I can't belive the last post here was back in January. Is anyone even doing C1 now?

I'm starting C1 tomorrow since I just decided to try it again this morning and I needed to do some meal planning. Fortunately I have a lot of chicken in the freezer. I also have lemon juice I put in ice cube trays and have to get in the habit of drinking lemon water first thing.

I also need to read highlights of the book again today. I've been putting coconut milk from the can in my morning coffee. I'm not up on any changes made to the 17DD since it first came out so is coconut milk even allowed?

Today is Day 15, only 3 more days to go. I have been able to follow the plan quite well but do look forward to more food selections. I ate a lot of eggs and chicken and salads these past two weeks. I am really hoping to lose weight and reach my goal. With all of the dietary changes I have been making it should happen! I might just need to convince my body that this change is permanent and to move on from plateaus.

It is Day 10 today. One week left of this cycle and I am expecting some good results on the scale. In some respects I wish I had weighed in before I started this journey. I didn't want to see how high I might weigh. But on the other hand it will be very difficult to know if my hard work is paying off.

The choice is clear, keep going. At the end of Cycle 1, I am pretty sure I will need to move to Cycle 2, not much chance of moving to Cycle 4. My pants feel a tad looser, but not much. Sigh.

Day 8! It always feels so good to have one week behind you and see the finish line for Cycle 1. It's the hardest one and my least favourite, but I am sticking it. I will have to stick to it since I told our boarders what I am doing and I have the days marked on my calendar. If I give up or cheat, it won't be in private. So the motivation is high. Getting as creative as possible to make chicken and/or fish taste good. Tonight is lettuce chicken wrap night.

It's day 6! Feeling so good to see that I can celebrate six days on this diet plan. It's going to be awesome to get to the halfway point and see the end getting closer. I still don't feel lighter. My pants don't seem looser. I will need to forage on!

I have made it to day 4 and doing really well with sticking to the plan. Still getting used to drinking so much water. I don't feel lighter, I hope that comes and that my pants fit looser. That will be tell tale sign. Otherwise, I am going to try and not weigh in until day 17. I think if I see progress on the scale, I might ease up on how strict I am being.

Day 1 went better than expected. I enjoyed all of the meals and was super thankful that the yogurt permitted filled me when I got hungry. No cheats. Feeling like I can do this.

Today is day 17 of this cycle. I didn't complete it with perfection, but it helped me choose to eat better and gave me something to strive towards as far as a menu plan. I had some weight loss due to illness but I haven't gained it all back. We will see what happens as I go through cycle 2

Day 5 begins. I need to focus on water intake. I feel like I am retaining water from the tacos. I can imagine that they were high in salt and I didn't drink enough yesterday.

I had a bran muffin yesterday with my egg. Knowing I had to go in to work for the night I was worried that an egg wouldn't be enough to sustain me. I was hungry when I got home and ate blueberries. Fruit after 2 isn't recommended, but it's better than eating potato chips or a slice of bread so I will call it a win.

Day 3- have my lemon water and will have an egg for breakfast. I have two days behind me and I am very grateful to have the success of two compliant days. I do have lunch served to me today and I am not sure what is on the menu. I am sure there will be some foods that are compliant and I will choose those. I am packing my water and some tea in case that is not available at the camp because of Covid.

Day 1 went very well. I didn't get hungry and I stuck to the diet plan apart from some cheese on my broccoli. Supper was chicken and broccoli. I am happy to have one day under my belt!

Day 2 is starting off with a cup of lemon water. I have written out my menu plan for the day and should be able to stick to it just like yesterday. It look like today will be very mild and I will make sure to get outdoors for all of my breaks. The sunrise is beautiful and inspiring.

Wow- it's been a long time since I have attempted Cycle 1 and documented it. Here we go:
Day 1. I have resolve and I hope I can stick to the plan. I know I won't be hungry, it's the cravings that I have to fight. I have my hot lemon water in hand, so that's the very first step.

It's been a long time since I have been on Cycle 1. Crazy how fast time can go by. Going to give Day 1 a try with a cinnamon bun add on. I have committed to make cinnamon buns on long weekends. Seems like I just made them. No long weekends in June, so the next batch won't be until July 1. I will savour it.

Today is Day 4. I have had 3 successful days in a row now. I am sticking to the plan. I kind of want to weigh in, but I am going to wait. I know that while we were away last weekend, I ate way too much and way too many bad foods. I don't think three days will be enough time to see the impact of those choices disappear. This time I am am doing pretty good. I don't know what has changed, but I like it.

I keep attempting this 17 Day Cycle 1. Maybe this try will be the one that sticks. I had the proper breakfast and have packed lunch accordingly. I have the will and desire to get 17 days of this cycle under my belt. Not weighing in until the cycle is complete. I hope to feel better and feel lighter.

This has been a really good streak of good eating for me. I was worried that I was going to have to eat lunch out, but I was able to eat the lunch I packed. Just cooking some chicken and will pair that with some broccoli salad.

Just in from a walk/run with my dog. He managed to slip in a swim. It's been rainy here so it was good to slip in some exercise between the showers.

Woohoo. Another successful day. I did have a taste of cake, literally one little bite. I was serving a bunch of people and that's all I had. It was to die for, and I still passed on having a full slice. I would be awesome if I am a bit closer to my goal in the morning.

Following Day 2. Its gone quite well. The Elegant Poached Salmon is a very good recipe, I paired it with asparagus. I am feeling very full. If that changes I am committed to having greek yogurt for a snack.

Tomorrow is Father's Day and my mom invited us over for pizza. Arrrgh! She is making a salad too. I goal is to have just the salad, but I know she will be offended if I don't eat any of the pizza. She also gets mad when I diet. Hopefully I can stick to my plan and not get noticed.

I am going to struggle with my commitment today. I am taking dinner out to my in-laws. MIL is having very bad back pain and they have a house guest. It's easier for her to be at home, so I will cook at my place and then we will take it over. The trouble is that I am making lasagne, That is not on my meal plan for this cycle. I may get away with filling up my plate with salad and take a very very small portion. Or I may be able to just put some of the filling aside without any noodles and have that even though it still won't be compliant. That's my best option. I am so close to my goal I don't want to blow it.

I didn't keep the letter of the law. I had a very small amount of rice with some stir fry veggies. When I got from work I so hungry I couldn't function. I had a third of a slice of pizza (DH and DS had it for supper last night). I tracked everything and I am within my calorie range so I feel good about that. I know I have been going way over of late. I am going to attempt to do day 2 tomorrow. I do have a dinner date out, so I need to find a place that will serve chicken and veggies.

I got some asparagus in yesterday's organic delivery. I could eat it like candy it is so good. I also had 2 oranges for a snack, but with cottage cheese,, not yogurt. I find cottage cheese very satisfying.

I have made it to Day 4. I couldn't resist weighing in to see if the chips impacted my weight yet. I had a good weigh in, but still over my yellow line by just a bit. I think if i stick to this, I can be below it in a couple of days.

Woo hoo for your choices. Your blip with the oreo and chips won't make any difference at all. They can fit into Dr. Mike's 3 bite rule.

I think of green tea as an almost magic drink. I find it so nurturing and comforting.

I did pretty good. I ate half an oreo and 6 chips. I regretted it! But I am still under calories. Said no a specialty drink. So that was good, I chose to sip green tea instead.

Day 3- I did weigh in and was down one pound since my last weigh in. Still above the yellow line by a pound so I really need to stick to the plan today. Breakfast was a success. I have an orange ready for 10:30, chicken soup for noon and yogurt for 2:30.

Next weigh in will be in a week. Must resist the urge to weigh before then.

Almost done eating for the day. I made the super salad for lunch. I made halibut (it was on sale) instead of having salmon with carrots and green beans. I do have a craving for chips and dip- but I don't have any in the house, so that's good. I am not hungry. I can have some yogurt if I need to eat in a couple of hours. I am calling Day 2 a success. Fifteen more to go. I just have to decide if I should weigh in or not tomorrow. I was going to wait until this cycle was done. I think if I see my weight drop, I will feel like I can cheat a bit.

Day 1 went very well. Supper was not on target, but close. I made beef stew instead of chicken stew. I would say it was still very healthy and I passed on the potatoes. I have so much stew meat that I need to use up that I decided to make that change.

Day 2 is starting off with a cup of hot water and lemon. I have this habit pretty much in place. It looks like yogurt is on the menu for breakfast.

Breakfast is complete. I had green tea, 2 oz of blackberries and 2 scrambled egg whites. I used a very little amount of butter to grease the frying pan, and added about 1 tsp of ketchup to my eggs.

After many failed attempts at sticking to the menu plan in Cycle 1, I am not defeated from trying again. I have my hot water with lemon by my side. That's a success. When I feel hunger, I will make scrambled egg whites and pair that with some blackberries that I have on hand (I don't have grapefruit).

I will refill my hot water cup with green tea in a few minutes.

I failed at sticking to Cycle 1 so I am hoping today will be a success. I really need to get down a couple of pounds by the end of the month to hit my goal.

It's good to see that I haven't had to visit Cycle 1 since mid-January. I need a bit of a boost so I am back to Cycle 1 until I am done half a pound. Hoping I can get that done in three days.

I had a compliant day. I made it through lunch sticking to salad. I didn't snack at work. That's a win. Going to try and do it today too.

Recording here that I am striving to stick to full compliance for Day 1 today. Feeling good and hoping to make it to lunch and through lunch. If I can do that and make it home I should have a successful day. I really want to budge 1.5 pounds before the end of the month. Of course more would be fine.

One of the things I learned from this diet is that even when we stray, if we make good choices, we are better off than before. I agree about how central food is to relationships. Just making a few changes, like you are doing, can still make a difference. Traditions are also important. Your once-a-year cabbage roll tradition sounds wonderful.....so does the wine emoticon emoticon By the way, I LOVE cabbage rolls. We call them halupki. The nicest compliment my dad ever gave me was when I made halupki for the first time after my mom died, and my dad told me they were as good as my mom's.

Day 2 was not as successful as Day 1. I am being mindful of what I am choosing to eat. I just need to work towards better and better choices.

Day 3- I have lunch out with the ladies from work. Arrrgh. Too many eating out days in row. Not sure where we are going, but I am promising myself to not have fries. My neighbor is coming over to make cabbage rolls. We do this once a year. I will have a couple of the rolls for dinner and a glass of wine. Its tradition. So I already know it won't be a good day.

Food is a big part of relationships. Sticking to the diet is going to be super tough with all of the events coming up.

Day 1 went okay. I had a gingerbread cookie at our youth Christmas party. I had dinner out before the party and I chose chicken, vegetables and quinoa. It was pretty salty, but I tried to make the best pick of the menu. There was avocado too.

Day 2 and I have another dinner out. This time for MIL's birthday. A steakhouse.

Had to do a reboot so I am on Day 2.
I ate three non-compliant foods: Green tea latte, almond milk in my smoothie because I was out of yogurt and a few fries/ketchup with the salmon and veggies we cooked for dinner. I still stayed in my calorie range.

Going to try recording the foods I shouldn't eat so I can be more accountable.

Day 4- was down just shy of a pound. I will take it! Gives me the motivation to keep it going. Going to strive for another pound this week. I have lost 4 pounds since I made weight loss jars. Feels good to transfer items from one jar to the other.

Yesterday I did pretty well. In the evening I had a snack not on plan. I forgot my plan was to have celery sticks with a bit of peanut butter.
Fridays I go out for lunch so I need to aim for fish or chicken. Not sure where I will be going yet.

Thanks! I fear it is too good to be true - weighed myself this morning and up 2 lbs, but it was after lemon water and coffee. Still down from the initial start of Cycle 1.

Sunday is day 17 and it is starting to feel looong! I am busy with work full and part time job so seem to default to chicken and salad a lot. Boring!

Anyhow, the end is in sight, gotta keep my eye on the prize! Have a great day all.

Sunny - congrats on dropping those pounds. I doubt your slip with the Brazil nuts will hurt much if at all. Funny you mentioned Brazil nuts. Recently I overheard a conversation about how Brazil nuts have been hard to find lately.

Anyone else on cycle 1 now? I am on day 11, and gotta admit yesterday was the hardest day yet. I planned for some new recipes and made the vegetable chicken soup for lunches this week, but caved to a handful of Brazil nuts - first cheat of the cycle. emoticon last one too I hope!

Next Sunday is day 17. emoticon

On the bright side - the Friday weigh in confirmed what my clothes were telling me - down 4 lbs! Whooop whoop

Shari - I'd be willing to bet you are ready for C2 as well. As you might remember C2 is a combination of C1 and C2 days, so to speak, every other day. C2 is my favorite cycle by far.

Today was a pretty good day for me, mostly because I was to busy to think about eating. I stayed on plan but now, ate at night (11:30 pm) I am feeling munchie again. I had no time today to come on SP till now. So I am going to just finish "sparking" and go to bed before I reach for anything non-compliant.

Paula- I am so glad you were able to enjoy the wedding and you stuck to wise food choices. So good! I haven't had any weddings this summer, maybe next year. My youngest son has a girlfriend, but I get in trouble if I ask about plans of getting engaged. Oh well. It will happen when it happens.

Today is Day 17. It should go well and according to plan. I will need to go for groceries tonight as I need to restock on fruit and veggies. I will also read what's up for Day 1 Cycle 2 to make sure I am ready for it.

Shari - Sorry you were disappointed at your weigh in. I totally understand scale avoidance (like after vacation). I am the avoidance queen when it comes to weigh ins. But I agree with you eventually we get the info we need which certainly helps us in moving forward.

I did pretty well today, all things considered. The wedding was absolutely beautiful. I don't know if I've ever seen 2 people more in love than these two young folks. I filled up on grilled veggies as well as chicken and beef. I skipped the wedding cake and had only coffee instead. The food was good, and the joy of the wedding was beyond words.

Well...that was depressing! I stepped on the scale and it confirmed what my pants were saying lol. I didn't weigh in after vacation because I knew I gained weight and I didn't want to know how much. I hope that I did lose weight over these last two weeks and at least now I know the reality of the battle ahead- 15 pounds. Day 16 today.

I feel like I have been doing very well- apart from the celebration meals that happened. I have the motivation and some very good habits formed so I will put my head down and keep going from this cycle to the next. I will weigh in again next Sunday with a goal of losing one pound.

Paula- glad your day went so well- even with an ice cream treat. One treat can go a long way to satisfy our sweet tooth as long as we don't give in to treats for the whole day.

Shari - Good luck with your weigh in! Remember....progress, not perfection!

Well, staying on track at lunch was super easy! All 4 of us ordered the same thing....grilled chicken breast and veggies, coffee and no dessert. Easy for sure. BUT.....on the way home DS and I stopped at a restaurant special to me from my childhood days....the restaurant is known for its homemade ice cream..Yep, DS and I each had a dish of very delicious ice cream....better than any ice cream that is bought in a supermarket. I logged everything and am still in my calorie and nutritional ranges. DS enjoyed this so much. The restaurant had been closed for a few years and reopened only recently. Both of us have been eager to get there, and well, since we had to drive right past it, why not stop. I am ok with this as I don't think I derailed myself too much. Tomorrow is the wedding for DS's friend. That will hold more challenges for sure.

DS and I had a blast with our cousins. I see them declining (they are 81 and 82), but overall they are still doing well, living on their own and very active in their church. DS just adores them too. It was a lovely lunch, and amazingly the weather cooperated for the most part, just a little rain on the way home.

Paula, I hope you enjoy your trip, lunch and visit. It can be so hard to stay strong when eating out. I try to avoid it as much as possible because I know how hard it is. I am with you about the added salt. I don't cook with it at home either. I am often heard saying that foods have enough salt in them already.

I did not have a great food day yesterday but I am determined to stick to the plan for these last three Cycle 1 days. I am curious to see how much I weigh tomorrow but I think I may disappointed. My pants seem to be tighter than what they should be. It will be a good reality check and I will move on to Cycle 2 knowing weight loss will be slower but still possible.

Shari - Hope you are getting in your water today. I know I say this a lot but the sodium in restaurant food is a huge pet peeve of mine. I stopped cooking with salt at home many years ago when my dad lived here and was on hemodialysis 3 times per week because of end stage kidney failure. I do not miss salt at all. There seems to be plenty of salt in most foods to begin with

I did fine today and am not having any cravings or munchies, so to speak. Tomorrow DS and I are driving about 90 minutes to meet some relatives for lunch. They have chosen the restaurant, which has its menu online. I checked it out and think the best I can do is some sort of lunch salad, assuming my "resistance muscles" stay strong.
