Oh, well many different things can affect hormonal imbalance. Have you lost a signifigant amount of weight lately? Stress out more so than usual? Changes in diet? There are so many different things that can affect out hormones. I can tell you that when I was 16, I weighed oer 200 lbs. Because of my excessive weight, my hormones were always going crazy. I can remember being on my period for over 3 months, and then there would be times that I would go 5-6 months without ever having one. Women's bodies are crazy. lol

I will see my doc if this happens again next month. I've also been on this kind of birth control for almost 2 years, so nothing different in the hormones. I was just wondering if anyone else had this experience.

Thanks

Switching your birth control more than likely caused a hormonal imbalance, which in turn would make you miss a menstrual cycle. Every woman's endometrial cycle consists of the proliferative, secretory, and menstrual phases. Once you switched to loestrin, your body probably started adjusting to the new hormone, and basically needs to play 'catch up.' Although I wouldn't be concerned, TRAVELNISTA is right. If you are worried about it, then you definitely need to call your doctor.

I know you are concerned and scared but you need to call your doctor. Spark People can not give you medicl advise but only their opinions.

I'm a bit of a hypercondriac, but i've been on birth control for 8 years now and Loestrin specifically for about 2 and have never missed a period... until now. I know i'm not pregnant (two tests have confirmed) and i can't think of any other reason for missing. I know being on Loestrin has made my periods virtually non-existent, but i've never completely missed. Has this happened to anyone?
