WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO BECOME YOUR HEALTHIEST YOU?

What motivates me is preserving my quality of life and longevity.
I'm now 59 years young and turning 60 in a short five months. So, yes, you can bet that I am diligently working on myself to be the healthiest me I can be going into my senior years. My only wish? That I had begun doing this years ago. When I say years, I mean at least as early as my early twenties. I would be far better off today, right?

I mean, think about it. If you were to set the goal of a lifetime; to become the healthiest you, you can be and had found a way that you could reduce and manage, even prevent degenerative health conditions, wouldn't you do everything in your power to reach that goal? I know I certainly would.

For you, depending on your health issues some other lifestyle change may work better for you. However, in my life-threatening struggle to find what would make me the healthiest me I can be was, firstly, changing my diet to the healthiest balanced diet I found to be out there and for me, that was Dr. Joel Furhman's Nutritarian lifestyle. Because if I would have continued down my road of destruction my lifespan would have been considerably shortened and ended with an assortment of degenerative health issues. Not a pretty picture.

So, along with diet change and increased physical activity, it also meant getting 7-8 hours of sleep every night, being physically active, having a positive and supportive friend or partner, managing your weight, effectively managing stress and maintaining a positive attitude will go a long way to regaining and preserving your health.

And of course, you want to include making sure your body mass index, BMI, blood pressure and heart rate are optimal, along with taking specific supplements matched up to your genetics, following through with annual lab tests and medical concerns definitely helps in promoting the healthiest you, you can be and keep you going strong into your senior years.

What's the point of suffering from preventable or manageable degenerative health conditions if you don't have to. Especially going into your senior years? It will also drastically reduce money spent on prescription medications that expose you to side effects. Wouldn't that be nice? That would definitely be an added bonus, wouldn't it?!

So, what is it that motivates you in becoming the healthiest you, you can be?
