this is a hard one for me as well because I mainly rent, not go to theaters.

However, I do LOVE Zombieland and many of the ones Janet & sela listed.

I finally saw Avatar... Wow. beautiful movie!
I have seen Moon and it's a good one too.

Unfortunatly there wasn't much along the original idea trail in 09, so I will really have to think on this one. Trick R Treat was decent, My Bloody Valentine pales in comparison to the orig. but it did have Jensen Ackles so that was forgivable. Not sure if New Moon would count as true horror but really liked that one a lot. The Unborn, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, The Burrowers, and Saw VI were all pretty good. Clive Barker's Book of Blood and Pascal Laugier's Martyr's was awsome so I guess I will go with both of those as favs.

I have to add one -- not a horror but I would have to put Moon on this list. Such a great movie! Recommend it if you haven't seen it!

Didn't love anything much in 2009. Trick R Treat was cool, pretty brutal. This years been better so far. The Crazies was awesome.& the Wolfman.

I saw Zombieland online and it was a really bad copy of it and really couldn't follow it very well but I'd really like to see a good copy. I want to see Wolfman as well. But the one that I have seen was Pandorum I thought was really good. There was one more that I saw that was pretty good it was called Grace. I think it went right to movie. But it was pretty good.

I'd have to go with Zombieland, just because it's the only movie I really went out to the theater to see. I usually wait for the DVDs.

Rarely do I get to the theatre, so it's hard to say!

When I see one on DVD, it's hard to place what year! Oh, God, I am old!

I know for 2010, it will be super hard to find one better than the Wolfman! I am drawing a blank for 09!

What was your favorite horror film that came out in 2009?
I would have to go with Zombieland
