hello everyone,
It is a rainy day here in Oklahoma today. I am doing Weight Watchers and use Spark for my motivation and support. I was raped in 1997 and just found out this week he gave me herpes. It lays dormant for up to 30 years. I thought it was my ex at first but he has been tested and it is not him. Now i am with a wonderful man that i have to tell. Please keep Jim and I in your prayers about it. I have to take medicine the rest of my life and have adjusted this week but have ate horrible. But I only gained 1 pound this week so that is good. I have only had my ex husband , the rapist and Jim as sexual partners. I really hope i don't lose Jim over this. He is such a wonderful man.

Still writing on papers but they are due Tuesday so i am almost done! Ready to start reading for fun again.

Take care everyone. Oh, I had no real symptoms with this. My gynocologist said women sometimes have yeast infections that are really herpes so pass it on to your friends. That is why I am being so open to educate. Darla

Hello All,

I hope everyone is doing OK. I am having a good day today. I feel energized and am going to do my exercises today. Yesterday was not a good day so I didn't have the energy to do them.

It is sunny here in Maine. It is 49 degrees out. I still have some snow banks but their melting more and more each day. I can't wait for Spring to be here.

I am reading a good book now. It is "Dying To Play" by Debra Webb. I just started on Friday and so far it is interesting. I hope it stays that way all the way through.

I wish you all the Best!

Best wishes to all!

I've been reading Nonviolent Communication for one of my classes. This book is a great "primer" for communication. I'm actually thinking of ordering a bunch of them to give to gifts.

I gave up on Reliabale Wife. I know I don't give books much of a chance (especially with authors I'm not familiar with). Just couldn't get into it.

Finished U is for Undertow and reading the new Mitch Albom book. Right now the exact title escapes me.

Off to have my taxes done and then the dentist. What a day.

In addition to my previous post. I recently started reading a series call Blue Bloods written by Melissa De La Cruz. It is quite interesting and the only reason I started reading it was because I couldn't afford to go and buy the #2 book I was reading in my other series. My sister suggested I take a look at this Blue Blood series. Not bad for what I believe to be a TEEN novel series.

I have a non-book related question. All the lovely ladies that have recently posted have a cute little weight goal tracker below their posts. How do I go about having my own show up? Thanks a bunches for the information.

Good afternoon all!
Still healing from my radiation treatments, but I've been able to stay awake a little longer in the evenings and getting more reading done.

Hi, I'm new here and can't find the thread for introductions (is there one?).
I read everything! I've read Stephen Hawkling's A brief Hustory of Time to all of the Doctor Seuss books - FYI:I learned more reading Dr. Seuss!
Currently I'm reading Book Four in the The Dark tower Series by Stephen King - The Wolves of Calla, Shape Shifting by Lisa Bonnice, Exile's Valor by Mercedes Lackey, and working on my own book.
I like to be busy and get bored easily. Glad to be here.

Thanks Egrammy I joined today! Not sure how it all works yet . Where do you find the FAQ's? I read that was a good place to start.

Just got back from a weekend in San Antonio with my son and future daughter in law! We picked out his tux for the wedding so that was fun.

I decided to join Overeaters Anonymous and have been reading their material and boy does it ever fit me. I am a compulsive overeater. The meetings are free and confidential. Just google OA and you can put in your town to find a meeting near you.

hope everyone has a great day!!

What is bookcrossing.com?

I'm almost finished with Saving CeeCee Honeycutt. Wasn't sure I would like it as I ususally don't care for books about kids, but this was pretty good.

The last two books I didn't read much of and put it down.

Ha! {{grins}} And then signed up here. {{grins}} Read a wonderful memoir that my SIL gave me, The Middle Place, highly recommend it. Have a great day!

I just finished Listen for the Whisperer by Phyllis A Whitney.
Here is my review:

Leigh Hollins is the child of an actress and a writer. Her mother, Laura Worth, was busy with her career as an actress and Leigh was raised by her father, Victor Hollins, and his wife Ruth. Laura Worth vanishes because of scandal of the murder of the director, Cass Alroy, for the movie, The Whisperer.
After the death of her father, Leigh goes to Bergen, Norway. It is her father's wishes she meet her mother and get to know her. Laura is writing a book on famous women stars of the screen and this is her entrance to meeting her mother.
Gunnar Thoresen, who lives in Bergen, was a friend of Victor Hollins. Gunnar is also a close friend of Laura. Victor wrote a letter to Gunnar to tell him to take care of Leigh when she comes to Bergen. It is through Gunnar that Leigh meets her mother.
The book continues with Leigh meeting her mother, Laura, and the mystery that surrounds them.
Phyllis A. Whitney does a good job with the descriptions of Bergen, the ski areas, the Stavkirke (church), the open-faced sandwich and mentioning such historical figures such as Catherine the Great and King Hakkon of Norway. I had never heard of a Hardanger fiddle and found that interesting.
I am now reading Catherine the Great by Henri Troyat and I liked the mention of her name. I also did a webinar this week (a seminar using the computer) by Hurtingruten Cruise Line for travel agents on Bergen and the fjords. The seminar was informative with all the pictures of the area; it helped to relate to Bergen in the book.
A good reading book with mystery, love, hate, betrayal, snow, mother, daughter, fear, films, gardens, anger and murder. A quick reading book and not as predictable as one might think.
I give it 4 plus stars. This was my second time to read it.

I'm still dealing with the fatigue from the radiation I finished last week; haven't been able to keep up with my reading. One of my habits is to do some reading just before bedtime, and for the last 3 nights, I haven't been able to do that. Even during the day I have been too tired.

I don't know if this is up your alley - but I just got done with Murder of a Medici Princess by Caroline Murphy

I thought it was going to be a horrible historical biography I would have to slog through and was so surprised!

It is not a light read but she does a fine job making renaissance living so real and the Medici Family and their politics come to life! Amazing story.

I was pleasantly surprised.

I've hit a dry spell...can't find a book I like! I've never checked out so many that seem so poorly written, but by authors I've liked before. Is it just that I have time to read now, instead of feeling like it was a guilty pleasure before I retired?

Anyone have a suggestion for a good book?

After not getting far with 2 books, started another one - Saving CeeCee Honeycutt and so far I'm enjoying.

Finally got to Tai Chi today.

Have a good one.
