Thanks everyone for your feedback. I did buy the fitness coach this weekend and hope to try it out tonight. I am still thinking on the EA active. I probably not going to get Jillian's though. I have heard to many negative on that one.

I have EA active and I have found that the squats and lunges are very hard on my knees so I don't use it very often. I do think about getting it out again and trying some other things but I'm loving my Wii fit.

Hi Karen!

I have EA Sports Active - Personal Trainer & the More Workouts version. I LOVE them. I find I get a good cardio workout, and there is some variety of exercises in them that I enjoy. The built in challenges can burn a decent number of calories and you can custom build a workout routine too, which I enjoy.

I've read lots of negative comments about the Jillian Michaels program; so many that I haven't even gotten my own out of the box to try it myself...maybe one of these days; but frankly, thinking I should take it in to exchange. Mainly the complaints I heard were that the games was not very responsive, did not pick up on your movements very well.

Hello everyone,

I am new but I have a question. Has anyone used EA active and/or Jillian Micheals and if so please give me your thoughts.

Thanks.

Maybe this has come up before, and I missed it. On the Walk it out, the music icons don't seem to open new music. I have the playlist set for "all" . Thoughts?

Sorry, WIZARDOFPAWS, I'm not very familiar with a dance program that also uses the board. There are Dance Dance Revolution games for the Wii System; but the only ones I know of come with a separate pad. I have one of the pad kind. Frankly, I seldom use it; but I do know a lot of others who seem to like them.

As a totally off topic......a friend of mine brought over Raymon Rabbids TV City (or something like that) for the Wii. For many of the little "games" it uses the balance board. For the dance portion they use the balance board and both remote and nunchuk. It's actually quite a workout....you have to copy the coach and it includes moves where you have to stand on one leg and hold it while you move your hands (remote and nunchuk) over your head. The beat was contagious and it was a lot of fun.
All that to say, can anyone recommend a "dance" program that includes the balance board?? I had a blast with those little games and could see myself "dancing" on the balance board for more of a workout.

thanks, now back to your regularly scheduled programming -

Hi Vickie - By fitness bank we're talking about the thing on your Wii Fit screen (on the main fitness page where you select whether to go to yoga or strength, etc.) that looks like a piggy bank. It is call the Wii Fit Bank. It's what shows how many minutes you exercised during that day. If you click on it, it will also show your total time accumulated on Wii Fit. On the Plus version, if you click again it shows calories burned that day.

I hope that helps. Let me know if it's not clear. Now... what total time does your Fit Bank show?

I STILL haven't found all the flags in expert, but I've gone through the free cycle and that helps me feel better about the expert level. You'll probably find all the flags before I do.

Hi, KINCH417 - I would not expect the Wii Fit to change it's calorie estimate when you put the board on a riser. You definitely will burn more calories I'd say; but I don't expect the Wii to be able to know about it. Of course, let us know if something unexpected happens.

Good luck!

Boy, a lot has been happening since I last checked. I definitely need to check more often because I like the idea of the riser for a more intense workout. I'm going to find my stepper and see if that will work for me.

I have to ask, though, does that extra intensity turn into more calories on the calorie meter? That would be a bonus!

Congrats to everyone who is progressing, and to those who haven't seen any results on the scale yet, you soon will and in the meantime take some measurement with the tape measure, I bet you'll see results sooner than on the scale.

Have a great day!

My hubby built me a riser for my balance board. Works great. Took him all of 5 minutes. It's nothing fancy, just some plywood and 2X4's, but it does the trick and really increases the intensity of your work out. emoticon

On a totally different topic......I FINALLY was able to do the Ultimate Balance!!! I've been trying that since day one, and I finally got it......41.59 sec. Now to beat that!!!

As far as the step program is concerned.....I wish it was longer also. I can even see an entire "game" set up with longer routines....for sometimes the lag time between routines drives me crazy, I'm jamming on that "A" button to get me to the "retry" place. Anyone else find the lag time annoying??

VEGAS*PRINCESS - Sorry to say, but the Advanced Step is the highest step level on Wii Fit or Plus. Of course there is Free Step that goes in 10, 20 & 30 minute options; but that's not the same I know. I would like them to add an Expert level that went 10 mins at least or maybe even let us combine them into a longer routine similar to grouping yoga or strength in the Routines.

I've seen several people talk about using a Wii step riser. Definitely would be more of a workout. I've not tried that yet.
Good luck with building one, WIZARDOFPAWS. I hope it turns out great!

I just heard about the riser for the step games. I haven't seen them & didn't know how much they were. That's not a bad price. It seems they are constantly coming out with new remotes/gadgets to play all sorts of games. Of course, I haven't had my system long & maybe they've been around longer than I realize. But I could absolutely go broke buying the games & accessories that I want. LOL!

Speaking of the step program........I noticed, while checking out something else on Amazon, that there is a stepping base available for the Wii fit balance board. I think it's about $20 or so, and you put the balance board on top of it, raising the board by about 4 inches.....a bit more of a workout.

Sorry if this has already been discussed -

marianne

ps...I suppose one could put a good, solid and big enough pieces of wood as a riser also...hmmmm...time to raid hubby's woodshop!

I'm the same way, I don't clap and I play several times in a row just to see if I can get a perfect score. I am better than I was but not anywhere near perfect. I would do island cycling more often if I could find all the flags. Super hula hoop is my game!

MG, you are definitely not the only one who racks up only OKs with adv. step. I think my daughter has done it once and my husband has done it once or come pretty darn close. He's pretty much the best of the 3 of us as far as consistency.

What's strange is that my very first time on the rhythm march I got a perfect march. Then I went back to the basic step and got one of the lowest scores since the first time I tried it.

I don't clap my hands either. I'm going to try to listen to the beat more. I'm also going to watch exactly when the icon enters the square. It seems if I can do the march, I should be able to do the step.

If not, I've always got island cycling emoticon

Thanks, SHEENADEE, for the answer on the Wii codes. It would be so much more fun to exercise with a friend than by yourself. I see DGS play his X-box games with his friends online and thought it would be nice if we could do that with the Wii.

WTG Michelle!
I am sporadic on mine right now, but was very happy to see a 2.6 pound loss when I got on last night.
I'm having a hard time getting anyone to 'play' with me so it's hard to keep at it alone. But I'll keep pushing on!

JLGGLASS~ That's a simple solution. Also if she hasn't unlocked them already most all of the exercises/games have more reps or longer times to unlock.

I keep reading and my sister also commented on the fact that wii exercises are good, but they don't do enough of each exercise. I told her she should just do more sets. I thought it was a pretty simple fix.

It was so nice today when the Wii told me I had reached my first weight loss goal 2 days early! It had kind words and even sprinkled flowers all over the page! On to the next goal!

emoticon VEGAS*PRINCESS on finding those flags!

PHAMM13 - No, you cannot actually play Wii Fit with someone else through the internet. If you register each other's friend/wii codes, it just means you can send your Mii to each other (which is kind of fun to see them on your screen) and can send messages through Wii. Maybe some future enhancement will allow us to exercise together.

I was wondering....on the wii you can input your friends or family wii codes. When you do this can each of you play the same game as if you were in the same room?

PHAMM - my mom and sister on their Wii + are having a competition now to see who gets the furthest - my sister was in the lead for awhile but now my mom is in the lead, its so funny to hear them go at it. I think my mom completed it..

I've done the obstacle course several times, but only completed it twice, it's a lot of fun!

Finding those flags is quite a challenge!
