at the bottom of people's posts? Thanks again for the welcome!

Hello and welcome to the team. We are glad that you've joined our group. We are very friendly and caring, and we are here for you.

Get acquainted with the site, and get started on the 'baby steps' on the journey to better health and fitness. Do not rely so much on the scales because even when one does not see an immediate weight loss, by making the 'lifestyle changes' suggested by SparkPeople, all sorts of good things begin to go on INSIDE our bodies.

So hang in there, and do not give up. Sparks suggests 1) Drinking 8 glasses of water daily, 2) Exercising several times each week, and 3) Cutting back on calories by eating healthy foods. Once those 'baby steps' become 'habits' in our daily routines...we begin to feel better.

Many of our members have written success stories about their amazing weight loss by following the SparkProgram. I hope it will work for you, also. Take care, and keep in touch with the team.

HUGS

I am currently a 230 pound female looking to lose over 50 pounds. I recently walked a half marathon with Team in Training and managed through 100 miles of training to GAIN five pounds. I am at my wit's end but I have heard that others have had success through online communities. I love my friends, family, and husband. I do enjoy walking and being outside as well as inside at the movies. I struggle with a medical disorder that requires medication which does not help weight loss. I look forward to meeting all of you!
