Okay, haber chicas..."motivation" as per dictionary.com means: to provide with a motive or motives; incite; impel.

So it's not really about being strict, it's more about what moves you, why are you doing this? What is your ultimate goal? I personally believe that motivation and/or stive build character, and it keeps you far away from complacency. It also brings awareness. You're more aware of yourself; in other words, you're more in tune with your true self.

So; for instance, if you're trying to lose weight why? Is it to be healthy, fit into that little black dress, look good for a wedding? Keep that in mind, so when you're about to have that second helping of food remind yourself of your goal.

Yes, except the time I did it without tracking and was succesfull because of the exercising, see one of my first blogs, I am only succesfull if I track down everything.
I have just started doing this again. So for now I am fine. Only, I get sick and tired at one point of tracking everything down. It shouldn't be necessary.
But I have made a plan, one year of tracking down, the second half tracking it and by the third year I need to be able to do it without. Always keeping in mind that if some little weight needs to taken away I start tracking again.
Motivation is the key yes, but what is motivation really? Is it just being strict? Difficult difficult.

oh most definately. I always make sure to eat breakfast, and to have healthy snacks around. Especially here at work were we have a vending machine, the cool thing is that people here know I'm a health nut. So if they see at the machine they give me a look like "what are you..." so I guess you can say those looks are like force field keeping me away from the dang machine.

I always like to have raw nuts, carrots, bananas, or apples around my desk. Even some popcorn and whole wheat pretzels are good.

Of course our self control and Motivation levels are extremely important, but you can assist your self by filling up on certain types of food that give you that FULL feeling.
Snacking on fruits and cut up veggies through out the day.
Porridge (oatmeal,cream of wheat) for Breakfast
Eggs for Breakfast
Soup prior to a meal
Potatoes (boiled or baked)

my goal is to get back to pre-kid self lol I was siempre struggling with the weight but I was on a roll I had lost 45 lbs and then i found out i was pregnant. I didnt omit anything allowed myself to eat everything but in smaller portions big struggle for me thig time around. Listening to my stomach and not my mouth when I am full lol SO basically i want that feeling i had before i was pregnant I felt great about myself and my image. So the tools will be more exercise and more self control....

hahaha...I know what you mean, in the beginning for me it was rough being around the family, especially when I became a vegetarian. But now I think they understand, plus a lot of them are on programs now too. So we keep each other on check, sometimes they ask me about certain foods and nutrients ( I read up on all this stuff), so because I feel they are coming to me about these things, I have to make sure I practice what I preach.

I think that what I really have to work on this year is keeping myself motivated. I get down really easy especially in these winter months when the sun doesn't come out that much! And I really need to find a way to be able to hang around my family without indulging in food with them. It's so hard because we are together sooooooo often but it always includes mucha comida rica y grasosa and I just can't seem to learn to resist!

But right now my motivation would be that both me and my husband want to get ready for summer! But this time it's a realistic goal. I just want to get down to 150 and to just maintain. No fitting into a bikini or crazy goal, just look descent! So I really need all of your help to stay motivated!

Okay, here are mine...staying active as much as possible. Going on hikes, and joining a dance class if my schedule permits. Planning my meals ahead of time has really been working, so I'm sticking with that. Especially after I take a look at my checking account it has also been helping there.

Replacing the word "IF" when talking about my goal weight, with "WHEN"...because I know I will achieve it baby!! emoticon
