Good news. I got my medicare card today. Now if I have to go to the doctor I can. However, I have to find a supplemental plan I can afford and it all looks like Greek to me.
Also, some of the drug plans looks like they don't have some ofthe meds I take. Grrr. I think I am going to call my pharmacist for help.

It is cloudy again, but not really complaining right now. It was cloudy during the June Lyrid meteor shower, too, but not a lot to be missed there. I need the rain more. Tonight there are supposed to be Thunderstorms so I will get some of my lawn ornaments in.

I have my park bench fixed with a stable light weight wooden leg that I bolted on to it. That works much better. The next day after my friend visited my mom wanted me to pick her up and bring her to see my house. It had been quite a while since she had seen it so she was surprised at all that had been done to it. She liked my flooring and the remodeled kitchen for sure. She is letting me store some of my husbands things and a stereo in her garage and that is going to help me a lot. While cleaning out a space for my things she found my slats for my park bench so I only had to buy nuts and bolts. I probably have those somewhere but can't find them.

With that fixed I have been sitting in my yard on my park bench with my lawn table for my banana mint water watching the butterflies and humming birds feed off my tiger lilies. It is so good to have a nice lawn again.

Friday I planted more flowers, My cannas are coming up big time. I have one little tomato on one of my tomatoe plants. I have lots of blooms on others. I also have one little sweet pepper and some strawberries. My glads are still growing.

My telescopes have more space since I cleaned out the room where they are stored. Just wish I could have more time to enjoy them.

Have a good night tonight and a great tomorrow everyone.
Welcome to our new members, too.

Today was a good day. I spiffed everything up and worked outside, too. My friend who was coming to visit me got here this afternoon. She lost her husband the same week I did. We had a great visit. We had hamburgers and diet Mountain Dew and we walked in the yard and sat on my white bench and petted the dog. We went back in and sat in the living room and talked until almost dark. We talked about our husbands and where we were in our grief and how much we had been through, yet survived and how much we had accomplished. We celebrated the good things. Then she went back home. It was definitely a fun, relaxing, and good time and we hope to do it again soon.

It is nice to be able to entertain friends again now. I think I have fixed the cast iron park bench I ran over with the riding more many years ago and sheared one of the side legs in two. I used a small cream separator to hold up the side that got sheared and bolted the side to the cream separator. Now I will need to get some red wood slats to put through the slots for them and I should have a functional bench again if I don't get to wild with it like, jump on it or something.

I also found my cast iron lawn table and sat it in front of the bench like it used to be. Wish me luck that this will work because I sure want a bench without taking the one back that I gave to my mom.

Marcy, it may be late but I think everyone is planting a little late this year. Hope you get some flowers you like. I have some Cannas coming up already and my glads are coming up but won't bloom until July. I also have Amaryllises up but don't know if they will bloom this year or not. My tiger lilies and yuccas are in full bloom now. My herb garden is starting to grow.

Good for you for the walks and eating right. I get a lot of walking these days, but my feet and legs really are bothering me. I am going to do some ST and go to bed early.

Hi everyone.

Char, how awful to have internet problems. I hope they get it fixed for you. Your flowers and gardens sound great. I will go check out your photos. The fountains would be very nice and relaxing.

Pam, glad you got in your exercise early. You have quite the garden going too. That will be nice.

It looks like summer finally arrived in Wyoming. We have warmer weather and those stupid annoying miller moths everywhere. I have not even bought flowers to plant yet. Wow, this isnlate for that.

I have been trying to learn how to use an iPad for a few weeks. It's fun but the typing on it is weird.

We started our afternoon walks at work again today. The lazy winter, extra pounds sure noticed the lap around the giant parking lot today but it motivated me to eat right. Woo hoo.

Food was good today. I have yogurt, strawberries, cereal for breakfast. Lunch was leftover enchilada and supper was a lean hamburger patty and raw veggies n

I hope this finds you all well and enjoying the summer.

Looks like our weather is the same, Pam. Good for you on working out with curves. My gargen is growing nicely in pots and barrels.

I posted new photos and updated my intro to my web page if anyone is interested. I have photos of little niches I am creating in my yard where I can go and sit and meditate depending on my mood. It is a work in progress, and you can see that from the first photos and how it is evolving.

I have a photo of my barrel garden but am trying to decide the most convenient place to move my flower pot garden. I do have 2 photos up now of the flower pot garden waiting to be relocated. My tomatoes and bell peppers are blooming and my strawberries are blooming again.

Both of my lawn mowers are down again so my friend from church came and got them to fix them today. I am staying inside to stay cool.

I have been getting plenty of exercise and eating right most of the time. I am really working at this.

Hope everyone is enjoying the almost summer weather. If it gets much hotter here we will burn to a crisp. Now we need the rain again. LOL

Happy June 8th!
Today I actually did my workout in the morning which rare, but it was a great feeling going to Curves around 10:30, though it was Zumba day but that is tomorrow and since this was nice today will do this again tomorrow and finally get to do Zumba.

Have the tomatoes, melons, cucumbers, bell pepper and eggplant in the ground and put the marigolds around everything last nigh because they help to keep bugs away.

Hope everyone is have a great summer, been a little to warm and humid but still loving the nice hot weather.

This has been a good day, but my feet hurt so bad I had to use the electric cart when I went to Walmart. There are just going to be days like this, but I don't have to let them get me down. I had lunch with my mom and we had a great time. Definitely, a good day!

I came home and was without internet. This has been happening to me almost every day, usually between 1 pm-4pm. I can't understand why it is always about this time of day unless the phone lines aren't handling the load at that time. So I called the tech people and they told me to have the phone company check the lines so I called them and they will be here Friday.

I have been creating a beautiful yard for me to enjoy. I used to have a couple of fountains, but gave them to my mom when the fountain pump went out. It was so relaxing to go sit and watch the water. All the stress and the cares would just dissolve. I used to have a lot of lawn statues that I also gave to my mom when she moved here, so rather than beg them back, I am buying some replacements to go with my bench and bird bath. I have been creating special places for flowers and sitting and meditating in my yard. These simple things really help my FM.

My flowerpot and barrel garden is still flourishing and I am contemplating adding a greenhouse for the winter if I can figure an inexpensive way of doing that with the materials I have. I would appreciate suggestions.

Marcy, isn't it great when you can solve small problems like a door that keeps the sound of the washer and dryer down, etc. I used to put up with a lot of irritating things that could be easily solved, but then I discovered that life is too short to do that when a solution would be so much less stressful.

Good thing Marty left you the car, LOL!

Wishing you all a great tomorrow and clear skies,

Hi everyone. We got near 70 today but it was still windy. Boo. Marty did go out to play golf after work though. I went to his office and found it locked and the light off. Good thing he left me the car. LOL.

I made some rice and cut up my leftover steak from the dinners out this weekend for supper. I had some raw veggies and left the rest of the rice and steak in the frig for Marty when he gets home.

Stupid miller moths are out in full force now. I hate those things. They really startle me. They make me scream like a little girl.

I decided to do a batch of laundry tonight since Marty is gone. The new doors on our laundry room help muffle the sound of the washer and dryer. Nice.

I canít believe the week is 1/2 over already. Sweet.

Char, sorry to hear you had some trying days last month. Hope June is much better for you. I am trying to cut out sweets, Coke and get my food scale back out for everything not just some things. Isnít it amazing how much better water tastes through a filter? I really notice when itís regular tap water. How fun to see the stars; I havenít caught one in months. That is great your wild cat is being so tame. Your garden sounds great.

Hi Marcy and everyone,
Good to have you back. May was a challenging month and ended in a challenging few days. Never a dull moment here! Sometimes I think I could use a few.

I pretty much stayed with my May goals so my June goals will be the same. I am going to try to lay off sweets though. If not totally, cut them way back. I have pretty much eliminated carbonated beverages. The Brita faucet filter has certainly made the water taste better.

My wild kitty is now very normal as far as letting me pet him and hold him. I think he will probably never be quite normal being raised alone most of his days. He is much more alert than the average house cat and thinks things through, a trait I am sure he had to develop to stay alive.

I got to see stars for two nights but the wind blew so hard that it made observing with a telescope almost impossible. Maybe later this week. We are just coming out of about 10 days of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. I have had enough of that and I am looking for clear skies.

I have been walking almost daily and I have been mowing my lawn which gives me a lot of good exercise. (Not a riding lawn mower)

My tomatoes, peppers, and strawberries are doing well in their pots. My potatoes and green beans are doing great in their barrels. I picked strawberries from my wild strawberry plants yesterday. Today I planted sage, lavender, and oregano and I am all done planting.

Have a great tomorrow, everyone.

Since today is June 1st I feel like summer might finally be here. Yippee. Hopefully Iíll have warmer weather here soon and can start my afternoon walks at work again. That will be nice for a change and good for me too.

What are your plans for the summer? How will you try to be healthier?

I donít know about you but I certainly am more active in the summer and seem to be more motivated to get out and do things. I am generally cold and am terrified of walking on ice so that tends to keep me sedentary in the winter. Those problems arenít prevalent in the summer here so I am inspired to go for walks and of course just becoming more active makes me eat less and eat better.

I didnít get in many walks this winter and I can sure tell it wasnít good for me. When I used to teach I would go to campus early and go for a walk up and down the halls. Since I wasnít teaching this winter I didnít replace that extra activity with anything else. We have a treadmill here at home but I found it was hard on my knees so I had to quit using it for exercise.

My walking buddy at work was talking today about we should get started going for our 3 pm walk again. We didnít today because it was horribly windy but the forecast is for temps in the 70ís this week so tomorrow hopefully weíll get out there.

I really look forward to the farmerís market this summer and having better produce in the stores. I absolutely love a bowl of mixed fresh fruit so I am looking forward to enjoying more great produce this summer.

We can do it!

Have a great day.
