My nephew just loves the boxing game.

One thing about the Wii, it's great FAMILY fun. You can work out and spend time with your kids and never realize that you're "working out."

Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus are great! And you won't even realize you're working out. Just be careful not to overdo it at first. When we first got the Wii, I popped in Wii Sports, played ALL the games, several times, and the next day, I could barely lift my arms. lol I'm pretty sure the boxing is what did the most of it. I get the concept of only moving your hands and arms a little and still knocking the guy out, but that doesn't register when I'm doing it. I go full out, really swinging and punching. lol And then my arms fall off. :P

I'm sure you'll find something you love. There's a lot to choose from! Good luck on your journey!

I do the Just Dance and the Wii Fit Plus. They're great because you can control the intensity. If you can't "jog" much, you can do it slowly or even walk. And the Just Dance doesn't require that much leg work even if you are standing.

You know I have a severe spinal injury and two knees that are bone on bone. I walk with the aid of a walker or canes and exercise is the biggest challenge, but there is another option that is oh so wonderful. My gym has a therapy pool and offers shallow water aquasize classes, and these have been a lifesaver for me. Without them, I would be lost.

Look for a facility in your neighborhood that offers this. It off-loads the weight and lets you get a good resistance workout. If they have aqua-bells you can get strength training and if you have a good instructor they can show you how to do exercises in the water that will really give you the workout you need without the pain. One caution, prepare for reality when you have to get out of the pool. Most days, I'd prefer to just stay in.

This is so helpful. One of the reasons I dislike exercise is it makes my knees really hurt. But, there's another way - sitting and doing it. Like to try that with the boxing. Anyway, I feel like I'm seeing a whole new world of possibilities. THANKS!

speaking of sitting down...you can use the wii remote and nun chunk and sit and do it. You can move your arms to the pace of the song or rhythm and do it that way.

With zumba, my hubby who has knee and feet issues-sits in a chair and does it. He waves his arms and moves his upper body and shakes his hips the best he can. When he can stand, he does and when he can't, he sits.

Same with just dance and just dance 2-you can move your arms around and upper body along with the moves (best you can while seated) and still get a good workout.

Wii Sports and Wii sports resort are a MUST. Super fun. Between the two games there is baseball, tennis, bowling, ping pong, wakeboarding, canoe racing, sword play, basketball, cycling, archery, golf, Frisbee and boxing. All you need is a nunchunk and the wii remote and each and every game can be played sitting down (or you can stand up when/if you feel like it.)

Another game that can be played sitting down and that's easy on the knees if you wish to stand while playing it is Racquet Sports. It offers squash, tennis, bad mitten, beach tennis and ping pong. Just need the wii remote and thats it. You can take it easy or work up a sweat. But at least your moving.

And that's the important part-your moving, in your own way.

I sit down to do my wii games because I can't stand or walk without a cane and my trainer told me that's great cause I still get a cardio work out. I bought the newest dance one for country dancing I love it I also do wii gold's gym cardio I just do the punches. You can do just most of them from a sitting position and still get a good sweat going. Good Luck and enjoy

I've played both Just Dance and Just Dance 2.. and you don't need to move your legs to get a good workout and sweat going. It's better if you're standing up but you can do it sitting down as well. I really love the game and I play it as often as I can.

** Change is like walking an uphill, rocky road: you will stumble, you will fall. You may even roll downhill a bit. You will be tempted to stay down. You'll ask yourself "why bother"? But, if you pick yourself up and just keep pushing forward, eventually you'll get to the top and have a beautiful view! **

Zumba-you can involve your knees as much or as little as you want to. I flail my arms and shake my hips like an idiot, but I work up a sweat.

Walk it out-this is great, you can speed up or slow down as you like and it keeps track of your stats for you.

Has anyone tried to play this game with bad knees? I bought Dance Dance Revolution and for one thing, I couldn't do it -- too hard, complicated and fast, but also, lots of jumping and I can't jump. Has anyone found wii games that they particularly like? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
