Interesting. I never put the two together but will watch for it next time I get a cold/flu.

My first experience with IBS was about 20 years ago. I had a horrible spring cold and as I got over it, I started getting shooting, cramping pains in my abdomen. A trip to the doctor and she diagnosed me with IBS.

Over the years, I've been pretty much IBS-C with a lot of gas/bloating problems.

Nowadays, I take Align every day and it really seems to help with the cramping/bloating that I used to get a couple times a week, but every time I get a bad cold or the flu, it kicks my IBS-D into overdrive.

I had something akin to bronchitis last weekend, and I'm mostly over it, but now today, IBS-D flared up the worst it's been in a couple years.

It seems like my worst triggers are the cold/flu virus... does anyone else have that too?
