I feel the same way, Sarah & Jessie!!! I completed W3D2 today and I am so proud of myself. I never thought I could run 3 minutes straight...and then do it again! I found an app for my Android phone (C25K Lite) and I love it. It makes it so much easier to follow the program; all you have to do is listen for the bell and you're off! Congratulations to everyone for a job well done. Keep on running :)

I ran my first 5k back in March and came in at 31:29!!! Since then, I've run another 5k (29:13), a 3.5 mile race (about 33 minutes I think?), and a 5 miler (51:30 or so)! Registered for another 5-miler in August.

I highly recommend trying the Podrunner intervals once you finish with C25K!

I have just got home from finishing my very first 5K! It was really fun and I want to go out and run another one! But I'll hold my horses until I train a bit more. I "finished" C25K, but I missed weeks 7 and 8 (crucial, I know). This past week saw me in a panic, so on Wednesday I decided to run the three miles (the farthest I'd run was 2.5 the week before) and see how I did. After 41 minutes, I finished, but it hurt, and right then I knew I wasn't going to be able to run the whole thing on Saturday. I didn't beat myself up about it though - I saw it as a valuable lesson in the importance of consistent training, one that I'm pretty sure will stick.

So I decided to run 5 minutes, walk 2 minutes until the halfway point, then see how I felt. If I was feeling good, I'd cut it to 1 minute of walking or just run the rest of the way, but if I was struggling then I'd keep to the 5/2. It worked really well, and I had just gotten past the 2 mile mark when my old nemesis reared its ugly head - my blister on my left foot.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to do this, but I think it's time for new running shoes. I would say I've run at least 150 miles or so in them, so they still have some life left, but they've always given me really bad blisters, even when I changed socks. C'est la vie :-(

So I slowed down a bit in the second half, but I went to walking to just one minute. I finished at 39:04 (or 38:43 on my watch, which is the one I will be counting until I see the official result!)

I was absolutely amazed how fast it all went. These last few weeks, these runs have felt like hours, but on race day it was over in the blink of an eye. Needless to say, I'm hooked, and I am starting again on Monday to train (properly this time!) for my next 5K. I can't wait!

I am currently doing the C25K program and did level 3.2 last night and I felt great! Never in the million years I thought I would be able to run for 3 minutes straight let alone twice! Even after I finished, I ran another 2 minutes. Pretty darn proud of myself :)

I started W2D1 today...and I feel great! I am looking forward to the day when I can run at least part of (if not all of) a 5K. My goal is to run in a 5K on October 1st, which gives me plenty of time to finish the C25K program. I took 2 weeks to complete week 1 (to give my body a chance to get used to the program), so "technically" I've been incorporating some running into my routine for 2+ weeks. With that being said, I can not believe the changes already! I feel stronger and healthier; I'm seeing definition in my legs as well as my abs. Who knew running would be so beneficial??? LOL!

That's awesome...congrats! I'm impressed that you can run without stopping. I still have to walk some. I managed to finish using the walk 2 minutes, run 1 minute method. I hope to run a 5K one day with no walking!!!

A month ago I finished couch to 5k and was able to run the 3.l miles without stopping and was so proud of myself. I did a 5k this past Saturday and got my best time yet, 38 mins, 23 secs! I am proud of myself and can't believe how far I've come just since March.

Oh no, no! Go for it! It doesn't matter how long it takes to finish...just finish it! I'm so happy that I ran that 5K. In fact, I'm signing up for another one on July 30th. It was really difficult, but I know I'm a stronger person for it :)

Finished my first 5K in 2 years on Sunday! We id it in around 43 minutes. I gave up my goal time of 35min to stay with my friend and running partner whose goal was 45 minutes. It was her first 5K and she was struggling. We made the mistake of doing all of our training on the treadmill. The course we were on was beautiful, but very hilly. Combined with the no outdoor running made it difficult. But with encouragement, she made it and we made her goal. We're registering for our next one in 2 weeks. This time the course is very flat :)

Finished my 1st 5K on Sat. I had a goal of under 45 min and finished in 44:34. I was very pleased with that as I just finished W7 Mon morning. On to Week 8 on Wed and then I hope to run another 5K in July and would really like to break 40 min!

OK - I am baaaaaack! I few years ago I started (and almost finished) C25K and it was the best I had felt in years. Yesterday I started up again after a fairly long hiatus (due to a recurrent knee injury). I started at W3D1 and it went pretty well...I am going to try to stick to the program from here on out and my goal is to finish this time. I'd really like to run a "real" 5K but have not yet figured out "outside" running. Any advice on how, when, where to work that in to my program would be MUCH appreciated! Looking forward to running with you all...and to welcoming endorphins back into my life!

Ran/jogged/walked only a little my 5K on June 5th. It is my 3rd one in about 3 yrs. I was with my whole family this time (that's a first) and it was a 5K put on by Weight Watchers, so my meeting leader was there. It was nice knowing some people and seeing some friendly faces.

It was harder than I anticipated but it was such a thrill to cross that finish line. I'm still slow. I still don't love to run. But what I do like is that my son ran it also and he finished well before me and felt inspired to do it again. One of the biggest reasons I started this journey was to be a better role model and also live longer and healthier for my kids (and me of course!!) So seeing his pride when they handed him his 5K finishers charm/medal really made me beam!!!

I ran a 14 mile minute. I know. Very slow. I do Zumba 5xs a week, very high intensity. I just don't have speed when it comes to running. Visit my page if you have any suggestions or helpful hints on how to improve on that!! I could use the tips!! Something I do want to work on and it is good to challenge myself to improve. Good thing running is all about Personal Best. Me, the pavement and my itunes.

Good luck to all running soon and Congrats to everyone who is just finishing a race!!!

Congrats to all...you are truly an inspiration, especially to a beginner like me! I just started the "Couch to 5K" program today. I must say that I am really proud of myself, even though I didn't run the whole 60 seconds each time (I averaged about 45 seconds each). BUT! I tried my best and I got through the 20 minutes without calling it quits! Or crying. Or whining. It was really muggy and humid, too, which didn't help. For a former band geek/non-athlete I'm ok with today!

I ran my first 5K yesterday morning, in a local amusement park! It was the toughest it's ever been (don't know why), and I struggled to finish, but my husband encouraged me and I got a time of 27:46, my best ever!

Completed! Sort of. I only found this group with less than 2 weeks from my scheduled 5k. I ended up walking a little (maybe 1/4mile if not less) because of my IBS issues. I completed the race with a full out sprint though! Finished with a 34min time. I am going to try another one, probably in a month, to work on improving my time but also building up my endurance. After I complete this, I would like to work towards a 10k. My ultimate goal is to complete a half marathon in the next year and a half.

I completed Couch to 5k!!!! On week 9 day 1 I did the 30 mins straight, on day 2 I went longer, to 36 mins just because I felt awesome, and for day 3 I did the whole 3.1 miles and it took me 39 mins, 50 secs! I just can't believe I did this. I never thought the day would come again where I could run even one mile, let alone 3. I am so proud of myself.

Last night was gorgeous! When I left for a run, I was going to do my normal 2.9 mile loop but, of course, Hubby had to say "challenge yourself". I haven't done more than a 5k non-stop so I took him up on it. I made the loop bigger and ended up doing 3.75 miles...oh yeah, NoN-Stop! That included 3 hills with the last one being quite a nchallenge! But I DID IT!!!
Happy dance!

I ran my first 5K last week. It was hard and I walked a couple short times in the middle, but I finished and I didn't finish last! (I was really worried about being last, but I wouldn't mind that going forward - will just be glad to finish and improve over my last time.)

Am planning to do another in June. I NEVER thought I'd be able to do this. Yay me!!! :)

I did it!!!!! I did my first 5K on yesterday with the inaugural Ramble Run 5K in Asheville, NC. So glad I finished. It is nothing like walking/running 3.1 miles on a treadmill (which I used to train). Today I hurt, but I am so proud of the reason I am in pain. I finished it without assistance.

Ran my first official 5k today! Did it in 38 minutes!
Well, I swear it was longer, because when I do my unofficial route at home, it only takes me 35 minutes, and I ran more and harder this time.
Ah well, I'm still happy with my run :D Felt really good to finish it *nods*

I ran my first 5k on April 12th only 6 months after having lower lumbar fusion. I came in at 31:48 and I'm still on cloud 9!!!

My husband and I are in Week 8 and decided to start running a 5K distance and timing ourselves. We've done two on our unofficial neighborhood route since Saturday. Tuesday, we finished in under 28 minutes! Woohoo!

Hiya! I saw this team awhile ago and after many excuses finally started the program. And just now got around to joining to team, but I have been running!

In fact, I now run 5k for my training runs and I have my first official 5k on Sunday!
I never thought I could run before, but this program has gotten me there and beyond. And it feels Amazing. :D

I'm so glad I found it.

Good for you, Donna!

I haven't run in the rain yet, but I guess it is something I should do in the future. I'm trying to "just do it" and eliminate excuses so that I can be fit. Your words are motivating, too.
