Hi everyone,
Sundays are always iffy days when it comes to eating, because my mom and I usually eat out. "If" we eat at a regular restaurant I can do pretty well. "If" we eat at a fast food place I may or may not be in trouble depending on what I order. "If" I eat at Pizza Hut, I am in big trouble. Today we ate at a regular restaurant and I did fairly well. I just couldn't seem to avoid the dessert but only ate small portions of that.

I took another look at Venus, Jupiter, and the Moon tonight. The stars were very bright and clear. I love those nights.

Our winter has been practically non-existent so far. Our normal this winter is highs of between 45-55 degrees with a few days with 30s for a high and a few days with 60s for a high. I hardly need the heater and lots of times I don't need a coat. A sweater or light jacket will do. This is definitely not our usual winter as we are usually covered in snow from January until sometimes in March. The snow that we did have melted within the day.

My daffodils are blooming, my strawberries in pots still have not died, so I guess I should have them for this coming year. I am thinking about planting my potatoes next week in my barrels.

I am thinking about having a carport built for my little hatchback. I am concerned about hail. I did by a car cover for it, though, so maybe if it is too costly for a carport I will be okay.

My FM has been acting up the last few days. My muscles feel like mush, my legs like spaghetti and my bone spurs in my hip and foot are letting me know they are still there which makes sleeping a little less easy.

I am having eye problems and throat problems, too. I have been to the doctor but suspect I will have to go back.

Hope everyone has a great week. Check in and let us know how you are doing.

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great weekend.

My day was derailed by Angry Birds. My 8 year old nephew was telling us yesterday how to get golden eggs in Angry Birds. We did a search this morning and found there are 27 of them so we went searching for them. Marty and I spent 2 to 3 hours doing that. Of course he already had 15 to start with but I only had 3. He has some for all 3 stars. The only way I'll get those eggs is to loan my iPad to my 8 year old nephew for a week. LOL.

I made it to the grocery store about 11:30. I made mini meatloaves and au gratin potatoes for lunch. We didn't eat until before 2 so we had some toast for supper.

This afternoon I decided to do our taxes. We get a decent refund. Sweet. I was expecting to pay. If we get a refund next year we will try to figure out different deductions. I would rather pay a little or break even than get money back.

I've had a sort of cold / sinus thing for about 3 months now that never gets better or worse but I sure wish it would get better. I drink some OJ every morning hoping it will help.

Take care.
Marcy

Glad you saw the moon and Venus tonight. Good plan to eat more salads. I have been remiss on my raw veggies lately because they are just not as good as I want them to be this time of year. t least baby carrots are always tasty. It is nice you take up your mom to DQ. I will get a small dish of soft serve when we go there.

Yes, I did. Very nice! I will make sure to see them again tomorrow night, too. I am so glad it is clear here.

The calories are a problem for me, too, as my mom got these coupons to DQ that she is wanting to use and I hate to say no because she doesn't get out that much and if it will get her out of the house I want to take her places. Unfortunately, she can use the calories and they don't show, but I can't.

I have started eating more salads now, though, so hopefully that will work for me.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hi everyone. Did you see the moon and Venus tonight? We saw it before the sun was down. Sweet. Of course it is cold and very windy so I never went back to look again.

We have been busy as usual. Marty is enjoying his new job and has been home more than we thought he would be. He gets cabin fever so we go out with friends more than we used to. It is fun but not good for calorie consumption.

We are saving money to take a trip in the fall. Sweet.

I hope all of you are doing well.

Hi Marcy,
Good to see you back. DSOs are my favorite when I take the telescope out. If the weather holds I might get to do that sooner than usual. I have gotten too attached to creature comforts to want to go out in the winter much anymore, but its spring here!!!! Lol, but probably wiinter will rear its ugly head at least for a while before we have our real spring.

I am still saving for another red dot finder for my 6 inch telescope. I've just had to many practical things to purchase here lately like a car cover and I need an external hard drive that I am saving for, too. I put our preacher's audio sermons on the church website and then copy them from my computer to CDs for people who want hard copies of them. Unfortunately, the audio sermons are taking up more room than I would like, so I want to get an external drive to store the sermons and my photos on and free up space on my computer for other things.

Well I am off to bed. Hope to hear from everyone soon.

Hi everyone. I am alive, well and freezing in Wyoming. Sorry I have not checked in lately. I have been crazy busy and not sticking to a "healthy" lifestyle but I sure keep trying.

I haven't done much astronomy lately. I guess the older i get the less apt I am to put up with going out in cold weather. I have been watching Venus and Jupiter and enjoying Orion when we are out at night.

Our astronomy club meeting last week was fun. I did a program on DSO. We bought one of those mini projectors so I used a bunch of cool APOD pictures to describe DSO. I had some Messier Catalogs with pictures and a sky map to hand out to everyone. I asked Astronomy Magazine for extra copies of them when i was teaching and they sent me about 80 copies so I still have some left to hand out. Getting cool pictures is always a winner for a talk.

How is everyone?

Char I can't believe you are thinking of your garden already. I am worried about spring blizzards. LOL. I hope you get over your cold / virus soon.

Take care.

Okay, so where is everyone? How many are still with us? How are you doing with your goals? Have you joined any team goals?

Here is where I am. I am battling a cold or virus---sore throat, upset stomach when I eat, light headed, dizzy, ear ache, etc. I have felt really yukky, but I think I am getting better now and I have been able to keep going. I have actually even been doing some moderate walking, which, as most of you know, has not been possible for me in quite some time. I have started tracking my goals again and they are showing up on the team page so please join our team goals and help me.

I am enjoying southern CA weather in MO and loving it. I have not had to have heat except for a little at nights and the weatherman says it looks like the weather is going to hold for another week and we may have an early spring. My plants are coming up, so I sure hope we do or they have had it. My strawberry plants in my containers outside never died this year.

I am already thinking about seeds and I know it is way too early but with this weather it is hard not to, and then I have been getting all of these seed catalogues in the mail.

I enjoyed seeing the moon and Jupiter and Venus the other night and noted that the "moon was holding water." Then in the next evening it poured it all out on us in form of rain. I think we will get more rain tonight. There are so many signs in the night sky if you know how to read them.

I am concerned with all the spring weather we are getting this early that we might have lots of storms and hail this year so I ordered a super heavy duty car cover for my little G3 hatchback since I don't have a garage or carport and don't have a place to have one built. I can just do the best I can and hope nothing major hits. I will let you know how that works.

My phone by my computer went out so I am going to have to buy a new phone tomorrow. Wish me luck. These new ones just aren't as well made as some of the older models.

Check out the night sky calendar for this month. It has some interesting things tucked in it. Lets all at least glance at the planets this month and spot the constellations of the month....Orion, Canis Major, Canis Minor, Gemini, and the stars for the month...Sirius, Castor, Pollux. If you take your telescope or binoculars out try to spot M35. Also on the 2nd look for Comet Garradd at magnitude 6.6 1/2 degree west of M92 in Hercules early Friday morning. They will look like 2 fuzzballs but will look different.

So everyone, check in and let me know what's happening in your lives and how you are doing.
