I am new to tapping also. It has been very helpful for me it has helped with pain in my body to emotional pain. I have been more pleasent with my husband and kids.
I hope you have seen results in your life...let me know.

I'm tapping on my resistance to keep a food diary...even though I resist keeping my food diary because it seems controlling and like punishment I completely love and accept myself and am ready to release this resistance.

In my first training, it was all the therapists concerned about tapping and saying the negative stuff, thinking that it worked like CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy, where what you think is leading you in that direction.

This is different. First there is the setup statement - Even though I have this problem, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. This is done 3 x at the Karate chop point and it interrupts self sabotage. Then the negative thoughts that you are thinking anyway are accompanied with the tapping -- the tapping is clearing the energy meridians. The validation comes from saying and acknowledging how you feel, but the clearing and the set-up statement are in effect, and this starts changing your brain and dislodges the negative stuff. It changes the association and how the brain stores this negative talk. So, yes, there is a release even without the positive. The positive is powerful though, both in resource tapping, and Installing the positive (tapping on how you want to feel). Resource tapping is using a time when you felt the way you want to feel - you tap and bring it more into your awareness.

You can customize this, so yeah, go ahead and release the negatives, and install the positives!

I'm going to give it a good try and see what happens. At first I was a bit concerned about all the negative talk, but evidently that is what's needed and believe me I have plenty to complain about...LOL

I was watching one of the YOUTUBES by one of the guru's of tapping and one of her sessions was nothing but the negative with no positive at the end. Does that work, I wonder?

I wasn't going to respond as I have to get off for work, but I've had excellent results for my tendinitis shoulder (on & off pain for 20 years - not an issue now, now my shoulder tells me things, but I don't get limited by the pain), I've been able to shift my choices, energy, perspective, and shift from old pain to a place of greater authenticity. Furthermore, I use this with clients. It's the fastest way to reverse anxiety and panic that I have seen in . . .how many years . . .since 1983 professionally and 1976 as a student in mental health - this is the fastest thing for reversing anxiety and panic as well as facilitating healthy boundaries.

It's not a fad as much as it is leading edge. It's slow to be accepted in my field A) because it's open to anyone, diluting the specificity of the mental health training and B) it doesn't come from a traditional psychiatric or a break off of the traditional psychiatric pathways. Energy psychology is thus considered "experimental" but it really doesn't take much experiment to find out how well it works. Now they just need all the journal articles and research . . .

Try to be specific when you tap and listen to what you think and feel when you tap. The stuff that "comes up" is the deeper stuff that needs attention. EFT will access that in much the same way that hypnosis does, but without requiring a trance state. Tap on the stuff that comes up - and even if the focal part isn't shifting yet, you may find that other things in life shift for the better == tends to happen when you clear debris . . . .

I'm new to tapping, (a few days), and I've been watching the activity of the group and it doesn't seem like much is going on. So, I'm wondering if most have stopped Tapping because it doesn't work for you? I hope it works because I'm a diabetic and would love to handle some eating issues with Tapping.

Anyone still Tapping?
