Another night of bad sleep, only I actually thought I was sleeping.... After hitting the snooze a few times, I looked at the clock in confusion trying to figure out what time I'm supposed to get out of bed....

Had dinner with my girlfriend and Fazoli's and had a great time chatting. I ended up having a baked spaghetti. I had looked online last night, but not too many healthy options. Even the salads weren't healthy. So, one meal won't hurt..Sent her home with two huge totes full of baby clothes for her daughter to go through. All we asked for in return was to pay it forward by giving them to someone else down the road that would use them.

Tomorrow we are having a catered lunch. They do this once a month and the company pays for half the cost. Tomorrow is sloppy joes. Nice and simple.

It was such a beautiful day. Amazing how much nicer if feels when there is no wind!

Hoping for a better night sleep. Hope all is well!

Michelle

Vicky - Listening to him is good. He will need to talk things out. And hospice will make him more comfortable. The hospice we had for my Dad was wonderful.

Got to bed too late last night. Hubby was watching a documentary about Lance Armstrong. And, he still had to shower, etc.. before bed. I told him this morning I was going to put spousal controls on the TV (rather than parental controls). We didn't get to bed until after 9, and his alarm goes off at 2. I get up at 2:30 to see him off. I go back to bed, but it takes me at least an hour to get warm and fall asleep again. Was so tired today after only 5 hours sleep....

Had a dentist appointment today after work for a cleaning. I think my last cleaning was five years ago....My teeth and gums are sore, but no one to blame but myself. I made my next appointment before I left. Back in August.... Good to have normal Dental Insurance again.

I'm meeting a girlfriend at Fazoli's tomorrow night for dinner. This is the friend who's daughter is having twins. We can chat, and I'll give her all these clothes. But, what am I going to eat that is healthy there?!

Talked to my daughter today, and she sounded good. She had the day off, along with her husband. So, it was low key and it sounded like she did sleep a little.

It was really beautiful today - 50 when I left work in February! My only concern is where is all the water going to go? The ground is too frozen to absorb much. Looks like it will be decent weather all week, but snow on Sunday and Monday.

Heading to bed early. Enjoy your night!

Michelle

Hi everyone! We didn't win trivia, not even close. I think we were 26 out of 31. They were hard questions too. I think first place got 81.

Things aren't going well for my brother. He is going downhill pretty fast. I don't think he'll make it til summer. He finally told his kids what was going on. Hoping my aunt and uncle got through to him about doing hospice today. So lost since there's nothing I can really do to help him except for to listen.

Kathleen - I am so happy to hear about your new revelations! You are doing great!

Had a nice visit at my daughter's yesterday. We celebrated Christmas with my sister. My daughter's house is the halfway point. We have cancelled three times, so I am glad we could do it. Anastasia loved her new presents. Stayed to help my daughter after my sister headed home. We went through all of Anastasia's old clothes and put them in vacuum sealed bags and totes. She is giving them to one of my old coworkers. Her daughter is pregnant with two girls.

She is extremely tired and is not sleeping well at all. Every time she falls asleep to go into the same horrible memory/nightmare. Through her therapy, they have uncovered a memory her mind had buried. She is really having a hard time. While going through the clothes, we came across an old crocheted blanket. It was a memorial blanket she was given when she had her miscarriage while still married to her ex. She knows it would have been a horrible situation, but still mourns the loss of the baby. And with it being tied to that time.....

Drove home last night, and it was raining in Middleton, hit some freezing rain an hour from home, and snow started 2 miles from home. Five minutes after we got home, the roads were covered in snow. We left at exactly the right time!

Had a really lazy morning and didn't even get dressed until 2... Then, we did our shopping, ate dinner out, and finished our weekly chores. Ready for another week.

I lost 3 pounds today. That makes 9 pounds since the 1st. To be honest, I have been following the Weight Watchers plan. I had been struggling for quite some time. After researching the new program when it came out, I decided to try it. The last two times I lost weight successfully, it was through their program. And I also liked how they are pushing fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. Those are foods we should all be eating more of anyway. It is still a matter of healthy choices, and exercise.

Tomorrow will be a busier evening. I have an appointment for a dental cleaning at 4:50, and I haven't been in a while. That might be a longer appointment....LOL

I am learning on this trip to question my beliefs and assumptions. I thought I had to have protein to stay awakeó wrong. I thought I needed caffeine throughout the day to stay awake and not slip down into depressionó wrong. I thought I needed to .... I thought I had to.... I believed.... I feared... WRONG. Even as far back as just thinking about this trip. I truly was ANXIOUS about it and didnít want to come. But it has been wonderful. I really makes me wonder what else I have missed out on in life by living and presuming out of a place of fear.
I want to change this. I want to live fully and enjoy a wide variety of experiences. They are not to be feared if this trip is an example.

Vicky sending prayers for your sister. Have fun at trivia!
Kathleen, glad you are enjoying your visit.
Hello everyone else.

I made it to Curves yesterday. Due to weather, owners' illness and then my schedule I only went 6 times this month. Yikes. I plan on going after work today. I'm still thinking about trying a 7am session one of these days. I usually try to get to work by 8. I could change clothes when I get to work, I'll have to give it some more thought.

Hubby will be working at my parent's farm this weekend. I might see if my mom wants to escape for awhile. She is still not driving since having her surgery. I also need to do some meal prep for next week.

Have a great day everyone :)

Hi everyone!! Just popping in real quick. We are going to play at another trivia tomorrow night. We really love going to play. We never come close to winning but that's ok. It's nice just to hang out with everyone.

Kathleen - you sound so happy and relaxed. Great that you received some good advice!!

Worked a longer shift today - 9 1/4 hours. Some of that was excel training. Got to bed later than i wanted, so I was a little tired today. Glad for a job that keeps me moving and focused.

I found out my sister was back in the ER Tuesday night having trouble breathing. That symptom has not gone away even though the blood clots are gone. They told her she should see a Pulmonary Dr. There was a cancellation, so she got in yesterday. She has pleurisy. They gave her a stronger inhaler. I sure hope it gives her more relief and helps her.

Heading to bed early tonight. Have a good one!

We have one more day and two nights here in Penn Valley CA. Then we're going to a ranch for the weekend about 2 hours south of here. I really have enjoyed the week here. The house and view s are lovely as are the friends who live here.
Yesterday we had breakfast and a4 hour conversation with a judge from Reno NV that is another family friend. Really neat lady. She had some good advice for me putting my life back together.
This week has been fantastic!

Woke up today alert and ready to face the day. Amazed at that fact since I went in early. I'll take it. I'm going to go in early for a bit until I feel the need is not there anymore. Though, I didn't need to today. I had my numbers done an hour before I left. Tomorrow, I will probably work late since I have an excel training. Though, the training sessions are not very good. The notes they give us are worth more than the class.....LOL

Made a southwestern casserole for dinner. It is good, but don't think I'll make it again. Tastes like a spiced up chili mac. I was running low on leftovers and hubby won't eat it. So, it did the job.

It was very cold today. It only got to the 20's, but the sun came out and melted the ice on the driveway. Roads are pretty clear too, except for the shaded areas on back roads.

HI everyone.
Michelle, bummer about the car. Dealers are expensive but that seems like overkill.

We had major rain and flooding. Several roads are under water. A lot of schools had to close today. It's been an eventful winter, that's for sure.

I had several things going on this week and had a couple not so healthy meals. No excuse just reality. I had a nice healthy dinner and I have plans for a healthier tomorrow.

We had an ice storm last night, and it downpours around 4:30 this morning. The temps were freezing so that rain froze. It was a very treacherous drive in to work. The one road I take was pure glass! I drove 25 mph for half the drive. I left 1/2 hour early, and still made it just on time.

Been feeling pretty good this week. I think I have at least 75% of my energy back. I'm tired by the end of the day, and sleep pretty well.

Had an appointment to get my nails painted with gel polish. I haven't had it done in a while and I really like it. I have a nasty habit of picking at my cuticles, and I think twice when my nails are painted....LOL

I am having trouble getting my audit cycle count list finished in eight hours, so I plan to go in a little early tomorrow. If I don't finish it, I enter zeros. But, it bounces back a report on all the numbers that were off. My supervisor has to check on those. I don't like pushing my work onto someone else, if I can help it. I think I would rather go in early than stay later. So, we will see how I do. The overtime will be nice after a week off and car repairs too.

I called the dealership that I have my car serviced at today. I'm just floored that my bill yesterday was $344, when parts were only $97. And it was done in an hour. They charge $120 an hour for labor, and they had two guys work on it. $240 for an hours worth of work! Needless to say, I will be taking my car to a smaller garage since I don't have the warranty anymore....

Morning everyone. Sorry I've been MIA for a bit. Just not feeling the energy it takes to get myself into better shape. I know. Ridiculous right! Not really sure what is going on but all I want to do is eat :(

Finally figured out how to get my phone to work with Spark People. Shortly after that, I set it down in water that someone didn't clean up from the bathroom sink. Fried everything. Should have a new one by the end of the week.

Hope all of you are doing well. Need to take a couple of minutes to read all the post and catch up.

After sleeping the day away on Saturday, I had to run errands and weekly chores yesterday. I wasn't as exhausted so it was pretty easy going. But, noticed while we were out that my car was not heating up as it should. Checked the antifreeze when we go home, and it was empty. Hubby filled it, but I called the service center today to find out why they didn't notice it last Monday when it was in for an oil change.

Called them this morning, and they had me bring it is. The water outlet was bad and was leaking. $350 later..... Ughh.... When it rains, it pours!

Decided to make some sandwiches for lunch this week with a whole grain bread, rotisserie chicken, lettuce, and tomato. I was tired of salads and still didn't have the energy to put into cooking something.

The vet called today to tell me that Medusa's blood pressure was good. I take her back in two weeks for a recheck. She is eating really well too, so other than her eyes, she looks really strong and healthy.

Having an ice storm tonight, so plan on leaving earlier in the morning for work. I would much rather take my time so I don't feel rushed.

Have a good night!

Jeannie, I"m so jealous you're going to Hawaii!!

It was a busy weekend for me. We had girls night at my house Friday night, went to a trivia on Saturday and went dinner at my daughter's work last night. Wednesday we finally sign the loan papers to get our kitchen redone. State Farm has a month long process we had to go through and we had to jump through lots of hoops. I don't remember doing that much work for our house loan!! Just ready to get this going and finished. We'll be stocking up on paper plates, utensils and cups soon. I need to start getting rid of stuff we don't need in the cabinets.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Good morning all.
Got a casserole in the works today for dinner tonight.
Got my food prep done yesterday which will be helpful for the week.
We have my daughter, son in law and our 11 month old baby granddaughter coming to visit and spending the night Wednesday night, which we're so excited about.
So, making sure I will be all set to make healthy eating choices while they are here.

Kathleen it's nice that your family is trying to be supportive in their own way.
Michelle, I hope you are feeling better.
I hope everyone had a nice weekend.

I did a little food prep yesterday. That should make my week go a little smoother. I have a pretty full schedule. I've been trying to avoid the fast food lane on my out of the office days.

I have a dental check up before lunch and curves after work. Such an exciting life..lol

I hope you all have a happy, healthy day!

Things are going well here in CA. I got to see my niece and her husband yesterday. I saw my deceased cousinís partner. We had dinner with my uncleís long long time old friend. Today we travel up north to Hearst Castle. I will post pics on my newsfeed during my trip.

Please pray for us though. My uncle and aunt have been together 42 years. But they have always argued!!! It is very uncomfortable for me. I didnít grow up around that óexcept around themó but not in my house. Also Iím skittish from my abusive relationships. So I have been VERY VERY tense when it is just the three of us. THey tone it to civility when others are around. But they argue about family stuff alone.

The other thing that makes me tense is that they set a plan and it never follows through that way. Like today they would like to leave by 10am. Iím thinking that will be around 2pm if at all. They may decide last minute to wait til tomorrow to get a better hotel rate. But I know even if we go it will not be when they said. Nor will we necessarily go where they said. They always make detours at the last minute, flit here, u-turn there. They have always been this way.
Yesterday we were supposed to go to breakfast and then to my parents graves.

We went to breakfast 2 hours later, then to the bank, then to my cousins house then to a car repair place, then to the tailors, then back home for a last minute business appt that never showed, then they realized a repair man was coming, then we decided to go to the beach for dinner with an old friend.

On the way to his house, they almost detoured to another business appointment without telling the friend and saying he could wait. Then got lost, then decided last minute to go on to dinner. We went to 3 different restaurants before settling on one.

I just sit in the back and keep quiet LOL.

They have a lot of interest in helping me get established but I have several issues that make that difficult. And while they have the resources, I am not comfortable asking. I never have been. So it is hard for me to speak up when they ask how they can help.

Like I need a computer to try to build a website for real not just play at it a couple hours a day on library time. I also need the paid subscription for wordpress. But my head says I should do the best I can with the free site first. Get it set up as I can at the library first. Prove what I can do. SHow them. Pitch my plan, and then ask for support.HMM maybe that is what I will tell them Iíd like to do then see what they say to that.

The website I want to buiild is a Mental Health and Welness website. WIth a multitude of resources beyond blogs... videos, listings and links to resources all over KY, then that region, then the next region...until the nation.. and then internationally. Resources would include employment, health care, prescriptions, lawyers, the police information. Just all kinds of stuff. And also with better site funding I could set up chat forums.

Anyway, I just need to get the guts to lay it out there and not be so scared they will think its foolish. I need self employment due to my mental health issues and also my record that has been severely affected when I was off medication. (See I get that in people who have mental disorders).
Ok I have babbled enough. Itís 5 am. I need to get busy because I want to walk several miles before sitting in a car possibly for 6-10 hours today.

Iíll check in as I have internet access on the road. Check my friend fee now and then for pics.

Food prep day!
We're getting snow, so I will be shoveling soon.
Also doing my walking DVD since walking outdoors is out of the question for me.
Getting a fitbit on thursday, so excited! I've been wanting one awhile.

JEANNIELORANN - ziplining sounds like so much fun. I've always wanted to do that.

Very excited...we just booked a family vacation to Hawaii. All those miles I have been walking will pay off, because there are lava trail etc, on the agenda. My girls(12 &13) and I want to go zip lining over the waterfalls of the big island...I have never been. My husband won t consider it! I have always been too heavy. Now I hope I dont chicken out.

Kathleen - Enjoy your trip in California!!

We had a nice Valentine's dinner last night after getting flowers and a beautiful butterfly plate from hubby!I chose pecan crusted walleye with twice baked potatoes, and steamed green beans. That was the first time I had eaten Walleye, but enjoyed every bite! Came home, and i was in bed by 7. Just a very exhausting week. I slept 12 1/2 hours!

Took Medusa to the vet, and her blood pressure is down and she gained some weight. Such a good visit! This appointment was just with the technician, so the vet will call me on Monday to touch base with me.

I came home, had some lunch and took a nap. Can't believe I'm still tired.... But, I guess I am still recovering from the flu. I had thought about driving down to see my daughter and Anastasia, but glad I decided not to. It's snowing, and obviously my body needs some extra rest.

Happy Saturday! It was a long week and I'm looking forward to a low key day.

Curves was closed Tues-Thurs because the owner was sick. That's the downside of this curves, she has no employees. If it becomes a regular thing I'll have to come up with a new plan.

I followed my eating plan to the letter 5 out of 7 days. I did not plan well for my out of office days. No excuses, just the reality.

I hope everyone has nice weekend.

Hi everyone. Seems like the flu and colds are clearing up. Valentines Day was good for everyone? Week flew by and I forgot to check in via google chrome. Since getting here via app doesnt happen. Down 3.6lbs in 2 weeks.

I am glad tomorrow is Friday. It's just been an exhausting week. I'm looking forward to sleeping past 5 on Saturday morning. I have to take Medusa to the vet for a 10:00 appointment to have her blood pressure checked again, but that is 3 hours later than work....LOL

I don't seem as winded going up the later, and enthusiasm for my job seems better. I am just ready for bed by the time I get home. Today, I took a nap. There wasn't anything pressing and I took advantage of it. I forgot to take my Mucinex yesterday before work, and I seem to have more productive coughs without it. I never did have good luck with that stuff.... Called and made an appointment with my Doctor for next week. My ear is hurting again..... emoticon

Enjoy your night!

Wen, glad to see you still like Curves.

I finally got back on the bike yesterday. Need to make it a regular routine. I'll get there.

Ready for Friday night. It's girls night in. Everyone is coming over to my house and we are just going to sit around and watch a couple of movies. Saturday I get to go play at a trivia. They are so much fun!!

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentines Day! We are celebrating on Friday night after hubby gets home from his week of work out of town.

Met with a girlfriend tonight for dinner. We met at Panera, and had a half sandwich and a cup of soup. Very good. Love their food! My girlfriend's husband has just starting traveling for work, and is having a hard time. I told her it would get easier. It took me six months to adjust after hubby starting traveling. Sleeping at night is the worst, since you hear every noise. Love how we get together more often now. Miss our chats. This is the girlfriend I use to work with every day at the Printing place.

I did very little when I got home. Just threw clothes from the washer into the dryer.... Hoping I wake up better tomorrow morning. I was just exhausted today, and felt so out of it... It got better as the day went on. According to Fitbit I slept 8 hours, but......

Still struggling with energy. Overslept this morning, so rushed around this morning. My supervisor and I were both running a bit slow. He had a procedure to break up kidney stones yesterday. Took it slow again, but those four lever ladders to see parts on the higher racks really wore me out. I was looking for a chair once I got to the top.... emoticon

Ran to the post office this afternoon after work to get a Priority Mail box, only to find out they don't make one big enough for my package. I'll have to find one and mail the extra shipping cost. Came home and took a nap! I was exhausted, and had a headache....

Not as much to do this afternoon, so I will be in bed about an hour earlier. Need to get my sleep!

Hello everyone and a hug to anyone who needs one.

We are finally digging out from the latest round of snow. It was starting to get depressing.

I'm on week 3 of Curves and still liking it. I started eating Paleo again. Trying to get my allergies under control. I am my own worst enemy emoticon

I hope you are all having a great week so far.

Vicky - Trivia night sounds like it was a lot of fun!!

Siviegirl - Meal prep is the only way to go! I've been sick, so I bought a bunch of those prepackaged salads for lunch this week. Need to stay focused!

Made it through the day at work. My energy came in waves. At times, I felt ok - others so very tired. I didn't push myself, and just did what I could. Still trying to cough congestion out of my chest. Still not sure if Mucinex is helping much.....

Had to take the car in for an oil change after work today. Then, there were a few chores to do around the house. I am exhausted and headed to bed early. According to my Fitbit app, I only slept about 5 hours last night. That is about normal for Sundays, but to see it in writing....

It was nice to eat my normal healthy choices again. When I was sick, I didn't put a lot of thought into it - just whatever was easiest.

Good morning!

Today is food prep day for the next few days.
Making egg roll in a bowl, balsamic chicken and cod bites.
My honey will be home the next few days so this is a way I can keep myself on track without making bad choices because my routine is changing.

Happy Monday!

HI everyone!! Hope you all had a great weekend!! Our trivia is over. It was 80s themed. We had a lot of cute table decorations and people dressing up. One of our band moms dressed up as a Kiss band member, make up and all. She looked great!! We received so many compliments on things and we made $1500 more than we did last year!!!! My goal was $6000 and we made it be $100. Now on to the next project.

Spent the day grocery shopping and washing the sheets. Time to rid the house of germs. I still feel very drained and weak, but heading back to work tomorrow. So very thankful that I do not work in production, and can sneak away for a break at my desk when needed.

Anastasia is feeling much better, and we are getting smiles again. She needs extra naps, but so much better!

Went to Walgreens today to get something for this chest like congestion. Just want to cough it out. They suggested Mucinex. I've never had good luck in the past, but I'm trying it again.

Kathleen - How exciting to have your family here from abroad!!

I think I am finally getting over the hump. Today, I just feel like I have a bad chest cold with a scratchy throat. Still not ready to do a lot, but do need to go to the grocery store for more healthier options for food.

So sad to read about the calves. My mother in law has chickens, and has a wire roof over the yard. Hawks will eat them otherwise. Just sad....

Looked into an antennae for the house yesterday, so we can watch local channels. Hubby isn't too thrilled about the old fashioned ones that get mounted on the roof. Found one that is flat that you keep in your house next to a window if necessary on special for $20 yesterday. Hoping it does the trick.

Hubby is back to his normal routine. I'm not sure if he's truly feeling better, but time will tell. He doesn't listen to his body much, and hides it pretty well. He did rest all day yesterday, so hopefully it did the trick.

Pretty cold out today, but the sun is out.

Hi everyone,
things have been quiet here. Been walking 40-60 minutes daily and volunteering 4 days a week. I put more stuff away yesterday. Its much more functional now. My aunt and uncle are in from Scotland. They want me to fly to CA to visit. I'll be looking into the tickets this weekend. One thing is for sure... if I go out to sunny southern CA I'll get a lot more exercising in since the weather is gorgeous.

Hope your families all get over this flu. People around here have it up to 10 days. YUCK

Hi everyone!! It's been a crazy week. After tomorrow things will go back to normal. Our band parent group is hosting a trivia night tomorrow night. I am amazed at how many tables we have and how many donations we have. So thankful for a new parent that collected about 50 items for us!! Everything's ready to go, just waiting for it to get here.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

What a week...It is a good thing that the McD's was wrapped around the building on my way home. Craving grease in a major way. It has been so long since I have eaten there I am sure it would have made me sick ....but major urge tonight.

Bluerose - did you make the starter? If so, please share. Sounds goooood!

Vicky - you're inspiring to drop the soda thing again. I'm going to try again tomorrow. Keep up it up! You can do it. My friend likes to tell me sometimes "Decide to be strong" Maybe that will help you.

good morning everyone
Iím trying to get myself motivated to do some work in the kitchen today. I am going to start a gluten free sourdough starter. And maybe cook some gluten free French macarons today as well. Thatís a lot for someone whoís been doing nothing lately. Friday is pizza Friday as well. I have orders for gluten free and diary free pizzas to make.

{{hugs}} to everyone dealing with illness. It's definitely been a rough flu/cold season.

Not much going on here. Just working, going to Curves and coming home. It's pretty boring but it's been so cold and slippery it's hard to want to do anything. I'm in a food rut too, so I need to start working on a new plan.

I hope everyone has a nice day :)

SoulToSoul, Iíll bet. I canít imagine trying to care for two children down with this nasty thing.

Iím finally getting over this cold, but I still have a deep wheezing in my lungs when I cough. I messed up yesterday and missed my doctors appointment. Luckily they were able to squeeze me in later in the day. The doctor is a bit concerned that Iím not being treated by a regular physician. Honestly I am too. But she was willing to listen to my concerns, and order the bloodwork. Sheís also agreed to review the results with me next week, and help me to better understand them Ė what they are, what the ranges I should be in, and why they are so important. I also have an appointment with my lung specialist later this month which is good. I have a deep wheezing in my chest when I cough still. Iím feeling ok, and my lungs no longer feel ďwetĒ, so Iím not overly concerned. But Iím glad thereís an appointment coming up soon. Theyíre actually wanting to do a pulomary function test that day. I donít know if the results will be any good with this wheezing. But maybe they can figure out why I have this. Iíve had deep wheezing in my lungs for years, and it gets more noticeable when I run/exercise.

And Iím still working on selling raffle tickets for the custom made photo quilt to help raise money for the food truck I want to build for my gluten free baking business. So even though Iím home, Iíve got plenty to do today.

Anyhow, hope everyone has an awesome day. Iím off to my US postal box today to pick up another quilt package. I got a good deal on it, so I ordered another one. Time for me to get building soon. lol
