Hear you on the knee issues, got them myself and I also need to call the ortho man...I know better too than to put it off so maybe we should listen to each other and make that call. Who knows how long of a wait it'd be for an appointment?

By the way, I thought over the weekend I was over the hump, wrong this morning.

Great weather for sure, I haven't done anything at all though because I screwed up my knee, can barely walk. This isn't my first rodeo with knee issues, nope, been dealing with that since I was in elementary school and first major injury was when I was in 9th grade so I now need to decide if I should see an orthopedic doc or if I just kind of wait and see if it gets better. What a hassle!

Hear you about yesterday, geez. Today wasn't so bad. Did you treat yourself to a trim? It's great not having to answer to others isn't it, glad you are taking advantage of it.

It seems especially muggy and gross today, I guess we might get the weather later, thought it was supposed to rain all day. At least there is some wind today to provide some relief. Nothing happening over my way today, I am just putting off the grocery store! I oughta go get my hair trimmed too, plenty to do and I don't have to rush to do it, I am living the life!!! emoticon

It is the 28th, seemed like ages ago we decided on it so I understand. haha

Nothing interesting this weekend, at times it seemed awfully muggy then it wasn't. I think I was just looking for an excuse to stay inside. Hope you two had a great weekend, have a great week.

Okay, just confirming it is the 28th, next Monday (not this Monday) at 11. Awesome. It is muggy but I'm still okay with this weather! Looks like we will blessed with another couple of days of cooler temps and low humidity during the upcoming week, woo hoo! How lucky is that for mid-June in mid-TN? I am needing to get a grocery list together, honestly I can wait until Monday to go there, we have meals for tonight and tomorrow night but with the rain predicted on Monday, I am thinking I ought to go ahead and do it today or tomorrow. I want to go to the market in Gallatin too but that will have to wait until next week, I don't have any immediate need to go there, I just like it! Went today to Percy Warner with friends but just walked on the road, no trails this time. It was actually pretty pleasant early on up there in the trees!

Wait a couple of hours and GO to the pool!

Muggy as all get out early this morning, didn't feel so bad when we came out at 11. We hang around after we get out, chat, drink coffee and eat cookies. Don't judge old folks haha

11 is fine with me. If you come in on Briley, it is the next block from publix and the firehouse. Baskin's is no longer there it is a jiffy lube now.

Nothing interesting here, probably head over to the market later. Really don't need anything.

Everyone have a great weekend, stay hydrated.

11 works for me if it works for you Kelly! I am excited to try a new place out! It's on Donelson near the Baskin' Robbins, is that right? Sunshine Bakehouse. I feel like they are going to have 1,000 things that I want to try.

Got my run in at Percy, a lot of walking, a little running, four stumbles, but no falls. I enjoyed it. Lots of people were there.

Looks like hot hot hot today. I will be chilling around the house. Maybe will go in the pool. Maybe to the grocery store. Who knows, today I am not making plans!

Early works for me too, that way if they are busy we'll be ahead of the crowd, and after being in the pool I'll be hungry early too. 11 or 11:30, you pick since you have to drive further.

I'll take what we've had the past few days compared to what other parts are going through. We sort of got spoiled with the nice spring for sure.

I enjoyed Percy Warner, you are wise to be aware of the terrain, so just enjoy the scenery maybe walk at a fast pace? I haven't been over there since Mayor Dean's walk thing...

Here it is FriYaY eve, hope everyone has something fun planned for the weekend.

All right, the 28th it is, I am looking forward to that! We will have to decide on a time. I am usually an early lunch person but I am also flexible with no concerns or worries, so I can meet whenever!!!

The low humidity for a few days was a nice relief, looks like the dew point is inching back up though. It is practically summer solstice so it is not a shock! We've been very blessed with beautiful weather this spring.

I am going to Percy Warner this evening for a trail run, haven't run on trails in at least three years, it will be fun. I will be slow and walking a lot until I get my footing on the different terrain!

Well, I stopped by over the weekend, thought well I didn't hit post. So started over, hit post and it didn't go, so hit it again and nada then all of a sudden a new page with an error showed up! Ugh

So instead of a long rewrite I just wanted to say I did a happy dance that you stayed in Michigan and had such a fun reunion of sorts. I think these events mean so much more after the past year+.

I have the 28th on the calendar!!! Looking forward to it!

Try to stay cool in this heat, will stop by later. Welcome home!

Hello Hello Hello!!! Got back from Michigan yesterday, oh so glad I went, so glad I took your advice Kelly! Saw my aunts and uncles, cousins (and their kids), sister, BIL, niece and one nephew. And of course my parents. I was busy busy busy doing stuff, had dinner one night with one of my BFFs.

Kelly, I haven't flown in almost a year and a half, what is up at BNA? And I guess LaGuardia has always been a disaster. I saw some Rainier cherries at Kroger a couple of weeks ago and then I found a few for my mom in Michigan, they are the bomb.com~~~ What a treat!

Yeah, I am really hoping that SP will add teams to the new product, that is my favorite thing, and I don't use the rest of it much at all anymore. What is really crummy is that it won't be available anymore to people outside of the US. I have one SparkFriend who is on a team and we communicate from time to time and I get a lot of joy and pleasure hearing from her so that really stinks.

Kelly, what about the 28th (Monday) for lunch - not this coming Monday but the next one. We can text and figure that out.

I've been so busy today and still have a ton to do! Glad work is not an issue, I would never be able to get all of this done (let alone take off spontaneously for Michigan and stay for a week). I had to do laundry, groceries, I went to the produce place in Gallatin, stopped by the car dealership for something, fixed dinner, need to clean up around here, just STUFF!!! It's a good busy though and I don't have to panic about it since I don't have to WORK!!!!!

GOOD for you - stay a little longer your folks are not done spoiling you yet. haha
Really, I am homesick from being back from NY not even a full day but not enough to move back (that is always the case with me anyway). The mess at BNA takes the sails out of wanting to fly. LaGuardia is still as big if not bigger mess with their terminals, not even an improvement over the past two years.

All we can do with sparks is let them know how we feel about this, it stinks but I am not surprised they are doing it. I remember they said eventually it'll happen if we continued to block their revenue attempts. They weren't happy with one or two ads per page, it went to covering it seemed like every bit of white space including on some teams covering their logo. (They covered our Blue Star Moms Team logo) Too much for too little because I didn't see much difference whenever they "improved" something. When was that? A long time ago I guess.

If it happens we can still be in touch through emails and lunches.

Meanwhile, enjoy Michigan. I was thinking the other day have their version of Rainier cherries hit the market yet? I've only seen sweet ones out of CA, nothing like the original.

I just heard that SparkPeople is going away. I am terribly sad about this. Kelly, I am in Michigan, thank you for your advice to come. I did and I was going to come home on Monday but now I will stay until Wednesday or Thursday. It is great to not have a job so I can do things like this! I am still in shock about SP. I've been checking in for years, I will miss this!!!

Luvin' your profile picture!!! Jobless looks good on you.

Yesterday was a perfect day for a race, saw on fb that you improved your time so high five!

I'd love to be out kayaking but my knee doesn't like to be bent like that for long and I am always afraid of not getting my lard arse back into it if I flipped it. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it, do I see a new toy in to the future?

Even though it is overcast it is nice out this morning.

Sent you a sparkmail.

Okay, I need to find a time to come down and meet you Kelly! I don't have your number so once I figure something out I will send you something via Facebook Messenger.

Got in the pool a little, I guess that was last weekend? The past few days it was so windy and so much debris flew in, should have had it ready for today since it is so nice but didn't. Yesterday went out on the lake on my friends' houseboat and we kayaked, my first time kayaking. That was fun, and 10k race this morning. I am feeling tired but in a good way. Went and got more strawberries this morning, this might be the last of the local ones, so yummy!!!!

Pick a date and time, since I'm only a few miles from there I can pretty much do anytime! Nice car, heard good things about them.

Geez, even I'd have that AC cranked if it were 80 in here!!! Interesting how Lizzie reacted. In here it has gone up 2 degrees since noon (77)I've turned every ceiling fan going so that helps but I came close when I got home earlier. It feels like a sauna out there and not sure I want to go to the market today. Other than that nothing new or even interesting on the horizon for the weekend. Have a good one, have you dipped into your pool yet?

Yep, no rain and no rain in sight, yikes, we do need some. And I think we are going to get the humidity with the heat that is on the way. Right now it is warm but pleasantly so, but those dew points are going to rise. I finally turned the AC on, hubby never once complained but it was in the 80s in here so I know he was too warm. Turned on the ceiling fans in the bedroom and Lizzie who is FEARLESS saw that and ran and hid under the bed! But just for a minute.

Yeppers, got a new Subaru Forester. So far I am loving it. Kelly we just need to plan a lunch date and meet over at the Sunflower place on Donelson!

Looks like somewhere else got rain so far but it is still cloudy out this way so hopefully we will get some later. Yup, the heat is coming I heard early as next week UGH. Gotten so spoiled with the nice days we've had. I've got to get our sprinkler guy out to wake up our system, meanwhile the new rose bushes will get drinks manually, I just do not feel like hauling the hose to the front yard. We have a year round place that has nice produce in Hermitage.

Did you get new wheels?

I'll try to remember to let you know the next event at Buchanan. A few years ago they did a blacktop 50s sox hop that was so much fun, maybe they will do it again soon.

Nothing much new here, so enjoy your day!

I had forgotten about the Buchanan Log House. I will have to be watching out for that event next year.

Maybe a tiny bit of rain this morning? If it doesn't evaporate before it gets here! We could use it. And it doesn't look like much rain coming up in the forecast either. Hot is coming though. I am sure the ACs will be on soon if they aren't already!

It's hard to believe it's already mid-May, senior graduations are already happening, school will be out in a just a week and a half or so.

I think our Farmer's Market starts this weekend. Usually they are pretty light on produce early in the season and then it gets better and better later in the summer. I went to Hendersonville Produce last week, I love that place and they just get better all of the time.

How lucky to have another nice day, even though the temp is higher at least there is a breeze. The Buchanan Log House had a funraiser today and it was very well attended, thankfully. This one probably far exceeds the attendance of anything they've done the past 4 years. I noticed yesterday that folks were a lot friendlier everywhere.

I hear you on local strawberries, I've picked up some up there probably the same one you went to and they were really really good (ate way to many on my way home). In St. Augustine there is a huge hydroponic strawberry farm that produces great strawberries. Our farmers market is on the smaller side so far but I think things will pick up .

Regular gas today seems to be back to normal, I just stopped and was able to fill er up, didn't even have to wait in line (otherwise would have just kept going) I try not to let the gas go below 3/4 empty.

Enjoy the rest of the evening, have a great one tomorrow! The closet can wait, at least that's what I told mine all week. haha

Good Morning, looks like another beautiful spring morning. I am loving this weather, can't believe it is already halfway through May though. Last week (I am sure I forgot to mention this), I went up to Gallatin to get fresh strawberries at a farm. Oh my, such divine sweetness and so tender. Not like the hard tasteless things at the grocery store! Hope I can get some more before the season is out, but we are just two of us so we don't eat them super fast. I never had time to do that before, this is just wonderful! Did a deep cleaning on the guest bathroom, and now am working on cleaning and organizing my clothes, will be getting rid of some things. Have read a couple of books (one fiction, one on running) and did some hours of continuing education.

Oh Kelly, my parents had an oil furnace back in the day, not only was it expensive but that furnace would break a lot! I would wake early in the morning to an ice cold house. Luckily the guy who fixed them lived just down the street and of course back then you could just give him a jingle, on the house phone of course, and he would be there in a few minutes. I don't remember when they converted to natural gas heat but it has been a long time. I keep the house very warm in the summer and very warm in the winter, ha!

Any trouble getting gas? We haven't been going anywhere for so long, guess we aren't too concerned and we have almost a full tank which should last us a while unless we have to go anywhere unexpected. I think by this weekend or early next week it ought to be back to normal.

Sunday's weather was something else, glad it calmed down yesterday. Guess it'll be warming up as the week goes by. The air doesn't go on til the house goes above 76, I know...the house is cold in winter and warm in summer most of the time. I think we got used to doing it that way when we had electric heat and air, ouch; even bigger ouch was having oil heat, that was a budget buster even in the 70s.

Let's try to get together sometime soon, that was awhile ago wasn't it? Gwenn, if you are still lurking here stop in and say hello! Bonnie you too!

Enjoy your day everyone!

Happiest of Mondays!!! Hope it was a good Mother's Day for everyone. Kelly, did you go see Kyle and the family?

Okay, Sunflower Bakehouse, yes! That sounds so interesting, we will have to get together sometime and check that out Kelly, I would love that! Last time we had lunch together was at Taziki's with Gwenn, that was a good long time ago.

Seems like we did get plenty o' rain yesterday, thought I heard we didn't get as much in April as usual, but no worries about things staying green, I am really kind of enjoying these lower than average temperatures because the AC doesn't need to be on.

I'm not sure how to spell it either, I don't think they care long as we do business with them if only one cookie at a time! You've got the same traffic messes up by you "amazed" at how everything has grown in the past 20 years.

You are thinking of Sunflower and you were right on with where it is. When you decide to try it, let me know I'll meet you.

Lousy weather today, feel sorry for those who planned on outdoor stuff. Although right now here the first wave of that storm has blown through and a little bit of sun is peeking out.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Happy Friday!!! I haven't been to Mount Juliet in ages, I should go check it out, but yikes, traffic was already so bad there, I am sure now it is worse. We have a Crumbls (I honestly cannot remember the spelling), we have been once but talk of going often since they have different flavors every week. I would go and get ONE cookie, hubby wants to go get four or five, so I am staying away from there because I would eat all of them!!!

You all have such a good Farmer's Market in Donelson Kelly, I will be checking out ours here and I have wanted to go to the big on in NashVegas for years, and never had time so I am going to put that on my list for later. There some place in Donelson that has super healthy food, totally can't remember what that is called, I think on Lebanon PIke not too far from Publix maybe? On that side of the road (but definitely not sure about all of this) and I want to try that place out, HEALTHY food.

Already you are sounding more relaxed. You love the outdoors, work outside when it is nice and inside when the weather isn't. I know, we all notice things when we aren't under the gun with a different to do list, for now enjoy yourself.

Happy to hear you all came through that storm, compared to what went down to our north and east we lucked out again.

Chilly this morning but it is turning out to be a nother nice day, going out to grab some more vitaD. I didn't go in because I saw the sign too late but Mt Juliet has a crumbles or whatever it's called. That shopping area is becoming another Cool Springs madhouse on both sides of the interstate. Amazon is building a mega complex near there (it can be seen from outer space I hear) so it'll be interesting with the accidents on I40 even though they are widening it.

Still nothing new around here, Donelson farmer's market opens for the season tomorrow, hope the weather holds that is about all for around here.

Good Morning!!! Hello!

Yes, it has been good, since I even worked on my vacations days this is really nice, very relaxing and I am doing things around the house but more leisurely of course! I did do some work for them on Sunday but that was all.

Hope no one had any issues with that crazy weather we had yesterday. Nothing bad here in our immediate neighborhood but that was kind of scary.

I'm working on lists, things to do, organizing, cleaning. This house needs it, all I did was work, this place is so neglected. Outside needs help too.

Hope you are enjoying your down time AND that the office is leaving you alone! Hopefully now that you are not so stressed your bod will relax and maybe start to heal a bit. Just a random thought.

Nothing new on this side of town.

Happy Saturday and I am DONE with work, for now. We will see how things go, not sure if I will look for something else later or not but for now, NOT. Nice day, I got out and walked/ran around here with a friend, my sciatica is still annoying me, probably worse for the wear now but if I put my mind to it, I at least now have the time to do my exercises, and that will help! Picked up a few groceries, just a couple of things to get by for a couple of days, now I need to plan some meals and cook at home.

Well, short timer hang in there, amazing how much they are putting on you...can't help but wonder if they are trying to lighten their current workload knowing you worked so hard.

Mid term spring is on the horizon, we will remember what it is like to sweat when not exercising for a brief while. Crazy.

I was back at the pool soon as Cooper opened private (guess that's what they are called) last summer. How's your sciatica?

Absolutely nothing new in this part of town, take care!

Glad you got a new PC Kelly, hope you get the mouse issue straightened out though because that would be a huge pain. Glad you can still use the pool Kelly, I know you enjoy that! Only a few more days for me at work and I am working more hours than never but soon it won't be a concern anymore. Wonder when second spring will be back? Monday I think because I heard it will be very warm again.

Good for you, and that s great you have potentials on the horizon...yes if you feel you eure.

Forgot about that craft sale, at this point any time we can get out and about is worth the effort, even if it is physical.

The pool according to management is ours until next Mar, then it'll be decided if they will consider to continue. Hope so. It is now called Sonesta, they are out of FL.

I'm on a new laptop and the old mouse will not install so I am having a hard time typing because I tend to rest my hands on that pad or whatever it's call and the curser is having it's way jumping all over, etc. There was no instruction book unless the geek guy forgot to put it in the box after set up. So I am going to go do something else because my patience is wearing thin.
Have a great week everyone!

Worked a million hours last week, tired tired tired and validates my decision to quit. Have already had some potential opportunities but I still think I should wait.

This weekend was the consignment craft sale, we had to go out to Murfreesboro this afternoon to get the stuff that didn't sell. I made a little but not sure if I will do it next year as I am not sure it is worth all of the effort to prepare the stuff and take it to Murfreesboro and then go back and get what didn't sell. But it was a fun field trip.

How is everyone else doing? You still here Portia? Kelly, has the pool over there shut down yet? Is the name of the hotel going to change?

I am sure there are others who will also tag team encourage you to TAKE TIME OFF, Just don't overdo your hip, work slowly...you know that but will you do it? haha

Going without the cone just may be enough encouragement to keep Greyson from his foot, might be worth a try. Cute overload with those two cohabitating.

Portia, hope all is well with your Aunt.

Okay everyone, get on out and grab all the vitaD you can. What's a "little" wind.

Kelly, I hope I will be able to step up the running training too! Right now I can barely run with my hip and that is from too much sitting and not enough running - because why? WORKING ALL THE TIME! Looking around my disaster area house thinking I should have some time to get things in order around here. I feel like I want to start looking for something new but hubby is encouraging me to take some time off, enjoy the summer a little.

Greyson is doing very well! They said leave the cone on for 10 - 14 days but he seems to be doing okay without it, we just don't want him to lick his paw. He was at first, now is not but we have to keep an eye on him to make sure. Lizzie is doing better with him too, they cohabited on the bed together last night without incident.

It's a pretty day, albeit windy. Hope everyone can enjoy some sun.

HooRah Gloria!!!! Will raise a toast to you tonight. You will be fine, and I hope they appreciate your generosity of three weeks notice. Considering what you haven't been able to do I think you won just by doing it, there were many others who are in the same boat. Kyle is back from his temp assignment so I think he may be stepping up the run training. I'll be on the sidelines cheering. Seems strange to again not to have the marathon this month. I had almost convinced myself to work it again.

I meant to ask how Greyson was doing, sorry emoticon but happy he is doing fine. Okay Lizzie, be nice young lady.

Looks like it'll be breezy and wet at times today, hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend, nothing going on in this part of town.

Happy Saturday! Hi Portia, how are you doing? Good for you still out walking and hiking!

Kelly, YES I did do Oak Barrel, it was fun as usual but being untrained and tired, I had to walk most of it. I had a great time, lots of fun people to see there.

Greyson had his paw operated on, he is doing fine, but he has to wear the cone which he hates and we are keeping him away from Lizzie for the most part because she is a little monster and wants to fight and play. He isn't up for that with his paw and the cone.

Kelly, big big news. I put in my three weeks notice yesterday. Just can't keep working nonstop like this. No plans for a new job yet, maybe later after I have time to rest and recover. I need a break.

Welcome to the Town Square, feel free to stop by often and thank you for sharing pictures of your hike!

Took a peek at your spark page, hope your Aunt is recuperating well. The area around Vandy is a great place to clear your head, although there were times I felt like I did a 5k just getting around the medical center.

Happy Easter everyone!!! Hope all y'all are enjoying this great sunny day.

Welcome back Gloria, sorry to hear your folks have something going on but they are safe and that is all that counts. Honestly, I thought you may have had to make a trip north and I'm relieved that it wasn't more serious (or at least I hope so).

Sad with all the forced "fed" holidays it cut into religion.

Did you do the Oak Barrel? Good for you if you, and still don't let it get you down if you didn't; you have very little time to yourself lately.

Nothing going on in this part of town, or with me .

Happy Friday! Good Friday. We are not off today. We used to get this day off each year, not anymore.

Sorry I was AWOL! I had to make an unexpected trip to Michigan to help my parents out. I wasn't here for the rain. I saw pictures, yikes, scary. It was on the national news. Am back home now, probably should still be up there helping but my sister is doing her best to take care of things.

No exercise at all while I was gone, I was glad to get a run in yesterday, even with all of that wind! And ate pretty bad too, so now I have a couple of pounds to drop. Oak Barrel Half is tomorrow, I think I am going. With all of this work (including the deadlines) to catch up on, ugh, I am not sure, but YES, I am going!!!!

Holy Molely...hope you all haven't floated away or worse had lightening issues. 7+ inches of rain in about 24hrs, glad it wasn't snow.

Here, lots of street flooding with wake water from passing cars mostly going too fast pushing into homes, others just flooded. No other issues thankfully at our abode.

Enjoy your Sunday, looks like it'll be mostly sunny.

A couple of friends have been doing at least one state park a month hike the past few months (well, weather nixed it last month), did not realize how many we have within a few hours drive.

His in laws are off quarantine and will slowly get back in the groove of it, she got her hair cut last week. Yes, I too hope they do get out and do something often.

Oh my are we spoiled with this weather, I know winter will lurk around for awhile.

I agree on if they are honey bees, not sure who to even ask about what to do. Does your area have an online page that you might be able to get some information on what to do? A beekeeper maybe? Is there a food source there that you could move away from the patio or introduce a new one away?

Hope you get yourself some down time today!

Spring has sprung, it is so beautiful with the trees blooming! This grass here needs to be mowed though! We've got some kind of bees loitering on our back patio, I want them gone. But they might be honeybees, in which case I am not sure since they need to stay productive. Maybe they can be moved if we can find where they are coming from?

There are definitely some good places to eat up here. Kelly, will Kyle's in-laws get the vaccine And if so, maybe they will get out more then?

I've heard of flash floods in a couple of these state parks, just crazy. I want to visit more state parks this summer but probably can't unless work dies down a little.

Good for you taking a day OFF!!!

Hendersonville area gets some really cool eatin' places, our newest addition is west coast taco which I heard has some unique stuff so will give it a try sometime soon. I wish our daughter in law's folks were more willing to chance being in public, haven't seen them in awhile. But not complaining, they only greet even their children at the door still. Now you have the cookie monster talking to me, thanks a lot Gloria!

Nice today, guess the next few days are going to be wild weather wise. Four of our water group are back, loosing one tomorrow morning she is going back to Singapore for awhile for work and to visit her Mom. I hope she gets out before the weather gets bad tomorrow, they have changed her flight into ATL several times already which is okay long as it is on time.

Nothing else interesting around here. Take care everyone, watch for flash flooding.

Speaking of flash flooding, I actually got to go to a real live meeting last night. The guest speaker is the Chief of the TN Park Rangers (part of the Highway Patrol), what an interesting career he has had. One of his adventures was a water rescue, with the help of a daring helicopter pilot, of a family stranded on a rock after a flash flood (that happened literally without warning). Amazing too was they were on that big high flat rock when it happened sadly they lost Grandma.

Haha Kelly, thanks for sharing the funnies! We have a coworker who will ask us for jokes. My manager is good at them, sometimes I can provide some cute ones too.

We got a new cookie place here, Crumbl it is called. Do you have one around Donelson Kelly? We tried it, I think each cookie has like 500 calories and so that isn't going to be a thing I will indulge in too often. Tasty though! They have different flavors every week.

Ran this morning in pouring rain, it did stop after a while. At least it isn't too cold. The grass is green and starting to grow and I am seeing trees blooming now. I expect in the next couple of weeks the grass will need to be mowed.

Not too much else going on here!! I am NOT working today!!! Just some R&R!!!!

Now that I'm older…
My goal for 2020 was to lose 10 pounds. Only have 14 to go.
Ate salad for dinner. Mostly croutons and tomatoes. Really just one big round crouton covered with tomato sauce, and cheese. FINE it was pizza…OK!???
A recent study has found women who carry a little extra weight live longer than men who mention it.
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.
Remember back when we were kids and every time it was below zero outside they closed school? Yeah, me neither.
I may not be that funny or athletic or good looking or smart or talented. I forgot where I going with this.
I love aging, I learn something new every day and forget 5 other things.
Pass this along to anyone who could use a chuckle today

WoW is it ever windy today!!! This morning at the pool, it was pushing a chaise lounge across the patio, headed for the outdoor pool but got caught up on the handicap chair lift.

That is downright crazy to not be able to go out of the county! Thankfully that is not the case here. Don't blame him for being mad. No reaction so far, not even a sore arm.

Oh yes it is another great day, sat outside and soaked up some serious vitaD! And that is about all I have done.

Well, sorry that the work load is still a nightmare but enjoy what you can with the rest of the weekend!

Happy Saturday!!! Good luck on shot number two Kelly! One of my co-workers was going to Vandy in Nashville today for number one. My father has still not been able to get one, they just don't have them where he lives and so was going to try a different county and they said no, he can't do that. It just doesn't make sense to me. My mom is furious over it.

Haven't smelled Pepe in a few days but I won't be surprised to smell him again when he recovers.

It's so pretty out today, the sun is gorgeous. I did my run early and thought with the wind it might be too cold but it was just splendid, I enjoyed it. Gotta get back to work soon, my poor team is struggling so right now with the work hours, I am very behind and it is only the the 6th of the month, it is not usually this bad until closer to mid- month.

Enjoy the sunshine, the upcoming week looks like it will be fabulous too!!!

Stopped by the other day, guess I missed the post button!

Crazy nice weather most of this week, today it is windy making it feel cooler, heck who cares it is still very nice for March and winds are to be expected.

As far as Pepe, unless you can entice what's her name to mosey on up the street he's not going anywhere until he is ready. I read the other day that it takes them days to recover their spray, so I guess there was an accomplish the night our pup got sprayed twice within minutes. Our neighbor swore she heard it laughing as it wiggled under the fence.

All is well on this side, the rest of the pool crowd are starting to come back so it made this week go by a bit faster. I'm headed up to Vandy Lebanon for my second distemper shot. Just happened to be at the right place at the right time when someone told me to get over there. I was willing to wait for it but figured I might as well get it over with. Hoping I will be as lucky with this one as last one with no reaction to it.

Enjoy your weekend, guess it won't be long before we change clocks again.

Happy March! Spring is right around the corner! Today back to a little lower than normal temps, but yes, hopefully it will dry out a bit, that was a bit of wild weather, hopefully nothing too serious for anyone. We had hail up here, pretty big, saw some people say they had a little damage but we didn't go outside in that! Neighborhood skunk has been by. I need to figure out how to ask Pepe to move on!!!

You did nine miles on purpose??? Would have texted back, sorry stranded on an island with this rain, it'll be awhile. That storm last night was something, hopefully with the break so far today the levels will go down. Haven't heard of anything serious in the general area, always a concern with nightfall.

Nothing exciting here, we get so spoiled so quickly with nice weather don't we? Hard to believe we are saying bah bye to February. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Well wasn't this past week lovely? Great weather. Now I guess monsoons? LOL, I don't know, I kept hearing people talk about all of this rain that we are going to get. On my run this morning I went through one of the parks here in Hendersonville and part of the greenway was underwater from the rain yesterday and today....and isn't it supposed to be a lot of rain tomorrow?

Not much going on here. I was out for run, which turned out to be a lot of walking actually, but no matter, I got nine miles in, just glad to be out doing that, but lo and behold, someone from my team at work texted me asking for something. Seriously? I told them it would be another couple of hours before I could get it for them. I plan to work this weekend but sheesh, I feel that them texting me like that on a Saturday is just too much.

Hopefully things have improved for you all! I didn't venture out until Sunday, our street is fairly sunny and thought about going out Sat afternoon but looked down the street and the road was glistening in the sun so back inside I went. Some of the driveways in here are still ice covered because they have 2 story houses across the street and are shaded from the sun. Sad. Folks don't seem to understand what ice on the road is and barrel along.

Nothing else going on, stay well and safe and hope you all are able to better get out and move about.

I know, it's hard enough with main breaks but when equipment and folks can't get in to fix it especially in cold weather I don't want to think about it.

Oh my gosh, this weather, lol! Fun stuff for most I think. I am not a fan but hey, I am not going anywhere so it doesn't matter. We got out yesterday for my physical therapy. Our street is ridiculous, still complete ice, but we got Indian Lake Road and it was much better, as was Main Street and the other busy streets.

How are things in Nashville Kelly? Probably better than here but I am guessing the neighborhoods are still crazy. 40 today and sun, that will help! I think it will take a couple of days to really melt this ice though.

And what about Texas, oh wow, how awful.

Back at ya!!! Good chocolate will have to wait for another day, but I did finish off the dark chocolate Milano cookies with a protein drink a few minutes ago.

WOW, that is lucky you were on the road alone! Glad you were. It's slick every where, someone reported that the food lion parking lot (by us) was a sheet of ice and folks were "skating" on it earlier.

I saw you did the hot chocolate, hooray for you! I thought about going to the pool and walking yesterday, I can easily do 2200+ steps in there (not that ambitious to do much more especially if the water and air is cold) now I wish I had because it looks like the slick and even white stuff will be here even tomorrow. .

Happy Valentine's Day! May you be blessed with some good chocolate!!!

Still wondering about this weather - seems like freezing fog (slick) right now. We went out and rounded a corner, unexpectedly slid and glad there wasn't another car or we would have been in trouble.

I forgot about the Chinese new year! A dragon dance would be fun. Too cold for outside though isn't it?

Well, if you go get milk (maybe extra cereal too?), bad weather won't happen...always seems the case for me. Crazy for sure. Same for staying home. Luckily I don't have but a mile to get out of our hood to the main road.

What's crazier than that, for sure your work wins. What is wrong with boss'? Do they even look at the logs of hours and the volume. It's been like this for a long time everywhere but this seems to have gone on for as long as I've known you without much of a let up.

Yesterday or today was Chinese New Year, year of the Ox, shoot of some imaginary fireworks, light some lanterns and do the dragon dance through the streets.

Oh don't forget to pick up some chocolate for tomorrow!

Well, what do we think? Is the weather forecast for Monday going to be The Big One? Maybe it will pass us by? I don't really need or want to go to the store but maybe I should see if hubby needs milk for his cereal. It will stay very cold so if it does snow, it will stick around for at least a couple of days I think.

I am not sure what is going on at work...I am wondering if one of the team members is threatening to quit. Suddenly they are accommodating that person a lot. That person already isn't working as much as the rest of us...so they take work away from that person and try to push it on the rest of us - and the rest of us are already working too much. My situation is certainly not the worst of my team. When I logged on this morning I saw that one of my team members was working until 2 am!!!!

It felt colder than the temp this morn, for sure the pool air and water was colder than before, how many cals can you burn shivering? Yup, it's the big one. I left out that they actually sold it and I had the name and it just ran out of my fingers and is hiding.

Nothing happening around here, stay warm it'll be beyond chilly the next few days. And yes, I really don't miss the north's weather all that much.

I went for a walk today, brrrrr, that wind is chilly! I was bundled up and warm enough except for my face. I guess I needed a scarf! Glad I don't live in the north anymore, it is so cold there and I am not sure I would be able to tolerate that.

Wow on the Marriott, I assume this is the one off Elm Hill? Marriott Drive is it? We've had continuing education there in the past. Of course nowadays all of that is virtual. I wouldn't get in that 80 degree pool for nuttin'!! LOL

Gloria you would not be happy at our pool, the water temp on a good day is probably 80, air temp is 70. Since there are so few of us going we don't want to complain too much about it but we'd be happier with a few added degrees to the water and air. Marriott is changing management and it's structure so we are concerned that we will be shown the door. The poor employees were made to reapply for their jobs, some of them have been there decades.

I remember the days of having only one car and we lived maybe 30 miles from work, it was okay I was working. When John started nuke training it meant driving back at midnight sometimes to get him, about 2 months in we had a second car.

Shame the Hot Chocolate is virtual, I know how much you enjoy it and the reward afterward. It always tastes better with friends, maybe you all will get on your phones and visit awhile?

It is sunny out, hope it is like that tomorrow because it will be northern cold.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, and not have an overloaded week. Times like this I am glad to be retired.

Ah Kelly! I just love it that you are still going to the pool. I want to go to the pool but I just can't love it if the water isn't like a hot tub!

Yeah work is crazy for sure but some of the others on my team are working way more than I am. I am not kidding when I tell you there is one person who I think might be working 24 hours a day sometimes. I see she is online at midnight sometimes and when I get up and start in the morning at 6:30 she is working. What the heck? I feel guilty complaining when she and others are working more than I am but this isn't right. I have had talks with my manager and I think others on my team have too. I am really afraid the team will implode. If anyone quits I am out of there because then the work just get delegated and I can't handle that. Right now they say we will continue to work from home until July. Personally I think it will be longer but I am trying to stick it out until at least then. That way I don't have to buy a car. It's a bit of a hassle at times for us to only have one car but we have been doing an okay job of making that work. If I get a job that requires a commute I won't have a choice but to get a car. The longer I wait, the more I save.

Kelly, I just had to pause for a minute when you said yo wanted yourself from grabbing the dessert....I can totally relate to that! I have been doing better on that lately. My race packet came for the Hot Chocolate 15k (will now be virtual, no surprise I suppose) and there is chocolate and hot chocolate in there, and I want that NOW, but I will save it for race day - which is supposed to be next Saturday.

Sorry Gloria, hope that bug a boo stays away.

Don't push yourself though. You are under so much stress at work I think your body is telling you to take it easy. Slow and steady, stay with PT long as it's helping.

Nothing new around here. I still head over to the pool most week day mornings, usually only one other then and rarely guests. If that happens I just get out. I grab groceries in the morning most times and my old standby from decades, get in the car find a spot and just sit watch the world go by, often with food and finally weaned myself off of grabbing dessert.

Have a good week!

Saturday again, I had another bout with a stomach bug this past week, second time in about a year. Nasty stuff. That was Tuesday, I felt wretched on Wednesday and then okay since but haven't been able to eat a ton, still a bit queasy. Decided to run this morning but cautiously and conservatively and a short distance. Pretty sure more would not have been prudent!

PT, still going, I don't know how long. I have seen some improvements for sure but running is still not good.

Kelly how are things over on your side of town? Are you getting out much?

I have, looked for the program John was on and can not find it, his included using those stretchy bands. Sparks has a bunch of them but can't find where they are saved on here. I'll look around. I hear you on how those parts of the bod you favor or not use so much do not like it when you do something different. I found if I slowly work it back in I do okay on some others I not going to push it past giving it a go. You could probably work some of your yoga moves into chair mode. How long will you go for PT, good for you going; you've had that issue for awhile.

It is just crazy warm weather today and that storm that is moving in later, looking outside and can't help but wonder if it'll show up earlier. Agreed on Saturday, I did not want to come inside.

I haven't heard anything about Opry Mills either.

HELLO!!!! Happy Saturday! Kelly have you tried any of those chair exercises? I could go for some stuff like that. Yesterday at PT she had me doing some lunges. Great for one side but the side with the sciatica didn't like that.

Kelly, I heard about that shooting at OpryMills, Don't know if they caught those culprits or not.

Sure was chilly this morning but the sun is so pretty now. I hear we might get lots and lots of rain. If that was snow.....HAHAHA!!!

Christmas dinner anytime of the year works for me, happy you are finally getting to have it!!! Extra Christmas wishes work too!

Makes me sad to hear about work, I saw it with hubby and been there myself but for me it wasn't anything compared to what you all are going through. Deep breaths, maybe find something funny each day to lighten the mood? I know, who has time for that? Hugs

Glad you have an answer and the PT is working. I need to work on leg strength, water works is not doing it. I found some chair exercises that I am going to try. I think I was going to fast on doing any new stuff, I think though a big part of is my legs for whatever reason are not as strong. I know, I still haven't been to Ortho for my right knee and fibula.

Things are quiet around here, thankfully. Although there was a shooting incident at OpryMills mall but haven't seen a whole lot about it.

You are right about the wind, can you imagine how cold it would be if the sun weren't out?

Good Morning! And happy Sunday. It's not been that cold but it sure has been windy!

I think my work team is getting kind of snippy with each other and not wanting to help each other out. No surprises, who has time, and we are all stretched past the point of caring. It's sad.

Kelly, how are things on your side of town? Anything fun going on? I moved from the strength training videos to barre, Kelly, I kind of agree with you on the barre and Pilates but the strength training that I was doing had a lot of jump rope, sometimes that was too much for me. I went to PT and it is sciatica. It's been better since PT started but yesterday it was very sore.

Well, I have to work today and we are also having our belated Christmas dinner (since we had no hot water at Christmas) so big time cooking is going on!

Take care!!!

After the frozen fog yesterday morning, it sure is wonderfully nice out today.

Really Gloria? Are the folks in the ivory tower not paying attention to all this, guess they might be sitting at home not realizing how short handed you are. It isn't tattling if everyone speaks up. I know how much you put in so my mind can not imagine that it is so much worse with other team members. Stay well.

I am amazed how flexible Michelle has gotten, she's always been athletic but with the last knee partial she had maybe 12 years ago that has been a bit of an issue. Sorry you still have that hamstring issue though. Everytime I try to introduce my knees to new pilates or barre they let me know they will get even if I keep it up. Last week I tried again but with way fewer reps, seems that was a good way to go. My legs are not as strong as they should be either.

To my surprise I did not gain since mid Dec, man did I over do it with empty carbs, so I too am working hard on correcting that habit. Thankfully Bundt is not near us.

Well, sorry work is still such a mess but we can only hope it'll be better this week right?

Cold weather, YES, winter is here. But honestly, it has been a fairly mild winter hasn't it? I can't find a lot to complain about. I am not a huge fan of cold weather but it has been a fairly average winter I think. Saw a lot of snow south of here near Monteagle and some to the west around Hoehnwald.

The past week was a bit rough at the office and I think that the person on my team who has been working 18 hours a day seven days a week, maybe she didn't go to bed at all one night. Got another co-worker who is sick and even though she needed to rest, she was working her tail off too. As much as I work, I do not have as bad as some of the others I work with. We are heading into our busy time. I am worried. We are still short staffed.

I started doing BeachBody workouts about a month ago, it's going well, I am enjoying it. I have to modify a lot but I feel I am making progress. Still running but have gotten so slow and lazy (have a hamstring issue really). I need the strength training, this is really helping me get back on track. Monday I am going for physical therapy and maybe I can get that hamstring back in order and build my running back up again. If not, oh well, I am out moving and getting miles in, good enough.

Now I have to get eating back on track. Today I am having a gluten free Bundtlet from Everything Bundt, not that is not on track but it sure is tasty!!!!

Happy New Year and YES let's celebrate our health as we move forward and I hope with all my heart any of you affected by this past year that this year is better.

I agree Gloria, I said today that I am grateful to have stayed out of its path, just hope I didn't jinx myself because I wasn't bragging just being grateful.

Did you enjoy your jaunt on New Year's? At least you had decent weather, or did we seems like Friday was weeks ago. I couldn't find anything to hold my interest for another hour just figured I celebrated New York time, that works .

Happy New Year!!! emoticon

I have been saying all year, this has NOT been the worst year! I know for many it has been awful. For us, it has been full of blessings, joy and happiness. I miss seeing friends and going for group runs, races have been limited of course, but still, I feel that we have been fortunate. I hope and pray that it is a great 2021 for everyone and that things get better for everyone!

As far as travel, right now I would be happy just to go somewhere around here...like the BEACH! We had hoped for a big trip in 2020, not overseas, but maybe back to Hawaii. I would love to Banff or somewhere pretty like that but for now Canada is off limits due to Covid.

I stayed up to welcome the new year!! Haven't done that in a long time - usually to bed early so I can get up and run with the group in the morning. But no group runs for me right now. I am going to do the Frostbite 10k tomorrow though - they have a good plan for safety. I am looking forward to that! Otherwise, now that the rain has passed, it looks like it is going to be very nice and warm out today!! Everyone needs to get out and enjoy it!

Well Gloria, what this past year has told me was never put it off. You two are still young enough to travel, just give yourselves permission to use that vacation time.

Fingers crossed on finally having a solution to the water heater!

All things considered I think att did a good job, sad to listen to those impatient folks whine about being this or that. Tells us all just how tied we are to these gadgets.

Here we are almost time to say bahbye to 2020. Got nothing planned, usually isn't a big night anyway.

Well Hello! Hope it was a good Christmas! For me, of course working a lot and then the Internet was down. I was impressed with how fast AT&T got it back going again. What a terrible nightmare, I just can't believe the devastation.

Our hot water came back on Monday - gas company came and found some things related to our gas lines, and that told the plumber what he needed to do, so he was here that afternoon. So far so good, keeping our fingers crossed.

Oh Kelly, I knew you had some stories to tell and a lot more I bet. And that train trip and visit with that family, most of us can not fathom that and you really had the whole experience doing that and then going later in the car, you knew the truth.

I've not traveled much, maybe I should have. My hubby always wanted to, I didn't care. Maybe I should have.

Well, off to do some work (yes I am on vacation and yes I am working but on my own terms, ha)!

Seems to me that if it is their product you all should be moved to and stay at the top of the list (or is that part of the inventory problem?). Yikes but at least the plumber came and made an all out effort, guess he will now carry that do dad gas checker with him. Sorry, but let's be positive there is a quick solution.

I'm not a regular church attender, I think that mass and the Vatican Mass I went to on a trip to Rome the following year will always be more memorable. The back story to Berlin: my dad was stationed in Germany we were part of an exchange program my senior year with a student from W Berlin. She came for a couple of weeks to visit us, then at Christmas I went there. Now that was quite a trip in. I traveled alone at night on the train through E Germany on a not so crowded troop train. Instructions were do as told, especially when told to lower the shade and not raise it til the train is underway. Well, being 17, I did not listen at the first stop as I raised that shade a german trooper pointed a big ole rifle at me and shortly after boarded the train! Oh no, if he doesn't kill me dad will for not listening. It was so sad riding through the country with very few lights on and no Christmas lights. The hardest was touring E Berlin, Being with a German family I got to see more of that it really looked like rather than what the tourists were being shown. The real lesson was we drove instead of taking the train to visit with my grandmother and cousin that summer but could not tour like I got too just a few months earlier, we were there the day the Berlin wall went up. Going through checkpoint charlie and caravaning with other cars back through E germany was a real experience of a lifetime.

Turned out nice today! Have a restful week and plenty of hot H2O!

Yes it is very damp! I want to go for a walk and probably will soon but I wish we had a little more sun. Well, it IS December so I guess this is to be expected!

The previous hot water heater was installed and serviced by Lee Company and we had such bad luck with that whole situation that we decided to go with a local guy for the new one. It has worked since it was installed the day after Thanksgiving. We've been very happy with it. So we called him yesterday and he was here for several hours. There are no error codes so no way to isolate the problem. He called tech support for the manufacturer and they wouldn't help him until he tested the gas pressure. He didn't have the right tool for that but he could definitely tell there is gas. So he tried a bunch of things in the interim and nothing worked. He will be back tomorrow with the manometer (I think it's called) to check the gas. I can't imagine what we will do if it can't be fixed because there is a two month waiting list to get them due to demand. So I am trying not to worry about that right now. I went to the store but didn't get anything for Friday because I don't know if we will want to dirty a bunch of dishes with no hot water. Once he comes tomorrow we should be able to figure out what to do.

Kelly, what an adventure for your Christmas in '60! Do you go to mass on Christmas morning? None of the protestant churches around here have Christmas day services but some have Christmas Eve candlelight services which I love. I bet you did a lot of other neat traveling too.

Well it sure turned damp cold today, colder than yesterday am when it was 25. Now it's drizzling.

That is just plain crazy about your water heater!!! Grrrrrr Is it possessed? (Or the plumber?)
I hope you get more time to yourself after Wednesday. Well if Gregg shows up he will have something to open when he gets back home.

I'll head down to Kyle's either Christmas Eve or day and stay over. Michelle's parents are still hunkering down at home so won't see them. They decided on a German theme. I spent Christmas '60 in W Berlin with a German family, their traditions weren't much different than ours; went to Mass at a beautiful cathedral. What overwhelmed me the most was seeing E Berlin and E Germany and appreciating our freedom.

Nothing interesting going on in this little corner, can't find any mischief to get into. Hope you got your water monster fixed right today!!!

Happy Saturday! Nice weather today though I guess rain is headed this way. I heard that it will be nice this week but with COLD COLD weather headed this way for Christmas. Well guess what, the new hot water heater isn't working!!! Can you believe it? Plumber is headed this way sometime this afternoon (I hope). I used it this morning after I ran and now it won't come on. So weird. Not sure what to think.

Not much else going on here. Lots of hours working last week but still getting walking and running in, started a more serious strength training program and I need to get to the grocery store - haven't been since before Thanksgiving.

Kelly, what are you planning for Christmas? For us just quiet at home, don't know if Greg will show up be we already shipped his gifts to him. I am off starting Wednesday but might have to go to the office that day (not sure yet) and will be working a little each day - hoping to get a lot done by Tuesday so I don't have to work that much on my vacay. I'm supposed to be off until January 4th.

Well, I better go moving, I'm chilling today but that doesn't mean I get to just sit here, ha!!!

As dank and dreary as it started out yesterday it turned fairly nice and really nice today. At least it hasn't been any white or frozen stuff.

Oh the sun is out and it is so pretty! It was rainy for my morning run. I was slogging this morning, not in the mood to run really but at least I got that done! I've been working a lot this week, late nights and I am so tired! Will probably work some more today, it would be good if I could get a lot done today and NOT work tomorrow!

I giggled about Minew and the martinis. Ha!
