I hadn't seen the page issue, until just now. It all looked okay on my phone, but not on the computer.

$800$ Ouch! I just had an extra vet expense for Cocoa after she tore her stitches out from her spaying yesterday. She now has staples and has to wear a cone for two weeks and the staples will come out in two weeks...it was a fun morning - NOT! This was after spending part of yesterday with DD and her fiance in the ER with DD with chest pain and elevated BP. They ruled out heart issues and there was nothing that indicated emergency situations. She sees her PCP on Thursday morning. I suspect it is going to be ruled stress-related.

Cocoa is coming to, so I guess I better go be a Dog Mom.

Morning!
I feel responsible for the stupid way our posts are going all over the place. I know it's not my fault but I am a problem solver and at this point, I have not solved the issue. I wrote to the Tech site and it seems another team complained of the same problem.

This is their answer:

If you click to refresh the page and clear your cache and cookies on your computer, that should fix it.

Let us know if you're still having trouble.

I tried both refreshing the page and clearing my cache and cookies but it didn't help. I went back to the site and told them that didn't work. I would suggest each of you go to the Tech Site and let them know if it doesn't work. The thread is titled "Help please Threads Scrambling".

As if that itself didn't put me in a bad mood, we went to Sec of State this morning for license renewals and it cost us over $800 dollars. We charged it so now I have to work that in to my budget as we pay our credit card off every month! I guess we'll be eating beans for awhile!

Good morning all.
I read a few of the posts but didn’t make it too far down the list.
Eileen, I’m keeping you and your mom in my thoughts. Hope all goes well with the surgery.
Ruthann, prayers for rapid healing.
It’s going to be a long week for me. No day off. Covering tonight’s shift for our tues night worker. She had to make a trip out of town
It has been quite warm here. I love the heat but this weekend was tough even for me. I’m still feeling the effects of it. Trying to motivate to get out and to the gym. I’m laying here half dressed listening to the thunder. I’ll get going in a minute.
How you all have a great day

Spark needs to fix this post thing. Arlene's is right where it should be, Eileen's is farthest to the right it can be and the rest are kind of on middle right. Annoying ! I do not want to work weekends only. Less help, and more admits. Not fun. Gotta go. Work calls. TC

These posts are a real pain with them sliding off to the right so far. It seems like when I post, t all of mine go but I can read all of yours as normal. I also sign in 15-20 times a night and SP hasn't been able to help me on that. Strange happenings!

Had to take mom grocery shopping for a few items. True to her shopping habits, she more than she had on the list. So got steps in with that as well as getting her groceries in her house and mine into mine. Quite a feat when another record temp possessed our day again. Had to fill mom's car with gas today. Hot standing and waiting. So we are good to go when all the CT scan, appts. and Dr. visits begin. Mom is looking forward to getting it done as she can hardly walk down her ramp without fatigue and hard breathing.
(102 today and a possible 103 tomorrow) No Rumba stories tonight!!

TC, glad the weekend was better. Maybe that's the key, work all weekends and have the week off. Does your hospital have that program? I can't wait to get out and camp either!! That would get us out of this heat!

Ruthann, take care and I hope they find and fix your problem. You aren't one to laze around for sure!!

Sharon, so glad you are going out again. Sometimes the cleaning of the unit can be more of a pain than the house. As above, all my posts are starting out right then when I do post, all of them go to the right. The hydrangea is certainly small for blooming already! Pretty!!

Heather, I am typing very small letters here with my screen at 100% but when I read the posts, the letters are very large and my screen still at 100%. There are some very strange things going on!!

PJ, glad you are getting the work on DS house closer to being done! That's a lot of hard work but with cooler weather it's easier.

Eileen

Slow & steady makes a winner of us. Even if we hit pitfalls, get up. Know that a new day is right around the corner.

Spent a couple of days cleaning up yard at MIL Today we worked on youngest DS house siding. One more window to install then time to finish painting the exterior that we started last year. He seems to be doing good with his new meds and blood sugar counts.

We are getting a few sprinkles and cooler temps for a couple of days. I tried a different Yoga class Saturday morning and it was much more tiring. Got up Sunday with very sore muscles. DH said I thought Yoga was just stretching. Little do people understand Yoga can be great exercise more than just stretching. Holding those muscles in some posiitons. is hard work.

The storms that rolled through our area Saturday didnt amount to much of rain and a few leaves and small limbs blown down.

Marianne - If you scroll over to the right you can read the posts. The page is loading right for me now. Unless others are still having problems, I won't start a new thread yet. Let me know if it's still posting way to the right for anyone. It looks like it has been corrected.

Morning!
It's been a beautiful day here so far. Norm is bringing the MH up for us to do some deep cleaning and get it ready to go again!

Ruthann - my page is the same, sort of. Your post is OK but the rest of them are way over to the right. So perhaps they have fixed it now. Sorry you are still experiencing pain. Where is the pain and what is the diagnosis. I have never heard of an MD telling you to take flax seed. I know it is healthy but I can't imagine it would help with pain. I have mentioned that I take Tumeric Curcumin which is an over the counter supplement to help inflammation and that truly has helped.

TC - I am glad you are finally getting to go camping. You have been waiting so long for your own RV, I hope it happens soon. Thank goodness Mike has one and is willing to share while you are without. Looks like you will also be very busy this week.

Eileen - I loved the Rumba story. I have to say you were lucky it wasn't under the bed. It must seem odd to be there without Roger. In a way, it probably is better that you are busy with your mom.

Tammy - is your DIL and Spencer home from the hospital now? I know they don't keep them in the hospitals very long any more.

Marianne - did you get the SP Mobil downloaded? I use it all the time. I only use the SP Calorie and Exercise app when I am adding food on the go!

I better go and help Norm with the MH. I want to pull all the rugs and bring them in to wash and wipe everything down.

Just a quick note for I was told to be at the hospital at 9 am with clean PJ's.

This site is messed up for everyone's post is off the page to the right. ???
A first for me.
Tammy: Congrats on the new G Baby. beautiful pictures.you are blessed.

I still have pains and today I am cutting down on the flax seed that the Md told me to take.
It just isn't helping.
I am getting to learn how to deal with it but still can't curb the moaning when I stand up or sit down.?????
OK got to go. Yippee! Later

Good morning !

I will be busy this week. We leave late Friday or early Saturday for our FIRST camping trip this year. I've GOT to find an RV I can afford. I would have been out at least 3 times by now if I could drive Mike's... LOL !!

Need to pack clothes in RV Thursday and I will prep/ make meals to cook in crock, grill, or reheat for week. I will make more muffins since I just KNOW my youngest brother will love them. Middle twin brothers have their birthday 16th so need to wrap presents for them. At least they are easy, cars, cars, cars, anything with wheels even though they are 56 this year.

Of course I need to exercise and also work another 3 days this week. The weekend at work was nicer than most days at work I have had for awhile. It was busy, but smooth. Still got 12-15K in steps both days.

Arlene, I am praying you have a wonderful time in FL.

Sharon, what is Norm going to do with the wood stumps for yard ? I guess I did not quite understand that.

Marianne, glad you weathered the colonoscopy ok. Move slow but keep moving.

Eileen, glad mom is listening to the nurses and not driving. the Roomba story was a hoot. I needed a laugh today since I am feeling a tad stressed from work yet. Sure hope mom does well in surgery the 18th.

thanks for the info on the spark app. I did not realize there were 2 kinds. I always go into the full site on my phone to see teams, spin wheel etc instead of the app.

Ruthann, get some rest here and there where you can. you are starting to sound beat down a tad. I am glad Nancy has you though.

Later, TC

Way behind in reading. Working on it so won't be commenting too much, I don't think!!

Busy with mom. She is not driving so I have to get her to all the places she needs to go. This week will be fairly quiet. Next week every day is some for of appointment and then the 18th the heart valve will be placed if all the tests and visits with Drs. prove good, That will be at least a 2 day stay if all goes well.

I got a Shark Rumba a little while ago and decided it needed to clean the bedroom floor. Saw it head back there and for a very long time didn't see it come back. Finally went to check and it had dislodged the door stopper and the door closed. It was busy going all over yet. Had to laugh. As soon as I opened the door, it left and went to it's dock. Glad it didn't run out of energy under the bed!!

Its 9 PM and still 90 degrees. The sun is beastly when out in it. I think we had another record heat day. Out to dinner and of course church and it's plain hot!! Yesterday was 101 as was today. But the heat index went to 111 today from 103.

Roger got home on Thurs. and had to mow the lawn twice as well as clean up the branches that came down over the winter. Then he went to the post office to find out why we hadn't gotten mail since march!! Well, they were holding it all!! Frustrates me!! Anyway the water heater was leaking and Sat. he had help installing a new one. So he has been busy so far. I am sure he will find more like cleaning the garage today!

Sharon, I am going to try the tumeric. Keep hearing good things and this weather has my muscles in a miserable mood!!

Marianne, a good article but of little use for me right now. Thanks! Mom is with it and seriously planning her own life!! Stubborn as a mule too. She is very willing to admit that. I am driving her right now only because the nurse in the cath lab followed my directions and told her NO driving. That they would see after it's all over and she is well. Then I think we will be gone and I hope the gal that usually helps her gets back from CA.

TC, you are in my prayers as well and I thank you for prayers for us!!

Tammy, Congrats on the grand baby!! Glad he is here and looking great. Love the pictures.

Eileen

Beautiful pictures, Tammy. Youre going to have so much fun watching Spencer grow. emoticon

Sharon, thanks for mentioning Spark People mobile; Ill give it a try because Ive been having the same problem on my phone as Brenda.

Temps in the 90s today and we were outside much of the late morning, early afternoon watching flag football tournament. I hate wearing a hat but gave in, and lathered on the sunscreen. I used a great walking stick to help navigate the acres of fields. This was the last of grandsons games before they move this summer. The awards party was held at a pizza parlor but I stuck to lots of water and a healthy salad, no pizza. emoticon

Morning Team Mates!

It is overcast and very cool today but it's not supposed to rain. It rained really hard during the night so everything is wet and soggy!

Our friends are coming over to visit. Nala loves Ron and he hasn't seen her since last fall so they want to come here to visit. Nala gets her weekly bath on Sunday (usually in the evening) so Norm is giving her a bath now so she smells nice and looks pretty for Ron!

Brenda - I have two different SP apps on my phone. One is Spark People and the other is SparkPeople Mobile. I actually prefer the second one. If you have the first one, you can't go to the teams as it's mostly for tracking purposes.. At least as far as I know. The second one (if you have it) has three lines to the left of the Spark People logo at the top. If you click on the lines, it brings a drop down and then click on Community. I hope that helps.

Ruthann - in my opinion it sounds like they released your cousin too soon from the hospital. Hopefully they will keep her long enough this time. So is Terry going to Tennessee to visit his sister? It will give you a break from worrying about meals for him while dealing with Nancy.

Arlene - men are strange! I'm glad Darrell uses the computer. Norm used to get on mine and always screwed up my settings so I bought him a lap top of his own. He never uses it!! He even fought getting a smart phone but he got it free for signing a two year contract with Verizon. The contract is long expired but he does love the phone. And like Darrell he mostly uses it for googling. Although, he recently signed up to Facebook which surprised me.

TIME TIME TIME TIME....I am trying to fit in everything I need to do and then there are top priorities for everyone else. Still not feeling tip top but I can move better.

My cousin Nancy had the visiting nurse come to see her yesterday and she called me and I was told to get my cousin to the hospital immediately to ER. So I took her over and her breathing wasn't good and she was having head dizziness and her heart was going a mile a minute. I went home I made a vegetable soup out of all the veggies that we had left over from the party. I also made orange juice. I was up to my elbows when the visiting nurse called me. I saw her that morning for I picked her up some groceries. She seemed fine.
She will be 87 this year and I keep thinking if this operation was necessary.
We were ignored at the entrance to get her in. She finally said "I need help and what kind of an emergency entrance was this to hand her a bunch of paperwork. They ran and got a nurse.
She was put on a monitor and we sat for over 1.5 hours with no doctor in sight. Even the nurses were starting to ignore us. I kept going back and forth because Nancy wanted to go home and she was told if you go home that your medical will not pay your bill. They were going to keep her overnight and the poor thing has a sore throat and she isn't suppose to talk. They kept after her asking dumb questions. I told her to whisper so it wouldn't aggravate her throat. She told the nurse in the emergency room that she wanted to eat her supper at 6 pm. The nurse rolled her eyes and looked at me and we both laughed.

I went home and got dinner for Terry and the dogs. Then I went back to the hospital to see if they got her into a room. She was there and I asked her if she ate yet. She said she wasn't hungry. Well, you can tell what I was thinking. Yup a little spoiled. Ha

I was glad that they kept her and then I could go home and get some sleep where she would be in a safe place.

Well, I guess it may be time to check in with her and see if they are sick of her yet. Ha ha
I would just love a day off. It is coming. Terry is taking off to Tennessee Wednesday and I will have a lest confusion week. I hope. His sister is still alive but not doing well.

Everyone have a great day. Cheers!

Morning!

Our heat wave broke during the night and today is going to be in the low 70's with low humidity! It feels like heaven outside. Norm has been busy catching up on outdoor work that he's been putting off due to the heat.

I think Norm enjoyed his birthday yesterday. It was his first birthday on FB and he was so surprised at all the comments for him. He's learning FB etiquette so I always laugh at most of his posts. BUT, I am proud that this "old" man is trying to learn something new on the computer. Actually, it's his Smart phone that he's using. He hates computers!

Today I have to go buy groceries as I need more stuff for our Amish Friendship bread. Today is the day I have to give it to 3 new friends! I have 3 willing friends this time but it may be the last I pass it on. That gets old really fast.

Tonight we are going back to C&Z's as Norm wants 3 wood stumps in different heights for in our front yard. Casey still has a lot of fallen trees in his woods from a bad storm last year. So they are going for a walk to find the proper tree to cut in three pieces. Oh, BTW, our new Hydrangea bushes has a blue blossom on it ! We planted them just before the heat wave and we weren't sure they were even going to make it as they wilted so bad. So we have been babying them and it's paying off. They are loaded with blossoms.

Marianne - our darn hips! Mine was doing so good since I got the proper diagnosis and have been doing the exercises. However, when we were walking all over the beach yesterday, I mentioned to Norm that walking in the sand made my leg ache. By last night I was really hurting. Doing a little better today but walking in the sand set me back. Just a word of warning! I am so glad your colonoscopy is over! It's the prep work that is the worst. I have to go in July for my mammogram and a bone density test.

Arlene - enjoy your trip and safe travels. Check in when you can.

Ruthann - I hope Nancy is doing better now that she is recovering in her own home. Of course, it probably makes it harder on you with running back and forth. I hope it's not too long a drive between homes. I'm glad to hear your pain is improving. This getting old is not for sissies.

Tammy - so Spencer has arrived safe and wonderful! I hope mom is doing well. I am looking forward to seeing more pictures. The one on FB was dark and I couldn't see the baby too well.

TC - hope you're having a decent work day!

Congratulations, Grandma Tammy! emoticon

Wishing you a safe trip, Arlene, and glad youre getting a chance to go to Florida.

Sharon, hope Norm enjoyed his birthday yesterday. Thats quite a discount. emoticon

Yesterday was taken up with the colonoscopy; I appreciate the tests importance but so glad its over. My mammogram in a couple of weeks will seem like a walk in the park, lol.

Because some polyps were removed Im not allowed to take any pain reliever with aspirin or any NSAIDS for 2 weeks. Back to square one with an aching hip due to bursitis, which makes walking tough. I found some chair exercises, however I miss the long walks.

Hope all enjoy the week-end.

Going to make this quick. It's been a busy day.
I leave tomorrow for FL. The nice thing is my flight is 5:53 in the afternoon so we don't have to leave Minot super early. I'm flying out of Bismarck because Allegiant doesn't fly to the southeast from here. The prices are a lot cheaper and it's a non stop flight. Well I best get to bed. We had some thunderstorms roll through tonight and thank goodness they weren't severe. Some places in the state can't say that.

I will try to do my check ins but don't know if I'll get to posting. It will have to be from my phone or Nook and typing on those isn't fun.

Good night,
Arlene

Good morning
More blood test and X-Rays today so this will be short.

Cousin Nancy has a slit in the front of her neck. She is getting very horse throat.
She was told not to talk if she didn't have to. So I got her home and settled in and then between seeing doctors and getting things done I went to get her some soft foods.
I will go after my test today and check in on her.
She will need some more soft foods. So I will be busy today.

The pain is getting better???? Maybe it is the 5 pills of antibiotics that I am taking.
Everyone have a great day.

Happy Birthday again Norm. Have a wonderful day. And listen to your wife. She has been around a while and had kids and she does come through for you. Once in a while. hahaha

I missed checking in yesterday! Darn, I lost my Log In streak as well. Hate when that happens!

Went to our community coffee and from there to some friends of ours in the park. He needed to use Norm's muscles for a little bit so I went along to visit with her. It was just a very social day. Our evening was normal so I'm not sure why I didn't check in. I guess because I'm used to doing it earlier in the day.

Today is Norm's birthday and he's finally feeling normal again. That ear flushing really left him feeling very nauseous. I told him to put a couple drops of Peroxide in but he wouldn't do it. He finally called the Dr yesterday and talked to the nurse. She said "put a couple drops of Peroxide in and put cotton in" The cotton will pull both the peroxide and any solution that may still be there. So he did! And it worked. If we would have only listened to me, he would have felt better much sooner. Oh well, I'm glad he feels better on his birthday. Don't know what we're doing but his favorite restaurant gives you your age as a percentage off your bill. Considering Norm is 72 today he can get a good meal with a 72% discount!

SEK - emoticon
TC - sounds like you are getting prepared nicely for your camping. Have fun.
Heather - good job on the deck. Your place always looks so nice!
Marianne - our weather is just like yours. We've had a few days of high temps (90's) and lots of humidity. Now by the weekend it is only going to be in the 70's with less humidity. We are looking forward to it!

Ruthann - sorry you are not feeling well. I'm glad you have a dr apt so you can see him when you're not feeling well. Perhaps he can figure out why. Curious to hear how your cousin is doing post surgery.

Jacque - thanks for thinking of us as you continue your journey! You look so good and I'm proud of your determination to be the best you can be!

Tammy - so looks like you are probably a grandma by now. I hope all went well and mom and baby are doing fine.

Good morning from the West Coast,

Heather, its nice to see you have no snow. emoticon Yep, prepping for painting or staining is much worse than the actual painting. After five years in this house, I have some painting touch up to do and keep putting it off.

Ruthann, sorry youre not feeling great. Hope you can take it easy after you pick up your cousin and get some rest. emoticon

Jacque, really good to see you here. Your Fitbit steps have been wonderful Im jealous.

Tammy, emoticon

Nutty weather here, 65 degrees one day and 90 the next. Because I have a colonoscopy scheduled tomorrow I havent been taking any pain killers for 5 days my hip aches but Im still moving and doing some exercise. I was going to the pool today but its too darn cold. Pete has routine blood work and errands this morning; I have no excuses left not to tackle some of the cleaning and organizing tasks on my list. emoticon

DS just texted me to be on Baby Watch again - yes, again! - so I may be making a trip to the hospital here in a couple of hours. Fortunately, I don't have very far to go. She thought her water had broken on Tuesday, but it was "just" an amniotic fluid leak. I do hope it's tonight as it will be simpler with Joe and Cocoa. IF it isn't happening today, then her dr is going to induce labor on Friday, which happens to be their fifth wedding anniversary.

SS, love the outdoor decorating! Wow! Very nice. And the gender reveal emoticon

Joe's phone just rang and broke my train of thought...not that it takes much. emoticon

And now he is seeing about parts from the new deck umbrella we bought over the past weekend, so I guess I better go help.... emoticon Hello to all!

Good Afternoon

I've been busy up 'til now. As I was walking with Nala this morning, I ran in to two of my neighbors. We were standing out in front of our driveway so I invited them in for coffee. They seemed to enjoy that.

Norm had his annual dr apt this morning. All was fine but Norm complained about feeling dizzy and light headed. Come to find out one of his ears was packed with was so they flushed it out - TWICE! He's not feeling too good from that so he is sitting in the recliner (actually he is sleeping). So hopefully that will help.

We mentioned on Monday while at C&C's that we were thinking of buying a small freezer for the garage. Casey reminded us we gave them ours when we downsized and they are no longer using it. So they gave it back and now we have a freezer again!

Read all the posts but lots to do so I won't personally comment. Chat more later!

Good morning !

Marianne, good news about the house being sold, sorry for the bad news of expensive fridge fix.

Brenda, I look forward to your trip pics !!

Arlene, may I borrow your son ? LOL !! Really though, I have a 2TB back up drive and the back ups have it full and I have no clue how to clean it up w/o losing something, frustrating as all get out !

Sharon, exciting weekend. Loved all the pics from Hayden and Zona. the deck is beautiful ! I am glad to hear the turmeric is helping. I added that to my pill list about 6 months ago but really do not see any change, but my pain is usually my feet from never getting to sit at work.

PJ, staying busy, I see. Glad MIL has you and Frank to help.

Eileen, you and mom are still in my prayers. I know how you tolerate the heat so sorry for the triple digits. try to stay cool and hydrated.

Thanks for the positive thoughts about my work place. Maybe it helped.

I have 3 days off and need to prep and pack for vacation next week since next week is a 4 day work week. Not much time to do anything. my other brother Chris and his wife are planning on camping with us for just the weekend. Unfortunately his work is too busy for any more time off than that. I really enjoyed time with him and his kids last weekend, along with mom, and I work this coming weekend.

Work sux as usual. Yesterday 4 out of my 5 were on isolation precautions. Gown up, gown down. wash wash wash. I was so stinkin wet by the time I left work, I needed another shower. The charge nurse even agreed with me that I was crapped on yesterday with my group. It was so busy !! Usual float day to rock island.

Day is over so on to more joyful thoughts !! I get my new orthotic today and I hope it helps. My right heel is constantly burning now so something needs to change. $450 better help it. That is my vacay money going to health care...LOL !!

Marianne....Thanks for the link about seniors. It is good reading and helpful. My Mom is now on a Nursing Home list. Physically she is not too bad for 88 but her mental capacities are failing quite fast. She is now starting to forget family members ( some of that is their own fault for not visiting her often enough~~my sister and I were chuckling together last Sunday after visiting Mom and doing a few things for her~~we were saying~~she'll NOT forget us to soon~! LOL ...because both of us are always there and because both of us take a no nonsense approach with her ~~)

Alex and I are back at the house for a few days~~we came up Monday to go to our last Line Dancing class today. Will only start again next Fall.
We are hoping we will get dry and sunshine here for a few days so we can get at the patio deck staining....and cut the grass and weed the gardens etc....before we head back to the trailer....

I have read all the posts but did not make notes so other than to feel Eileen's problems sorting her Mom and Sharon's great news about her great grandSON....I will post again another time~~

Good afternoon,

Eileen, you have your hands full with taking care of your mother. I hope some of her friends are around to provide a bit of socializing and the procedure goes well tomorrow. You have a lot of experience but I found this site helpful, and have passed it on to others who said it helped. Scroll past the housing stuff there are articles and blogs about dealing with different issues with aging parents.

Brenda, you and Mike have tons more patience with his brother than I would, thats for sure. Good to hear youre planning a trip to Indiana and hope youre able to leave soon.

Sharon, Casey did a beautiful job on the decks, but I would expect nothing less from Norms son. emoticon I do follow Zona Cooks too much delicious food but fun. Ive been using turmeric and will check out the supplement. I am determined to do more walking so Im committed to my stretching exercises and pt. Limiting myself to 6-8,000 steps seems to help also.

Pete and I ran errands today; I had to get some shelf organizers because I cleaned out my linen closet yesterday. Theres a huge pile to give away and its so nice to be able to find things. Now I have to tackle my closet, a huge project. Petes half is impeccably organized. emoticon

Our next RV trip is the second week of June, and then Petes oldest DD, her husband and their 4 children (ages 15-24) are flying from Seattle to stay with us for 3 days. We bought air mattresses and Im cleaning like crazy. Windows are on my list!

Good Morning!
Yesterday was an equally fun day for Norm and I. Because it would be a long day, we took Nala with us. She was brutalized by Bug but she quickly learned how to be aggressive when he crossed her boundaries. Over all, they had a good time.

Zona's first batch of home made wine was bottled this week so we popped a cork and had a glass of predinner wine. Our dinner was so good. Zona made a Blueberry/Lemon Cheesecake for our dessert. She had to take pictures of it before we could eat it so for those that follow Zona Cooks be sure and watch for the cheesecake pictures! They still are not finished with the lower level but they are making headway. So I still didn't take pictures of it. But I did want to show off the decking and fireplace that Casey put in.

As you step out of the house you have a very nice upper deck.

At the foot of the steps is a dining area and to the right on the lower deck is this wonderful sitting area. Notice Casey buried his beloved Stormy and put a cross on his grave.

We enjoyed the area until it got so warm we came in the house to enjoy the A/C!

Eileen - I hope you can manage the heat and your mom by yourself. I am assuming Roger got off this morning as planned.

PJ - it appears everyone suffered from heat and humidity over the Holiday. We broke record high temps on Sunday and Monday when it was 93 and 95 degrees. It's nice you have amble forewarning of moving MIL so you don't have to rush to get things done.

Marianne - I hope both our hips are better by the rally as I plan to do a lot of walking!. In honor of Memorial Day, the bridge displayed our flag.

I probably mentioned it before but my pain has really improved since I started taking the Tumeric Curcumin w/Bioperine. It is especially helpful for inflamation. I mentioned it to my doctor and he said keep taking it and use tumeric in cooking as well. Because it helped me so much, I wanted to share with you. It's a cheap supplement but worth it's weight in gold.

Brenda - we were posting at the same time! I am amazed at Mike's brother. Boy, Mike and him are polar opposites! I don't know how the two of you deal with him. You both have my respect. I am sure you are looking forward to your next trip. I don't know about you but when we leave, I put all the emotional stuff at home on hold and enjoy my time away!

Good morning everyone , Eileen I wishing safe travel for Rodger and you take care of yourself too.

We didn't do a darn tootin thing all weekend stayed around the house did go to the Cemetery's Sunday but just puttered around here .

Since we got back from our trip Mike's brother has needed help on his car which is a 95 and draining him dry for repairs has asked Mike for help Alot been over here and getting to be a regular thing . I don't mind him coming over but it is getting to much and a habit .

Well he called the other night he didn't do the paperwork for the mobile home he owned ( sold to to they folks in the park and they torn all of them down ) and got the tax bill he was upset but Mike has been after him to get it done was to be done in Jan & I called the tax people what to do in Jan and relayed it to him he went but talked to someone else and didn't finish doing the paper work any way we 3 had a Heated emoticon discussion on the phone Friday and he hung up on us he was yelling and screaming like a 2 year old throwing a fit .Mike got mad and said yea let's see how long it take for him to call back .. Have not heard a word since then so sort of nice & quite weekend if you know what I mean !

It was getting to the point Mike was helping him more with his stuff and not getting anything done he had on his to do list .

We are planning another trip going to go Indiana we have a couple place on the list Cliffy State Park & Charles Town State Park, and Lincoln State park don't know how long we will be gone just figuring it all out .

Really don't know much else thanks for letting me vent .

Have a great day stay safe & healthy.

Not much going on here besides the heat and humidity. So haven't posted for a while.

Mom's been the main focus with her Dr. Appts. Have to do pre registration tomorrow for a heart cath. They are certainly taking their time to do the valve. Mom has decided a wheelchair is her mode of travel. Not sure if she is giving up or trying to make a statement. Wouldn't put it past her. Roger is leaving early in the AM and he told her that I wouldn't be able to take her in the W/C with my back. She didn't answer so will see how we do things now. Weds. will be the cath. Then a Dr. visit to set up a CT scan. Don't know when or for sure where we will go for that. Being her nurse maid now.

Sunday 2 guys at church decided the pot lucks were not going to stop with us "gone" for the summer. So had that and about 90 people attended. Also have the new pastor for his 1st Sunday with us. He is living across the street from us so will be helping orient him to the park and area.

Today we had "lunch" at the hall and a short program. Large portion of pork ribs that had a delicious dry rub. baked bean, potato salad and a jello poke cake. Stuffed with 2 ribs, beans and of course the cake. We all brought 4 ribs home to eat for dinner. Too much for lunch so no dinner of ribs! A few strawberries and a dinner roll was all either of us.

I did read all the posts and won't comment tonight. Everyone sounds busy as usual. Glad the computers are working and that the baby reveal was a lot of fun!! You will certainly enjoy having little ones around.

Slow & steady makes a winner of us. Even if we hit pitfalls, get up. Know that a new day is right around the corner.

Frank is smoking some spare ribs and rotisserie chicken. While I am going through old photo albums while cleaning out a closet getting it empty to be painted in the near future.
We are definitely skipping over spring and into summer hot and humid weather.

Spend time with Frank's family yesterday are starting to pack up MIL and cleaning up the fence line at her place.

Arlene, isnt it great to have kids who can help us with our computers? emoticon My son and daughter get questions from both of us now, and Pete is pretty handy with technology. However, the IPhone can be a challenge, LOL.

Sharon, wonderful pictures, your grandson and his wife look so happy. You and Norm are in for some good times.

I cant tell if my hip and leg are improving or if Im just getting used to the pain. One day Ill get 10,000 steps and the next barely 5,000. Still doing the stretching exercises but I am stopping the pain relievers they dont seem to help much. Weve been taking care of DDs 3 year old border collie this week-end and shes great for walks. Fortunately shes well-behaved because her energy level is exhausting! emoticon

Arlene - your salad sounds good but then I like Asian salads. I'm glad you are doing something fun today!

TC - may you have a decent work load today.

Our Gender Reveal party was fun. They only invited immediate family and grandparents so it wasn't too large a crowd. We had to vote when we arrived and if you voted baby girl you got a pink clothespin to wear. A boy vote got you a blue clothespin. They served a very nice lunch and finally around 9pm they gathered us all together. They had a large board with a bunch of balloons on it. Both Hayden & Whitney got a blow dart and they took turns popping balloons with the blow dart. A lot of them had ? under them but if it had a number, a firework went up. Most of them were white but finally the firework was definitely very blue. It was a clear indication that it's a boy! Hayden was so happy and excited he jumped in the pool, clothes and all. They are both very happy and I know this baby will be loved by many. It was a fun evening. Here's a couple pictures.

We are about to head out to Casey and Zona's for our Grill Out for today. Another fun day on tap.

Busy day here. I was doing the house cleaning (what I can) that I didn't get done yesterday. Tonight I made a new salad to take to the pot luck at the Legion tomorrow. I think it's pretty yummy. It's a sweet dressing pasta / vegetable salad. Jenny says it reminds her of an asian salad. The wild thing is the original recipe said it served 16 people so I doubled it, WOW do I have a huge bowl of salad. I'm not sure how big they thought the serving size should be, it didn't say. They do ask for a "big" salad so thats what they're getting.

I'm doing this on my Nook because Jenny is getting some things loaded onto the computer. Both kids are really good at it. Jenny is the teacher and is really good at teaching us what needs to be done.

Well i best get to bed, it's another long day tomorrow.

Good Morning!
It is a hot and sunny day here but not complaining! Fireworks at the Reveal party tonight so I hope the rain stays away.

Just a relaxing day today. I am making a couple salads for our grill out tomorrow - that's it. I have been walking already and did my exercises for my hip!

Marianne - I can sure relate to your low step count. It's difficult to walk when it hurts. The dr did say that walking actually will help us so I have pushed myself to at least get 5-6,000 steps a day. Yesterday I got 7,683 steps in so I'm gaining on it! Our pool was opened yesterday and it was packed. I'm going to wait until after the Holiday Weekend to go myself.

Arlene - I did see your FB posts. It was nice of you to acknowledge all those who have passed. You are also lucky that your DS can help with your computer. Our neighbor came over the other day. He was having computer issues and was hoping I could help - NO! It appears when the Windows 10 upgraded, it wiped out his entire computer. He can't even sign on to the internet without an OS. I told him he needed to go to the Geek Squad or a computer repair place. Then this week my computer updated and shut down. I was afraid I might have the same problem but I was OK. Computers are a necessary evil, in my mind!

Hi everyone,
It's been a long long day. We did our annual cemetery trip. Some of you probably saw what I posted on Facebook. Then Brian came over to try and get our computer in line again. He's tried everything he could thing of with our totally wiping it out. It looks like what he tried tonight is going to work. The bad part is that I'm going to have to reinstall a lot of my programs. He did make sure that all of our documents, downloads and pictures were saved on my external hard drive. I couldn't figure out how to get to the stuff on there because it was one of the things that wasn't allowing us to get to it.

Well I really should get to bed if I want to get to church tomorrow. Jenny is coming to Minot to fly out to Florida on Tuesday. She'll be bringing her kitties here to stay. She'll be in FL at the same time as me, we'll see if we run into each other. And actually we won't be too far apart but she'll be there with the Minot orchestra kids.

Good night,
Arlene

Loved the summary, Tammy! emoticon You have a knack, LOL!

Sharon, looking forward to the reveal too. emoticon We are visiting with friends from Idaho this week and they brought their 10 month old great-grandson to the barbecue. I miss having a baby in the family.

I managed some stretching exercises this morning that have not increased my hip pain but even Pete is doing better with his steps this week than I am. emoticon

Were home to catch up after being gone most of the week, and tomorrow is the Mushroom Mardi Gras, woohoo. Lots of wine and mushroom tasting plus music. Hopefully I can walk around for an hour or two. Monday were meeting our friends for lunch before they return to Idaho. If the temps go up to 80, like theyre predicted, Ill also be spending time in the pool this week-end.

So what is everyone's plans for the Holiday? We have our big reveal party tomorrow and spending Monday at Casey and Zona's. We spent this morning with our friends so we got some socializing in.

I have to go pick up a few fresh veggies so we are off to the store shorty.

We have now decided to replace all the boards on our deck; wonder if the discussion here had something to do with it? emoticon We had gone back and forth about what we wanted to do back there - pay to get the old deck removed, pour a concrete slab, cover it and enclose it, etc. We've enjoyed it as it has been except we had never covered it, etc. but now will just replace boards. Joe went and bought a large umbrella at Lowe's this morning, so I guess at least part of it will be covered when we want it to be. LOL

I've read the posts each day. Chris is out of the hospital - YAY! - SS's neighbor passed emoticon - Marianne's daugher's house sold - YAY! - Ruthanne had a great time - YAY! I was right about Arlene getting ready to leave soon - emoticon - TC is working but has had some campfires in the new firepit - emoticon - oh, yes, SS won $$ - emoticon - Heather's deck pictures likely inspired me - emoticon - Eileen's mom is having some answers, but is still hard emoticon - I am sure I have missed something...

Finally able to post, although Ive been reading the thread each day. We returned home yesterday to a failing refrigerator and lots of chores / laundry. DD and the boys left soon after we arrived to go visit their new community for the holiday week-end. And the good news, their house sold Thursday, as quickly as expected.

Today I subbed in a first grade class, something I agreed to a couple of weeks ago when it seemed like a good idea, LOL. Sweet kids, frenetic day, and I just want to collapse, but have to finish 30 minutes of cardio. I made the appliance repair appointment online and Pete stayed home this morning to meet the repair guy; cost a small fortune but the fridge is finally fixed.

PJ, glad your son is out of the hospital, and hope his diagnosis is a wake-up call. Its tough to watch our kids make unhealthy choices.

TC, I thought of you while we toasted marshmallows this week at the 3 campfires we attended. The RV park had fire pits - many here do not and dont allow fires.

Heather, your deck is looking good, and you still have to paint it??

Sharon, sounds like youre spending some of your casino winnings on plants for the yard. emoticon

Ruthann, it rained here this morning! Brief and light, but rain. Fortunately its supposed to warm up to the 80s by Monday.

Chris is now home. The boys leave late this afternoon to go to momma. I think they are having second thoughts but also believe that they will be with her all summer unless she sends them back. Praying for good outcome either way for the boys happiness and well being.

I think and hope Chris got a good scare so he and TT will eat like they should. My brother played the diabetic game of eating wrong and adjusting his insulin. When he got cancer and lost so much weight his diabetes went away. Too late for him to enjoy it long

Good day all !

Sharon, so sorry your neighbor did not pull through. Prayers out. The kids will need that support losing both parents so close together. Your doctor sounds good. I hope the precancerous spots will not be worse than you are thinking.

PJ, Sorry DS is diabetic now. I hope he does his own research to learn more about it. The gastric bypass surgery will not do any good for him unless he is really ready to change his lifestyle for good. This is no quick fix like a lot of people think. I still say if you have to change for the surgery, why not skip the surgery and just change ? I hope he does not fall into the trap of thinking he can eat whatever he likes and the insulin will correct it. that will cause his organs to fail faster and he will be sicker faster. I am pleased to see you threw out the atkins bars. They were addictive to me and once I started reading more labels, I figured out why. that processed stuff is so bad. It is a royal PITA to be cooking all the time when there are so many convenience foods out there but it just is not worth the chemicals and weight gain/ addictions tome. Frank sounds like he will have fence chores for a while.

Marianne, loved the dune buggy pics. Thanks for sharing.

Brenda, I love your pictures and am happy you are getting some good walks in. Also glad you like your new doc.

Eileen, HUGS !! you have a lot on your plate right now. I am praying hard for you and mom. It scares the crap out of me hearing she has to have 2 surgeries that close together at her age and I am praying she does well. So many older people get pneumonia, clots, depressed, anesthesia side effects, etc.

Ruthann, I am picking up that you are staying positive but are currently unhappy with your weight. sometimes when 1 person in the house changes a habit the other sees the improvement and follows suit. I hope you can do it GF, because Terry needs his girl to be healthy and you need him to be healthy so you can keep enjoying your trips and each other.

Tammy, I hope DS kidney stone passed and how exciting ! New baby here SOON !!!

Arlene glad to hear the eye apt went well.

Heather, Is mum currently in assisted living ? If not, that may be an option if you have it available. Still some independence but group activities and meals provided. The deck will look great once done. it already looks improved. You are currently leading the pack in your example of healthy habits. I am so happy for you even though you would like to be at your ideal weight NOW...LOL !! Keep pushing. Any small loss is still a loss.

Quiet rest day here. Wanted to go camping soooo bad but the parks are all filled so home it is. We will have a fire as long as the wood lasts and maybe get some wood tomorrow.
I do have my exercise in. Next wed, I get my new orthotics and I am hoping they help. My PF has been acting up a lot !! Probably nothing to do with 16 hr work days, 10K or more steps a day...LOL !!

Good Afternoon
We had a fun morning! We picked up Zona and took Casey's truck and went to the nursery.Between Zona and our purchesrs, we filled the whole back of the truck. This nursery is so big, they have three different places to eat. We went to the pizza place and ordered a pizza. Zona took the leftovers home with her!

Now we are home and Norm is busy planting our purchases. We bought a couple hundred dollars which I think is enough fir the front. We will have to go back for the backyard and deck. it gets more expensive every year!

Heather - Our deck is going to need to be redone next summer. It's not too bad yet but it's beginning to show deterioration. It has been five yrs since Norm rebuilt it. It basically is just going to need repainting.

Brenda I am glad you liked the new Dr. I find the newer and younger doctors seem more up to date.

Both Alex and I got our exercise today.....

Lifted up 7 rotten boards on patio deck.....long process because boards kept breaking off....nails and screws had to be taken out before new boards could go in....

While Alex put all the screws back in the new boards.....I cleaned up the front and back yards with raking and lawn mowing.....after he was finished....I pressure washed all the deck ready for painting ( on a day it does not rain..... emoticon )

We were knackered when we finally got done....then I had to clean up and go get a few groceries....and Alex helped me prep our food for supper.....

Been a emoticon day!!!!

Good Afternoon!
Sorry I didn't check in yesterday. Some days life gets away from me. We went to a different casino yesterday with our friends about 1 1/2 hr away so it was an all day trip! But worth it, as we had fun and both Norm and I won over $300 each. You probably saw it on FB! But we were both pretty happy. Ron won over $200 as well. Poor Diana, didn't win and in fact lost her money!

When we got home, I had to run to get my new prescriptions. Now I am officially on Metformin and Prilosec. Seems my constant cough isn't allergies or sinus. It is coming from acid reflux. I love my doctor as he's spot on.

This morning at our community coffee, the Park Manager came in to tell that group that Sharon passed away this morning. It was the Sepsis they are saying. My heart is heavy as we talked almost every day and I really felt so bad when Ed passed last Thursday. Now just one week later, she has also passed. Such a shock as she's been healthy. I feel so bad for their two sons to lose them both within a week. However, I worry about what I would do if I lost Norm and she was really worried too about surviving Ed so perhaps she just didn't have the will to fight. They were good Christian people and I am happy to think of them both together, happy and healthy with our Lord.

I am not going to comment on all the posts as there is so many posts I've missed. I did read them all and just know you are all on my mind and like Tammy, I say a prayer as I am reading the posts that I think need prayers.

Son is doing much better. He will probably be moved out of ICU today and get him started on insulin shots. If they can get the dosage figured out he may get to go home Friday or Saturday. He feels much better and has good color and is eating. We have been surprised what they have said he can eat. Potatoes bread fruit etc. I thought all that would be a NONO since they are high in carbs and sugars. The dietician instructor is supposed to be there this morning to talk to them. He got lots of diet paperwork yesterday to look through. I also had bought my brother a diabetic cookbook that I will give to Chris

Taking MIL to get groceries this morning then will go see him and then go get our groceries. Frank started cleaning ot the fence line at his moms. Over the years they had dogs escape so they just kept putting metal siding pieces and wood pieces at the bottom of the fence to keep the various dogs in. He said it took him about 4 hours just to do one side and he still has 3 to go. So he was hot and tired and sore.

Heather thanks for that image now I understand what the surgery is and does. They are waiting now to see if insurance will cover it and with this hospital stay that may pursuade the insurance to cover the surgery. Yes DS definitely knows he needs to make a lifestyle change and it will be good for TT also.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Hi everyone. Short note. An all dayer at the clinic. Mom had the Echo done. I got to stay and watch the computer images. The tech told us to go and ask for some time today instead of coming back on Fri. for results. Te Dr. was in and he would have the results shortly. So we went out to lunch and then returned to wait again. Got in a room and waited a little while. Diagnosis severe Aortic Valve stenosis the main diagnosis. Sh is now scheduled for next Weds. to have a heart cath or called a femoral arteriogram. Checking the blood vessels on the outside of the heart to be sure they are good before the valve is replaced. They will place stents if any blockage. Once that's done, she goes in for a CT scan and more testing. I just hope she hangs in there through all this before they place the valve. Tonight I called her cell phone and she didn't pick up so called the land line and it rang and rang. She was terribly exhausted after today, I worried! Over to the house to see her talking on the phone that I had tried to call her on. That's my entire day!! Going to bed early tonight.

Jason called and said the lawn must be 2 feet high with grass. He was going to mow some this evening. Went into the house and found the water heater leaking all over the laundry room. So Roger told him he would leave here on Tues. or very early Weds. so that he could work on the water heater and probably buy a new one. Then work on the yard again. I bet the granddaughters were out helping their dad pick up branches and make the lawn mowable.

Read all and not commenting tonight. Will check in later when I can. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!! It's a nice long one too!

Eileen

Hi Everyone~~

I tried posting this morning before going swimming via my tablet~~I hit something I shouldn't have and lost a nice long post~~
So here I am back here again tonight....to see if I can get it done this time~~ emoticon ) ON my LapTop! )

Tammy.... emoticon on getting more steps in~~good doggie emoticon AND how exciting waiting for the new arrival eh?

Ruthann~~ you sure look good in your photo on here so your weight gain has not done you much harm in looks girl~~but keep an eye on your health....that is the main thing... emoticon

TC~~hope this work stint is better than your last one was~~thinking of you my wee friend~~ emoticon

Eileen~~so emoticon for all the problems you are going through with your Mom...good that she is healthy enough for surgery but a big worry just the same. I feel bad seeing you write that Roger us headed back home and you have to stay put....but it is understandable that you need to see your Mom through all this.....

Arlene~~chuckling about your carpet disappearing from the road side. We had a large HEAVY plasma TV a few years back....we needed a trolley to get it out there! In less than hour it was gone~~ HUGE cracked screen and all! We never saw who picked it up....but I hope their back did not get thrown out~~ emoticon
Another man's garbage is someone else's treasure as they say eh?

Brenda~~nice to see you are getting out and away from the house off and on...and a hike to boot~ emoticon there girl!

Marianne~~ emoticon photos of the dune buggies! I would be like you~~and need to have a shot at driving it~~ emoticon

PJ~~wow...that is a high blood sugar for sure~~I hope this hospital stay helps your son realize he needs to do something about his health. ...the name of the surgery most often done is called ~~Gastric bypass surgery

I know a lot of people who have had this done and it works but the patient needs to want to change their life style as well~~

WG~~you are some busy woman with all your grands. Not sure who is busier....you or Ruthann emoticon

Sharon~~I agree with your Doctor about the low carb ~~it is VERY restrictive and not for everyone to use. I know a few younger people who are successful with it but I think that is the operative word~~YOUNGER~~ emoticon emoticon
I think as we get older we need to get ALL food groups in every day to get all the vitamins etc...we need. I still believe that eating our vitamins are better than vitamin pills for us unless we have a health problem that is preventing absorption of them....
Even my SW has been too restrictive for me where my bread/rolls/crackers are concerned. Once a day for breads etc....is fine for short periods but I am finding that I need to go back to counting 1200 calories and using my breads in the count on some weeks. So I switch back and forth lately.
Doing this is still working but my progress is slow~~ like this wee turtle~~ emoticon but I try to keep in mind that that wee turtle WON the race emoticon

I stayed the same last Weigh-In but I see some drop this week~~

Your sugars and hip problems will be better too if you lose some weight.....Maybe it is time for another Summer Challenge? emoticon

Trailer is now parked at the campground in my hometown ( Miramichi ) We are coming back and forth to home here to get some things done ...
Patio needs some boards replaced
Then needs painting ( AGAIN! groan....lol...I really like painting....LOL )
Some trees need felling before a strong wind brings them down
We need to dig out some drainage trenches by the shed door as we had a flood of water in the shed when the Spring thaw started this year
My gardens need weeding and new flowers etc....
PLUS my house inside needs a REAL good cleaning!
Came back Monday for Tuesday's Line Dancing ....and there is one more next Tuesday that we will come back for as well...

In Miramichi....I will give my sister a break by taking turns to take Mom for drives ( which she loves ) and take Mom to visit her old haunts when she was a girl and visiting relatives ( my sister hates visiting these older people with Mom ....LOL )
Both my sister and myself are also going to try hard to get Mom placed before the winter starts again....Mom agrees to go to an informal Nrsg Home in Miramichi and it will be good for her as she gets lonesome in her apartment now that she does not go out so much~~

Today I called Prime Link to check on Out-Of-Country Emergency Health Insurance. It will be fairly expensive but better than paying out thousands upon thousands if one of us has something happen when we are in Michigan

My fingers are getting sore...LOL...time to shut this down!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

We went to the eye appts today. They went well. Actually Darrells couldn't have gone better. His eyes have actually improved, go figure. Well mine have done some thing similar except my cataracts are growing.but he said that they aren't at the point that he would say "get them fixed". We know this kid so well that he knows what to say to us. Darrell just needs new glasses because his glasses are so old they really are wearing out. And mine he just tweeked the prescription a bit to try to give me some more time before I would need surgery. It looks like my glucoma is ok unless something comes up from the test he took just before I left the clinic.

Eileen - You certainly have your hands full. Your mom does have some problems.

Ruthann - You do need to take some time for yourself. Those 3 meals a day are good for you as long as they are "good" meals. And I do know that isn't easy. As I've gotten older I've gotten so bad about eating "right". And it seems like I've gotten so picky I don't like the foods Darrell likes to eat. His foods that he likes aren't always good for you either.

Yes Tammy, I leave the 2nd of June for FL. I only hope the weather has decided to settle down when I go. It sounds like they've got a lot of rain in the fore cast right now. We could use some of it here in ND.

Well I best go get things ready for TOPS for tomorrow.

Arlene

Hi!

It was good to read of improvement in SS's neighbor. Eileen, it does read as if a rough time with your mom. TC, I am glad you are having your campfires as you can, just wish you could more often!

PJ, prayers for DS and TT in this health emergency. [Actually I say a prayer as I read everyone's posts.]

Arlene, hi! It's so nice DH is able to do so much in remodeling/building. Aren't you getting ready to go to FL? [Sorry if I have forgotten since reading.]

Hello to all! We are now at the less-than-two weeks until DIL's due date. DS is back to work, so I am thinking his kidney stone passed. It hadn't the first couple of days when I specificially asked him. Their air was finally fixed. Joe's pain meds continue to help some. Cocoa is having more good times most days. Tammy is getting more steps as she takes Cocoa around the neighborhood a few times per day as the weather allows - it is showing up on the iphone as I'm not wearing the fitbit right now.

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

OK I failed at trying to keep the weight off. Since moving in with Terry. Life has been so much fun with him that I have totally lost control. I have gained 35 pounds since I met him and am not proud of it. Cooking 3 meals a day sucks and eating 3 meals a day sucks.
He has a sugar cabinet that makes Walmart cookie section look bare.
Too easy for me to get at. I am craving sugar and I need to do something about it.
I have 44 plus people coming Sunday and I swear Monday has got to be the beginning of something. I have been paying $10 a month for 8 months for a gym and I have never gone. I seem to have no time. Making time seems like no way. with working with my cousin since September and go go going all the time. Trust me when I have time I am too tired to do anything
AM I BITCHING. YES. PROBABLY AT MYSELF.
Anyway, Lots to do and the sun still isn't shining so the Pool may be a little chilly. and this weather is coming off of the ocean and it's just not burning off. We took the MH to Hisperia yesterday and it was beautiful. I hated to drive back into the dreary skies. Reminded me of 34 years in WA.
I did workout in the back yard yesterday and got some overgrown weeds cut down. I will try and finish it today for the gardeners come tomorrow. They can clean up the mess that I made.
House cleaners came Monday and the house inside looks great. So things are working. The pool guy come Thursday to pick all the artificial flowers that has fallen into the pool while we were gone.
More planning on what to buy,
Marianne: Good try with the cookies. She would only fight me. She is feeling that she is at the end and don't care. She is being operated on the first of June for a pinched nerve in her arm. She will be cut in the throat to have it fixed. Looks scary to me.
Got to go. I talked Terry into a real breakfast this morning and not a sweet roll.

GIFT TO GOD, YOURSELF AND LOVED ONES.

Sorry to have been MIA also. Just haven't felt up to chatting. It's been a tough week already and going to get tougher. I have blogged a little about mom who keeps us on the road. Mon. Cardio appt, he said she would be a candidate for the TEAVR stent but has to go back tomorrow for another Echo cardiogram the Fri back for the results. We will then be told when and if the CT scan from the neck down to pelvis will be done. After that will be an angiogram where they go through the groin and possibly place stents in heart arteries if clogged. 2 weeks later they will again take her to surgery to place the aortic valve with a TEAVR stent. This is 2 surgeries with anesthesis in 2 weeks. He tells her it will be maybe a day in the hospital but her age is certainly against her rapid recovery. Today when I went over to play cards, she had done one thing just before I got there and was sitting in a chair short of breath and pale white. Also very nasty attitude too. Sun. night she asked Roger to come to the house to take her by wheelchair to play poker with her friends. Any activity or exersion knocks her down. I don't think she can walk 10 feet without stopping. A rapid decline!!!

Off to another subject. We all seem to be dealing with some tough issues. Sharon, I pray for your friend/neighbor. Sepsis will knock out the kidneys and so good to see she is waking and some better kidney function.

PJ, that blood sugar is definitely one that belongs in ICU for the best care. He is certainly going to need a lifestyle change. My prayers go out to you and to Sharon's friend too.

I won't chat about the other posts but will say I will try to keep up on reading but won't know anything more until Fri. Roger will be heading home on Mon. or Tues. unless there are big changes here. Gotta get to his cousin reunion and get the yard work done! Don't know how long he will be gone. He does so much for mom. Guess I pick up where he leaves off.

Eileen

I'm sorry I've been MIA. I just can't get caught up with myself since I was sick. So much to get done before I leave on June 2nd for Florida.

I did try to read the posts, I got through a few but not all yet. Everyone has so much going on, some good and some not so good.

I did get to TOPS SRD on Saturday and enjoyed it very much. I has gotten smaller over the years just like everything else. The nicest about it is one of our young girls was given recognition for being a Div winner for last year. I've mentioned these 2 young sisters that joined our chapter last year in the middle of the year and they have been a tremendous asset and such nice young ladies. My assist weight recorder and I drove down together and we had a very nice time.

Darrell had been busy with the living room yet . He got most of the laminate flooring laid. The funny thing about that is we tore out the old carpet and pad to put out with the garbage for the special pick up day and would you believe the garbage men didn't have to even lift it :). Our neighbor said it was gone by 4:30 am when he went to work. I can't believe anyone would want it, it was so bad.

We have eye appointments tomorrow. We'll see what the dr has to say, I feel my eyes have gotten pretty bad. I have a hard time focusing on so much. I only hope my glucoma hasn't gotten worse because if I'm not mistaken that's something that can't be reversed.

The fun part of tomorrow is that I also have an appointment for a pedicure, yea. I always feel better after those.

Well I best go. Hopefully I'll find time to get back on her in the next couple of days.

PJ, keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Sounds like lots of stress for everyone involved. emoticon

Sharon, sorry about your blood sugar level but glad your doctor is on top of it. I had a precancerous leison removed from my face last month, and hip bursitis diagnosed last week. My doctor said take Aleve and avoid painful movement - Im not happy with that and want PT, so it may mean another trip to his office. I did find some stretching exercises for hip bursitis online but too soon to tell if they work.

TC, as if the cinnamon rolls werent enough temptation, our group is making ice cream for tonight. emoticon

Ruthann, if Nancy has enough room in her freezer, wrap some Oreos in aluminum foil and sneak into her freezer. Next time she calls and its not convenient, tell her where to find them.
emoticon I did this with treats for my mother.

Pete and I just finished playing miniature golf after a day of exploring Pismo with friends. The sun is out! We go home Thursday, just in time for the Mushroom Mardi Gras on the weekend in our town. emoticon

The dune buggy ride was fun; I actually drove on the straightaway for a while. Pete rocked and rolled on the sand dunes.

PJ - so sorry for Chris. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and his family. Poor TT is dealing with so much right now. May the Lord give her strength. I never thought about swimming to help my hip. Our pool opens on Memorial Day so I will be able to go and try some swimming!
