Just joined the group and my goals for this week are to
-deep clean/organize my kitchen
-try and use up as much food that we already have, because our grocery budget is in the negative this week, due to eating out too much over the holiday weekend emoticon
-menu plan every meal for the rest of the week, including breakfasts and lunches!
-walk to our local orchard and buy some in season produce

I'm new to this challenge too, and excited about it! I wanted to try a new recipe and I made a batch of healthy banana muffins this morning that were great! They felt like such a treat :)
I'm going to plan my shopping list for the week also.

Hi, I just joined this challenge (and Sparkpeople in general) and my goals for this week are to:

a) actually sit down and plan out a weekly menu & list
b) go shopping & stick to my list
c) Eat from my list, NOT just going to a drive-thru because "it's easier".

HI everyone, I planned my whole week.

1. I made out a weeks menu. I bought only the foods on my list.
2. All Healthy Foods.
3. Made six healthy recipes this week, actually, for all 7 days.
4. I made 2 recipes on sparkpeople, One is a Quick, homemade chicken veg soup. I love soups. They fill my cravings when I'm hungry and under 40 cal for about 2 cups.
5. My husband has his stash of goodies like cookies, real jello, real pudding.
I have the 100 cal treats like cookies, sugar free puddings and jello, I also bought a big box of 42 bags of assorted chips, cheese curls, popcorn, and they are all only .75 oz. so their also low in calories.
6. I also bought this awesome frozen yogurt. Some are Low Fat and some are Fat Free...
It's called: Kemps, Chocolate Caramel Brownie...talk about good. It's chocolate ice cream with chunks of brownies and chunks of caramel that melts in your mouth... I put 1/2 cp in a cone and that's my healthy treat.
I also bought Kemps, Black Jack Cherry...now if you like Chocolate Covered Cherries, then this is for you. Big chunks of cherries with chocolate chunks and cherry frozen yogurt.
See..you can have your treats too and not go off your diet.
7. and for breakfast or if you have a sweet craving and don't want treats, then I will have one or two frozen waffles and I put 1/4 cp. of Fat Free & Sugar Free Vermont Maid Syrup with bananas on the waffle. Talk about a great breakfast or an any time treat.
8. I have used alot of Meg's Recipes here too. Some of them I changed and use lower calorie items in it to make the calories lower. But so good.

My weigh-in is tomorrow and I'm looking foward to weighing-in.

So, see you all tomorrow.. SHER

I have my whole month planned of what I'm going to eat. emoticon

My goals are to stick with the plan I prepared, no matter what! My husband refuses to eat healthy, buys cookies and potato chips, which I LOVE. then fusses at me for eating them up. Well, stop bringing them home, dude. It's just me and him, kids are grown and gone. I walk in the kitchen and I swear I hear them calling me, "hey, Pam..bet you can't eat just one" anyway. Oh I said he refuses to eat healthy, he has been eating fruit ( he sprinkles sugar on it, does that count?) lol I really need to stick to my guns and bake the fish instead of frying it. I love working out with the wii, so I plan 3 days a week for that.
Have a great week emoticon

My week one challenge goal are to stick to my week's meal plan, and my week's time management planner.

Within the meal plan I allow for up to 2 cases of flexibility. For example if I stay for lunch at my friend's house, after felt circle.
We are vegetarians, and low dairy, so within this meal plan are some lovely healthy meals that work for both my son and I. I look forward to this challenge, as I know it is what we need. My son loves to check the food pyramid we have up on the fridge, making sure we have our fruits and veg each day. He also loves to check off the quick trackers on the nutrition page!

The time planner, however, is much more of a challenge for me. but if I don't follow it 2 major problems occur - 1. I won't have time to prepare our meals, and 2. I won't have got my study and exercise done. All together this will make me a frustrated and grumpy and over-eating mama!

I would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri people who are the Traditional Custodians of this Land (Melbourne, Australia). I would also like to pay respect to the Elders both past and present of the Kulin Nation and extend that respect to other Indigenous Australians present.

Thank you Cheepammi,

Jennfer Hudson has money, she can afford weight watchers, a chef to make her food, a dietician to keep her on the diet, and her own work out gym (probably in her own designed exercise room in her mansion) and her body guards to tell her how nice she looks.lol and ...
All the money in the world to buy new clothes, I cleaning lady to clean her messy dishes from eating her chef cooked food, shall I go on? lol

Nice to meet you and I am happy and perfectly satisfied with SparkPeople Plan, where people make the difference. Like you and everyone else in here. See you later and have a great evening. SHER emoticon

My Goal for My First Week on SparkPeople is:

1. Eat Healthy
2. I love to cook and I don't work so I do make healthy meals everyday.
3. Breath better from loosing weight one pound at a time.

That's my Goals for this week. SHER emoticon

Hi, I'm SHER. I am a Lung CAncer survivor for 7 years now. I had 2/3 rds of my right lung removed, the horrible chemo then the degrading hair loss. I was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in college at age 55. I returned to college and graduated as a Registered Medical Asistant. Exactly one year after cancer, my husband had a major heart attack. I guess the caring for me and his full time job and my care giver, it was too much for him. we are both doing wonderful now. I am 61 years young and I now need to loose this weight. I gained the weight from chemo but that was 7 years ago and I need to stop blamming chemo for my weight gain. It's now me..I'm the cause. It was my control. My control of eating. My Dad & my younger Brother and I all had cancer the same time. My Dad & my Brother passed away from the Lung Cancer. I made it. I am a survivor. So I beleive the feeling of me being a survivor and my Dad & Brother passing away was a way for me to deal with being alive. But I have learned throught he years that I am a SURVIVOR. I can still be happy and live and be guilt free of being alive. I'm doing great and I keep my Dad & Brother in my heart through my life. So, Now I'm here to loose this weight to breath better. I have only one healthy lung. So, Off to loose this weight.

I was on spark people before but left to join weight watchers. Biggest Mistake!!!

So here I go, Nice to meet all of you.

I love to cook and cool all the time, so that isn't the challenge for me. For me it is about incorporating healthier cooking more easily and learning ways of turning some of my family's favorites into healthier dishes.

my goal is to cook at least once this week - not counting reheating in the microwave. My husband recently passed away and I am now cooking for one. Well - I am supposed to be cooking. It hasn't actually happened yet. The most ambitious recipe I've tried in 2 months is bake chick peas - which were quite yum.

Wow, where can I start emoticon
This will be a bit difficult, since I am a still a newly web for almost a year, and I am trying to figure out ways to make dinner time and lunch for the next day, along with dinner the next night too. Going to be a Crazy road to figure out where to start or how to start, but this is my goal:
I will prepare my Husband and I dinner 2 times a week and that includes left overs for lunch the next day and Hopefully dinner too. I will start using my Slow Cooker more Often since we both work 8 hour shifts and came home at the same time.

This is a really hard area for me, so my goals are very basic:

- Plan, pack, and actually eat the lunch I take to work 2 days in the next week.
- Cook a healthy main dish for evening meals once during the week.

The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities. ~Steven Covey

Plans are only good intentions unless they immediately degenerate into hard work. ~Peter Drucker

I think this has been my goal all along. To eat healthier meals & snacks, keeping more fruits, grains, veggies available instead of so much candy, cokes, chips, etc. I still don't plan on completely giving all these treats up, but I can most certainly cut back on them & eat only in moderation. These challenges keep on giving me good incentive & help me to remember what I need to do to make healther eating choices.
