Mimi,
That isn't a bad idea. I do something similar for my yearly paperwork, but it could be adapted for short term use. emoticon

I bought years ago at Target an Accordion file folder (24 pockets) Lasts forever.
$12.99 well spend.

By Alphabetical order I put anything I need to keep there for one year.
At the end of the year (coming soon) I only keep what needs to be kept (the rest is shredded) in an envelope with the year outside that envelope.
All I have to do for every year, is just change the year it's for, on the outside of the Accordion file folder.
Make my life much easier, save time and it's more organized.

Just a suggestion

One of my challenges is organization. Going several places in a day which includes travel, and often timing, makes it difficult to make certain I have all of the things I want to take with me.

Once again, I rely on lists. I try to get items prepared ahead and put together according to where they are going. I try and put as many things together as possible. I have even been known to leave myself notes in a prominent place when it comes to food items and such.
These things are helpful, but definitely not foolproof.

Mimi,
I like that idea. Not only is my clutter out of my house, it is re-purposed.

Great advice, Teresa

A friend told me her secret to de-cluttering. Every day she takes for donation only ONE item into a bag.
When the bag gets full, it's time to donate.

I follow her advice and it works very well.

Good morning everyone,

One of my holiday challenges is the belief that my home should be spotless. (Just in case someone might come by) Although the pandemic has changed this I still feel the need to be ready.

There are many things to do, and the extent to which I want my cleaning completed is unrealistic. It becomes overwhelming. I have been trying to set more realistic goals and prioritize what is most important. I make a list, and set a timer and then set off to the first task.
For me, it is important not to get trapped by the details. Just complete the task. If the job isn't perfect, or doesn't get completed, It isn't the end of the world. Soon, my house is in order.

Good morning everyone

WEIGHIN02

Welcome. The journey health (while losing weight and keeping it of) is full of adventures, challenges, fun, and mostly it is healthy for us.
We can improve our health by learning to adopt new healthy habits, of course ONE habit at a time.
Good for you for wanting a better health for yourself.

IRISH

So nice to have you here again. Your persistence in improving your health is admiring.

You asked how it works:
The first habit is learning how to handle stress during the holidays, and how to find better solutions than turning to food (comfort foods) when we're stressed.
Covid brings additional stress in these difficult times, but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
*The article below gives excellent suggestions in handling stress.
Every two weeks we'll start a new healthy habit that we can practice, educate ourselves and therefore get healthier.
We know that once we reach our goal weight, all the good habits that we've acquired, will help us maintain our goal weight. And staying at goal weight brings so many health benefits.
I'll find a great list of these benefits and post it here later.
One step at a time, as one habit at a time, will bring us closer to better health, better life.

Welcome to Healthy Habits!

We encourage you to discuss your progress as you develop, or reinforce some habits which are the foundation of a healthy lifestyle.

It is tempting to put all the good practices in place right away. However, it takes as long as two months before a good habit becomes automatic. Trying to take on more than one will lead to failure.

Someone once wrote, that "habits are like seeds.: A very fitting analogy. Cultivating a habit is like planting the seed. The seed grows at its own pace. It isn't something you can increase the pace or rush through.

Choose a few good "seeds" which fit into your lifestyle, and nurture them one at a time. After two months when the seed has grown into a sturdy young plant, it is time to proceed to the next one. In this manner, you will be assured of a slow, but steady stream of success

Our first healthy habit is to learn ways to effectively handle the additional stressors of the holidays. emoticon emoticon emoticon
