Cathy I am with you and the sleep deprivation. Brain overload. We try to solve the daily issues in our subconscious sleep. Alas.....
Pray you get some decent sleep soon.

Have to laugh with the mower as I can almost visualise it going backwards.

Hope it gets sorted soon.

Working half a day and then off to Sydney (an hours flight away) I will be exhausted by the time I hit my bed at close to midnight tonight.

I will have my tablet with me so I will be in touch daily.

Live well, laugh often, love much.

Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.

Just flying through at "light" speed! Oh to be light again!

Georgia, sorry to hear about your uncle. Hope your trip goes well with your mum. Hugs

Sending hugs and wonderful happy thoughts to all. Hubby hasn't gotten to the mower, but did some mowing with the rider...which only turns in one direction and so he needs to do a lot of the lawn going in reverse! Just like our family, even the lawn mower is special! At least we can get the lawn done somehow.

Am so tired, not sleeping well at all. Tomorrow have my yearly Dr. appt.

Hugs to everyone, Cathy

Dee nice to hear from you. I had to have a talk to my vacuum cleaner yesterday and it worked. It stayed working. Thankfully as I do not have time right now to get a new one.

Tickets booked, wheelchair for mum at the airport booked, bags packed and only just in weight limit but packed, Just waiting for Tuesday now and get down there.

Meals cooked and frozen for DH.

Oh to be at the cafe under the shady trees listening to the waves gently roll in and sipping something refreshing...........

Live well, laugh often, love much.

Becky, do hope your in-laws continue to do well. Congrats to your BIL on his employer matching the other offer.

Cathy, I agree with Georgia, just talk to that mower and explain how important he/she is to the whole family. If it works...let me know so I can try it with ours...LOL!

Georgia, sorry to hear of the loss of your uncle.

HOT4FITNESS, glad you had a nice time at the camp. It's always a bit of a struggle to get back on track.

Everyone Else, do hope all is well.

me, hanging in there. nothing new here...just same old, same old...different day.

The good thing is we get to stay in her home while we are there so helps with costs. We shall also clean out a few things for her too. At 88 she does not do very much these days.

Oh Cathy sit and explain to the mower how vital he is to the family LOL!! Then maybe it will co operate.

I have been so busy these days and although that is good I do want some me time alone where I do not do anything but read or watch some girlie movies and then to top the day off some one to cook our dinner. Pop!!! I just woke up from that delicious dream......

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Hugs, Georgia!

Becky, so glad your inlaws are doing okay. So glad for your brother in law and that it will hopefully help out everyone with him living with your inlaws and helping out.

I am having a battle with our old stubborn lawn mower. It is so hard to start (blisters to prove it!) and then it seems to come up with every excuse to stall or have another "injury." I am going to win this one! I get a little bit done each day until it dies for some reason! What a whiner of a mower!! LOL

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hugs to all, Cathy

Hi! Wishing everyone a wonderful week. :) Hugs all around.

Cathy, thanks for asking. My inlaws seem to be doing ok. Ev just talked to his brother and hasn't given me the update yet, so I hope all is still fine. His sister still has the girls. My brother-in-law just got a big raise and better insurance - he was recruited by another golf course, but his current one didn't want to lose him so they matched the package. He likes it at this course, so that is wonderful. Since he lives with their parents, this will go a long way toward helping out there. :)

Happy weekend, everyone!

Cathy, sounds like nice things going on. :)

Georgia, I hope you get some rest.

Dee, you need rest, too!

We're just getting things done around the house, plus running a few errands today. Tomorrow, we will make Ev breakfast, then Mum & I will go to my brother's house for a little bit for Father's Day brunch (the first one since my dad moved back into town). After that, we will just relax at home, watch movies, play games, then bbq bratwurst and hot dogs for dinner. :)

Thanks Georgia! I hope so. Even if we make a little it will be worth it. I am just not going to sweat it. I just want to get all this stuff out of my house.
My basement is mostly cleared out and organized! YAY!
The garage, though I did a lot of work and it is better needs a lot more work. Hubby has to organize all his stuff. sigh All in time.
I am so sore after weeding the rest of the garden today. The kids helped and I am SO thankful! It is a big job, but we are done!
After tomorrow's sale we have our special DadFest celebration at church with lots of fun things to do afterwards right at the church campus. Sunday, I plan to relax! Well, that's the plan.
Hugs to all, Cathy

Just a quick check in. Trying to price all the stuff we'll be selling at our Homeschool Used Curriculum Sale that is held once a year and is this Saturday. I just price groups of materials instead of each individual item, otherwise I'd be here pricing forever! LOL

Thanks, ladies! Hugs & energy much appreciated.

Our school district has always started classes right after Labor Day in September, but this coming year they will start on Aug. 25, and then on Aug. 15 in 2016. We are trying to line up better with other parts of the country, because the AP and IB tests are always given on the same day in May across the nation, so our students have always missed out on 2-4 weeks of instruction before those exams as compared to other kids. Our school year has gone as late as June 27 (miserable), but in 2017 Caddy will graduate on June 1 due to the moving up. That is also nice, because travel costs are better earlier in June, I don't teach summer school until around June 22, and if he needs to attend college orientation in early June, he can do so without missing school right before final exams.

Hugs to all!

Cathy I like the idea of spring cleaning. I try to do a few of those things when DH is not around and know he has not touched or looked at things then get in and throw them out. Usually on garbage collection day when there is no hope of retrieval. It is also good for the karma around you to be organised. Wishing you a successful June to achieve.

Becky you sure are a very busy lady. Sending you strong energy bunnies to cope with it all.

Waving hi to everyone. Nothing much happening. Just counting down to the weekend and some time off.

Becky, your boys must start later in the year than around here. Most our schools were out around the end of May. We always go into the first week of June.
I don't know how you do it with work and the kids, house, hubby, just everything! You are amazing!
Hope you get some time off this summer to enjoy with the family.

I'm with you, Cathy - winter is wonderful! We are in the 90's this week - blech. Longing for the 50's. :)

Super busy - boys finish school on Friday, I have student teacher exit interviews all week, and I start teaching summer school next Tuesday.

Georgia, while you are in your winter (my fave season) we are in hot sticky humid weather and having lots of rain. I am trying to be thankful for not having to bundle up each time we take the dogs out and at least having a garden, though it is muddy to work in!
I think in life we have to find the true contentment that is there. I am working hard at that on my journey. I've learned that I can't control (or stop) the hurtful people in my life, but I can walk away from them or just live my life no matter their choices. It isn't easy, but it is necessary for my own health.
I hope you are able to get up and feel good healthy energy to get through these cold days.
I've been working hard at cleaning out the garage and basement...still. So much to go through and my husband is totally disorganized and keeps everything! I am very thankful to be on the better side of the cleaning out. Still have plenty to do, but feel it is so important in my journey to have a clean, organized home. This was one of my goals for this month.

How is everyone? I know it is a busy time of year (isn't the whole year like that?)

Hugs to all, Cathy

My goodness how did I miss the cafe, I am sorry to have been missing for so long...

I will try to catch up on the posts.

Love you all and hugs.

Yesterday had the neighbours first birthday in the local park and the party just finished before the rain set it. It was so much fun.

Hope everyone has a fun weekend.

Welcome back to the team! This seems to be a very busy time for everyone right now, but we are usually on here everyday chatting and supporting one another.

Hope everyone is having a very healthy happy day.

I have been doing major cleaning out in our garage and basement to organize and get rid of stuff we just don't need. I'm also preparing for a Homeschool Used Curriculum sale that we have once a year through our group and it is a great way to sell stuff you don't need and get things you do at a greatly reduced price. Busy times! But also good activity!

Last night we were up late last night due to trouble with my Aspie adult who is hanging with the wrong crowd. He is learning the hard way about consequences for his actions. Sadly, he hasn't hit rock bottom. But it is his deal.

Have a very healthy happy day!

Hugs, Cathy

Hello everyone! I belonged to this team many moons ago and decided to try it out again. My Son has Tourette syndrome and I work at a camp for kids with Tourette Syndrome and Aspergers every summer.
It sure has been hot here for running. Might be taking my run to th eindoor track today.

Hugs to all!

Ev's sister just arrived at their parents' house. I guess Ev told her it was unacceptable that she was changing the plans and keeping him away from his family and business. The boys and I brought him home Saturday - so worth the almost 300 miles round trip and the heat. We launched Caddy's cardboard and duct tape boat today - his might have been the fastest one in his class. I will try to post pix in a blog. It was hot - almost 90 degrees and bright blue - perfect for launching boats across the high school pool. :) (With our May Gray and June Gloom, we are often cold and cloudy at this time of year.)

Hugs Becky! It is so hard to deal with family some times and then when family members are sick and the logistics and other issues that get in the way of helping to support each other are so hard. Prayers to you my friend that all will be resolved between your SIL and Ev. Hope Ev gets a much needed break and the help needed to support his parents.

Dee, I hear you on the way too much to do to take care of me thing. I did that for so many years and still slip back into it. That's why I think taking things one step, one day at a time can so help us. If you make the choice to do at least one thing each day (healthy snack, 15 minute walk or exercise, 15 minutes of just me time, etc.) it will soon make a habit that you can add more to slowly. You are worth it! We are here to help!

Georgia, miss you! Hope you are doing well. Good thoughts sent your way.

Jenna had a wonderful birthday! She is my incredibly active go-go-go at hyperspeed girl! Can't believe she is 11. We had an amazing just our family day and lots of activity. We walked at my hubby's work and with high winds the resistance in our walk was great exercise. There were plenty of hills and steep grades to maneuver as well. Add that to my 40 minutes of Fitdesk biking that morning and I had close to 20,000 steps yesterday! Can you say stiff? Yes I am!
We had so much fun being silly and it was just great to let go and be carefree and leave all the trials behind! There are gates that we had to figure out how to navigate on our walk and so I decided that at each gate we had to find a different way to go through them. I was so, so tired, I actually chose to crawl under! So glad my kids weren't taking pictures of video at that moment!!
I hope all of you have the most amazing day! You are so worth it!!

Hugs, Cathy

Cathy and Becky, i know i need to take care of myself...but it's hard at times when so many other things are happening around me. I will try though.

Cathy, Hope Jenna had an AWESOME day! My ds also forgot a lot of things over the summer and we would work on things a bit at at time. You are doing such a great job with your children. Don't know how you fit it all in. HUGS!

Becky, sorry to read Ev's sister is being a putz. Sounds like her grip on the reality of the situation with her folks is not a good one. Do hope you are able to relax and breathe. HUGS!

Everyone Else, do hope all is well.

me, hanging in there. actually have the whole weekend off from work....so checking in here and on FB. then will do some things around the house that i haven't had time for. will also make time for me to just chill.

I hope Jenna enjoys her special day. :) Summer is tough on a lot of kids, and special needs can make that even more difficult - last year was the first time Caddy wasn't all out of sorts for the first few weeks of break. I hope it goes well!

Happy Friday dance time!!!

Breathe. Smile. We can all get through everything together.

Ev's sister claimed last night that she didn't realize she was supposed to come out and take care of their parents so that he could come home for a little while at least - what?! That's what they have arranged over the last 2 weeks - she kept delaying it, but had said on Monday that she would be here next Monday for sure. Now she says she thought she would just fly our nieces out to her in AZ next Thursday - no worries that the parents would be alone with the girls all week and that the airport is 2-3 hours away and the parents cannot drive. Oh, and instead of helping for a week then taking the girls for 2 weeks, she said she would keep them only a few days. Again, what?! Sorry - so mad right now. Still have a splitting headache from talking to Ev about this and other frustrations last night. Hence, my line above this paragraph. I truly believe that I have gotten through the last 2 weeks without too many headaches because of my awesome Spark buddies, and I thank you all for that support.

Dee, I agree with Becky! You are so worth it to put yourself first and be at your best for yourself and everyone else. You have done so much for your family for so long. It's your turn!

YAY! Last day of school today! We will some work over the summer as the kids just can't remember things if we just take off completely. Jenna (my almost 11 year old) forgets things a lot...not sure if that is due to her ADHD, Dyslexia or both. She tries so hard, but schoolwork comes hard for her. Tomorrow will be enjoyable just celebrating her day. She was my preemie and such a miracle that she has done so well in spite of an early entrance into the world!
Hope everyone is having an amazing day and night!

Hugs, Cathy

Dee, make yourself a priority. You cannot be there for others if you are worn out, sick, etc. Plus, you deserve to take care of yourself - pamper, etc.

Hugs to all!

Becky and Cathy, you are both doing well on taking things one day at a time.

Everyone Else, hope all is well.

Me, hanging in there. Need to begin taking better care of myself by exercising and eating healthier. Have been putting myself at the bottom of my To-do list for too long.

Way to go Becky! Sounds like you are taking very wise steps!! Chocolate sounds so good right now! I think it is great that you treated yourself, yet sensibly. That is key! Hope your walk goes great.
I got on my Fitdesk stationary bike and read for 40 minutes. I actually got up to 27 mph while sprinting for 2 minutes during the workout! Phew! That was Monday. On Tuesday, my journey included over 16,000 steps as I walked the Pyrs double the amount I usual do...EACH!
Today will be Fitdesk most likely again as I can read while I exercise.
Hope everyone has an amazing journey of a day!!

Happy early birthday to Jenna! 11 is a big deal. :)

Today's "one bite at a time" is that when I was at the mall, I bought only 1 cup of dark chocolate peanut clusters at See's instead of 3 like I usually do. "One step at a time" is that I will go for a walk/run later today - it is National Running Day, and I am using that to get myself moving.

Hugs to all! Wishing you a super day.

Becky, I know you can do it! But you are right, one step, one day at a time, especially with all that is going on for you right now. Hope everyone is doing okay. Prayers are with you!

I am working on the one step, one day at a time thing myself. We have 2 more days of our school, then Jenna's birthday on Friday! I can't believe she will be 11!

Hope everyone is doing well!

For my journey, I will be more mindful - try not to use food (especially chocolate) so much as a stress reliever. I just want to be at a healthier weight, so that I don't have the problems my inlaws do. I want to feel better about myself, and I know from the past that comes with working out more intensely and eating less junk but more fresh food. One bite and one step at a time!

Welcome to our June Journey Cafe!
Like any journey there is a start point and many, many steps in between. Any really worthwhile and successful journey really has no end!
So in our Healthy Lifestyle Journey whether we meet our goal weight and keep weight off, we are still working hard to keep our health and stay at our healthy weight...and so the journey continues. Also, there are memories of hard work and many lessons learned and great success along the way.
So, let's remember that this is a journey and that we have only to take one step and one day at a time. Every day counts even if it isn't a great day for us! It is a learning experience and it all counts!
What will you do with this?
I am going to give myself a break and be thankful and content right where I am at. And then I am going to move forward in a healthy direction one step at a time.
I am so thankful that I am on this journey with the most amazing and supportive people...
YOU!
HUGS, Cathy
