Well I think it is safe to say that we have put some ground between the zombies and us. I believe it's time for us to hijack a cruise ship, and sail away to a deserted island where we can live out the rest of our days exercising, and living healthy away from those brain eating monsters! Congrats to us all on a job well done!!!

We are currently 49,003 minutes away from the horde!! We have been steadily putting distance between us and them all month! Keep up the great work! We may even have time to stop and loot a grocery store for supplies since we have put this much distance between us and them.

But we can't get too cocky! The horde grows every day, and they might be able to catch us due to their sheer size!! Keep rocking that fitness!!

P.S. you can check our progress by scrolling down this page a little bit until you see the box, "Team Stats". Click on "See Category Leaders". That will take you to the Spark Points home page, you will then need to click on "Fitness Leaders", which will announce that we are #2 as long as we keep up on the cardio and ST!!

I just found this challenge & want to join in! I have been logging my cardio but have difficulty with logging strength training. I need to figure that out!

I have been doing water aerobics & strength training. I did a cardio kickboxing class last night!

In some ways I'm really not doing so well on this fitness thing this month! It's just such a busy month. But in others, I'm learning that I can do a lot more non-exercise fitness (like digging ginormous holes to plant trees in). Practical fitness is good, right? ;P

So I'm so proud of myself I ran today outside for the first time in about a month, I know that I wasnt' hydrated but I did my 2 miles in 22:26 not where I want to be, ut a great starting point.

Lastnight I ran on the treadmill for 20mins, walk for another 15 and then the elliptical for 10, since hubby was ready to go home. Tonight I am going to hit the elliptical and the stair masters for about an hour total.

Today was my first day exercising in a long time but I got it done! I worked out to the Crunch Cardio Dance Party DVD and then did an Advanced Mat Workout with 5 different exercises 2 reps each. Slowly but surely I'll get working out into my normal routine.

I have not failed. Ive just found 10,000 ways that dont work. Thomas Edison

Today I played racquetball with my son for 30 min then was on the treadmill for 51 min doing my 5k :) My time is slacking, but I am back in my routine again!!! I need to run faster (walk faster) to outrun the zombies!!!! *we need a zombie emoticon!*

Everyone is doing so awesome!!! I jogged this morning, I was going to improve my 1.67 mile route's time by a minute, so I decided to add a block, and extend the distance. I did 2.03 miles in 33 minutes. My mile per minute time is 16.25 now, which is improving! I'm feeling good, and LOVING my early morning alone time with my dog... even though he tries to trip me when he sees another dog. LOL!!

Keep up the great work!

P.S. we are beating the "Zombies" by 16543 right now!!! ROCK ON TEAM!!

I just wanted to say that while I haven't gotten in as many fitness minutes as I wanted to this month so far, last night I did think that I wasn't going to get in any exercise, then my kids asked for a dance party. So I put my itunes on and we all danced for an hour. And for part of that time, my kids were pretending to be zombies chasing me around. So it fit in perfectly with this challenge and I burned about 520 calories!

Jersey - great job with getting back into things! Zombieland is actually one of the better zombie movies in my opinion, so I would check it out when you get a chance. It's a little corny, but funny.

I love this challenge! I will not be Zombie food! Only have 100 fitness min so far this week but it has been busy, but I will be stepping it up the rest of this week. sounds like fun. well i am not sure cardio is FUN yet, but it sounds like another way to get moving. I am new, but logging my fitness daily. For ST is all I have to do check off the exercises I doing everyday? As long as that is all I need to do, then I am good.

Just to add about the weight training, you can bulk up if you want. Using higher amount of weight with lower reps. If you do not want to bulk, but tone, use a lower weight with higher reps. So ladies, just grab a 5 or 10 pound weight and do 15-18 reps will do a good burn for you.

So in September, we didn't "Beat the Geezers" but as JerseyFlower and Russell37 pointed out - their team is quite a bit larger than ours. We didn't knock them out of first place, but we did move back up into second place, and we are kicking some serious fitness minute tail! We have secured 2nd place by 47,133 minutes in the month of September. I would also like to point out that we are the FITNESS LEADER for 2011. I'm very proud of us!! I would like to keep that fitness momentum going into these cooler... spookier months. What better way than to walk, run, dance, zumba, etc. from Zombies.

As they pointed out in the movie, ZOMBIELAND - Rule #1 is Cardio. So the first of this two part challenge will be to continue to do and log your cardio. Since we left the 40 Somethings team with 50-99 lbs to lose in the dust in September, they were consumed by zombies. Yes. They are now a massive horde of zombies (335K massive). They want to eat your brains. How do you stop them? Continue to do and log your fitness. The goal is to stay ahead of the Zombies, and maybe even put Team 50+ Somethings with 50-99lbs to lose in between us and the Zombie Horde. You don't want to be anywhere near those zombies.. they might turn you into one of them... Unsure of how to log fitness? The second part of this two part challenge will be to add some Strength Training. Ladies - you will not bulk up to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger ("it's not a tumor"). So don't be afraid of Strength Training. It will sculpt and define the muscles you all ready have, and it will bump your metabolism (a pound of muscle burns more calories than a pound of fat), so that you might even be able to eat a bit of Halloween Candy w/o any guilt!!

Every Saturday, I will post a link with some ST Exercises that I SUGGEST will help you to fight off the Zombie Horde if they begin getting too close to us. There will be 6 exercises that I will post links to for you to do and SP recommends that you do them 3x a week. It will be the second "sticky" topic under this one. If you all ready have an ST routine - reply in the thread and tell us how that is going for you. Stay active in this link and talk about how the challenge is going, what you like or dislike about the ST.

Here we go! Make October great!
1. Avoid the Zombie Horde that is a mere 1138 minutes behind us as of right now. Do Cardio - log Cardio!
2. Add ST into your routine (if you haven't all ready).

DON'T BECOME ZOMBIE FOOD!
