Here's pictures of mine. It's not me in the dress just pictures I found of it online:

/

I'm going to be adding a black sash to it.

I'm excited to wear it! The funny thing is I've lost about 17lbs since I bought it so it'll need to be altered quite a bit! I had so little confidence in myself and ability to lose weight that I never really expected to have that problem! :)

Found the dress of my dreams - and I know it b/c it's out of my price range, but makes me so happy I'm willing to go for it. Ivory lace over a champagne underlay. Perfect for my Fall wedding in NH :)

This is the dress I am planning on buying... when i first tried it on i was a 16w... two sizes above the "misses" or regular... its also around $100 more when you buy a women's size. i knew i had to drop at least two sizes by feb (my goal to buy). well with some support of my bff I went yesterday and fit in the 14w! one more size to go, then hopefully some alterations!! haha

I chose Maggie Sottero's Harlow for my wedding dress. I absolutely bawled when I put it on, makes me feel very romantic and blessed.

Actually i'm going with an alfred Angelo Dream In Color dress. I absolutely adore it, it looks amazing with my shape, but luckily the boutique I was in had all of the styles and it was easy enough to imagine the proper colors.

I actually want a lot of things for my dress, ie: pick-ups, lace, beading, etc. The one place I found to make my dream dress, custom made and @ a very inexpensive price, is online. I instantly fell in love w/ the dress when I saw it. Check out the link and tell me what you think!

AOGOAE,
There are many stores that will create straps or sleeves to attach to a strapless dress that you like. It will cost a little more, but if that is the only thing holding you back, it would be worth it.

I love Sottero and Midgely! And that is definitely a lovely dress. I'm a huge fan of the bow/decor on the side.

I'm sure that my dress ideas will change as I try on more dresses. There are so many gorgeous dresses out there.

I love the Alfred Angelo!

When I was shopping for my dress, I was convinced I wanted one of their "Dreams in Color" collection dresses with my Victorian lilac color for the accents. However, I went to one shop, and they didn't have most of the styles I wanted to try on. The ones they did have either didn't work with my shape, or they were beautiful but way too heavy for an outdoor spring wedding.

I looked at David's bridal but couldn't find anything I was really crazy about.

Then I started going to slightly more high-end boutiques and really noticed a difference in quality. I had wanted to spend $500 on a dress, but after a while I realized that since I am so picky it just wasn't going to happen.

I looked at Casablanca lace dresses, which is what got me to try on my Sottero and Midgley. I absolutely love it! (Pictures of me in the dress are posted on my profile.)

So I started with Alfred Angelo color dresses, and ended up with something completely different!

Also, about pictures, I never wanted to take a picture of me in a dress until I found the right one. I didn't like the way the others looked on me! My dress shop didn't care, but I think it's because she knew I was going to buy the dress.

Taking pictures - I've had the same issue. Some stores allow it, some don't. I feel like it always turns me off from buying from that store the moment they say that I'm not allowed to take a picture, but I try not to let that affect my decision, haha.

This is the dress that I currently want:
http://alfredangelo.com/Collections/Prod
uctDisplay.aspx?productID=5c4457e9-42f

246401-6ad2-4745-894e-d0dc006d72c8&pg=1&colorId1=

I'm a huge fan of Alfred Angelo! I've checked with a bridal store nearby and they do have it available. Unfortunately, I need to lose at LEAST 2 - 3 inches in my waist area. The wedding isn't for a while, so I think I can manage with losing a few (or more!) inches.

I did not have a problem getting pictures of me in many dresses. I think I had pictures taken of every dress I tried on with the exception of a few as they looked really bad.

Good luck on finding your dress

So, a decision has been made! I tried on the Davinci dress again and wasn't 100% sold on it. I'm going back to try on the Mori Lee again (possibly tonight), and if it's a good as I remember, I'm going to order it!

Has anyone else run into the problem of not being able to take pictures when trying on dresses? Some stores allow it, others say "not until you buy the dress". The two dresses I like are not available in the same store anywhere in Ontario!!! It makes it very difficult to compare when you can't put them side by side!! I ask why and they give me some reason about them being sued if I take the picture to a seamstress to have it made. However, I can clearly go to the manufacturers website and print out a picture of the same dress on a model and have it re-made!! It makes the dress decision a little frustrating when I can't see how they fit on me side by side.

I've posted a picture of me in the Mori Lee dress on my profile. Don't mind the expression, I was talking when my mom took the picture :)

I've got my dress choices narrowed down to 2. I'm going to try on the Davinci one again tonight as the first time I tried it on, the sample was way to big for me and it was hard to judge the fit.

I was so happy when I found my gown I had gotten so sick of trying dresses on and not finding anything that was just perfect and when I saw this one on the davids bridal website in june 09 I knew I had to have it, my mom and grandma went with me to try it on and put it on layaway and all three of us actually agreed on somthing. My MOH is the only one that does not really like it but I dont let her get to me. Now i just trying to lose enough weight to totally look amazing in it OMG I LOVE it. I will try to put a picture of it on my spark page.

I'm getting mine custom-made by LilyWedding.com for only $288 to look like this one:

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt
em
&item=170256405533&ssPageName=STRK:MR>EWAX:IT

But with no train or sash. They only take 3 weeks so I'm waiting till 3 months before the wedding to have them make it, then a month before I'll have a seamstress tailor it for a perfect fit for my new body!

It is the all diamond white color (not the ivory in the picture). I absolutely love the way it looks on me, and the way it feels. A lot of dresses felt like too much dress, and this one is just the right amount.

I also like the way it looks on me better than on the model! It is a corset, and looks great on my curvy body. I'm planning on losing 15 lbs for the wedding, but if I can't no sweat because the dress still looks great!

I love my dress! It should be in sometime in the next week so I can begin my fittings! So excited! It was at the second bridal shop I went to, and once I tried it on, I didn't try on another dress!

I love looking at all the dresses!! I'm picking mine up Friday so hopefully can put some pics up soon. I honestly can't tell you much about it - my friend is giving it to me; she bought it 14 years ago for a wedding that never happened. I remember that I thought it was really stunning, but that's about all I remember! LOL - it will be an adventure, but knowing her taste I have absolutely no doubt that it will be very nice.

Be faithful to that which exists within yourself.

Wow, That dress is absolutely stunning Vampireshorty.

I am going to be designing my own dress. A dear friend of mine has been wanting to sew my wedding dress for years, so that will be her gift to me. I get to design it. Only thing is, I won't even let her measure me until I'm within 10lbs of my goal weight. Right now I'm working on the dress design

When you dream it might come true, so when you dream, dream big.

Hello everyone,
I tried this dress on in the store the day of my birthday and it was too small. I looked in the mirror and just fell in love with this dress. We are getting married in Oct. of 2011 so i still have time to loose the weight. The dress will be white/silver.

This is my dress! I found it the first time I went shopping! Every single dress I tried on after it, I kept comparing to this one. It just has everything I was looking for! We are officially placing the order in December for my 12/4/2010 wedding!

I'm loving looking at everyone's gowns! They are all so beautiful.

My future sister-in-law will actually be making my gown (she offered to do it as a wedding gift; she's an amazing seamstress), but it will be inspired by this Maggie Sottero gown:

This was the third dress I tried on. While on the hanger and in the bag, it just seemed kinda blahh. But this dress fits the best, feels the best, and makes me look the best!! So therefore, its the best!

It's on order now and should be here late October. Get ready to feast your eyes lol!!

After finally venturing out to find some potential bridal shops, I ended up walking into Davids Bridal to just look around. I was already planning on going there anyways to try on dresses. As soon as I walked in I saw the dress on a manniquin right in the front of the store. I had a grin from ear to ear. I made an appt for two days later to try on the dress and I bought it lol. Things like this always happen to me, here is the link....

Found mine at a shop I wasn't ever expecting to go into. I thought all they did was prom dresses.

It was the very last dress I tried on.

I tried on a few gowns, some pictures are up on my spark blog. I haven't found 'the one' yet, but I have three appointments at three different bridal salons this week. Yikes... the #1 problem is, I want sleeves! I don't understand what I'm supposed to do with a strapless dress in a Catholic church, argh!
