I find it hard to lose weight, period. I've had hypothyroid issues for a number of years now, but I can't say that losing weight is any worse now than it was before. Recently I've been focusing on a much higher fiber intake (upper end of recommendations), which in turn seems to keep the calorie counts lower. Protein helps to keep the hunger at bay for me, and water...lots and lots of water. Even though that doesn't "fill me up" like some say it does, it does help me to stay hydrated. That's a big issue for me. I take 100 mcg of levothyroxine daily. I've also recently tried increasing my activity level, but I've needed to do that for lots of reasons. Mostly because I'm a slug and hate exercise. Consequently, I try to remember to call it fitness and that I'm making my heart muscle work a little harder than usual. Mind games!!

@LYON898 I, too, have hypothyroid problems and find it extremely difficult to lose weight. So far my only solution is low carb - high protein diet. Also, logging everything I eat and keeping track of calories. Exercise is a very important part, too. So far this month I have taken off 13 pounds in June. I am disabled so am very limited as to exercising.

Use an UpWalker when walking outside as I am very unsteady.
