emoticon emoticon The FSC loss was their gain! Our team lost over 130 pounds and to match that loss rice and eggs were donated to feed the children in our ministry that live on the streets, in cemeteries or squatter areas. Thank you to all who participated in this challenge in April and May and thank you, Beverly, for the donation of $1 per pound to purchase the eggs. That is 4 weeks of eggs! Our kids are so happy! These precious children get to enjoy eggs, rice and fresh fruit for breakfast.

The pictures below are of the first week of eggs and rice 25K.

The tally is in and the First Steppers lost a total of 130 pounds for the months of April and May! What an incredible job!

The children in my ministry are gong to be enjoying the rice and eggs donated through this effort. I shall post pictures of the food being delivered. If you make your donation, please add photos. We want to see how our loss was the gain of our communities.

I'll jump in Thursday. I haven't had a weigh-in for a couple weeks.

Weight has been usual for the last few weeks with fluids - medications and hospital stays.

I'll use 285 - which is my last TOPS weigh-in. If my weight this week is higher than that I'll use Thursday's weight as my Starting Weight.

My 2nd day on Spark & I already love this team so much! This is such an awesome idea for a challenge. I'm going to donate to Salvation Army. My home could use some weight loss of it's own- I love the idea of combining the two and helping out a great cause, too. emoticon

What an emoticon idea!!! I will happily participate too. I live in a small town and we don't have a local food bank but there is a state food bank that helps out different pantries and programs around the state and I will donate $1 for every pound lost to them.

I am upping the anti for Lisa's challenge!

As the breakfasts at Lisa's children's feeding program consist of rice and eggs, I will donate a dollar for eggs for every pound lost by the team in the next 2 months!

Team Leader Lisa has an interesting yet rewarding two month challenge for everyone at the FSC.

"I would keep a running total of all the weight our first steppers lose in the challenges. For each pound lost I will donate a pound of rice to our children’s feeding program in honor of our first steppers. Our loss would be their gain. I would post pictures of the actual rice donated so that the First steppers could have a visual of what the pounds look like that they have shed in April and May." -- Lisa



We thought we would take this challenge one step further and encourage all of our First Steppers to post the number of pounds they are losing for April and May and then at the end donate that amount of poundage of food to your local food bank. Or even consider donating that amount of pet food to your local pet shelter. Or possibly that amount of clothes to your local goodwill store or women's shelter. Any donation to charity would be welcomed. How many pounds can the First Steppers lose in two months?
