I'm a great cook! I'm not "intuitional" - I need to follow a recipe - and I would never consider going on a cooking show, but for what I do, it's great! I made biscotti once, and my mother thought it was store made (my own mom!!) lol Biscotti is actually a very easy cookie to make. It just sounds hard!

I fall between - I am okay and does making a sandwich count as cooking? I used to be a pretty good cook but in the past few years my son and I moved in together and HE does all the cooking. I miss doing it but he loves it and it is the path of least resistance to let him treat me as to his skills. Since he also does the clean up and dishes, it would be a little mean spirited of me to complain. LOL He at least tries to cook healthy and to honor my preferences.

I'm ok at cooking, but it depends on what I'm making. I don't like to spend a lot of time cooking nor do I like to make things with tons of ingredients.

My goal is long term with short term check ins- I really planned to use the SMART goal I made to guide it. Although I am adding to be able to complete an under 6 min mile on my bike. Still working toward it- but we will see!

No....we're only 21 days into the new year! An old goal was to reach 260 by January 31, and I think I'm actually going to do that!! I am confident that I have a good plan and I just need to follow it and be aware of circumstances, situations, events, and people who may cause a temporary 'hiccup' and then get right back on track!

I haven't really revamped. I'm working slowly towards cleaning up my eating and exercising more consistently. The only revamping is that it isn't happening as quickly as I'd like it to.

Hmmmm. No, not really. As always, it is slow going, but I AM seeing progress and MIGHT even achieve the goals I set. Since I normally don't set WEIGHT goals but did this time, it is not a BIG deal if I don't get there, but will keep on TRYING to succeed with even those specific ones. I THINK I will succeed and am really focused.

Eating habits are definitely harder for me to change. I love working out and find it to be a great release after work. I also love food, especially carbs and sweets! It's hard to shed that unhealthy habit of snacking.

Activity levels/fitness challenges are harder for me. I have to schedule fitness just like everything else. I am determined to find specific activities that I LIKE to do, and then it won't seem like a chore! I've already taken 1 hooping class, and I am planning on signing up for either Zumba or Qi Gong for the Spring.

I find that I am rarely overwhelmed any longer by the challenges, but they all DO present occasional challenges for me. I have spent years gathering the strength, courage, and confidence to accept that CHOICES must be made all the time and to make CHOICES that are healthier. Stress is less of a trigger now, but I DO OFTEN find myself collapsing at the end of a stressful situation (day, week, month, etc.) and wanting to MEDICATE since I was "so good and didn't CAVE in while in the midst of the situation. I literally JUST now realized what I have been doing and NOW I have to figure out a PLAN that will nip that one without sending me back to the STRESS eating.

I didn't follow any of the trends. I mostly focus on water (swimming, water aerobics, and water walking) and walking. I belong to a fitness center and have belonged to one sort or another for about 40 years. I have belonged the the Y, college affiliated fitness centers, gyms, and centers connected to hospitals/health organizations. Many women especially are reluctant to join - ESPECIALLY when REALLY OBESE - for fear of feeling like others are judging them. Let me lay that to rest. Whether I was 30, 40, 50 or 63, whether I weighed 130, 230, 330, 350 or MORE, and whether I was single or in a committed relationship, I found that the people I met in ALL of those places respected, appreciated, and applauded MY workouts (in pool or in the gym) with equal enthusiasm (maybe MORE the more I weighed and the older I got - because somehow it was LESS expected). I have met 90 year old men and women and those who are still in public schools, who weigh from 100 (soaking wet) to about 600 pounds, who come in pushing their walkers, riding in wheelchairs, dancing in, etc. I have made friends and exercised with people in all those categories - my 89 year old stepmother and I do water aerobic together and alone at the fitness center where I go, we also swim together and sometimes SHE kicks my butt. If I want to be LEFT ALONE, people will not bother me. If I want to be social, people will chat, encourage, and challenge me. I do NOT think I am anyone particularly unique BUT the idea that fitness is only for young, skinny, hard-bodies is WAY WRONG regardless of what setting I have been in - THEY are there but they TOO are human and as worried about how I judge them as I am about how they might judge me.
