Good grief...you're making me hungry! And I just finished dinner an hour ago!!

I'm with Gail! I love food, PERIOD! How do you think I got this way? Not too many things I don't like, although I'd have to say I would probably draw the line at liver, Gail. The onions would be fine, but not liver!

Probably more favorite than others is pizza and it doesn't have to be a special kind from a special place as long as the crust doesn't taste like cardboard! LOL! All kinds of toppings (except anchovies)...veggies, cheese, any kind of meats or chicken. One of my favorites is saurkraut, pineapple and canadian bacon. So yummy! But then there are the mashed potatoes...how do I not mention them...and french fries...and and and...well, you get the picture!

I am impressed that any of you can even say a favorite. It depends on the day I guess, or maybe what mood I am in. My real problem is I love food. Some days it is Lobster with butter, some days pasta sounds really good. Of course I love mexican food, chinese food, and Thai food and even Korean food, Kimchi! My OH MY, . Vietnamese, American comfort food. I couldn't pick any one meal, and come October I crave Turkey and Pumpkin Pie. Do I eat them? NOT VERY OFTEN. But when I do I enjoy every bite, I even like liver and onions.
I guess my favorite is anything I don't have to cook myself, other than Jerry's cooking, He is a lot better but not good yet, except for his smoked ribs. LOL

ALL TIME FAVORITE FOOD - Pasta! I love pasta!

It is so versatile, sometimes it's the entrée, like baked macaroni and cheese. Then other times just a side. You can even have it as a sweet, like noodle kugel with pineapple.
Add some kind of pasta to stretch any leftover into a new meal. With sauces, you can make it Italian, French, or Mexican (for GNO!) or, just a bit of butter, salt and pepper, or olive oil and tomatoes and basil. Make it hot, or serve it cold, as a salad. There are so many varieties of pasta, healthy whole wheat, to tiny ditalini, or fun shapes, and alphabet letters. Sometimes pasta is just a craft ingredient...colored macaroni necklaces, or birds nests, dried and filled.
Have it plain or have it fancy! You are only limited by your imagination.

There is nothing you can serve that Pasta won't improve. I regularly buy about 10 types. And make my own, from scratch.

Although, making it from scratch, prompted Pyne to have the Barrel Store clerk laughing and shaking his head...as Pyne said, "my wife is going to make me a special dinner, and sent me down here to get salmonella flour" The clerk laughed, and said "Wow, you must have really pissed her off!" He was supposed to get semolina flour!

But, some type of pasta is part of every culture and ethnic food, around the world. Because it is so versatile.

THE ABOVE STATEMENT(as much as it sounds like an ad) IS NOT BEING PAID FOR BY THE PASTA COUNCIL( if there even is such thing) ...although if they want to supply me with a years worth of pasta, I won't say no.. emoticon

My favorite food is Mom's Chicken and dumplings.
I have learned to make them with less calories. I use skinless boneless chicken breast and thighs. After they are done I add the fat free chicken broth, it cuts way down on the fat. Her dumplings are what she calls tough dumplings and they have no fat since they are make with nothing but flour and water and a little salt. It is still pretty tasty without being so greasy from the chicken fat.

What is Your All Time Favorite Food?

Have you had to alter it in any way to Lighten it Up to still enjoy it, or do you practice moderation, avoid it all together or just eat it as a Special Treat?

My All Time Favorite Food is a cheesy Pizza from the local Pizzeria. I still order it from time to time as love it but have cut way down on how often I do that and when I do limit myself to 2 pieces as used to eat 3 or 4 slices and be so stuffed all I wanted to do was "crawl" into bed afterwards.

I also do buy a deli pizza from my grocery store as it is lower in calories and cheaper. It's not quite as good but I still like it and it's easier to use portion control and I don't stuff myself any more.

I have also bought the fat reduced pizza crust available and made my own pizza at home. They are also tasty and lower in calorie and cost. Sometimes I go a little "nuts" and add all kinds of different veggies and even a few leftover things not usually found on a pizza and it's really tasty, cheaper than the pizzeria pizza and healthier as I don't put 1/2 the cheese on it that they do.
