Good Morning!
I went to the Clubhouse for coffee and donuts this morning. I sat and visited with two new couples from Oklahoma. They are only going to be here a couple weeks as they are on there way home from traveling all winter.

I am doing laundry today and this afternoon I am going downtown as the entire Main Street (3 blocks of stores) are having their spring sidewalk sale. Sounds interesting!

PJ - I love burning candles but I'm not good at remembering to blow them out when I leave the house or MH. Norm hasn't forbidden me but has highly discouraged my use of them, lol. But I do love having our place smello good! I tried the melting wax but I have spilled two of them already. So now I pretty much stick to the PlugIns!

We have sunshine today still windy but the sun sure feels good. Frank will be grilling pork chops for dinner as well as his dumping of the trailer Saturday duty. He doesn't fish on Saturdays as the lake is always much busier on Saturdays. I have done some hand washing this morning and they are out drying. I also uncovered some jar candles I forgot I brought so have one of them burning, It smells so nice in here today. I will continue to knit today. It may be too cold for me to be comfortable sitting outside today.

It is 74 degrees here and sunny. Another beautiful day.

We drove down to the Portland WalMart hoping for better stocked shelves. They were missing a few items on my list but nothing we can’t live without.

We ate a sandwich at Subway. So no cooking today! We will just have a light dinner later.

Looks like it might be the start of spring break here. They started rolling in yesterday. So far in our loop it has only been grownups but I'm sure the teens and families will be arriving this weekend. It will definitely last at least 2 weeks and maybe until we leave. It really depends on how many kids are in real school and have an actual spring break.

Our weather is supposed to be in the 60s and rain chances going up this afternoon. I will continue to knit (trying to finish a pair of socks) and when they are done I will pack my yarn away until we get home. Time to rest my arthritic thumb wrist anyway. I will continue to read. I brought colored pencils with me that I haven't even touched this winter nor have I ridden my bicycle.

We got out yesterday to buy groceries drove over to Many LA WalMart just for a change There shelves were really empty. So ended up stopping at 2 other places to get the eggs and a couple of other things we were having issues finding.

Today is nice and sunny in the 50s and not very windy. I just finished with a load of laundry. Now to do some knitting and reading. I am going to wait to go to the quilt shop until next week as temps are supposed to be warmer (I think) my quilt book did come and it has lots of basic information as well as 100s of quilt block patterns.

WG enjoy that walk in the sunshine

Hi Seesters. It is sunny and warm here today. Should be near 50 which is nice and super warm for this time of year.

PJ, so glad you can at least hang the clothes around your place. It is frustrating to have to do it, though. I hope your quilt book arrived.

SS, that looks like a live oak. They are gorgeous. I'm sure Casey has some in GA as well. I love the Spanish moss as well but it may not be growing where you are. I'm glad you are still having a great time. Time flies and although it hasn't been an ideal time in the South, I'm glad you have enjoyed yourself.

LG, happy that you are moving better. Hate it when you can't concentrate but it happens. Hopefully it will get better in the next week.

Tammy, I saw that you got an appointment for the vaccine. The J&J vaccine is a great one as well. The numbers are a bit disturbing and it may be that with the earlier testing the others are the ones who are off. The JJ vaccine was tested later and in more parts of the world so it does work well against the South African variant which is a big deal. It also is 100% effective at preventing severe disease and hospitalization which is a winner for me. It may not prevent as much as the others but their numbers are going to drop as well with the variants. One vaccination is a winner for me as well. It is a good deal and I'm telling my kids that it is a good one if they have an opportunity. The biggest blessing is that it is more "shelf stable" and will be able to be used in more remote areas and increase the numbers of people vaccinated which is a big advantage. Hopefully it will be soon that more people have the opportunity to be vaccinated and we can reach herd immunity. Here with almost 40% of the population under the age to be vaccinated, it will take more adults accepting the vaccine to give us herd immunity. I hope that people are more willing than they seemed to during Janurary.

Glad DD's migraines have lessened. It is hard to feel rotten like that often. I hope that you will be able to help out as needed and not have to travel too much.

I'm off to walk the dog. It is warm enough to do it now and I need some sunshine. The dog needs attention as well since he is bored and getting into mischief. His favorite thing is to unwind yard and chew up the skeins. Sometimes I'll have a lot of strings and no yarn at all. I do keep it in bags that are zipped but he seems to be a master at finding some things that have been left out on another day.

Have a great day.

LG - No, the Angel Oak is in Charleston. The tree by us is also an oak tree but is know as The Big Tree.

Tammy - I hope with less stress your DD’s migraines go away.

Hi, Seesters!

LG, so glad you are seeing and feeling improvement. emoticon

PJ, are you headed back in the April 1 time frame as well? I got was able to get out for a short walk today - it is a crisp day, but the sun is shining today. I need to get out for a lot more of them.

TB, love the newest quilt!

WG, what's your opinion on the J&J vaccine? I am beginning to think that I might be able to just go ahead and get it before the various places I am waiting to hear back from with the other two vaccines. I'm soooooo ready for more "normal."

SS, it has been fun to read of your TX times and I will be enjoying that for a while yet. emoticon

It seems DD's migraines have lessened to perhaps just headaches. She indicated that her position change is already less stress. It's not going to be quite as easy to get her to work if I need to take/get her for some reason, but it won't be bad. Perhaps they will have another vehicle before year end. Perhaps not.

Well, on to more chores on this pretty day...hello to all emoticon

Things are much better today. I slept probably 8 hours last night! A first since my surgery. The swelling is gone in my left leg but not quite in my right. So still elevating it & wearing a compression sock.

Im mostly reading & working crossword puzzles. Im still having a hard time concentrating.

Sharon, sorry about your weather. Is that the Angel Oak tree? I remember reading about it.

PJ, sorry you are stuck inside also but your soup sounds good. I could probably put something together but Thomas would have to go to the store!

Morning!
When I got up it was 68 degrees so I put on capris. While Nala and I were out walking a cold front moved in and in just a few minutes the temps dropped to low 50's with rain and wind! So I agree with PJ, it will be an inside day!

Yesterday the men went to a Gun Show which held no interest for the ladies. So my friend and I went to a very nice restaurant for lunch, did a little sightseeing and finished up with some retail therapy. Sandy had not seen the Big Tree so that is one of our stops. The tree is over 1,000 years old. We laughed trying to take a selfie of us with the tree in the background. We agreed the teenagers are much better at it.

WG - this last month will fly by but it will be nice to move on and get back home!

LG - I am really missing family about now so I envy you have time with yours. But I am glad you could. I'm sure it lifted your spirits. You are so active, it's difficult for you to be forced to slow down but in the end, you will be pleased with the results.

PJ - with the high humidity we have here by the Coastal Bend area, it is difficult to dry anything outside of the dryer. I usually hang a few tops in our shower. Norm installed a bar for me and the sunlight helps. Do you have the humidity as well? I cross my fingers your new quilting book arrives today. I downloaded a new Kindle book for me to read this afternoon.

We are having an inside day here rainy, windy and colder. So it will be a day of reading, knitting and making soup for our dinner.

I washed some clothes yesterday and hung some out but they never dried so we have some clothes hanging in various places in the trailer drying. LOL not a Better Homes and Garden picture for our trailer right

Hoping my new quilting book arrives today so I will have something fun to look through and get even more ideas. In the winter I always think of new projects and ways to revamp our house when get back back home. Usually just rearranging what is already there or painting something for the house no major changes.

Hi Seesters. Have grands here today. More coming this afternoon with another dog to play. I have a quilt ready to quilt and have no time to do it. Had to make a run to the grocery store to get the special chicken nuggets that Enterprise likes. It's always something.

LG, so happy you are finished and can recover. Hopefully it will be quick and your discomfort will decrease as things get better. It has to be nice to be done even though you have a bit of a recovery although I've heard from many that hip recovery is much better.

SS, glad you got to stay home and take care of things although you are usually up for a good time with friends. It will be a quick month as you wind down and get to Casey's for a few days

PJ, hope the fog clears soon. I love looking at it but don't enjoy being out in it.

It is time to get busy again. I've taken a break to watch the news in another room since I didn't get to it yesterday. Have a great day. .

Hello, ladies!

Im improving and I think I might be able to ditch my walker pretty soon. My biggest problem now is swelling. Im hoping it will go away soon. Trying to do exercises that they gave me but they can be painful. I know the doctor said walking was the best exercise. So trying to walk around the house as much as possible.

PJ, I hate fog! Hope Frank gets to fish a lot. And catches some too.

Sharon, April 1st will be here before you know it! I know Im looking forward to warmer days.

A couple of the ladies went into Corpus Christi this afternoon and invited me but I passed. I was in the middle of making our dinner. I wanted to eat and clean up. They were ready to go and so now I got my work done I can relax.

PJ - we are booked through to April 1st. Then we will leave and head to Casey’s for a few days, depending upon the weather back home! I hope Frank is successful with fishing. Norm has pretty much given up on fishing here. Today he is up working in the exercise room. He is putting in hooks for band exercises.

Our fog has finally burned off and it is partly cloudy.

LG - I hope you can feel an improvement each day now that your surgery is over.

Foggy here today also. Frank is hanging close to the shoreline but is trying to fish. I elected not to walk today unless the fog clears. I didn't walk yesterday either just had a horrible headache and the blahs. I spent the day reading and knitting. Rotating back and forth giving my eyes and thumb rest doing it that way

LG I hope you continue to recover quickly. DId they give you an estimated time for recovery. I'm sure you will be glad when you can get around and get into your more normal routine and not be hurting.

Hi Seesters. I'm glad to see that all are returning to a more normal sort of life.

LG, glad you are done with surgery. Hope recovery is good and quick.

PJ, happy you are able to do laundry in the park. It is nice to get it dried as well without having to hang it out. Quilt fabric shopping is very fun. Enjoy. Happy the stores weren't out of everything.

SS, so glad you have heat and Internet. It is nice to be able to do more normal activities that you went there to enjoy. Hopefully you will be able to continue enjoying things and have fun.

I sandwiched another quilt but need to do a monogram on it so I'm waiting until that is in place to mark it to quilt. I have another one in the pipeline so it is still ongoing. I have developed tendonitis in my ring finger and it is hard to do much in terms of extending my fingers without discomfort so I'm babying it most of the time and hoping it heals and quiets down.

The kids texted last evening and announced they are having a girl and all the genetic screening is done and no problems. They are so excited.

Have a great day.

Frank is out fishing for the 1st time here. I have done 2 loads of laundry at the park facilites. We haven't gotten our washer set up, Saw a few people to talk to this morning that I had not seen yet (from past years) It was nice to have some short visiting time.

We went to Walmart yesterday and bought groceries. It was really busy and of course as expected several empty shelves but we were able to get everything we needed..

LG you get a kick out of this I have been thinking about what future quilts I want to make and ordered a used book from ebay this morning. 1000Great Quilt Blocks. There is a quilt store in one of the neighboring towns that I have been to before and will get there while we are here. Can't wait to get out and do a bit of shopping by myself.

The sun is out again today in the upper 60s so far and not much wind. We are to have rain moving in tomorrow and last a few days (if the report is correct).

Good Morning!
Every day things are getting better here. This morning we have our internet back. The stores are getting restocked from all the empty shelves. So much food was spoiled in the dairy, meat and frozen dept. The only thing remaining is we are on a Boil Alert for our water. They figure that will take up to a week or two before that is lifted. So we remain drinking bottled water for now.

It's 60 degrees and foggy out yet but it is burning off and will get in the mid 70's later today.

Norm is back to his wood carving class today and all our activities are resuming. So now last week will just be a memory!

Hi Seesters. It is another cloudy day but if it means more snow then I'm happy. I'm not doing much and I did my errands yesterday when I was out.

PJ, I'm glad you are where you are. It is nice to have a bit more open place so you can do laundry and get your walks. I'm sure that there will be vaccines available when you return to your home. Hopefully the numbers will keep going down and keep all of us safer.

SS, it's hard to keep you and your friends apart. I'm glad you had a happy hour and have had fun together. It makes the misery of the week lessened. Stay safe and warm. Hopefully the stores will be restocking soon.

Tammy, I'm glad Joe got his vaccine. Hopefully you will be notified soon. It is good that you can get on a list. My BIL got his vaccine a few days early because his son is a pharmacist and had an extra vaccine at the end of the day. He has multiple problems and is not careful. He needs to be protected.

I do feel bad for your DS as his stubbornness about the vaccine and Covid is not protecting his family. Hopefully when you are vaccinated you will feel safer taking care of your grandson. I'm careful to turn the kids heads away from my face when we hug and I feel fairly safe most of the time.

I'm glad the snow is cleared enough to get out and get your groceries. I think the winters here have been very mild the past 10 years compared to the years before.

LG, I did indeed get the Pfizer vaccine. Hopefully I won't have a problem either. I always get a sore arm but that is better today so I'm thinking that I'm past whatever is worst this time. Sorry you aren't getting the quilt back so you can bind it. I'm sure you will be back upstairs doing things like that sooner than later. I do have to pace myself doing the binding but it isn't too hard as I don't make big quilts.

I'm glad you have some books to read while you are recuperating. Thinking of you this weekend. Good luck.

I'm off to do some busy things. I have laundry to do and some other things that are always waiting for my attention. I need to finish binding a quilt and sandwich another. I'm getting done with the "to do" list.

Have a great day.

Just got back from walking to store/laundry where I did a load of whites. I walked while they washed and again when they were drying. It felt so good in the bright sun although a bit cool and windy.

The manager said they are to start mail delivery here today but all there mail comes from Shreveport and nothing has come in yet to them.

I remember when mom and dad moved to Rogers AR thinking the weather would be milder there than in KC area. They were wrong they were always having more snow then we did. I was so glad when they finally moved back to the KC area.

Frank is out organizing our site today. SLowly things are coming together.

As far as the vaccine I don't think we have a chance of getting it here not after this weather event SO we will check into it when we go back home.

Good Evening!
It’s been a nice day with the sun shining and warmer temps. I boiled water to do the dishes and spent time getting things vacuumed and dusted.

It was warm enough that a few even came out for Happy Hour. A group of us went out to dinner together so that probably won’t help my WI tomorrow! But it was so nice for us to go and enjoy ourselves after our stressful week.

Tammy - I don’t blame you for being so concerned about Covid. I have lost two good friends this winter. People our age are right to be concerned.

Hi, Seesters!

LG, yes, I have read those books and loved them! My BF started them back when the pandemic started and has really enjoyed them, too.

WG, I am so happy for you today, getting the vaccine! I am on three/possibly four lists so SURELY I will get contacted soon. I turned down the opportunity to help DS and DIL by watching my little buddy today (day care closed when the Springfield, MO school system closes) and I imagine that I put them in quite a bind. I've written how it was back in December, so I won't go through it again in this post. I have felt bad about it and will be very happy when I have been vaccinated. I know I will still need to take precautions, but lessening the risk of severe illness with the vaccine will make me feel better for both of us. I do wish DS felt the same as we did about the virus; I ask the good Lord to protect him often. He does have to wear a mask at work, but I am not sure that he would if it wasn't mandatory. He declares he is NOT going to get the vaccine. My opinion is that he needs it, especially with his Crohn's.

PJ and SS, so glad things are looking up! It is just been so unnerving to watch it happening...

We have sun here as well and the road has been graded a few times today. I am about out of butter and eggs...Cocoa has been a fairly good pup, especially when considering she hasn't been to daycare in 11 days to run off some of her energy.

I saw that we had more snow in the past couple of weeks than we had had all winter season long in 6?7? years.

Have a good day. Hello to all...

Yippee we have sunshine 47 degrees, water and electricity is working. I just came back from a very short walk in the campground. It felt so good to get out (its been over a week) since I have walked. We don't appreciate the small things until an episode like this happens And we were so much luckier then other places in Texas.

We are still waiting on our forwarded mail as well as a couple of other orders to arrive..

Giving the trailer a little bit more time to thaw and warm up then it is shower time for sure.

We are getting more snow today and Ive had enough of it but at least we arent as bad as you guys in Texas. I really feel for you.

I went out yesterday but wont go out anymore til Sunday. Im still binding the pink/white quilt. Have not heard from Darrell about the baby quilt. Was hoping to have it done by now to get the binding sewn on.

WG, so glad you got in so fast to get your vaccine. Weve had both & our county is opening up so I can see a faint light at the end of the tunnel. Hope you get the Pfizer vaccine as my sister, brother and BIL got the Moderna and got sick with the 2nd shot. Not horrible just felt bad for about 24 hours. Thomas & I had none of that. But thats a small inconvenience to be safe!

Tammy, hope you can get in soon too. I have begun reading the quilt books by Jennifer Chiaverini. Im on the 3rd one and the 4th is on order. I figure they will keep me entertained while recovering. Have you read them? Very interesting.

Got to start dinner. Im batch cooking and freezing some for after surgery.

Hi Seesters. I'm having a WooHoo day. The governor opened up vaccines to my age group and I got online while the press conference was still going and got an appointment for tomorrow morning. I'm excited. I will be done with vaccines and the following period by the end of next month. That will be wonderful and my kids will feel safer visiting me and I will be safer as I need to go places. It is good and I'm happy.

Sharon, stay safe and warm. I'm glad you have your warm bed to enjoy. It is hard not to be miserable. I hear the weather will warm some by the weekend. It has become a great scandal to hear the power company failure. One city in Texas went on the national grid and they haven't lost power at all.

PJ, hope you are still warm and safe.

Tammy, glad you were able to get out and shovel. Hopefully the mail will be delivered today. It sounds fun for your sister to drive for Amish. It would be a great day job for sure since they are early risers. Hope you can get your vaccine soon and can be safer.

I'm off to eat lunch. I have binding to put on a quilt. I got it ready but the grands came home and it didn't work to sew any more. I chatted with Sis and DS for a minute. Evenings sometimes get filled with silly things.

Have a great day.

We have power but that’s about it. Still no water or propane. Thank God for our space heater and heated mattress pad. The nights are better than the days. The city of Rockport has turned the water off until tomorrow (hopefully). Then we will be on a boil alert until further notice. We have no internet so I am checking in by phone.

I know so many of us are struggling this week so I am praying for all of us and often!

HI, Seesters!

I got outside and shoveled around our mailbox a bit ago. The mail person apparently couldn't navigate the snow yesterday and couldn't deliver Joes Eliquis. The snow handled nicely and I'll go shovel a "just in case" path in a bit. It is a beautifully sunny day right now and that will help, as well as the increasing temps. We reduced our power usage the past few days, but we were never involved in a blackout. I hope to read our TX friends have power soon.

My youngest sister quit her night job a few weeks ago and has been driving Amish who have settled in the area the past few years. I'm sure it's much easier on her body than the overnight hours. I don't know if she plans to do this for very long, but I've read about the Amish calling for a driver in my Amish books and so its interesting from her standpoint. She took two groups to a pond that had frozen over to skate before the temps ended up below zero. She has been receiving calls this morning from Amish women, including one to take a child to school.

I'm exploring 4 different organizations to get my first shot.

Hi Seesters. Snow last night. Finally getting some good snows in the mountains and not a ton on the valley floors which is perfect. It was beautiful this morning to see the sparkling snow and the pristine yards. Gone now, but it was fun.

BIL got his Covid vaccine yesterday. His son is a pharmacist at one of the "distributing pharmacies." They had a dose left after all the appointments so he called his dad to come and get it. It is good as he has dementia and is less than careful with his judgment. Hopefully he can get his second one as well, but it shouldn't be a problem since his age group will be eligible.

Tammy, I saw that Joe is getting/got his vaccine. So happy for you to have one less worry this week.

Making banana bread again today. The grands love getting their own loaves. It is fun for them. I'm also planning on putting the binding on a quilt then hopefully will set up the next one to be quilted. I think I have two more tops to quilt and I'll be caught up.

My SIL lost her father to a heart attack. She was unable to attend the funeral as she is from Russia and it was too dangerous to return yet. She hadn't seen her father in a year and a half and he had gotten his visa to return to the US just before Covid broke out. When we can meet outside, she is returning to visit/stay at her home here and we will spend time together.

I miss being with family. It is hard and I'm so over all of this but will hang tight as the end is in sight. Have a great day.

We are dealing with the same issues, PJ.
Frozen pipes
Empty propane tank
No TV
No WiFi

We went to the clubhouse and filled a couple containers for bathroom uses and we have bottled water for drinking. We are thankful for our space heater and generator!

The sun was out this morning but now it’s clouded over. It is supposed to get up to 40 this afternoon so hopefully that will help.

The local TV said this is the coldest it’s been in over 40 years!

We now have no water frozen pipes somewhere but with the sun out we have fingers crossed that it will thaw. We were able to flush and had water in bathroom until this morning. Now none. luckily I had a jug of water in the bathroom for flushing and some water bottles filled in frig. One of our propane tanks ran out but we have 2 so we have the furnace. ELectric has been off and on so we have a space heater we use when there is electricity.

It is a beautiful snow here in the park where there aren't any car tracks etc and overlooking the lake. I can say that now that the sun is out I didn't feel that way yesterday when it was so cloudy.

I have been trying to get info on getting the Covid vaccination while we are here Left messages. We will only do it if we can get them both in before going home.

I have been knitting and reading. Cabin fever for sure it will be better when I can get out and walk again. And of all years I purposely did not bring my big fuzzy winter boots. I do have sweats and winter coat. Oh well it supposed to be in the 60s by the weekend.

Take care all.

BTW I fixed the apple pie filling mixed with the cinnamon rolls recipe that was on FB for Valentines Day treat. It is really good next time I will try it with Cherry Pie filling.

emoticon Happy Valentines Day.

I spent most of my morning doing the Weekly Summary for the challenge. I have not figured out why my computer freezes up on me

I did bake a pan of brownies for Norm to take to the Clubhouse this afternoon for the Daytona 500 race.

This evening is our Sweetheart Dinner. They are serving a spaghetti dinner with salad and garlic toast. It’s all provided by the park!

We are surviving the cold spell but it’s difficult to keep the MH warm. The best time is when we go to bed with covers and the heated mattress topper. We are snug and warm!

Hi Seesters. Today is Gunslinger and Enterprise day. They are good boys and usually get along well and are not needy so we have a lot of fun. The dogs are together again but the smaller dog (belonging to DS) had a hissy yesterday and now my dog is sufficiently subdued and less controlling.

I'm with you all worrying about PJ. I'm sure she is safe but they will be traveling slowly and can camp for a couple of days while traveling so they can be safe. They are careful people and will do great.

Tammy, I'm sorry you are having trouble getting the vaccine. It has been hard for many so far but this week there are open appointments in places every day. I want to think that my turn will come sooner, but they are only about 50% done with those 70+. Hopefully the counties/state are getting their act together and you will be able to get yours soon. I do hope that the vaccine rolls out better for you soon. It has been frustrating for everyone on some levels.

So sorry DD is having problems still. The second doctor didn't help much?

Poor DIL and DGS. Hate getting stomach stuff. It is miserable.

LG, hang on. I know the pain meds aren't working but it will be better soon. One more week. You can do it. Glad you got your second vaccine. Now after the waiting period you will be safer. We will still have to mask in public until there is the "herd immunity" numbers but it is certainly comforting to know you are safe from severe illness.

I don't know if I mentioned it anywhere but DS who recently remarried and his wife are expecting a baby in September. They were so excited that they didn't want to wait. They have genetic testing next week so there will also be a gender then. It is fun for both of them. DS is so excited which is a change from his previous children. He's a good dad and I think he realizes it so it will be less difficult. He worried a lot over the years about turning into his father.

I'm off to clean some more. I cremated some popcorn in the microwave yesterday. I'd popped three batches and wanted to use up the last of the popcorn so I did one more batch. It burned way before the other batches finished earlier. It was smoking and black and nasty. I've been running the air purifier since and it is better but I think the smell is on everything so I'll need to do more than just clean the air.

Have a great day.

I too am concerned about PJ & Frank. Hope they are ok.

Thomas & I just got back from getting our 2nd COVID vaccine. Here in Indiana it is pretty easy to sign up & get in. We had no trouble. Sharynn & Darrell also got their 2nd on Wednesday. Had no problems.

Tammy, I dont understand why Joe hasnt been able to get signed up. In fact here the pharmacies are going to start giving them next week. Hoping you can get in soon.

Im not doing much of anything today as Im in a lot of pain. Meds arent kicking in.

So many roads here in TX were ice covered and slippery yesterday so I am concerned with PJ and Frank traveling. There was the big 100 vehicle pile up near Fort Worth yesterday with at least 6 fatalities. I will be glad to hear from PJ that all is well with their travels!

Tammy - I spent quite a bit of time trying to schedule Norm and I for vaccines to no avail. I will keep trying. Sorry daughter is suffering from migraines. What do they do at UC for her? Sorry your GS was sick and passed it on to his mommy. It is scary times. We got word this morning that another friend we are close to back in our park at home, had a heart attack yesterday and is in the hospital not doing well. Vi, Karen and myself are called the Three Musketeers as we do most things together. So I pray Karen recovers. Her DH was hospitalized at the same time as Vi's husband Bob with Covid. He survived but Bob didn't.

I have been trying to get scheduled for our Covid vaccines but no luck so far. My friend, Sandy and her DH got scheduled for next Thursday so I'll keep trying!

HI, Seesters...

Dang, it's cold here! I'm not a fan. My gift sweatshirt and house shoes feel good though. I remembered the WW cheesy vegetable soup that uses Rotel and Velveeta with chicken broth and California blend veggies last night and it will be a second meal tomorrow.

No vaccines yet - Joe is on three lists and I'm on two so far. If it weren't for the forecasted storm, I would be checking out what is happening also e of our WalMarts now, but we ha e snow very probable late in the weekend and neither of us can chance getting hurt on slick stuff.

I think Joe's oldest daughter was checking up on him today after the youngest taliked to him last night. I think the vaccine was the main reason. Hmmmmmm.....

DD was back at UC this morning with a migraine that wasn't settling, GS was barfing ill the past couple of days and now his mommy has it. If it's not one thing, it's another.

I do hope PJ and Frank are traveling safely.

The Artic Vortex has arrived in Rockport overnight! It was 39 when I got up and it's 42 now. Add the wind and it's brutal after having our 80 degree days. The next week will be colder than normal and they are even saying it may snow on Monday! I remember three years ago when we woke up to snow. It didn't stick long but it happens down here.

I won at Bingo last night and so did Norm so we both won $10 pots. Not a lot of money but pays for the next couple of weeks.

I doubt if I get out of the MH much in the next few days. It will prove interesting!

PJ, Im with you...I never sleep good the night before we leave for vacation. I think about the movie Home Alone! But do hope you are traveling safe.

Sharon, Id give anything for your weather as we have 15 this morning and got 2-3 more snow yesterday and its snowing again now. Going into work but might not stay long.

WG, I dont have an Instant Pot or air fryer. Rachel had the air fryer but it took up too much counter space in her small kitchen.

Hello to everyone.

Last night was movie night and tonight is Bingo. I spent some time paying bills and we went out to lunch with our friends. It's almost time for our Happy Hour. It's overcast but 66 so we better enjoy it as a bad cold front is headed our way!

PJ - I do hope you and Frank both sleep good tonight! Do you have a special place you stop on your way up to your next park? It would really be nice for Chris & TT to come visit. Would they stay in your RV?

WG - I haven't used the INstant Pot yet. I think I like the Air Fryer better and have been using that almost every day. We'll see. I really took it for use at home but I hope to use it here as long as I have it.

Only slept about 2 hours last night and if I know me I won't sleep much tonight either. That is what I do when we are leaving anywhere. Will leave in the morning probably around 8-9 and spend one night on the road arriving at Sam Rayburn Powell Park mid afternoon on Friday. We will need to get into our winter clothes as it is supposed to be freezing temps. And that is why we bring all weather type clothes.

Frank and I are cleaning up and packing today. It will be leftovers tonight served on paper plates. Got all the washing I could get done the last 2 days Talked to Chris and TT yesterday and they are going to try and come to Texas the last 2 weeks of March. We are also going to check on getting the Covid vaccine when we get to our next stop. If it is available and we can get both doses before heading home.

Hi Seesters. It is nice and quiet. The grands will start coming in about an hour. I do enjoy them. I got some treats when I shopped on Thursday so they will have some things to enjoy. They do have hollow legs and love the sugary treats best.

LG, I'm glad you are staying home. I agree with dumping the subscription cable stuff. I enjoy Internet ones. The kids have been sharing their accounts with me and I with them so we can watch some we might not want to pay for. I don't watch enough to make a difference in their usage so it is nice of them.

SS, Tammy is our resident Instant Pot expert. She uses hers the most. I do enjoy using mine and agree that a FB group or Pinterest is a great place to find recipes. AllRecipies also has some good choices. Soups are great as are some meat dishes. Pasta isn't as great but it can be done.

PJ, enjoy knitting and getting ready to move to the next place. I like your recipe notebook idea. You've mentioned it before. It's very efficient. Do you download more books when you get there?

Have a great day. I'm off to get some lunch and do some more cleaning. I am going to quilt as well. I'm working on the border and will be done either this afternoon or tomorrow. Then it is one more or so and I'll be done with my waiting projects.

Have a great day.

It's not noon yet and already it's 75 degrees! It is also 75% humidity so it feels warmer. Not complaining as this is the weather we come for.

LG - Please be careful getting around with the ice and snow. Your surgery is quickly approaching and you don't want to fall and hurt yourself so the surgery is put on hold!

Our Super Bowl was nice and I was careful to not overeat. I stayed until after half time but to be honest, it didn't interest me any longer. As you say, the Chiefs kinda handed it to the Buccaneers.. It was almost like they went into the game expecting to lose. Oh well, it was nice for Tom Brady!

Just wanted to pop in for a minute..the kids are all coming tonight as we are in the process of dumping our direct tv. Our bill every month is almost $200! Too much. We are going to YouTubeTV. Rachel has already changed & Jason is also changing.

Sharon, our weather is awful. I went out Friday but havent been out since. Just not going to chance falling. And its so bitter cold!

We did watch the Super Bowl but felt that it was handed to Brady. Not a fan of his!

I need to take time to read the posts.

PJ - I can agree that I am glad we are here and not home. They woke up to -9 degrees! I much prefer our sun and 70 degree day.

Does anyone have an Instant Pot? My lady friend across the street walked over and gave me a 6 qt Instant Pot. She got it for Christmas and tried it twice and both times wasn’t happy with it. It’s just her so it’s big and bulky to store so she is passing it on. I am happy but now I have to figure it out!

We have our SuperBowl party this afternoon. I need to go and help set up at 3. The park is making hot dogs and chili. Everyone is bringing appetizers to go with it. I am making Blue Cheese Beer Dip and chips. I am hoping someone brings veggies so I can eat my dip without chips!

Started getting things cleaned up and ready to move on this coming Thursday. I'm in the processing of getting all the clothes washed and I did a thorough house cleaning including washing all floors as well as cleaning all woodwork. Of course in all this sandy area and the next spot will have pine tree pollen. SO we go from the sandy look to the greenish yellow pine pollen look..

We did make our last grocery run for this area and stocked up on the frozen tuna steaks we will from this area. Truck is full of diesel. We did venture out for a dinner out last night. I had fried clams and a salad Frank got a shrimp platter.

I finished my crochet critters and have started my first knitted sock (it has been a while since I have done those) and will see how my thumb and wrist handles it.

So glad we aren't home in the freezing temps that they are having back home. Brrr and snow too.

Good Afternoon.

Our fog has burned off and it’s partly sunny and 71 degrees.

My fiends phone overheated and she had to turn it off. When she turned it back on, it went to Factory reset and she lost everything. She was most upset because she lost all her photos as she didn’t back them up to her cloud. I showed her how to retrieve and she got her contacts back but of course no photos. Now she is backing up her photos so it won’t happen again.

I came home and organized my photos and downloaded them to my laptop so I won’t have that problem!

We have Cornhole this afternoon. I’m sure Norm will walk down but I have no interest so will probably stay home and take a nap as I didn’t sleep well last night.
