Good evening, ladies. Another quick hello. Checking in before I retire for the day.

I now have furniture. A RED couch and a YELLOW recliner. I can't decide which to sit on!!!!
Spent the day with some new friends/neighbors. Recently had some beach time (I enjoyed it for you guys, as well...lol) - may do it again tomorrow morning!

Have a good rest of the week. I'll try to check in again soon.

Hugs,
Bonny

I lost 2.9 lbs at Weight Club today - yeah for me! I worked really hard this week as I was discouraged to be at my plateau so long. Hopefully, I will start losing again. Maybe not so much each week but a loss for sure!

I went to Water Aerobics this morning. Our CD player puked in the middle of it but we had a great turnout - over 20 women! So we will have a new CD and be up and running for our next class.

WG - Did I read that right? Only 5 months and you can retire? I say - go for it! Use the time to get the house in order and then retire. You will be so much happier when you can get rid of being on your feet for such long periods of time. If your DIL refuses to even separate from her relationship outside of her marriage, there isn't much hope. The one thing my DS got out of his consoling was he was told one person wanting the marriage isn't enough. You both have to want it to make it work. I'm sorry for your DS but I don't think he's going to get the miracle he wants.

Good morning Seesters. It is still morning and the grands who are awake are playing on the tablet so I've got a minute.

It is a bit better here. DS doesn't feel like he is doing better but he is more talkative, less angry, more animated. He certainly isn't well but is slowly improving. The biggest help is that I really annoyed DIL and she finally understands she cannot come into the house. This gives him safe ground and he is choosing to deal with her less and less. It doesn't bode well for the marriage, but he seems more at peace. He is still hoping for a miracle and a change of heart in DIL and a committment of fidelity but so far she hasn't given up her relationships.

I've got a few days off and realize each time I'm off how much I really dread going back to work. I've got about 5 months until I can retire and I'm planning to use the time and my sick leave to get some things done. I hate to think of the cost this year and of the difficulty but I also need to do this before I lose the benefits. I'm hoping by staying away some of the time that this job will become more tolerable and I can go forward and find a way to finish my years, but not expecting it.

Tammy, so glad the fix should be simple and you should be better soon. I love tomatoes and would love some from a garden but had terrible luck the last few years I tried and got fruit at the end of the season instead of early so it wasn't worth it.

SS, hope you are down. I'm sure you are going to do better with dropping the carbs. It is so nice that you have a good group to share your journey with. (Besides us, of course.)

Weezie, I'm glad you are getting in your grand time before leaving. It is hard to leave them and you will miss them. I'm sure the break will be wonderful anyway.

Weezie2, I agree about the flower beds. It is nice to have a great yard, but it does take a lot of energy and time. Unless everything is totally self sustaining, it isn't worth it. I have a friend who did xerescaping in her yard and never watered or weeded. It worked great.

LG, have fun at the quilt shop. I'm sure you will enjoy the $$$ for Shipse. It will be such fun for you all.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good Morning!
The sun is still shining this morning but rain moving back in this afternoon. Norm is taking advantage and finishing up the shed he's working on this morning before inclement weather sets in.

I have my weight club this afternoon and I'm hopeful that I'll have a loss. I'll be sure and report how I did at that scale later.

Last night our GS and his GF stopped over for final goodbyes as he leaves tomorrow for Ft Benning. We probably won't see him again until next summer! The even bigger news is he bought Whitney a Promise Ring (instead of an engagement ring) It is a beautiful diamond ring with a heart in the design of the ring. Difficult to explain but very nice. It is fun to see the two together (ahhh, young love). I really like Whitney and have no problem with her becoming part of our family. We just want Hayden to finish his education before they actually get engaged or married so this is a step in the right direction. BUT, I got married when I was 18 and Hayden is already 19 so it's hard for me to voice my opinion. You and I both know the world is a different place than it was 50 years ago but when you're young and in love that doesn't mean anything!

We had temps in the 60's yesterday or I wouldn't have lasted that long either. The front yard looks so much better. I still have a little trimming to do but my batteries ran out for my weed wacker so I have them charging now.

Kelly and I are going to redo the back gardens and really pare them down. We'll be digging them up and planting grass in quite a lot of it. Trying to manage over an acre turned out to be a bigger chore than I can handle by myself and have it look as good as it should. There is plenty of garden space up front so I will still have my fun in the dirt Less weeding will give me more time for family and crafting so it's a win win in my book.

I'll have lily and daffodil bulbs I can bring to Shipsee if anyone is interested in some.

emoticon

I'll be stopping at Lowes to get a few bags of garden soil so I can get my tomatoes and peppers planted in my garden boxes.

Today is Kelly and Brandon's 2nd anniversary so I'll be watching Claire so they can enjoy a movie and dinner together.

Have a Great Wednesday!

Good morning to you all!

Well another rainy day on tap today but had a reprieve yesterday so DH managed to get some mowing in. Hard to keep up with having all this rain. This too is life!

Week is winding down quickly and I AM happy about it. Will I feel like I should walk away fro work - NOPE but gonna anyway. It is only going to get crazier especially since the boss has mentally checked out. I do suspect by the end of the year she will be gone. What will happen after that remains to be seen but a 50/50 chance of an improvement.

Weezie, glad you got so much work done in the yard. I don't know how you do the heat/sun. I'd be a wreck! But glad you had help and time with Kelly and Claire.

Okay, I need to scoot. Wanted to wish you all a great day! Now to address the needs of today. emoticon

Hello, Seesters!

Rain, rain, and more rain here and I don't think we are having the tropical storm rain yet...DH said 2 inches since we got home on Saturday. The good news is that I am not having to water the garden. I saw some yellow cherry tomatoes yesterday - just beginning to turn yellow! emoticon I remember going to a grandmother's garden and picking a yellow tomato and eating it right out of the garden, sprinkling some salt on it -- yummmy! Of course, I would really have to watch the salt now.

LG, how nice to work in the quilt shop for a few days. I think it would be so much fun to "talk fabric". I saw Lolly's from FB showed several quilts here lately....so much fun to look at.

I am meeting BF and another good friend - some of you may remember me talking about my weight loss mentor in the past - for lunch today. The mentor has kept her weight off for 15 years....wow!

Have a very good day...

Weezie2, that is an awesome work out! I can't do that that long. Of course it is a lot hotter here and today was hot and humid. When I got up at 4 a.m. it was 80 outside. emoticon

Tammy, glad that the biopsy was good and that you know what you are dealing with.

Sharon, we all hit plateaus but don't get discouraged. I did that and started to gain again. Not good. Now I've got to get myself back to where I was.

WG, hope that you are doing well.

Weezie, I know that you are busy with work and getting everything ready for Sister Camp.

I got a call from the gal here who has the quilt shop here in town and I'm working tomorrow, Thursday and Friday of this week and the same days next week. So I'll have a bit of money to take to Shipshe!!

It was a busy productive day with Kelly. I started outside about 10:30 Kelly joined me before 11. Other than taking turns when Claire was fussy and a quick bite to eat we finally finished up at 5:30. I didn't expect her to stay so long but we got so much done. She plans on coming back on Friday to tackle the back yard with me. Karl even stopped after work and pulled some weeds with us too. I should sleep like a rock tonight. emoticon

Zumba gold class this morning. Finished sewing a basket cover for a friend now time to cut out the next purse. The part I hate the worst as well as ironing on all the interfacing. But canít sew it together without doing these things first.

Tammy glad you had a good biopsy result.

If we have plans to meet someone and on most holiday dinners we eat around 2pm. Otherwise we eat our big meal in the evening around 6pm

Time to get to my cutting table

Hi, Seesters!

SS, I really try to have a larger meal in the middle of the day, but a lot of times Joe will snack all evening if I do, so I just try to eat smaller portions. We are having periods of sun, but will be having showers off and on for the next few days.

PJ - I had to take a break from my crocheting a few years ago. Now it is hard for me to get back to it. My general inclination is to sit and crochet for hours, which is NOT good for the problem.

We finally have news about my health issue - I have been having an extreme allergic reaction to something and now I have to wait to use the steroid cream which I will be prescribed when the doctor examines my biopsy site next week. Grrrr.....it is aggravating, but I would have been concerned about cancer had the biopsy not been done.

Have a good day!

I woke up early this morning - TO SUN!!! My bedroom lite up like a Christmas tree! No rain in the forecast for today so Norm has already left to work. With all the rain still coming, he'll likely put in a long day while he can.

Weezie - I can hear how excited you are getting to leave. I don't blame you. I remember how I looked forward to my breaks from the job! I'm glad you are eliminating the ground hogs. On my walk yesterday, I saw a possum that someone hit with their car (road kill) in a very populated suburban area. I couldn't help thinking it probably would cause problems for someone if it hadn't been killed.

WG - sounds like it was a busy day. Get a good night's rest so you can be ready to hit the floor running.

PJ - I'm glad you're taking a break from sewing. Any repetitive movement can cause pain and it looks like a lot of work goes into making those purses.

Tammy - I noticed you mentioned a cold lunch yesterday. Do you eat your main meal at lunch or dinner? We try to eat our larger meal between noon and 2pm when we can and then eat a lighter dinner in the evening. Yesterday for our dinner we had what we call a snack plate. Meat, cheese and raw veggies. Norm ate crackers and dip with his but I didn't because of the carbs. We both feel and sleep better if we eat light later in the dayl Doesn;t always happen but we try.

LG - thanks for your kind words. I really have been working the same as all winter but without success. I've plateaued big time since returning home. So I am trying this week to stay under 20 grams of carbs a day and see if that shakes my body up. They say when this happens you have to change what you're doing. Good luck to you this week. 15,000 steps on a daily basis - that's a lot of steps!

I saw Jurassic World yesterday with my son, his wife and oldest granddaughter Shana, The movie was really good. It was the first time I went to an Ultra Deluxe showing.....omg...red leather reclining seats. I felt like I was at home in my lazy boy chair watching the movie. I can see why people will upgrade their tickets . emoticon

Yesterday started early for me. I started watching Claire at 7. I think I was fast asleep before 10 last night which doesn't happen too often for me.

Today is suppose to be a little cooler in the 60's and no rain. Kelly is suppose to come up and help me pull some weeds. If not then I'll be heading out shortly and get seeing how far I can get. The weeds should pull nicely after all the rain we've had.

Have a Great Tuesday!

Good morning all!

Well sneaking in here at work. Got in early so I can scoot a bit earlier. Plan to get nails done and pedi tonight after work. Last night I got clothes around and planned the week out so I have a head start and will keep necessary laundry at a minimum. Getting there.

Got another ground hog last night so we're down to two. Getting there little by there. Will be glad when they are history. The two DH threw in the back pasture area are gone so I'm sure they kept the chain of life going by being dinner for others.

The rain can quit anytime. I hope we drive into sunshine on Saturday. I am definitely looking forward to being away from work for two full weeks. Let the FUN begin!!!

Hope you all have a great day and will be thinking of you!

Hi Seesters. Stopping by before I go to bed.

Weezie, we got rid of the raccoons in my chimney by throwing 4th of July smoke bombs into the space. It worked like a charm. The sulfa smell lingered and the smoke and noise frightened them. They didn't leave the minute we put the first one down, but they did leave that night or the next day. Of course, it was brick and fire proof, but it was a great thing.

Glad you are getting your grand time in and will be ready to take a break. I'm sure it will be nice to get away from work and be with the sisters. Then it is time for fun with the other sisters.

PJ, glad you got the lawn mowed. It is a necessary evil to me but one that I do without a problem. You are having a lot of fun with the bags for sure.

Tammy, I'm glad you got your walks in. It is harder when the weather won't cooperate. I'd love an early spring day with the air just starting to warm up any time.

SS, sorry it is gloomy. I'm sure you found something fun to do then a good book?

LG, those blocks are darling. I'm sure they will be appreciated. What a lot of work.

Gotta head off to bed. Have a great day all.

Just finished mowing the front yard did the last little bit in a gentle rain. I am giving my hands a break from knitting and sewing today as my thumbs and wrists are hurting.

Tammy I am thinking all my leftover fabrics can be used to make one of those midi bags (from the pattern we bought in Branson). Do you have music on your phone using blue tooth or ear buds or do you use something else when you are walking.

LG Iím finding the more purses I sew I am finding little ways to make them easier and faster. They each have 4 zippers (which I hate) but I am getting better at putting them in. Practice makes perfect.!

Weez glad you are about to rid yourself of your unwanted groundhog family. Be sure and let us see the DH Mondo camera bag. That is a good idea for a camera. I see you are working in grand time before sister camp. Good for you. I hear you about getting the mojo back. I just canít seem to make myself walk or to Leslie either. Classes are the only thing I have been doing.

Sharon and LG you two are doing great at getting in those steps.

I'm just stopping by on my way to the sewing room. I want to get another block done. I spent the morning at SVDP and now want to get up there.

Weezie, those ground hogs can be very mean. Tell Gary to be very careful and maybe call Animal Control/Conservation Officer. When we lived in the country they set up housekeeping under our "garage" and when we'd go near the "garage" in the spring (when they had babies) they would charge at us. I took to parking my car in front of the house. Thomas finally waited until the babies were gone and we closed up the hole with concrete.

Sharon, you are doing great and I walked all over that huge campus. But I've put a push on to get 15K steps each day this week. You are doing so well!! So proud of you!!

Tammy, we have sunshine here but had rain this morning for a while.

Now I'm off to the sewing room!! emoticon

Hello, Seesters!

I am trying to get things done before rain here - DH just told me it is just out to the west of us. I don't mind not needing to water plants/garden.

I have been weeding/working on crafts/getting a cold lunch ready/walking this morning. Once the rain moves on, I shall need to go get more steps. I also see some sewing time in my afternoon.

Have a good day.

Morning!

Another gray and overcast day! I hear the rain will be returning by noon. Norm was supposed to be painting a new shed this morning but I don't think that's going to happen.

Weezie - yes, Nala will be with us in Shipshe. Assuming all goes well and we get her Thursday as promised. Sounds like you have a busy week ahead but it all is for fun stuff. Enjoy the time with the GK's and I know you will enjoy Sisters Camp! Interesting story about the ground hogs! We had a family under our porch at the old house. Wasn't nice! Good luck on getting rid of them.

LG - that was a long day. Your butt must get sore from sitting on bleachers watching the games. I was tickled I got in 11,600 steps yesterday until I read how many you got! Whew! I'll never catch up!

WG - I am afraid your DIL will continue to cause drama with your DS. If he can stay strong and stay away from her, all the better. I agree he should leave her but I sure hope he can get the kids. They shouldn't have to be exposed to her emotional unbalance. My heart is heavy and we all care and are praying.

Evening all,

Well a busy day here which was good since it rained the majority of the day. Good time to address the household, and upcoming trip, needs.

I have my sewing stuff compiled and now to finish up the trying on of clothes to see what fits. I'm ashamed to admit I'm 10 lbs heavier than last year when I went to 'sister' camp. Gotta figure out how to get my mojo back. I'm not eating terribly or a lot, just not moving like I should.

A busy week for sure but plan to get a little grandchildren time in before I leave. I will get my hair done tomorrow which my DIL does and will at their house so I can see the boys for a bit but not really 'quality' time so they had asked if I might watch them a few hours Friday after work so they could go to birthday celebration. So I plan to get all things addressed so I can do so on Friday. DH will get Ava Friday evening so she'll be here when I get home. We will have her Tuesday evening as well. So I'll get my fix before a week away.

We have a shed out back and have had a family of ground hogs that have built their home underneath. So, it seems the neighbor saw dad and shot it as it was helping itself to her garden. So DH went out and set up some live traps and caught one. He then decided he'd take some distance away and set it free. He caught two others and the neighbor shot those so now we're down to 3 and soon they too will be history. It appears we caught one today. Soon they will be gone and we can address closing up their entry under the shed. Mom and dad were good size. The babies are growing quickly so we need to get them out of here. Somewhere DH heard you had to take them some 10 miles away or they'd find their way back. Considering how easy it has been to trap them, they seem to have a better sense of finding their way back than they are from being caught.

Bonny, congrats on the move and hope you're settled soon. I admire you in following your dream.

WG, it is very nice that the siblings are rallying around their brother. I know they all keep you busy but clearly you are all very close. Priceless.

SS, look forward to hearing how the new addition handles the move. Will we meet the little one in Shipsee?

Tammy, sorry to hear you won't be joining us.

Jane, are you planning on making the trip over for the day?

LG, hope you got some more sewing in today. Looking forward to seeing the 'finished' project.

PJ, you are on fire with the bags you're making. I gotta make one of the big MONDO bags for DH as he wants it for his camera stuff he carries. He chose really ugly fabric so it won't be an easy one to make. LOL He wants it to look old and icky so no one might notice it. I'll let you know how it goes.

Weezie, love it that Kami thought it nice to bring the baby applesauce too. She's going to enjoy watching this little one grow up too!!

Now it is getting time for me to think about the work week ahead. Much to do but trying not to let it overwhelm me. One day at a time.

Hope you all have a good week!

Sorry for the fly-by yesterday. It was one long day....got up at 4a.m. so I could get some exercise in before sitting at 3 bb games. We left here and picked up Rachel and then drove to the North side of Indy. We were at one of the largest high schools I've ever seen. I really believe that it was larger than Hanover College which is about 25 miles south of me. The athletic facilities are really top notch. They have a practice field for football and their stadium is as large as some colleges! Any way, Brooke was supposed to play 3 games but one of the teams was a no-show so they played 2. Thomas and I and Rachel left after the last game and went back to Columbus and went to Mass there. Got home about 7 and I was so tired that I just went to the couch. But I did get over 15K steps in yesterday!

Tammy, it's been very hot and humid here also. Tried to work outside this morning but it just zapped me!

PJ, love your bags and hope you got to mow if that is what you wanted to do! Love fresh veggies.

WG, what can I say...my heart aches for your son. For his sake I hope that he makes his decision soon and I hope that he is able to get his kids. It is also great that his brothers and sisters are there for him. I know that my brother and his wife (now deceased) distanced themselves from all of us at one time. She didn't like us! But when she was bad we were there for her and him. I know that he appreciates it still. As I'm sure that your son does. emoticon

Weezie2, Clare and Kami are going to be close in later years. It is so cute to watch the older one helping the little ones.

Weezie, all that fabric!! WOW!! Will you still be looking for fabric in Shipshe?? emoticon emoticon

Bonnie, so good to know that you are moved and getting set up. I am so jealous!!

I got another block embroidered today. They take more time than I anticipated but as I make them I'm getting faster!

See y'all tomorrow.

Hi, Seesters!

Weezie, I didn't know there were that many varieties of hostas! I never know what I am going to learn on this thread.

WG, I am glad for so many reinforcements in DS's life.

PJ, your bags are certainly lovely. I worked on one this afternoon; it may be finished tomorrow. Mine is another orange and black out of leftover fabric from SD's bag earlier in the month.

It is very hot here, and an afternoon short downpour made it sticky, but I just got back from a walk anyway. I didn't "bop" around today with YMCA, etc...it was James Taylor all the way, today. The foot/knee/hip is acting again, and I would rather walk and be mellow than not be able to walk at all.

Good Sunday Afternoon. It is summer hot which is expected. Possible showers this afternoon when the kids come to eat. We'll see

The drama continues. DS and I attended a different church to avoid DIL. DS#2 was speaking which helped make the decision easier. Things will come to a head sooner than DS wants as the decisions will be made with or without him.

PJ, I agree that this one will not work. He needs to be the one to make the decision to do what he wants with the marriage.

I am so grateful for his siblings who have rallied around him and visited him and sat with him and been with him so he is safe and distracted. DD#1 will work from here tomorrow so I can go to work and then we'll have until Thursday to get to the next phase.

Hoping for a better normal by the end of the week, but Father's day is coming and it will be a mess for sure.

SS, that little ball of fur is adorable. I'm sure you will be enjoying her a great deal. I'm suspecting that she will be sharing a bed as well even if Bailey never did. You will enjoy her as you get to know her.

PJ, good for getting the purse done. Hope the weather was good enough to mow. It is good that your garden is producing.

Bonnie, glad you are getting settled in. I'm glad you are following your dream. Enjoy the Gulf breezes for me.

Weezie, that was very kind of you to stand in line. I'm not nearly that patient. I'm glad you are taking care of that little girl. Sensory issues are a challenge at best. I know that many wear their undies inside out to avoid the seams. Same with socks. My granddaughter will only wear leggings as they are softer than denim and, I agree, more comfortable.

Weezie2, those girls will be best of friends when they get older. How fun for them both.

I'm off to make some dessert for tonight then I'll be cleaning a bit before the kids come. Always something to do. Hi to all I've missed.

Finished another purse and now will go outside and see if it is dry enough to do anything. If not I will just pick some pea pods from the garden for dinner. That is the only thing we have ready right now.

Does anyone know what kills lilacs. We have some of ours that look brown and dead. Right next to others that look healthy. Iím wondering if it is from having so much rain.

Weez 2 that is so cute that Kami had her own tote bag of goodies and shared them.

Weez what we do for our grands waiting in line for the Ninja I mean. Any pictures? I would keep the clothes at your house also. Whoa you hit the jackpot with all that material given to you. Now to sort and find room for it all.

Tammy glad you are home shopping in your garden and that you had a good trip too.

Sharon 4 days until Norm gets his baby. She is a cutie and really is the smallest of the litter.

Good to hear from you Bonny.

Good afternoon, team. I have not left for good....I've been here a week, yesterday.

I still have no couch so I'm going to try to find something this week. I have unpacked 90% of my boxes, but I have a little personal stuff to do before I'm really settled. Spent about 3 hours on the beach this morning - trying not to fry until I have some sort of 'base.'

I haven't taken the time to read all the posts since I left TN so I'm hoping everybody is doing well. Will try to check in on you more regularly.

Have a great week.

Hugs,
Bonny

I had a busy day for sure. I was back to my house by 9:30 with Claire. Karl called about an hour later and asked if I wanted company so Kami stayed with me too until it was time to leave for church.

Kami brought her little tote bag filled with her water bottle and snacks. It was so cute when she pulled out an applesauce and told me she brought an extra one so Claire could have one too. It was very enjoyable watching Kami sit on the floor by her little cousin to read her a story. She even got to give her a bottle. I love those priceless memories.

Have a Great Weekend!

Good evening all!

I am alive and kicking but haven't been on the computer much at all. I do apologize.

Had Ava last night and this morning we drove over to Niles to their library where they had a guy in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle costume to meet and greet the kids. Talk about a turnout. I think I stood in line for nearly an hour while Ava and DH roamed the library and took in things. Our time with Michelangelo was about 2 minutes but she was so excited. Of course mom brought no clothes other than what she had on so of course I got her an appropriate outfit for the occasion. And then with her sensory issues and shoes, we took her for shoes. We will keep them here so we know she'll have something when she visits.

WG, I read through the thread and my heart goes out to you and DS. I am living the same sort of hell with my son and his wife. It makes me sick the stuff she does and he takes. I don't understand WHY but hopefully in time he'll get his fill and move on. The girls, of course, are the issue. Now his wife is saying she has some sort of health issue and is wanting the father of her first child to agree to something (I'm sure she drafted as she thinks she is an attorney) that is something happens to her he won't try to take her and she can be raised by her parents. She's tried the same with my son and he told her NO! If something happens, he'll raise his daughter. I really have to work at biting my tongue. I pray a LOT!!!

Sister camp is a week out and I've got a ton to do. My hygienist indicated when I was there ls last week that she was done with sewing for now and wanted to get rid of all the fabric she had. She doesn't like to try and mix and match herself so she figured once she decides to return to it, she'll buy hers as she does her projects. I was the happy recipient of 7 garbage bags full of fabric! Yep, gave it ALL to me. Refused payment so in going through it I found many of the same print in different colors and I'm going to make her a big bag out of it. A pattern I've not tried but it will be all done her stuff. The fleece I'm not sure what I'll do with for now but will hang on to it. Most will be passed on to my sister for the bear project. I felt like I won the lottery. LOL

SS, I see a new puppy is in your future. Adoreable and I hope the adjustment period isn't too much. I can't imagine. My DIL would like to get the boys a dog and my son is fighting it. One more thing they don't have time to keep up with. So we'll see who wins this battle. In the meantime, the two year old is getting brave or something like that and decided it would be prudent to ride his little Thomas the Train toy down the slide. They had put the slide off the side of their deck. Well, that didn't go so well and his nose and forehead were all scraped up. Kellan decided he looked like Rudolph. Good thing they have good insurance for sure.

Tammy, glad you managed to beat the storm. It was suppose to rain all day here and I don't think it ever did. Threatened but didn't. Getting pretty dark out there now so maybe we'll get some yet tonight seeing it is only 6:30 and shouldn't be this dark yet.

Okay all you gardeners. Went to a pot luck with my RCIA group this past week and the couple who hosted are into their garden. She is a retired school teacher and he's not quite there yet but has a stressful job and found many years ago that gardening was his stress reliever. These people have a beautiful house but besides that, they have over 720 varieties of hostas in their yard which are all marked. This is an amazing place. They go to hosta conventions and have groups through and teach about them. They have minis as well. We were all pretty blown away. So I may have a source of getting some as they said when they thin, they toss. I'd be happy to take some. I'll keep you posted. They a lot of $$ invested but sure is beautiful.

Sorry, I know this is long and my fault for being away so long. Hello to everyone. I'll try to improve this week and will share upon return from sister camp. Shipsee follows the week we get back. I gotta shut work off as it is nuts and loads of changes. Just focusing on the deadlines with the State I have and the rest will wait. Right?

Enjoy your evening. emoticon

Hi, Seesters!

We arrived home safely, and I even have my 10K+ steps since I got home. Some of my FB friends will see that I walked with The Beach Boys today, instead of my BF. emoticon Just as I finished my last lap at the track just across the street from my house, DH came out and caught my attention - our county was under a severe tstorm warning, and indeed within a bit it just poured....

I picked lettuce and the first cucumber of the season after we got home this morning, and I also sewed for an hour. I could easily pick some green beans as well. Love going "shopping for veggies" in my garden!

Hello Seesters!
I have also had a little computer issue again but things seem to be working better today!
Yesterday we had rain all day long! It rained throughout the night and most of this morning. This afternoon is cloudy and spitting rain every so often. We brought the MH up out of storage and Norm cleaned the carpets while I washed the bedding and rugs. I kept telling Norm we better get to cleaning it or we couldn't go to Shipshe. Well, it's done now so we can go - whew!

WG - my heart goes out to your DS. I know too well how miserable it is as a mother to see your son hurting and not be able to fix it. For all intent our DS & DIL are doing great but I still feel something isn't kosher! I'm just holding my breath at times. I honestly hope your DS can leave and find some happiness without the kids paying the price. At least with my DS, his only child is an adult now.

PJ - this is the year of rain! Most of the country is getting more than normal. AZ seems to be doing OK but they are about to go in to their Monsoon season so that will tell the tale. Are you and Frank going to repaint the house by yourselves or will you get some help?

Tammy - years ago when I did a Financial Seminar with Dave Ramsey ( a Christian Finance advisor, if you aren't familiar with him), he mentioned his burden in his heart for single mothers. At that time my DD was divorced with 3 young ones under 5. He gave her over $800 worth of classes and books to help her. She took it all to heart. I've never forgotten how it lifted her spirits and helped her. I try to pay it forward when I see single mothers struggling.

Well, this is our last week of complete FREEDOM. We got a call from our breeder who tells us Nala will be ready for her Furever home by Thursday! Yikes! Norm is so excited but I remain apprehensive. I wonder how many nights she'll cry after leaving her littermates. She is so much smaller than the other two in the litter.

WG I am so sorry to hear about DS. It is a very personal decision and one that only he can decide but with that being said my opinion is she is never going to change if anything get worse so he needs to call it quits. I think it would be best for him and the children. But he has to decide for himself. Hugs.

Good morning. Spent a lot of yesterday trying to post but was unable to do so. When DS when to the therapist, I jumped in the car and ran errands. I got home minutes before he did.

More drama yesterday with DIL and the kids. She is now using them as a weapon to contact and to threaten DS.

At least he is outside mowing now and not sitting around the house in a dark cloud. I hope he feels better soon. I really hope he decides what to do soon. His going back time and again to her when she doesn't change is codependent and not good for any of them. Unless she decides to change and "mend her ways" she will continue to treat him poorly.

SS, it is nice to pay it forward and having the clothes out of your closet, you will now have to keep the weight off or not fit into anything. Good idea.

PJ, gray is so fun right now. I'm sure you will find someone who will enjoy the bags. It is fun to express yourself and you have made them practical as well as fun.

LG, enjoy the game today. That is a lot of driving, but I'm sure you wouldn't do anything differently.

Weezie2, enjoy Claire and your time together. It is good that you have the ability to pick up the kids and take care of them when needed. That is a wonderful gift.

Tammy, TB, Weezie, SEK, and everyone, have a good day.

We have a rainy, foggy day here too.

I'm watching Claire until I catch up with Kelly for church tonight. I'm sure I'll get very little done but it's a great day all in all.

Sharon its hard to describe the gray but it is a medium gray. I definitely will post a picture when we get it painted but donít anticipate that will be anytime soon with all the rain and humidity. I was glad to hear that you found someone that you could hand down your clothes too. That is good for both of you and it sounds like she could really use them.

More rain for us this weekend so I will be doing more sewing hoping to complete at least one more purse.

Good morning, I thought I posted here yesterday....guess I didn't! emoticon It was a very busy day. Got the cake and brownies made and delivered to church and Thomas got Luke and then after lunch we settled in and he and I read for an hour. He has to read for an hour with his patch on his eye. Then we picked up Rachel and headed to Indy for Brooke's games. She is the only one on this team from her Catholic school and the others have accepted her very well. Some times it is hard to "get into" a sport if you haven't been in their "system" before. But she is improving and scoring points!! We got home about 10 so I got up and went to the gym.

WG, glad that you got a few hours by yourself. To me that is very important. And believe it or not when I got back to the truck, I found my golf umbrella! I wasn't happy that I didn't remember that it was there.

Tammy, you would have loved going to the one in Shipshe. Thomas and I stopped there last year and I got flour and dry soup mix that was wonderful. And most all the restaurants are run by the Amish in Shipshe. The food is very good.

PJ, I'm very traditional when it comes to church. Our Mass is the same everywhere but music and "atmosphere" are different. Our church building was built in 1861 and it is very traditional. The church our kids attend is built in a horseshoe shape and it is very untraditional in my opinion. I guess it is what you get used to. But glad that your DS is happy where he is.

Sharon, that is so nice of you to help out your neighbor. I'm sure that she appreciates it very much.

On the t-shirt quilt, each t-shirt has to be backed/bonded to keep it from going "every" direction! There are a couple of good books out there on making t-shirt quilts. Check Amazon or JoAnn's might have one.

Well, I need to get busy. Got to get the watering done outside and then get a shower. I want to sew some today and need to bake to refill my freezer.

Good evening. I'm home from work and the boys are at the movie. I went with DS#1 to the first Jurassic Park when he was a teenager. We went to the midnight snow and it was so much fun. I'm not feeling bad that I'm not there tonight. It turned out that DS#3 had turned down the opportunity to go as he expected to work late but his work load has been taken by others and he has been home so last night DS#4 checked and there was magically a seat available next to his.

DIL went to the dollar movie here in town so I am home free for a few hours. Too bad I'm tired and want to go to bed.

I will in a minute.

LG, sounds like a lot of fun even with the hot sun watching the grands play. I always take my golf umbrella so I don't have to sit in the hot sun. At least I have shade. It is part of my "soccer mom" stuff and I keep it in the trunk.

Tammy, the store/restaurant sounds fun. It has to be nice being with your BF and doing some fun things.

SS, it is nice to pay it forward and give your old clothes away. I'm sure you have some nice ones, but even so, you haven't worn them all that much, so it is really great to get more wear out of them. I'm glad this woman will have more clothes to wear and enjoy.

PJ, gray is a nice thing. Glad you found the perfect shade. The church sounds interesting. That is a pretty money saving thing to play recorded music and have the words on the wall. We do that at times, and it is fine. Often there are not enough hymnals in some of the places, so it works well. If your son is happy there, that is a good thing.

Glad you had fun with the boys. That is a lot of climbing and running around. I'm sure they had fun. I hope DIL does better with the injections. Hopefully she will feel better soon.

I think the T shirts are bonded to interfacing before being put into the quilt. I've seen quite a few on Pinterest, so I'll bet you are not going to have a problem. My sister made one for her DD with her swimming T shirts. It was a fun thing to take with her when she left home.

Off to bed soon. Have a great day tomorrow.

Try #2 to post....last post just told me there was a "compatibility issue" - I have NEVER seen that message before, but oh, well.

It is very hot and muggy here, but we are having fun. Yes, we are still at the state park. DH, BF, and I went on a little trip to find a bulk food store in the area that I heard about last year, and it happened to be owned by a Mennonite family in an old order Mennonite settlement. The bulk food store actually had a restaurant in it that we HAD to try as it was almost lunch time, and we all agreed that our meals were quite delicious. My BF loved her chicken salad, and she is quite picky about her chicken salad; DH liked his roast beef on homemade noodles. I liked my grilled ham and cheese. The sandwiches had a few homemade chips on the plate, and bread and butter pickles, which were both delicious. We also visited with other customers and learned of a bakery in the same neighbourhood and we visited that as well. We all agreed that we wish to go back when we all come back here in the fall.

SS, how very nice that you gave the lady the clothing. I do hope they fit. About 25 years ago, I was a single parent of two littles, and the choir director at my church was going to return to Germany for a few years and gave me all her clothing. What a bonanza for me! There was not much $$$, and the laws concerning child support were not what they are now, so $$$ was very tight, and it helped so very much.

PJ, I find that I am very traditional in what I prefer in worship styles, too. I don't mind parts of a service to have other instruments, but for the main portion of the worship service I prefer piano and/or organ. It is interesting to me that my 28-year-old DS does as well. LOL!

WG, did the outing help DS?

Good Afternoon!
Community Coffee this morning. After coffee I invited one of the ladies from our park that is poor yet trying to make it on her own over as I have a big pile of 2X tops that I want to get out of my home. She was so excited. She told me she hasn't had a new top in over 3 yrs. It unfortunately shows as all her clothes have stains or holes. A lot of the women are standoffish when she comes to coffee but I wanted to help her. Hopefully she can wear them and look a little better. If they fit, I have some more that I can pass on to her.

Our time at the casino was OK. Norm won $30 and I lost my $20. We had a nice dinner and I ate well. Ordered their burger and ate without the bun. I weighed in at our weight club with a .3 lb loss. Not much but after overeating last weekend, I've been struggling just to get back to my low weight so I was glad with even the small loss!

PJ - good times with the GSs! Both the boys and you will remember forever, especially you playing (sliding) with them! I love the purses and wish I hadn't just bought a new one through Thirty One home party. I don't think it's near as nice as yours. I'm glad you and Frank found a gray color you both like. I am still wondering if it is one of new darker shades they are painting some of the new homes right now.

LG - I don't envy you sitting out in the hot sun to watch the game. I enjoy BB games because it's not outside. Outdoor sports are either hot, cold or buggy! Your GKs appreciate all the games you go to and support them though.

Sample #7 and we finally found the gray we both like. Not sure how soon we will paint with all this rainy weather but at least we have the color and the paint. Lots of prep work also washing the steel siding and to make sure it is good and clean so the paint will stick.

Took my GSs to a nature sanctuary yesterday (they are 7 and 9) and then to a playground and Burger King for lunch. I even slid down 2 two story slides and got some swinging time in. I didn't climb on the cable/rope area with towers. Might have tried but I was in flipflops so knew better. But I will tell you just climbing up to slide was exercise. But fun.

I am returning to the dentist to have one of my recent fillings ground down. I think it is just a little high. At least I hope that is the problem.

Two more pursed ordered so I think I am going to make about 3 more with colors everyone seems to want (blue) and give them a choice. Of course the first will have more to choose from.

DS and fiancť are making appointments for the kids and her to talk to a counselor/psyschologist which I am so glad to hear. She will be having epidural shots in her low back double strength for the pain. The issue is her nerves to her spine are deteriated from the car accident and seizures she sometimes has from having had brain surgery a few years ago removing a tumor (which was not cancerous). And she has not had a seizure for almost a year.

Tammy I do like going to their little church but it is about a 30 minute so wonít go all the time. Also the music is not what I am used to. They donít use hymnals and no choir or piano etc. One lady leads and they have recorded music playing with the words projected on the wall. It is just more modern with a lot of amens and praising as you are singing. A mild evangelical type thing I guess. How did the camping trip go?

LG, Tammy, or Weez have you ever done a tshirt quilt? DS has hinted that he has some of his charity ride tshirts he would like to have made into a quilt.

Gotta go and get ready for my dental appointment.

Stopping by to emoticon I'm tired and just sat out at Luke's game. It was 93 when the game started. And we had to sit in the sun. Not much shade there. While Thomas and Luke went to the river, I got some sewing done on the embroidered quilt. Still got a lot to do on it.

Tomorrow Brooke plays bb in Indianapolis so we'll be going and then on Saturday she plays North of Indy. We plan to go to those games also.

We have 2 funerals at church this week and I've got to bake a cake and brownies so hope to get that all done tomorrow.

I'll try to get back tomorrow. emoticon

Yesterday turned out to be a very long day. My BF's son had his surgery down in Washington DC. A controversial new procedure by Dr. Sugarbacker. The surgery was 16 hrs. No wonder Dr Sugarbacker has a permanent stoop from doing surgeries! I finally got news at 2am that Torey made it through surgery and is in the ICU recovery room. Praise the Lord for answered prayers. Torey is not out of the woods yet and has a long recovery ahead of him but he is young and very determined to regain his health so he can get back to being a father, cop and loving husband. If anyone can do it, I'm betting on Torey. Thanks to everyone who has been praying and I would love for you to keep him and his family in your prayers this whole week!

I have our weight club WI this afternoon and after our meeting, Norm and I are going out to dinner with our friends at the casino and of course, we'll try our luck at the slots! All of us walked away winners last time so the odds are not good for today but we are going to press our luck!

Hello, Seesters!

We are at the state campground with my BF, but we are hardly "roughing it". DH helped her set up her new camper, but there were issues with the hot water heater working yesterday. Perhaps it was "fixed" by late evening. It was quite humid yesterday, but supposed to be a bit better today. The river here is up quite a bit, so I don't know that either DH or BF will be trout fishing.

WG, I think you meant that DS#3 is battling depression with the situation. ??? That would be quite understandable, and how good that so many can help.

PJ, loved the new bag that I saw yesterday on FB.

TB, I hope the illness is better today.

PJ, how was future DIL's doctor appointment? The baptisms have now happened. :-) Are you enjoying their church? I would not enjoy going to the oldest's SD's church on a regular basis, as I am very traditional these days and her church is not. As for physical therapy,
I think it is a wonderful thing and hope some of it would help the future DIL.

The plans for today include just vegging...and I do have some raw veggies. LOL!

Hi all. Had 4 grands from 7:20 this morning and they left a few minutes ago. It was good to visit with the kids. The grands were cute but with the four of them it was harder to spend time doing what they wanted to do.

DS#3 got up around noon and went to work. He is not doing well. I'm supposed to and am asking him if he is safe. He says he is but every time he has contact with his wife, he is in a blue funk. Tomorrow, the boys are all going to Jurassic Park together. I hope this is a good experience. He needs a happy time and a good outlet. I'll just lock the doors and be happy.

PJ, I'm glad the baptisms went off without a problem. Hope DIL to be has some things she can do. Some research indicates that people who do physical therapy have the same success that people with surgery have for their back pain. I'm sure that isn't true in all cases, but for many people giving the supporting muscles strength and learning how to move healthy and safely really helps.

Hope the fabric store was fun.

TB, I know you are watching your air moement with yoru asthma. I hope you feel better soon.

LG, I don't blame you for staying home if the travel is too far.

Have a great day all.

I decided to go to the barn, after all, this morning. I didn't do much with Red except feed and groom him; that's his favourite kind of visit emoticon He was really glad to see me, though.

I know I have been missing again.

We have been trying out paint colors for the outside of the house. Still havenít found the ONE we want. But did get the paint on sale and just didnít have them tint it until we are sure of the color. We both agree we want a gray but finding the one we like is the problem.

I tried mowing the front yard on Sunday afternoon and for the first time I was not able to finish it. I felt so light headed from the heat and humidity. DH had to finish it with the rider. Weez2 I know exactly how you feel

I have another purse ordered. So a visit to Joanní s was in order after class this morning. As always I bought more because of the good sale going on. Oh to be going to Shipshe with you where I could have even more fun buying material. I will be babysitting the 2 boys tomorrow and DS fiancť is having some tests done to see what they want to do for her back. Car wreck complications from a few years ago that are getting worse. I think I am going to take the 2 boys to one of the local nature sanctuaries and walk on a trail or two and look at their small museum.

SEK havenít been walking as such lately. Iím sure a 5k would get my but right now. But we should think about finding one we can do together maybe even something where Tammy could meet us too.

BTW the baptism did happen on Sunday. Finally there were 6 that were baptized all of DSís little family a niece and her friend.

Tammy I am so sorry to hear about your mom and also that you wontí be able to attend the Shipshe event. But you need to be there for your mom. Iím sure she is scared.

Sharon that menu for Shipshe sounds delicious. I think Norm has landed the perfect job for him. I love the walking taco idea. I could eat it once in a while but try and stay away from chips. Etc.

LG those pies are always a hit in Shipshe.

TB Iím sure Red and you are both having withdrawals hope you are feeling better so you can go see him.

Ok gotta go and start cutting out material.

Sharon, I love the idea of BBQ sandwiches!! I have peach, apple, rhubarb/strawberry, and bumbleberry pies to bring. I'll try to get some Cool Whip if everyone wants it. I'm getting excited about going. Sure hope Jane comes. Haven't seen her in a few years. I think I still have her email address so I'll email her too. I sure wish Norm lived closer....I could use a "handyman". Thomas J. doesn't like doing those jobs!

Weezie2, I have a few patterns that I'm bringing to Shipshe for you. Hope you can use them. Make sure that I don't buy any more of that Minky! I've sworn off that stuff!

TB, saw where you were headed out to see Red. Must be feeling better. So glad.

We had a great day yesterday with Luke. He and Thomas went fishing. Thomas hates cellphones and will only use his when he has too. So as they were leaving the place where they were fishing, Luke texted me!!! I couldn't help but laugh. Fed him and got him to his baseball game and met his family. Tonight we aren't going to Brooke's game. It is just too far to drive. We'll go on Thursday and Saturday.

Now got to get moving....they are going to want lunch.

It's been a busy day catching up with my laundry and cleaning house. I have Claire tomorrow and I don't want any distractions emoticon

Our first craft fair is the end of this month. I need to take inventory to see what I need to add to possible encourage another sale. I like the idea of more petty cash for Lollie's or that new quilt store . emoticon

Have a Great Tuesday!

Good Morning!

We woke up to fog this morning but at least it isn't raining! I miss the sun but at this point, I'll settle for gray and glummy. Such strange weather - makes me nervous for what comes next. Parts of the country flooded while others are in a huge drought.

Today is my only free day this week. So I am going to relax and enjoy some down time before everything gets busy again. Norm is off working for a few hrs. He enjoys his new job as he can work however much he wants in a week. He enjoys working 2-3 hrs a day instead of full days. He built (or rebuilt) a shed last week and got nice kudo's both from the owner and the owner of our park. The owner of the park is very happy with Norm's work!

TB - it is miserable to be sick with the cough. I well remember I was miserable most of last summer due to fatigue and the cough. I let it go way too long. If it doesn't clear up soon, seek medical help. I found out I was diagnosed for what they call bronchial spasms and suffered way longer than I should have. You will want to get back to Red as I'm sure he's missing you!

WG - I chuckled when you mentioned the spring in our steps. That's exactly what I've got going with my new Gravity Defyer shoes. The spring in the heel actually cushions the blows a normal shoe doesn't and allows me to walk more with a lot less pain.

LG - with your approval, I'll plan on making the BBQ meat and buns. I'm not sure what kind of salad but I'll make a salad too. It's fast approaching and I'm really looking forward to seeing you and the others that are coming! Country Jane PM me that she may try to come for just a day to see all of us. I encouraged her to do so.

SEK - how you coming with finding an RV for the camping season? Did you give up the hunt or are you still hoping to purchase an RV?

Sharon: Congrats on your win.

Tammy: I hope the biopsy went well.

I don't have much to report because I haven't been doing much of anything. Simply walking across the livingroom or stringing a few words together sends me into coughing fits. The cough is VERY slowly getting better so hopefully I'll feel like going to visit Red soon.

Hello to Lily, WG, SEK, the 2 Weezies and anybody I've missed.

Have a great day.
