Christine, I am so sorry that you are having that side effect from your new med. I hope your doctor can find a more suitable one.

I have given up on meds as the side effects are worse than the disease or disorder! I was sick a lot as a child, and as a result, my adult immune system is very strong. I'm from hardy stock. I feel grateful that I am strong, healthy, and fit--and am trying to add "slender" to those words. ;-D

That's okay if it is your personal thread for now... people keep blogs for the every same reason.

Anyway, I also exercise but I am having a terrible time with energy since starting the new medication that was supposed to give me energy. I am struggling with getting any steps. For instance I only have a little more than 4000 today and was about 3000 yesterday. So when I feel I have something to add here I sure will but not yet. emoticon

Not so many steps yesterday, but I did lift and push several heavy boxes and furniture, plus de-cluttering and organizing to make room for the moving company's repairman. Spent a good three hours getting ready for his visit. Forgot to drink my 2 Liters of water!

Hi, Denise!

I read your post in the "Introduce Yourself" forum, too. Thanks for responding.

Last night I bit the bullet. I joined Gold's Gym and paid for 10 personal training sessions - it'll be one a week for the next 10 weeks and I plan to work out at least 3 if not 4 times per week. They made me a good deal on the 1 year membership (for me I think I need the commitment of paying for a time based membership because if I'm paying for it most likely I'll use it) and monthly dues for both myself and my 16 year old daughter. So I'm going to put my focus into the gym for the next 12 months. It's going to be a priority and I'm going to plan meals on the weekends so that I can be successful during the week.

I've also changed up my eating habits, especially now that it's getting to be fruit season. I'm eating the protien and fiber in need during the day to keep me full and not be tempted to munch throughout the day.

Thanks for your offer to be a walking buddy but I think for now the gym is the best thing for me.

Hi again Cindy!!

I already posted in response to your other message about joining a gym/paying a trainer, so I wont re-state all that.

I'm more on the North end of town (between Cole and Orchard, off of Victory), but would love to find someone that would like to do walks. My work schedule is kind of strange because I work 4-10's. I'm off on Thursday, Friday, Sunday.

We did a "Biggest Loser" type competition at work last year, and I lost about 20lbs just by walking daily (I had stopped going to the gym at that point) and eating healthier.

Would you be interested, if your schedule works any way with mine, to maybe meet up a couple times a week and do some walking? We could make our own route up or use the Greenbelt.

I need some. I know it. But I don't like it! But somehow I need to change my mindset.

I have tools at home that I don't use (DVDs, Wii exercise games, 2 lb barbells, resistance bands). I always intend to go walk but don't and in my heart I know I need something more challenging than that to see the results I want.

I'd like to lose 50 lbs. While it would be tight financially for me to join a gym I'm considering it. Gold's Gym is close to where I live. I know that facility is nice but haven't visited it yet because I hear they pressure you into a trainer. While I would highly consider a trainer, I don't want to be pressured into it so I'm giving it alot of thought before I step in the door and make a commitment.

Gold's also offers classes which I think I would like. But I'm scared. For a couple of reasons: failure and I'm so self conscious.

In my heart I know I just need to buck up and do it but I think I need a bit of a push. Anyone care to push me? :) Or perhaps give me some other ideas?
