Hello everyone.
My computer is so slow tonight. Drives my crazy. I was trying to journal my food and then my battery was dying. So this will probably be quick.

Aly thanks for the link. I will check it out.

I did get my walk in last night and 2 today. We are having a heat wave here. 30 degrees. So I was very sweaty. lol

I am going to head back to my 6am aquafit class tmo. It will be good to see the gang again.

Night all.

Hi everyone.

Just finished tracking my food and I went 10cals over the low end of my required calories. Done for the night. Except for water.

Good job on signing up the the virtual 5K. Can someone fill me in on what that is.

The fall classes have now resumed at the Y I go to, so time to get back in there. I had my alarm set for 5:45 this morning to go for a walk and shut it off and slept for another hour. I will go out right away and get a good walk in.

Have a great evening.

I signed up for the virtual, but think I am skipping the outside one. Mainly because we are going to a concert the night before (Lord of the Rings Cycle). It starts at around 8, and he said we probably won't be home until around 12-1. That puts us getting up at 5 to leave at 6ish to get there in time to get all the stuff for the race. Not sure I will be able to run on 4 hours of sleep or so. I will be hutning another one for this year though!

I'm doing the virtual 5K! I'm excited. I did the C25K training and ran 2 5Ks in July and can't wait to get out there and do another one - hopefully with much much cooler temperatures!

Happy Wednesday!!!

Good morning everyone! Woo hoo I just signed up for the virtual 5k for Oct-Nov 5th. I did the 5k in our home town for the 4th of July with my son. Talk about feeling misserable. I had been running for three years and I did terrible. I am still happy that I finished. My son did a wonderful job. I see a long disance runner in the future there. So very proud of him. Our high school cross country team will be happy to get him next year when he graduates from Jr. High. Soo, my training day starts today! Anyone else going to do the virtual 5k? Good luck if you are. Have a great wednesday everyone!

This journey will only take me as far as I allow it!

Hi everyone.

I too am glad that I will be back to a routine. As much as I hate to see summer coming to an end, my waistline can't handle it any longer.

I got back on the wagon today. Went for 2 walks, ate healthy and drank all my water. I actually went under on my calories but it is too late to eat something now. I try not to eat after 7:30.

JL good job on the walk. That will be an amazing feeling to accomplish that.

Phoenix, welcome to the team. I'm sure you will feel welcome here. It's a great group.

Ally, I too think you should do the 5K. It is a great feeling.

Mare, that is great that you go walking with your son for recess. Hopefully he will recover soon. Poor guy.

Vicklet and Ivy great to see you back.

Tashan, I went to a wedding but other than that it was pretty much the same as you. It really needed to be done since that stuff gets put on the back burner during summer.

Oy, I know that I have forgot people. Is there an easier way to do this. My memory fails me. lol How do you guys remember everyone? Sorry if I forgot you.

I tracked my food and it looks like they have made it easier and less time consuming. I think I always quit tracking because it seems to take me forever.

*I went back and edited to get everyone. I hate for people to be left out.*

Good night. emoticon

JL - Congrats on doing the 3 day!!! I trained for it once, but didn't raise enough money to actually complete the 3 day! But it was great exercise and I plan on trying it again one day. Good luck!!!!

Phoenix - Welcome! I LOVE turbo jam. I am getting turbo fire soon! I asked for it for christmas, but my bf can never wait so I will probably get it sooner (yay!). Congrats on making it to the next level!

Alley - Great work with the C25K! I'd say go for it with the local 5K because even if you walk some of it, it's a great thing to accomplish!

Sounds like everyone else is going great! Have an awesome Tuesday!!

Wow. Lots of people doing runs. You guys rock! I have not even put that as my goal yet. Kids are off to school today. First time all 4 of mine are all there every day! Starting tomorrow I am going to do an hour Zumba class twice a week. Also a couple weeks ago my 6 year old fell and acquired a brain injury and cannot participate in recess. So to keep us both active I am going to his school every day and walking with him during his recess. I too am happy for routine to return.
Have a happy Tuesday my friends!

So, I have been a bit MIA for awhile. Summer is/has wound down & now the kids start school tomorrow. As much as I like summer I really like the routine that the school year provides too. I have started training for a 5K the 2nd weekend in Oct. My goal for it is to simply jog the whole way.

Welcoem phoenix!

I start week 3 of C25K this week! Tomorrow will be first day of week 3! I havent made it this far as of yet. Someone has posted in my CA teams that there is a 5k On October 23rd. I may go ahead and get us signed up for that, it would be my first one outside and timed and such. I am signed up for the Virtual 5k, this would be a nice test to see if I could do it outside also!

Hope everyone is doing well!

SHELOG--I'm training for the 3-Day for the Cure 60 mile walk in November to raise money for breast cancer research. It's 20 miles a day for 3 days. This is my first year and I'm walking in memory of my mom who passed away last fall and in my grandma's honor. Grandma is still going strong. My mom & grandma were both breast cancer survivors. I have 3 daughters too which helps keep me passionate about this cause!

Phoenix--Welcome to the team! I love Turbo Jam and want to get Turbo Fire once my injury is healed completely. I would love to hear more about it. I've heard it's pretty intense!

Hi Everyone :)
I just wanted to pop in - I'm new here (not quite 30 but I don't feel like I have much in common with the 20 somethings board anymore..).

I thought I'd start with something positive - I've started a new round of Turbo Fire! I completed the prep schedule and now I'm going full on with the 20 week HIIT schedule. I'm pretty excited! emoticon

I MIGHT NOT BE THAT GIRL TODAY - BUT I CAN BECOME HER AGAIN!

My physical therapist is awesome! I love her. She has done the 60 mile walk that I'm training for and she was so supportive! She even gave me a donation. I was so surprised! She also gave me a bunch of stretches and strength exercises for my ankles, legs, and glutes to do in addition to my walking and swimming. My ankle is feeling tired, but good tonight.

CARRIELOU--Great job with your personal trainer! Woohoo!

Hello everyone. You are all doing so well. I am enjoying reading your stories. I am still not back on track but will be very soon. Once the kids are back in school and I am back in a routine. I PROMISE!! lol They go back to school on Wednesday.

I can't believe it is September 1 already. That summer flew by. We park our camper in a campground for a month and then commute to work from there. It was fun and relaxing. The weather was perfect. We also went to Minneapolis for a few days and went to Valley Fair and to a Twins game. Had an awesome time there too.

Have a good night all and keep up the great work.

Good morning! I got my cast off yesterday and an ankle brace on. I walked 2 miles today. Tomorrow I start physical therapy. I'm down 2.4 lbs from last week too. So I'm feeling happy today!

I have been to gym every day this week.. even walked a 5K yesterday.. feeling better. I may have to take the anxiety meds my doc keeps pushing on me.. I was a tad short of breath today.. but my heart rate was 94 at 3.2 m.p.h... If I stop and focus on breathing.. I can breathe deeply.. so it may be in my head. I keep waiting to fall over dead. Today I leg pressed 360 lbs, and while my legs are trembly, I am breathing fine.

I have 2 doctors visits.. one tomorrow morning with the pacemaker doctor, and my regular doctor next Tuesday. I will be fine.

Hey all! I haven't checked in with you guys in such a long time (sorry!). How is everyone doing? I've been doing pretty good - joined WW and it seems to be working well for me, so I'm hoping that after the initial 10weeks they will extend it because it's so much easier going at work than trying to find a meeting at home to get to (sat at 8am? really?).

As for the evening workout schedule, I used to eat something small before I left work, then went to the gym, then came home and ate a very small dinner. It was almost like I was splitting dinner into 2 parts. My schedule has since changed and I'm a morning person now, but its just a suggestion.

Have a great Wednesday everyone emoticon

I usually eat dinner, clean the kitchen and while one of my shows are on the television i work out, or hop on the Kinect for a Cardio workout. Its really just trying it out and tweaking it as you go along until you find what fits your lifestyle. If you eat before you might have more energy as long as it has protien and some carbs, or you can work out and have a small dinner afterwards. I mix in Special K bars and shakes when i cant get a decent meal.

I am not much of a morning person. Any thoughts on how to make an evening exercise schedule stick? I typically work from 9 am to 7pm, sometimes later. So far I had an idea that maybe I would start trying to bring my work out clothes to work and go straight to the gym or the park from work. But then I would be eating dinner extremely late....

I was short of breath this morning.. still went to gym, and breathing got better. I wonder if it is anxiety. My brother has a foot that is hurting, and it worries me.. he has diabetes, and CHF like me.. so I start running scenarios in my mind.

A month of camping.. I remember the trips our parents took us on as kids. Best way to see America. Must have been awesome Shelog

I cleaned, and then cleaned some more! I will still be cleaning today!! It is mainly sorting stuff though. WE moved to a one bedroom apartment and I had originally lived in a 2 bedroom by myself back in Indiana. Sorting and condensing stinks big time! Just for the record!

Hello everyone. We brought our camper home from our month long camping adventure so I am one step closer to being back into my routine.

I am glad to see so many people posting here.

I like pop music the best. Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Adele, Bruno Mars. I too like anything that makes me want to keep running. I've also got some eminem and ac/dc on my ipod.

Keep up the great work everyone.

I love country also, but I cannot get a station in out here in the bay area to save my life! (Once I have a job, seriously looking into XM radio) I will listen to everything though. My guy is a classical musician, and listens to rock, and stuff like Great Big Sea, to Sonata Arctica, to Apocolyptica, so I am growing accustomed to hearing that a lot.

Russell i am on the same page. If it has a great beat to it i like it. For example the Song (Rap) Like a G6, the song its self is HORRIBLE but the beat that goes to it is great.

I love country music, but it sucks right now, too much tractor love and such. So I am listening to more "pop".. I love the song " Rhythm of love" by Plain White T's.... and Bruno Mars, Adele, and Jason Mraz are favorites.. I love Train too...basically anything that sounds bouncy, upbeat, or different.

Hey everyone! This is my first post as I'm just learning how to use everything. I'm glad to be here and am enjoying reading all of your posts. So far, I'm doing well and staying motivated. I like to listen to all kinds of music with the exception of rap and heavy metal.

Question what kind of music do you all like? whos your favorite artist or artists?

I like all kinds of music except heavy metal and hard rock. If its danceable, chances are i will like it. My current favorite artist is Bruno Mars. hes very talented and sexy, not to mention he reminds me of a younger version of my guy. emoticon

Thanks Jenny, i do have staris so i will just climb them a few or more times. LOL. Dancing counts as cardio? i will do that too, we watch too much T.V. anyway we need the radio more. LOL!!

Irene isnt going to hit FL but we are getting rain and winds and im sure there is going to be flooding. We usually walk to the park and back while the little rides her bike but today impossible. so i will keep my ankle weights on and climb those stairs! YEAH. Im pretty pumped about losing weight.

Tasha--Sending calm, safe vibes to you and all those gearing up for Irene! I generally walk outside year round even in the rain (but then we don't have hurricanes here!) and I also have a treadmill. But when I want indoor cardio, I usually do a workout video or game. Are you looking for indoor cardio ideas? Here are a few that you don't need anything special for: jump rope, climbing the stairs, dancing, jumping jacks, step aerobics, running or marching in place, and then there are always free videos on the net!

Welcome back SHELOG and RMDILLEY!!

Morning everyone!! It sure is a Moist Thursday!! Yes, we getting lots and lots of rain here in South Florida, we need it so its good but we could do without the enormous Irene off the coast in the Atlantic.

If you cant go out for a walk and you dont have a treadmill, how do you get your cardio?

Hello all. Remember me. I have been MIA for a while. My proper eating and exercising has also gone MIA!! Dang holidays. I can sure feel it in my clothes. I really need to get this girl back into a routine.

Welcome to all the new team members. I am excited to have you here. I will be here more often, I promise.

Goddess, I laughed when I read that you can walk on a treadmill and play a video game at the same time. Now THAT is multi tasking. I can barely play a video game sitting right in front of the tv. lol You are doing great with your exercise and eating.

Russell you have also done well with your weightloss. Good job.

I am just off to bed but wanted to pop in and say hi and let you know that I am thinking of you and wanting you all to send me your good eating and exercising vibes.

OK I am babbling. Good night.

If you're tired of always starting over, then stop giving up.

Way to go Goddess!! Good choices!

My girls had a party on Monday with brownies and cookies. I was tempted until I thought about it and realized I didn't have my afternoon snack. After eating an apple, the brownies and cookies weren't a temptation anymore!

I went for a walk this morning and I'll swim again later today. What is everyone else doing today?
