I workout at the Y 6 days a week. I alternate strength train for up and lower body everyday , as well as 20 min on a step machine. On Monday and Friday I do deep water aerobics. emoticon

I've started my first Spark Challenge. It's a 5K walk/run challenge. I really want to start running but I want to be careful and not overdo it or hurt myself. I haven't run in many, many years. This challenge seems like it has good tools for starting slowly, walking 4 minutes and running 1 minute, and cross training on alternate days. Wish me luck!

last week was not a great exercise week for me!

I did x-bike Monday,Tuesday and Thursday - I got a new tattoo so I had to take some time off since I was swollen and welted.

I also took a week off from PC Fit to give my body some recovery time. I try to take a week off to "de-load" every 3-4 months.

I was back at it again today strong and did 10 am PC Fit

very small world, I lived back then on the north side of town Tidwell and 59 area went to MB Smily high school I couldnt handle the traffic there is why I left. We live in the country where I met my hubby. emoticon

Funny how small our big state is. I was raised in Houston too. Moved to Austin for college, did a few years in the valley, now Aransas Pass is home. I suspect this is where I am going to stay. At least by the coast we get some breeze. Today was beautiful. I got a good workout volunteering at my Bountiful Basket pick up today, and then came home and went for a swim as well. It was a good day.

Way to go BigMama -- and glad you are posting on here. It motivates me to see more people using these boards. I biked 30 minutes yesterday. I intended to swim last night but got derailed by an unplanned trip to Walmart to get stuff the kids had to have for school! Does walking the whole store count as exercise?

Good job Courtney. You are so motivating. Being able to be an exercise instructor of any kind is beyond a dream for me. However, I am taking my victories where I find them. Did lots of walking at the drill meet, and rode my exercise bike this evening for 45 minutes. Then I lifted weights for a while as well. I can't believe I am saying this, but I miss not exercising -- it is getting to be something I actually look forward to! Wow, never thought I would feel that way about working out.

So excited for you Courtney! Today is the big day.

I want to share my non-scale victory. I went to the doctor -- did the follow up. Weight was not down much -- BUT -- % of body fat was down 3%. WOW, exercise is paying off. My doctor was really happy. He said just follow directions and don't think so much.

Moral of the story -- do what we were taught at the beginning and it will happen in time. I am really proud of the healthier, stronger me!

I have a busy weekend - daughter was part of the homecoming court last night, and she and son have an ROTC drill meet today. So finding time to exercise will be a challenge. But I am determined to do it. I will walk around during the drill meet so get some extra steps in -- gotta find the positive in having to spend the day in the hot south Texas sun.

Good morning all. I am working out like crazy (at least for me!). An hour of swimming or biking every day. But the pounds are just not coming off. I am tracking everything I eat, and while my eating is not perfect it is pretty darn good.

I have lost 8 1/2 pounds this month. While this is a real victory, my problem is that I have a follow up appointment with my surgeon tomorrow. He says I am not losing weight fast enough. I am frustrated by the scale.

To keep myself motivated I am finding those "non-pound" victories. I have lost an inch in my waist; I am not absolutely exhausted after an hour work out; I feel better mentally; my clothes are looser (I honestly need to buy some smaller ones). . . . so I know I am doing good. Heck, I am not even craving the sweets that I have given up. . . .

I still have a lot of weight to lose, and am not justifying by any means. But I have not been at this weight in more than 20 years, and it feels really good. I just don't want the appointment to set me back -- it is so stressful I just want to avoid it all together. I skipped follow ups for about 6 months, and just got back on track, so I know I need to go.

I know my surgeon is just being concerned and doing his job. And I like him a lot, unlike my co-workers, who's doctors don't even require follow ups at all!

Sorry, I just needed to vent about this and see my progress in writing. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, how do you deal with it.

Thursday 9/3 - 0600 x-bike and my boyfriend and I went hiking and swimming

Friday 9/4 - 0800 x-bike - 10 am pc fit and my x-bike instructor invited me to be her "guinea pig" for her Saturday Power Yoga class. It was REALLY tough and I broke a sweat - it was great! I think I need to find a way to add it to my regular class schedule

100+ degree weather is WAY too hot for me to walk outside emoticon
