The soup was really good. The recipe called for 1% milk, but I used whole milk. It was worth it!

Our neighbor gave us fresh sea scallops. It was a real treat. Seared scallops and fresh corn. Yummy.

I had two pieces of toast for dinner last night, and the board meeting turned out to be OK.

Tonight is Crab and Corn soup. Gotta use fresh corn while it's still available. Frozen corn has too much water in it to be really good.

Last nigh I did cheeseburgers instead of sausage and peppers. Tonight grilled sausage sandwiches and fresh corn on the cob. I need to keep it simple as need to make my grocery list tonight. Hermine finally headed out to sea.

I never made it to Cracker Barrel last night, hubby got back from the dentist late and son#1 dropped by to discuss his trip to the doc. I made my own eggs and toast.

Tonight will be the quiche I was going to make on Sunday night. The advantage of having a written Plan is that I can swap meals around.

Labor Day so it has to be grilled! I dug out a chicken recipe that I haven't made in years but I do recall thinking it was very good. Plus vegetables on the grill and then banana pudding.

Hubby's son stopped by and took him out to lunch, so no dinner tonight after all. A Mexican lunch will last until the next day when you're old. I'll find something for myself.

I made rice, smoked sausage, onion and fennell last night, so no cooking today. I love it, so I make it infrequently, and always eat more than I should. I was relatively good last night for a change.

You are correct about carbs. They are like sugar. People with high blood pressure don't always feel that they have a problem, and thus don't watch their diet and stop taking their meds. As frustrating as it can be, there is only so much you can do. My husband has health problems,and he sneaks all this stuff in the house when I am at work. Potato chips, dip,candies, and muffins are frequent visitors at our place.

He has Glucerna, which he'll drink sometimes, but not often enough. He isn't losing weight, so he is eating enough, it's just that he LOVES his carbs and hates protein, the opposite of what is required for diabetics. He is seriously protein deficient, but since he doesn't feel it he doesn't think it's happening.

Nell will he drink Ensure? We supplement patients having chemo's diet with ensure. Then he could have the part of the meal he will eat and you could have one meal.

I was too tired to cook or even order a vegetarian pizza. Tonight we are having flounder with a crab stuffing, fresh corn on the cob brushed with a balsamic glaze and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese, and sliced heirloom tomatoes. Waiting to see what Hermine decides to do. It is not looking too good from tomorrow through Wednesday. I expect ferries to be cancelled for several days.

Pork chops tonight, which will have to be fried if I want hubby to eat it. I have mixed tiny potatoes I like to cook and mash,but I'll have to pick out the purple ones. He won't eat purple.

Hopefully he will get better and you won't be cooking two separate dinners for long.
I think I will have some sausage, grilled potato and vegetable packets and garden salad for supper tonight. Depends on how I feel. It seems things go down hill in the late afternoon and don't feel much like cooking.

Tonight is noodles and sausage.

Last night hubby didn't even taste the chili, he says he now hates even the smell of chili. I know it's his stroke, but he says it's my cooking. The only foods he'll eat are pasta, potato, bread, cheese, peanut butter and fruit. I read online about post stroke patients, and it seems that altered taste happens, and can result in malnutrition because of the limited foods they can tolerate. I don't know what to do, I can't eat like that, and I don't want to make two dinners every night. He has never cooked, or done anything in a kitchen (or in the house for that matter).
