Where did Sunday (and May) go? Well, happy June with summer just ahead!

I am full of worry about the state of this country and realize what a luxury it is for me to be tucked away in this safe space in Central Arkansas contemplating all I have to be thankful for. I'm going to travel over to see if anyone has started the June thread, and if not, do so myself.

Here is the June thread:

On this last night of May, I'm grateful for:

-Getting a nice bean soup made
-The luscious spinach omelette I made, the fresh eggs are a super treat
-Delivering our small neighborhood association newsletter to everybody on the cul-de-sac, and checking in at the same time
-A laid back Sunday, puttering and cooking and doing a bit of this and a bit of that
-Lots of fetching play with Rosie today; she's tuckered out and napped big time
-Nice walks at the cemetery both days this weekend
-Acknowledging my fear and concerns about our country (and world) while staying grounded in the comfort of my safe home, knowing what a privilege it is ...
-Remembering to call my mother and remind her of my sister's upcoming anniversary (reminders are requested and appreciated)

Have a lovely evening all,
Stephanie

Amazing to me that here we are at the end of the month, still thankful for so much that is good in our lives. And how blessed we are to have a cooler day to do some grubby work outside! The sun is shining, but it is only 60 degrees. Perfect weather, I think! I wilt in 80 degree temps....

-to hear our daughter is better, not worse, today
-to live in a safe and friendly neighborhood

NOTE: This is what I found on my screen this morning! Hahaha! Apparently, because the post was started on the 30th, it's posting as the 30th (edited today).

Sandra - Is there a way to bypass setting up an account with Magistro(sp?) to view your video?

Tonight I'm grateful for:

-Starting my day with a very sweet call from my 9-year-old twin nieces
-Met a friend at the cemetery and did a long walk on opposite sides of the street
-The weather has been beautiful all day, sunny off and on, with a tiny hint of a breeze
-Getting half the patio weeded around the water gardens, made easy by lots of rain
-My FitBit that I lost today; still hoping it will turn up, have had it for years and it's a good buddy
-Being produce- and fruit- rich at the moment ... like a kid in a candy store ... what will I reach for next? Need to remember it lasts 1-2 weeks
-Sweet e-mails back and forth with my mother
-An evening at home with the kitty girls tonight in our comfortable home

Have sweet dreams all,
Stephanie

Grateful for:

the chance to rest today
the return of a favorite book (the borrower had to buy a replacement copy. Oh dear! but grateful he replaced it without my asking him to)
and for finally trimming dear Rosy's paws. Oh my, the hair and dirt! Its got to feel good to not have all that hair on her feet. Lighter to run around the backyard too.

Tonight I'm grateful for:

-Doing something I've not done in a long time ... playing tennis with a friend this evening (great socially distanced game)
-The beautiful day today, especially after several days of clouds and rain
-Pre-ordering organic farmer's market produce for tomorrow (asparagus, strawberries, lettuce, spinach, spring garlic and eggs) so I can get in and out quickly
-Calling the vet; time to move Cleo on to a kitty ophthalmologist since we don't know what the issue is, though I'm grateful it doesn't bother her in any way, or affect her vision
-A weekend; though it's been a 3-day work week, it still feels long ... go figure
-Heading out to the deck, maybe with a glass of wine

Have a great evening all,
Stephanie

@ABURRIS2 and so good to see you too!

@VALERIEMAHA I'm guessing here, but I wonder if your iphone is doing that fun little trick of "predicting the phrase" you're going to write, and when you hit enter, it selects the phrase and puts it in for you.

I have all sorts of odd stuff happen that seems to be coming from the "predict" feature. Sometimes it is helpful, but sometimes it really gets in the way, when you want to hit enter to just go down a line and not select an action. I do not have an iphone, just like technology, despite all its weird little habits.

Grateful today for getting a whole long list of errands done, from paying a bill, to going to the CSA and getting lovely lettuce and Kohlrabi! Plus making three appointments. That's a big achievement for me. Even though the receptionist accused me of giving her my phone number and not my birthdate. I was stunned. I said, "But I just gave you my birthdate!" She apologized. I'm sure it had been a long day for her. Poor woman.

Maha - No help here;I don't do Spark from my phone as I prefer the desktop.

Today I'm grateful for:

-The rain seeming to have let up as we're having flooding
-The precautions/screenings my massage company/therapist are taking as I consider getting a massage again (both wearing masks); just not sure yet, but it's the only human touch I had other than an occasional hug, so very tempting as no massage since Feb
-My company; this time they sent two bottles of wine (one red, one white) with a "thinking of you and appreciating your work" note signed by the CEO
-An intranet article that the next delivery will be two locally sourced masks with a pocket for filters, for now and for later when we return to work (though they're still saying no time soon)
-Still happy working from home
-Getting a mail order all put together to stock up on kitty supplies all in one shot, saving me a trip to a store
-Good friends, what would life be without them?

Have a great evening all,
Stephanie

Grateful for: attending an interesting conference online. Worked well, people were great, very upbeat, learned a lot. Got a scholarship to attend, so lucky and happy.

and for good news about sister's nearly 14 year old kitty, who is doing pretty well.

@KALIGIRL yes, no news is good news! Someone made that comment to a sailor (he'd written a book) saying, "As long as you don't hear, when you do the news is usually good... hearing news right away usually means its bad news... " He said it took him a few years to realize what the man meant.

Grateful also for the chance to go to the CSA tomorrow. So exciting!

Grateful: for a peaceful Memorial day weekend, and that the fireworks were mercifully short and not too close

For continuing good weather for our farmer friends
for CSA people
and for family, forever and always

Greetings friends!

Missed you yesterday. Today feeling thankful~~

~ with Sandra, feeling the conflict around a pacifict orientation on Meorial Day and in the midst of this madness

~ gathering yesterday with dear old friends from the New Moon Sisters to say goodbye to one of the founding members who is moving to Austin, TX to be near children and grandchildren

~ it was a blue-skied sunny Memorial Day and we maintained physcial distance in a wide circle in our friend's lovely front yard, recalling together some of the precious times spent together around a bonfire

~ bracing for days of rain ahead, looking to tai chi and chi kung to fill in the gap

~ feeling ready to consider moving again toward strength training

Blessed be,

Today I'm grateful for:

-Roses and peonies in my garden
-Taking one of each to my brother's grave (for my sister)
-Two very elderly women at the cemetery struggling to get up a small incline with pots of flowers in their hands who graciously allowed me to give them an arm and carry the plants; they were delightful and we had a very brief chat
-Going for a drive and landing at Unity Village Nature Trail, much more remote than city parks, taking myself for a 3.5-mile hike (just wish I'd worn shorts as it was hilly and hot)
-Seeing incredible art done in mud on the white walls of a railroad tunnel on the trail
-Beautiful clouds in a bright blue sky above a small lake
-Nature being my path to "feeling" the enormity and grief of nearly 100,000 U.S. lives and over 300,000 worldwide ... while still having hope
-Self-care, in the form of a gorgeous melange of root vegetables (red, purple, Yukon, white sweet potato and carrots), all roasting in my oven filling my home with delectable aroma ...

Have a great evening all,
Stephanie

Greetings to all,

I hope everyone is enjoying the day. I am so thankful~~

~ lovely conversation with a dear friend today -- we were thwarted in our morning bike ride plans because the rain persisted

~ I, on the other hand, went for a lovely ride late morning

~blessed with the sighting of a big and seemingly very old turtle in the driveway as I left on my bikeride
