Cravings for processed and refined carbs has always been my achilles' heel and I've started eating a 'starch based diet' since the start of 2016 and noticed my cravings have lessened which has surprised me and also gives me hope.

Holiday festivities makes it so difficult to stay on track but the good side is that the they're behind us and we can start moving forward. I haven't had any major downfalls, except that I really need to get my smoothies in, spend less computer time and get to bed earlier. Have a great day and a happy and successful new year!!

After all of my motivating, I caved on Christmas, but went back on the program the day after. I stayed within my calories, but wasn't getting enough protein or vegetables. Today I am making a conscious effort to rectify both of those errors. Happy New Year to all!

Christmas with family went really well. Ate what I wanted and avoided the dessert table. Kept getting desserts put in front of me and the occasional "You should try ________, it's so good!", but I just smiled and said "no thanks!"

Just finished my second 32 oz green smoothie. I'm not on a juice fast or anything like it, I want the extra fiber and nutrients and drinking it is easier for me, than eating it. DH has a cold and my throat's been feeiing scratchy the last few days so I've been adding Vitamin C powder to my smoothies and yesterday started adding grapefruit seed extract liquid concentrate. Also taking oil of oregano and olive leaf capsules. That should do the trick.

I've started using the food tracker again and I really like how it motivates me to meet and/or exceed my nutrient ranges (especially fiber and calcium). I've joined the 5% challenge team (I'm a cloverleaf..lol) to lose at least 5% of my weight in 8 weeks and looking forward to the support and interaction with the team.

I can understand your philosophy on weighing. I think finding what works is a big key to success and I've seen your ticker... congrats!!

Travel can be hard, especially if it is for business and you are with a group where you have little input as to the food choices. Forgive yourself and keep going. The thing that works for me is logging the food. If I have to log it, I'll think twice about eating it or see how I can fit it into my food plan. Also, when I am doing a challenge, having to report to a group of other people on the challenge works for me.

I also have a weird philosophy on weighing myself. I don't do it but once every six weeks. I used to be a daily scale watcher, and I drove myself nuts. Now I look forward to a large number lost when I do weigh in. I know I have to keep following my program or it will show up. Not knowing what I've lost delays the gratification and makes me feel like I can't slack off. Crazy, isn't it.

I was doing great for over a month and when i got back from a trip, I just stopped doing the work and trying every day to get back on track. Some days are better than others but I need to be consistent. I've gained 2.5 lbs back so far and don't want to regain all 10.5 lbs.
