Good morning it's 60 and rising.

Skipped Church again. too much coughing going on. The medicine is just starting to work so I should be better soon.

Looks like today is another lazy day. I did just ride the bike for 35 minutes.

Going to work on my friends family trees.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Hi, friends!

Fortunately, our furnace was never OUT, we had had a break of it coming ON until the weather turned cold again. emoticon

I feel horrid this morning - sore throat, an almost headache - but I WILL take meds if I need to!

P. Allen Smith is on in the background, and he is in Natchez featuring different historic homes, inns, etc. Joe and I stayed there once and enjoyed it, so it is kind of like taking a trip again.

Have a good day, friends. I am thinking my bed and maybe a book until I can nap will be a good thing today.

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

emoticon Took Mindy to the airport at 4 PM today.
Miss having her around even though it was lots of sun and swim time for her. She did enjoy everything we did this past week so it makes it a fun and relaxing week. She will be back in MN. later tonight. Hope her luggage makes it with her too! We sent some little gifts with her for our 3 granddaughters, Made her carry-on a little heavier.

More family news, :-) our eldest son and family have taken a tour of WI during the gymnastic meet. Haven't heard how our GD has done but we do know they won't be driving back on ice!! And our other son applied for and got his dream job!! He starts on 3/3 so all is well with everyone right now. Hard to fathom no crisis brewing!!

Tammy, I am glad you got storage so soon. I am sure it's hard to get with such a nice park.

Sharon, did you find the pots you were looking for? We thought about going there but Mindy just decided that she needed more pool time and of course sun!

Heather, we forgot to bring our swimsuits and I don't think any of us are too keen on skinny dipping in shallow water with all the fishermen around :-)

Ruthann, glad you are feeling good today after the fall. So sorry for your loss of a friend. Age is just a figure applied to all of us. Hoping you and Terry stay well for your future adventures.

Marianne, good that you are going to be able to get your MH back soon. Sounds like things are improving in your area. Did get pictures of the hwy 1 collapse and it reminded me of when the I-35 bridge went down in Minneapolis. It's a bridge our son would have been on as it went down but he chose another route due to increased congestion. I seem to think about that when roads are washed out.

Good afternoon,

Ruthann, so glad you were not injured after your fall. The memorial service for your friend sounds lovely. emoticon Hope you avoid Terry's cold and stay well. And yes, California needs to warm up!!

Tammy, how great to get into a permanent storage space at Treasure Lake, especially with extra room. I would not do well with 40 degrees and no furnace. emoticon

Sharon, Pete wants to know what else you saw besides illegal immigrants and inner tubes, LOL, on the river trip. Very nice SPI pictures - I would have been in the water too.

TC, sorry you lost your post. It still happens to me too, and I don't always save a copy while I'm posting. I've noticed since our trip that our internet service tends to go in and out - very frustrating.

Hopefully our RV will be ready to be picked up on Wednesday. We're supposed to go south for 3 days to meet some friends in Paso Robles. Aside from some minor issues after our trip, we discovered that the windshield was leaking and the frame around it had rusted. Our warranty apparently does not cover this but we're still fighting the company. Anyway, the windshield had to be BROKEN out and replaced with a new one from Winnebago.

Yesterday I forgot my Fitbit at home when I spent the day with my grandsons, so while I got lots of exercise, my 10,000 steps a day streak was broken. I manually entered the walks we took with their big dog, while she pulled me along, and the football game in the muddy grass.

Good morning RVers:
Thanks for the concerns about my fall. I don't feel anything from the nose dive that wasn't too graceful in the middle of the floor. Everything feels normal and I am blessed. Shoes are gone. Too bad for they were so comfortable. Wasn't meant to be.
Heather: He was a fun guy even through the tough times. He would dress up in womens clothes at the Halloween parade and walk with a walker. Then one of the guys went over and kissed him. A fun thing at the RV monthly meetings.
They also placed him last summer in Terry's swimming pool with his clothes on and floated around for an hour. He was a gentleman and he had a lot of family and friends at his funeral.

Terry isn't any better and refuses to take anything for it. So I guess I will be going to Karaoke by myself. He can be stubborn.

Everyone have a great week end.

Ruthann....sorry about your friend's passing but 91~~~~wow!!!.....
I am glad you did not get hurt when you fell.....but there comes a time girl when we should wear only sensible shoes even if they are not very fashionable. How these actresses .....even young ones .....who walk on 3 inch stillettos don't break ankles~~~~ I'll never know!

Morning!
Woke up to a beautiful sunny morning. We have decided to go back to the DonWes Flea Market this morning. Norm bought another small palm tree and we started a Wandering Jew off the plant on our site so we need a couple more of the cute Mexican Pots to plant them in. It is called DonWes because it borders the two cities of Donna and Weslaco.

Peggy - I just told Norm this morning that I have to fit bill paying into our day! With Feb being a short month, it's time already!

Tammy - Whoopee! I'm glad your name was up for the storage at Treasure Lake. It is nice that they move the RV to your site and back to storage. No need for Joe to have to do it.

Eileen - tell Mindy goodbye for us and tell her we sure enjoyed getting to know her! I hope her flight home is uneventful. I'm glad to hear DS's trip went safely as well.

TC - just reading all the posts is time consuming. Then if you replied to all of them and lost the post, I wouldn't redo it either!!

Ruthann - OMG! You are so lucky that you didn't break any bones with your fall. I am so sorry as you are probably very sore today. I hope Terry is feeling better soon and you manage not to get his sickness so the two of you are fit and fiddle for your trip coming up.

Well, we are off and running so catch you all later - have a great day!

Good morning!!! 61 this morning and we're on our way out for our walk.

I'm washing sheets today and working on bills etc.

Maybe I'll even go out and pull a few weeds.

Tammy so glad that your furnace is running again. We had that happen when we were in NY in November and had to pay a lot of money because it was 8 at night.

Have a great weekend

Our furnace is running again this morning - our high is maybe going to be 40 today.

We got a call from Treasure Lake yesterday that a permanent storage spot is now available for us. We had been on the waiting list not quite a year. We are going down this morning to take care of the financial arrangements. No more hoping for spots in temporary or 6 month storage! The spot is long enough that Joe's DD and SIL can park their fifth wheel in it as well if they wish plus our golf cart.

emoticon all. Sharon did a nice note on our day yesterday. Can't add anything except that we truly enjoy visiting and were so glad that Norm and Sharon could go with us. We did a lot of walking for sure and I feel it today. Mindy thought about going to Mexico today but thought that she will be coming down again so will do that the next visit. Sadly, she flies home tomorrow afternoon. The metro area got missed by all the snow but just south of the Cities, there was a band of snow, mostly a foot or more. Our son drove to Green Bay today for a gymnastic meet in which Josie was on team. They had ice about 40 miles from their destination and he said there is about 1" of ice on the car. At least they made it safely. Hope their trip home, bus and cars, is on dry roads!!

Evening

I had the longest reply after reading all your adventures and it disappeared. I was not smart enough to save to word first and now, do not remember what I was saying. Phooey ! Anyway I enjoyed catching up with you all and wish pray for the very best for you all. The pics are wonderful and looks like good times were had by all.

Not much going on here as usual. I will make some boiled eggs for work. I tried a lemon bar recipe and it was good. Not quite the same as the sugar stuff since it had cream cheese in it but still good. Need to vacuum. Already mopped the kitchen. Working this weekend. I think I am finally getting back into my walking/ biking. All for now. Have a great weekend. TC

Good morning RVers:
Waking up a little sore.

We went tot the funeral yesterday. He was a friend of our RV Club and Karaoke fans. He was 91 and had an awesome life. A little chapel for the services and the grave site was smack on top of a hill near the road overlooking a beautiful scenic view of California. Then we went to the Elks for sandwiches etc. visiting with friends from the funeral. We,l I had on some one-inch heels and tey were sandals. They looked nice and I had to wear sandals because my toe is still sore. Well, Here I am walking across the floor and my ankle twisted and down I went flat on my face. I am so lucky I didn't break anything. They ran over and kept asking me if I was OK. I said I was but they kept it up. They were afraid that I was going to sue them. Anyway, those shoes are no longer to be worn by yours truly. They were so comfortable darn. Style in flat shoes only for me for now on. For the next time I may not be so lucky.

We came home and died. I just feel so tired lately and Terry not feeling well is also tired. I hope we both snap out of it. I hear the dryer dinging so best go fold my clothes and put them away.

Sharon: your day sounded wonderful. Did you yell at those guys crossing the river to go home? The beach looked delighting but the temps even in CA need to warm up. Another month and the pool will be looking good. I miss AZ and thier sun and warmth in the day.
I will get more sun in Mazatlan next month.

Good Morning!
Yes, we had another fun filled day with Roger & Eileen yesterday. They were going back to SPI as it was on Mindy's Bucket List for this visit. They invited us to ride along so jumped at the chance as the weather was so much better than our first trip to the island.

Mindy jumped out of the van before it came to a complete stop (almost) she was so anxious to get the feel of the water on her feet!

We walked a long way up and down the beach. Then we piled in the van and headed to Dirty Al's for lunch.

Nothing fancy but one of the best fresh seafood restaurants on the island. We all enjoyed a wonderful lunch. Norm and I order a appetizer of Calamari. We tried to share, and Roger did eat some, but the other ladies were not interested. Norm and I also ordered a burger and split that. I know, I know, a burger with all the fish! BUT, I don't like fish (traitor).

After lunch we drove back to the beach and found a shaded Pavilion to sit and visit while Mindy suited up and took a dip in the water. She tells us it was indeed very cold! Mindy is the lone lady in the middle of the picture.

The last thing we decided to do before heading back was to go shopping. There are so many souvenir stores but problem was the power was out so the stores were very dark and cash only as they couldn't process credit card pays. We were about to give up when we found a store that had power. We were all able to shop and make purchases. Of course, I bought a couple new sparkly shirts!

Norm and I arrived back at our MH around 5:30. We weren't hungry for supper so we spent some time in front of the TV and went to bed early. Nala was exhausted as well from playing with 2 dogs all day long. All in all, another successful day thanks to Roger & Eileen.

Before I sign off, I wanted to add that we went on a Riverboat cruise on Wednesday. A one hour trip up and down the Rio Grande River. I have heard of the illegal immigrants crossing in broad daylight but we actually got to watch some crossing from Mexico to the US! You can see them on an intertube in the middle of the picture. We also saw several abandaned intertubes up and down the river on the US side that were left by people that crossed.

I have several daffodils blooming, some Siberian iris blooming as well, and one of my lilac bushes is about to have leaves. I saw forsythia blooming and Bradford pear trees as well. Our temps are now going to be significantly colder - perhaps just a bit of freezing at this point in the year.

I picked up my computer yesterday and all seems well. Yay!

We had a lovely day with our DD, Mindy and Sharon and Norm out on the South Padres. Spent the day walking the beach, sitting and visiting while Mindy swam and floated and the shopping at a tourist shop. Found that part of the town was without power so those stores were closed. Did find one at the end of the shops with power and of course we all got something. Ate our lunch at Dirty Al's, a seafood restaurant with Mexican and burgers too. Got back about 5 PM and tired!!

We are now discussing going to Mexico tomorrow but will figure that out in the AM. Mom called and wants us over for dinner tomorrow and then having friends over to play a game before Mindy goes home on Sat. She is looking for more pool time too. Getting lots of Vit. D. to help with going back to fresh snow.

Arlene, we were without water yesterday, all day due to a triple leak in the city's line. Our friend's home became waterfront property and we told them their rent was sure to go up. While working on the line, the city cut the ATT line to their house leaving them without internet and TV for over 24 hrs. Just got word they are now up and running!! I don't know how many more times we will be without but hope this break is repaired completely.

Did get my Garmin up and running on the computer but not on the android. Not sure why. The SP site doesn't put all the info on besides the steps, at least so far so I really like the sleep report on the VeryFit I have so will keep that one going until I can figure out why I can't get the tablet to upload.

Hi all,
I have to laugh. Iíve been sitting here reading the posts and my Fitbit just buzzed and told me to ďget movingĒ.

Oh dear, Darrell just stuck his head in my computer room and told me that we donít have any water. We knew they have been looking for a water break somewhere in the area the last few days but havenít been able find it. So I guess theyíve shut water down again and are doing some checking. The water hasnít been breaking through to the surface so theyíre having problems finding it. Iím thinking they should have some equipment to track it better than they do. I do try to not complain but it seems like some of the people they have in control in our city government donít know how to do their jobs. We see it more and more all the time. The reforming of our city government hasnít really been for the best, and I hate to get into politics of any kind so I just bite my tongue a lot.
.
Sharon Ė I donít think Iím going through near as much pain as you are if itís anything like what my DIL deals with having to deal with the scar tissue. But I do complain a lot to myself because Iím not happy with the pain with the last knee surgery. The pain lately though is joint pain and yesterday was not good because we had a change in weather and I always feel that so I didnít get many steps in. I was excited though on Tuesday night because I go over 10000 steps. I havenít done that in a long long time. Getting back to the Y really helps. And Iím not good at putting in a tape and exercising to that.

Brenda Ė Thatís a long time to deal with the pain of a kidney stone. By luck they took care of my DILís after only a week. I donít know the size of it but the doctor said it was large and it was lodged in a spot that so that she would never been able to pass it. So when she had a scare recently thinking she had another one she got a bit anxious. Of course she is a worry wart any way. It doesnít take much to get her hyper. So glad she has had it taken care of and will now feel better.

Eileen Ė Glad your daughter has arrived and you can now enjoy the time with her. Itís always harrowing having to wait for luggage. Iíve gotten so that when I go to see my sister I manage to get everything into my carry on so that I donít have to check it. They did take my carry on one time and put it below and I worried that it wouldnít get there with me, who knows what they do with it.
Linda Ė I havenít kept up on all that is going on with you but it sounds like youíve had some times and some tough times ahead. Take care and be strong.

Ruthann Ė YOUíRE BACK. We love to read about your adventures. You are such a busy lady. Speaking of cats, we have 2 of them as guests right now. Our Jenny is headed to Pittsburgh for about 4 days next week so her ďgirlsĒ have come to stay for a while. I will say Iím not used to it anymore. I will be cleaning kitty hair for a few days after they go home. Plus one of them is a ďloverĒ and the other one has a different personality. Sheís good with us but when she spots another cat outside she gets territorial and since she canít get at that cat she chases the other one in the house. She doesnít hurt her but poor Boo canít understand why she canít just be like her. But since you have Ginger you sure donít need a cat around especially one that doesnít live there all the time.

Marianne Ė I keep thinking about you and Pete and keep hoping for the best for you. We have family in CA but I think they are all in safe areas.

Peggy Ė I have to say I had carpel tunnel over 15 years ago on both of my wrists and have never been sorry. Iíve also had ďtrigger releasesĒ on all of my fingers and both of my thumbs, thanks to my knitting, crocheting and cake decorating. Iím very glad I did but Iím also sure that these surgeries have a lot to do with the arthritis I deal with in my hands. But the numbness in my hands was something I sure wouldnít want to live with. Good luck.

Can anyone figure out I havenít been on here for awhile ? I just said itís time to do more than just read, and sometimes I donít seem to do that.

Darrellís been busy building a curio cabinet for me in the livingroom. We had plans drawn up back in 1983 but couldnít afford the $1200 they wanted for it, now Darrellís taken on the task. I would hate to think what it would cost to have it done at this time. Heís very meticulous about picking out the best oak wood. He goes through the bins at Menards all the time and since he has a garage full of tools and machines he can make it look good.

My next task this afternoon it making my cutting mat for my Scan N Cut sticky again. Darrell gave me the machine for my birthday and I love it but Iím very disappointed in the sticky life of that mat. My Cricut mats last much much longer.
Well I best go.

It's a good thing I went through and read my post. Discovered that either Word or Sparkpeople didn't like my smile emoticon and it stuck a lot of random numbers and letters in so I removed them.

Good morning friends:
Another sunny day here which makes things look so much better. I am waiting for the temperatures to get higher without sweating

Terry is still sick but intends to go to a funeral of our friend. gee everyone in CA will end up with a cold. Yuck! I am staying away from him which isn't easy being in the same house.
Wish me luck. It seems to be all sinus.

Nothing going on here otherwise. Got to get some breakfast. The weight is staying the same which is not what I want it to do. (;-(

Hi, friends!

I get to go get my computer today - it would have been two weeks tomorrow, so it is right on time! I have a new hard drive and they increased the memory to more easily run Windows10. Joe thought I got a very good price on it all, so I guess that I did! LOL

The teenager who made the threat via Snapchat/forwarded text is now in custody. Of my 46 students total, 15 were absent yesterday and all of them happened to be dual credit students from that high school. I talked to my dean about it and it seems one of the English teachers was affected in the same way. We do have security, and at least some of them carry these days with changes to MO law. It's not that I have to do anything to bring them up to speed or anything, and no exam or quiz or anything. They "just" missed the day's lesson.

I thought about more gardening over these next few days, but it will likely only be today as the weather is going to be cooler - more seasonal - after today.

Have a good day, friends.

Got all my packages in one day late this afternoon!! Charging the camera battery while trying to download and sync my Garmin. Finally got it into SP but haven't gotten it to sync with my tablet. About ready to quit for tonight and get done with tracking:-)

Another record breaking temp today by 5 degrees. We have sure had a lot this winter. I am hoping when we need to load the camper, we aren't breaking those temps. Had cards here today and Mindy with Roger and another guy went out to have Chinese. They all came back more than stuffed. Didn't need to make any supper this evening as I had made a tuna salad and 2 other salads came for our lunch. No one hungry yet! I think we shall cover that tomorrow.

Hearing that MN. is in a storm watch tomorrow for a heavy snowfall. Kind of wonder if Jason & family will get to Green Bay, WI. for the gymnastics meet. Quite a drive from our place. Josie goes on the team bus so we are praying the storm has moved on out.

Read the posts and saying hi to all. Got several things to do yet before retiring for the night. Have a good night and wonderful day tomorrow.

Good morning RVers:

This morning Terry work up with a really bad cold. Dear Lord, please don't let me catch it. So singing may be out for this week. At lease, until he gets better. That will kill him.

Sharon: Thanks for the info on the Mesa Market but with half of them not there we won't have so much stuff in our rented car to try to get it back to WA. (;-) I would love to see you winter in AZ. I would get to see you more than we are this year. You can NOT imagine how many clothes that Lorraine bought me. The car was full and I haven't had a chance to sort them all out. I told Terry I need a bin to store some in. They are expensive and really nice things that she gets me. I just wonder how I am so blessed. Everyone that I seem to be with likes me and gives nice things to me. I swear my mother has something to do with it. (She went to her grave with a guilty conscience) (;-) She was a strong in charge person on earth and I bet she is twice that in heaven. (;-)
I am missing our challenges for I gained 2 pounds but have been staying there. Sharon, when is the next one? I found how to weigh in on my phone. Wee! finally figured it out.
I know I would be here forever if I answered or commented on your post. Somehow I wish they had like on Facebook. That you can check them to know that you or I answered to them. It would be so much easier. Wishful thinking.
Ok, my friends. I am off to go visit my cousin. I have a pot that she is needing and I need to get out of the house away from Terry and his cold for awhile. Later my friends.

Good morning,

Thank you for the prayers, everyone. We woke up to clear skies and sun! emoticon It's not going to be warm but rain isn't predicted again until the week-end. I realized through this mess that while we have earthquake insurance, we don't have flood insurance, something we'll have to add this year. We aren't too close to a creek but if the dam fails at our reservoir we would be under water. This is the same dam whose overflow is causing all the flooding in San Jose.

Eileen, your weather sounds wonderful - I love heat and lying by the pool. Mindy must be glad she finally got her luggage. Hope you and Sharon take pics to share tomorrow. emoticon

Peggy, I have friends who've been pleased with their carpal tunnel surgery results - sorry you have to go through it.

Sharon, anymore discussion on where to have a rally in September? Last I heard both Colorado and Tennessee were mentioned. Either is fine with us. I look forward to hearing about the river trip.

Heather, I'm still trying cauliflower recipes and this looks good.

Morning!
I'm happy to report we have another beautiful day today. The wind has been quiet since our storms the other night so we are really enjoying our break.

We went up to the clubhouse last night. Bought a polish sausage hot dog for super. Not a great choice but I only got the hot dog so I even ate the bun! We stayed for the Jam until they took their first break for ice cream and cookies. It's fun to hear the old country songs I used to sing as a teenager but some of the singing leaves a lot to be desired.

Heather - thanks for the muffin recipe. It sounds good so if you try out, please give us your honest opinion.

Peggy - so sorry you have to have carpal tunnel surgery but at least you can get it taken care of and not have to suffer with pain. I hope your dr apt tomorrow gives you the go!

Tammy - so sad about the school. I am getting so tired of all the crap going on. I get that people are not happy and protests are legal. It's just that they are getting out of hand with violence. I can see why the school would have to cancel due to the threat.

Eileen - We enjoyed Furr's but find Golden Corral cheaper. But, that was our own stupidity as we went on a Sat. so did not get to enjoy the early bird special prices. We will go during the week if we go again. Norm laughed right out loud when I read to him what you ate! His comment was, "all those choices and you chose pickled beets, live & onions!" Obviously, those choices are not to his liking. BTW, I saw nothing wrong with the exception of the fish!

Brenda - happy to read that Sarah's surgery went well and she can get on with recovery!

Marianne - keeping you in our prayers that you make it through all the flooding going on and can stay dry! I am nervous that you don't have your MH to turn to. At least with that you have another place if you must leave your home!

Ruthann - I never seem to have too many clothes! Especially since gaining this weight back! I had better get to losing again so I can fit into my new smaller size clothes. It must seem quiet with Lorraine gone. I'm glad you enjoyed your time together! I'm sure she will return and Sept/Oct will be here before you know it. Who knows, perhaps we will be back in AZ next year. If we go to the RV Rally in Sept, we may just travel on to our winter place from there. The Mesa Market is open in Sept but not as many Vendors. It takes until Nov before it is full.

Good morning 66 and we're on our way to Bagel King.

The new microwave works great. Now we don't have to reheat our coffee in the pot on the stove.

Well the neck Dr. yesterday sent me back to the hand Dr. and I have to have the carpal tunnel surgery.

I go to my Dr. tomorrow for clearance for the operation. One of the downsides is I won't be knitting or crocheting for about 6 weeks.

At least I'll be at the Drs. tomorrow and I can have her check my throat. Also their office is on the way to WW's.

Back to work today - a local school district, from which we have dual credit students - have cancelled classes today because of a threat warning freshmen not to come to school today. Sad, sad times we live in.

It was drizzly all day again yesterday, so a second day of not working on the gardening spaces.

The luggage saga didn't end until about noon today! The airport finally called that it was in. I was up longer than usual, and we all know that's late, waiting for the call. Fell asleep waiting so eventually went to bed. Mindy got 2 swims in today with some tanning added in. Temps in the 90's and soon may break into the triple digits so they say. Thurs. sounds quite warm so it is probably a great day for the island.

Had our Iowa dinner today at the buffet and even though I didn't think I over ate, I am miserable yet tonight!! I feel like I gained 5#!! Glad the last time going to Furr's with a group is a couple weeks off. Enjoyed a couple kinds of fish, some pickled beets and liver & onions, some of which I don't take time to make myself and that wasn't there last week.

Linda, keeping healing prayers going for you. You will do well with you positive attitude. It makes all the difference in the world!

Marianne, we keep thinking about you guys! That is way to close for comfort especially with the MH in the shop. Keeping you in our prayers for staying safe. We will continue to follow the news/weather there. Come on back to share our sunshine and high temps!!

Brenda, so glad the surgery went well. That is a very large stone!

To everyone, I hope you have a great day tomorrow! Keeping you all in my thoughts.

Good evening,

Brenda, prayers for your family.

Ruthann, so glad you and Lorraine had a great time!

Linda, having family support is wonderful. emoticon

I must admit, we're getting rather tired of the nonstop rain. Earlier today I thought we were getting a break in the rain, but not quite yet. It paused, and then came down heavier than ever. There is flooding near us, but so far we're ok. The main highway going north closed all lanes, at least until tomorrow night, due to flooding. We went downtown to eat lunch and couldn't figure out why there was so much traffic on the alternate road - after we got home I saw the news of the highway closure. Our RV is in the shop for at least another week, so even if we were evacuated, we wouldn't have our home on wheels. If anyone has seen the flooding in San Jose or Morgan Hill on the national news, that's where we are.

DD and family made it to Tahoe for ski week yesterday, but part of the highway out of Sacramento collapsed this afternoon so their return trip could be a very long detour. It is snowing there steadily, and from the pictures, the grandkids are sledding and having a nice time.

Good Afternoon everyone....
Got Lorraine to the Airport and she is headed to rain and the cold of winter. She was so relaxed while she is here and she was getting nervous to return to the regular grind.
We had an awesome time we went out to Karaoke many times and every day we went shopping. She never missed a day. Phew! I was exhausted. We did get a couple of days at the pool. She spoiled Ginger while she was in Yuma. She took her to bed with her and the poor pup was torn who she wanted to be with. So the next night I put her in her crate for which she is used to and never moved the whole night.
She is already planning on coming down September/October for a month. We will be going to Mesa outdoor swap meet. The people who makes shirts that Sharon and I really like are moving from the Spanish market to the Mesa Market. So Lorraine will land and rent a car and we will be headed to Mesa. (Gee Sharon, wish you were going to be there.) They claim that the Mesa Market opens in September. I hope that is right. ????????
Speaking to shop until you drop. YIKES!
Maybe to go and visit some line dancing friends who live down there. Well, that is her plans.
She said that she would go down for 6 months if she could bring her cats. SORRY! NO CATS at my place. She wasn't happy about that. OMG! We are getting new managers in our park in March and I have a feeling that the rent will be going up. I may look around and see what they have for senior apartments with a pool. something I can afford. LOL

Now I am trying to get ready for my trip I have tons of summer clothes but seems cold here right now. I guess I will pack them and then take them out in a couple of months. Save some for the trip. Having too many clothes makes ya have a headache. Having enough just to see and pick out easy task. I can't even find anything that I want. I need to get organized big time.

Well, the weight has stayed the same now that I am with Terry again. Chinese food didn't help but I am planning to buy food soon. Terry is coming down with a sore throat and I am making him some chicken soup. He better get better so he won't miss a karaoke session. Ha ...... Ok gang later. Got to go pluck the chicken. Later

We had rain all day yesterday and this morning. Now it is sunny and beautiful.

Thank you for all the comments on Frank's fish. TC you asked he doesn't keep those big bass they go back into the lake. so they can get bigger plus this time of year those big ones are usually the female ones full of eggs so we want to make sure they lay those eggs. We will keep crappie to eat.

We plan to take an overnight trip on Thursday to north Louisiana and north Texas to check out a couple of RV dealers and look at some trailers.

My prayers are with those in the flooding areas. Marianne glad you are ok and that your DD was able to get out of the flood safely.

Take care all.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Morning RVer's!
We had a good peaceful sleep last night as we were both tired from our night of storms!

We played Bingo again last night but didn't win. One lady won twice in a roll last night which felt unfair since I've never had a win! Oh well, not too many more weeks left so hopefully my win is coming!

Eileen - so sorry your DD's luggage didn't arrive. Our airport brings the luggage to your home when that happens. I thought all airports did that so I was surprised you have to go back. We will plan on Thursday and be at your house by 9am. Should be another fun day!

Linda - it's a shame you did not sleep well but after all you've been through, it's not surprising. I hope the radiation treatments go well. Just know ahead of time that after a few treatments the fatigue and lethargy will catch up with you. Just know too, that it is temporary and will pass. I remember my GS drank a lot of high calorie shakes as he didn't feel much like eating. His radiation treatments zeroed in on the thyroid area so he got a sore throat. BUT, he said he would do it in a heartbeat over again as the last two years he has been cancer free. My prayers are that you have the best possible outcome.

HI TC! Hope your workday is good.

Tammy - I would just send Baby Jane's dad a FB message as he's the one to contact you. Just perhaps he doesn't want money from you and all the worry is for naught!

Good Morning, wow, I have sure missed alot from you gals. Alot of you have been busy with quilting etc. and that is great. Lovely work you do. I have a friend that quilts and I just love her stuff. I myself was never into that. I do knit a small amount and did sew back when the kids where young. Now my sewing machine is in storage shed and I think I will sell it in the spring.
I am paying a large amount to keep that storage and I am sure I won't be needing it as this living arrangement with inside the DD house down stairs seems to be working out ok.
Today I am lucky to have my eldest DD staying with me for a week while the other daughter leaves on a break away with her fella. I have three dr. appointments today. Hopefully they will be happy with my neck incision and brace. Then I get a schedule for my radiation treatments.
Did not sleep well last night with mulling thru all this that will happen, but I did go thru alot so far so imagine I can also handle this...
Sharon, I can imagine you not sleeping when the motorhome is a rocking. I would just sit and wait it out. Sleeping was always inpossible then.
I was out yesterday and joined the senior centre. Was I get used to bus routes etc. I will work into getting there and joining in. I can also buy take home meals for a low price and put them into my freezer.
Hope everyone has a wonderful happy day.
Cheers, Linda

Prayers for your DIL today, Brenda!

SS, no, I haven't contacted them yet. I have given to GoFundMe in the same situation that you just did. Two years ago there was a horrific murder in the area, and unfortunately the murderer was a former student as were two of the people who lost their lives. They all went through school at the time my kids did. There were no funds in the family of the two who lost their lives that I knew, so I did donate to GoFundMe for them. Back to my cousins now...they reportedly have spotty wifi, but I was on Facebook at a time last night that is not usual for me, and my smartphone did show that the mom was on...I should have sent her a private FB message, I guess.

Eileen, have a great time with your DD there!

Joe has an early morning doctor appointment here in town, no breakfast before going as they will send him to the lab after.

Had a nice rain this AM. Must have started about 4 AM and dripped through 9 AM. Got 0.5" for really needed rain. Sounds like the SPI also got some nice rains too. Card day and when I got back to the house, the manager had the workers putting up a pole in our yard for the new WIFI system. Apparently the 1st one wasn't installed correctly and now several more routers are being added. We will have clear, fast WIFI at our door (will wait and see) sometime this week.

Mindy's flight from MPLS to Dallas was really rough. She had taken Dramamine but still got very nauseous. The lay over in Dallas was a fast race to meet the connecting flight to McAllen. The closed the door behind her. BUT her luggage didn't make it. Go figure. We are now waiting for a call from the airport to go back and pick it up. It's only 11:15 and I have 2 tired people trying to stay awake. I think I will be on the road tonight for luggage!! The other BUT is but she's here and raring to go, starting tomorrow after a night's sleep!

Ruthann, glad to see you back and that you had a lot of fun! Lorraine sure does keep you going!

Arlene, we have been to Blackbeards several times but always enjoy going back. They are a little more cost effective plus the food is good. I am getting a new battery for my camera and hope it's here on Weds. so might be able to take some pictures to share!!

Sharon, you were much closer to the rough storms than us. We did hear thunder at a distance but you had to listed. Sedated Keeleigh and wouldn't have had to. She was still dragging this AM. We had a gentle rain for about 4-5 hrs. got a 0.5" rain.
No winds here either. Thurs. works well with everyone so it's a go on Thurs. about 9 AM? And we are taking the car so no need to drive on the beach :-)

Brenda, prayers for your DIL.

Should be heading back to the airport fairly soon as the flight from Dallas should be in. Just waiting for the call. Mindy is over tired as well as Roger. We girls are going though as I don't want to be alone nor should she and I don't know her bag.

We survived the overnight storms! It was even windier than normal, with thunder & lightening and heavy (I mean heavy rain). The good news is Nala slept straight through. Not me! The MH was just a rocking! BUT, the storm has moved out, the rain has lightened up and should quit in about another hour. They say the sun should break out but I'm not holding my breath!

These days it seems even harder for me to get my steps in. I remember when staying inside wouldn't bother me. I would just exercise to a dvd. I left home without them this year and it's making a big difference in my daily total steps!

Ruthann - glad to see you back! Your time with Lorraine seemed to go so quickly. BTW, I'll take any of your throw aways. Just send them to me! When do you head out to Mazatlan? I envy you as it sounds wonderful.

Arlene - gosh darn, I feel bad after all you've been through that you are still struggling with your knees. I am slowly learning to live with chronic pain but I don't like it. It has slowed me down tremendously which doesn't help with our weight struggle.

Peggy - my DD works on our family tree and it can be very time consuming! It's also a fun activity for her.

Tammy - be sure and post pictures of your finished quilts! Did you ever call Baby Jane's father back? I did go ahead and donate to the GoFundMe page for the lady that passed in our family. She legitimately has lived on assistance the last few years and I know has no money. Her kids are Indian and live on a reservation in MI and they are also on assistance. It is sad but it is what it is.

Eileen - what a busy Sunday! Ours was boring compared to yours. I'm glad the storm is over as it was scary for a little bit. OK, we'll plan on Thursday for SPI. We'll know more after Mindy arrives so we won't hold you to it if it doesn't work out.

LG - Congrats to your DGD and her team! I saw the pics on FB and was glad you could be there to see the win! I enjoyed reading about your brother flying to Belize to help them out how he could.

Carol - Norm doesn't hunt anymore either so no venison but as luck would have it, one of our friends here in the park brought over a pkg of venison for us as they are emptying their freezer for their trip back to Canada. Now I need to find TC's venison recipe to try out!

I have not been on here in a long time. I check in, spin the wheel and then don't seem to get time to get back.

Carol - The Fitbit people have been very helpful when I need them. I bought my first one on ebay and the last one at Kohls. The live chat is very handy.

Eileen - Some friends of ours just posted a picture of eating at Blackbeards at SPI.

I don't have time to be on here this morning either. Things to do and my knee is giving me grief, I think it has to do with the damp weather we are experiencing. It's not cold but there's been some fog and mist. My knees feel like basketballs :). Didn't make it to the Y this morning because I wasn't comfortable driving on the wet streets with my knees.

Later,
Arlene

Well, Hallelujah! Lucky you I 'm back. Ha ha
It feels good to have internet again. Something about the phone isn't quite up to my lap-top.

Left Yuma at 8:00 am. It was really 9: but a soon as we crossed the bridge into CA it was 8 am,
It was a good thing we left early because for an hour we had thick FOG and the traveling was slow. You couldn't see the traffic light until you were under it. I am glad that was over. There sure has been goofy weather lately. Well, Lorraine is waiting for the banks to get open to get more money. HA, she will have to wait until she gets back to WA on Tuesday for today is a holiday. (Presidents Day)
We had a GREAT time as usual and there wasn't a day that she didn't buy something. She bought me so much that I need to get rid of a lot of stuff. It is over whelming but she has it to blow and she does. She is already planning another trip in October. We lost weight while she was with me but one day back with Terry and I gained 3 pounds. I hope it goes away before tomorrow. Yikes!
Today, we are getting ready for her last night in Yuma. Yup, we are going to Karaoke. we went quite often while in Yuma. The weather was deliciously perfect and so was the pool. Now they have Karaoke at our park. We had a ball the last night that we were there.
It was hard to leave that perfect weather. It is a lot cooler here in CA. By the time we get back from Mazatlan, Mexico next month it should be warming up. Back to jackets here.

OK, I must get started with the day. Everyone have fun, stay warm and dry stay diet strong!

Hi, friends!

Almost all of the cutting for the next quilt project is done. Perhaps I can finish the cutting today and then sew a bit tomorrow and then the end of the week. Simple baby quilts don't take long...I do have a larger quilt in the making, but put it aside to make progress on this baby quilt.

We may have a bit of rain today - we need it. It might make some garden weeding easier as well. I have more garden chores planned for today around the rain.

Have a good day. Hello to all!

A little busy Sunday for us. We were greeters at church so that means going in early. In the mean time mom asked us to stop and get donuts for coffee time so that was again earlier. Then there was a board meeting after services. We had to leave after 1.5 hr. and it was still going with about 5 people remaining there. Got home and cleaned and chopped 6# of strawberries and chopped up a container of peanuts for our ice cream social. We had 144 people tonight which is out biggest night. Ran out of bananas just at the end. Didn't stop running until closing time so it was a busy hour.

Sharon, I think we can plan on Thurs. Glad Mindy's flight is late evening so the storms should be out of the area. She still has a fear of flying but will go occasionally. Her 1st flight was to Porta Viarta (sp) with the HS band and they flew through storms. Not a good 1st flight! You are closer to this storm than we are. Hope you do well in the MH.

Carol, I am awaiting my new Garmin. Hope it arrives on schedule tomorrow but you never know with a federal holiday involved. We are okay with a delay as about the time they are scheduled to move, we will probably be on the way south. We do enjoy travel but haven't been on the road for this many months so should be interesting. We have friends that go out to the biker's rally. They are a group of Christian group that go each yr.

Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. I read thru all the posts but don't have time to comment on all of them.

Got a phone call yesterday from my brother who went to Belize on a mission trip. He is a pharmacist. He was telling me all about it and how wonderful it is to be able to help these people out.

We went to our DGD's middle school basketball tourney yesterday and they won it!! So happy for them. But did too much sitting for me. I did get up and move about between games but just not enough.

Today I'm doing laundry and ironing. Need to be working on my baby quilt. Maybe later. Our weather is not all that good but hoping to get outside for a walk later.

I think I need to check in here every day, as this group is so chatty and I don't want to miss anything else!

My husband doesn't hunt anymore, so no more pheasant, duck or venison. The best venison I ever ate was a roast on our charcoal grill, seasoned with nothing but worcestershire sauce. I have no idea why it turned out as well as it did.

Heather, fun pix!

Marianne, I'm freaking about your daughter being caught up in that storm and driving back on a bike path?!?! I assume it was paved. How scary! The Oroville Dam situation reminds me of ND's 2011 flooding. Our big Garrison Dam holds back Lake Sakakawea, and the Lake was so full they had to use the emergency spillway for the first time, too. At the end, they had to repair the concrete spillway, but it had done its job. Unfortunately there was lots of flooding anyway due to heavy rains and run off from MT mountains.

I've read the newspaper online as DH reads the paper one. Catching up on emails, then heading to the gym for exercise bike and upper body work. My new FitBit should be coming soon and I'm eager to try it.

Our Golden Corral closed several months ago when the owner of the building decided he wanted to do something else with it. Too bad, it did a lot of business. A friend would always want us to eat there, but I'm not a big fan of buffets. I never feel like I'm getting my money's worth if I eat sensibly. Why pay $12 for a salad and a diet coke? Oh, and then there's all that temptation!

Eileen, our contractor said he'd have our house done in November, but it wasn't done until February, and we had to wait for our front steps (concrete) till the next Spring. Good that you, DH, and pups are travel ready!

WE already have plans for July of 2018 - friends are celebrating their 50th anniversary there the first week and invited one and all to come. It'll be the 1-7, so I'm betting we'll have to make our reservations as soon as they're open in the Black Hills of SD. I can't think of a busier week there, other than the biker rally.

Have a good day, everyone!

I am not that person any more.

Morning!

We ended up at Furr's for dinner yesterday. Although it is a buffet like Golden Corral, I ate wisely and my weight was done this morning. I was surprised as that's almost unheard of for me after eating out!

Norm and I went to Junior's Supermarket yesterday to buy meat. Their meat is cheap and we got enough for six meals for $14. The rest of their stuff is not cheap though.

It's another hot and humid day so it's easier to stay in out of the wind and humidity. It's days like this that I appreciate the park's WiFi. It is slower than I like but much better than none at all. So I will probably do some searching online.

Heather - love the pics! That Anjulie is so darn cute!

Marianne - It sounds like scary conditions because of the rain will continue for the next few days. I'll say a little prayer for you and yours. I mentioned to Norm that I wonder when all the people go that are evacuated. What an experience your DD had!

Carol - I can relate as I will not make a recipe for anyone else until I have tried it and enjoyed it. I don't think we are unusual. I'm sorry it is difficult for you to post photos as I am truly loving that we can. I enjoy the pictures everyone posts.

Eileen - I hope Mindy doesn't have any trouble with her flights. My niece was on their way home from a cruise and had delays in LAX and Chicago due to weather issues. Norm is supposed to do a demonstration at woodcarving on Friday so if at all possible, we hope you can go to SPI on Thursday. Go when you can though and we'll see if Norm can change plans if necessary.

Tammy - I hope your plants survive the transplant! Norm has been watching his Mandarin Orange tree every day since he transplanted it into the new pot but he said yesterday that it appears to be doing well. I wish we could sit and cut out your squares over coffee. It would make your job so much faster and easier. I don't sew but I could cut, lol.
