Your challenge for the weekend is to get 8 hours of sleep every night this weekend! I'm still up at 4:30 am finishing a paper - a cautionary tale against procrastination! Enjoy your zzzz's and have a good weekend! emoticon

I didn't get a chance to do the challenge because of the rain, but I will keep it on my list to do another time. I have taken a tour of the nearest city, but I never strolled around my own town =)

Today's challenge is to go sight seeing in your hometown. How many of us never do any of the touristy things because we live there and think we'll do it later? It's a great way to learn your city's history and get a good cardio workout in walking all over town!

1) I have more energy
2) I have made much stronger commitment to live a healthy lifestyle rather than "just lose weight"
3) I finally have a clear understanding of why I want to lose weight and be healthier
4) I have been able to see myself more clearly. I always felt like I weighed so much less than what I do, and that made me so much less careful about how I took care of myself.
5) I have so much more confidence!

Try one more step and you'll be closer than before. (ippo)

I managed to do the crunchless abs video on Friday and Saturday, but didn't get a chance on Sunday. It was a crazy Easter, but good! Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday!! Now to think of something I wouldn't have done before....

I hope you all had a good Easter! Now time to work off all those chocolate bunnies! Today's challenge is to do something you never would have thought you'd do before you started your weight loss journey. Go for a jog, start a vegetarian/vegan diet, do push-ups - you may be surprised how enjoyable this activity is!

The challenge for this weekend is to do a spark workout video Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Since it's Easter weekend, it will be hard to find time to exercise so get your workout in with a quick 10 minute video. You can do the same one each day, or change it up every day - just make sure to keep moving!

I'm at the gym 5 days a week. I do ST 3 days and cardio at least 2. If I can make it to the gym twice, I will get in extra cardio sessions. I recently started the C25K, so I'm getting that in on ST days instead of going to the gym for a second time. I was doing kickboxing and I absolutely loved it, but I think I need to quit that gym now. It's driving me a little crazy. Going to join a less expensive gym that actually opens every morning so I don't have to worry about missing a workout!!!

I use to pretty much stick with walking the dog and a tiny bit of weight lifting before bed in my room... I knew I wasn't getting enough exercise and so a little over a week ago I joined a gym. I spend a little over an hour there at least 4X a week. I signed up for a year long contract with monthly payments. I don't have much money to spare on a gym membership so having to really watch what I spend to keep up with the payments in a real motivator. Plus know I'm in it for a year, I'm so much more likely to develop some good habits! I have mostly done cardio while I'm there but the last visit or two I have been starting to do a little strenght training as well.

Try one more step and you'll be closer than before. (ippo)

I am running. I am training for a marathon. Usually runners have a tough time loosing weight. But I have a severe food allergy. No wheat products of any kind. Wheat, rye, barley. I can only eat certified Gluten Free oats, so I tend to avoid those too. I have replaced my breads and cereals with freggies. Overkill on the freggies, and lean meats and watch the weight come off when I run. I have to be careful though. I struggle to get enough carbs and protein at times.

Trac- Not sure what you prefer, but give the Campbell's Select Harvest- Tomato Garden a try. It is packed full of flavor from the tomato juice and the noodles are yummy too. Its a great lunch choice!

For relaxation, I love listening to hemi-sync. It's aural meditation music. It's a bit hippy dippy, but it mellows me out.

Hello!
Not new to Done girls, but been away dealing with a sick father, he's on the mend and I look forward to these challenges to get me involved again!

Hmmm... what to pamper myself with.. can't take a lazy day, I've been roped into a kickboxing class tonight. Eep!

Ah... a nice HOT bath after class. Complete with the "creepy mask" as my hubs calls it and bath salts!

I like following my own diet planner. Most mornings I wake and have a Chobani Yogurt (something I didn't like the first time I tried it, but have grown to like it). It has a high level of protein so it keeps me full for the better part of the morning. Then for lunch I usually have a salad, or a sandwich, and sometimes left-overs from the night before, just depends on what I have around and what I am craving. Dinner is usually chicken or fish and veggies, with a side of potatoes or rice. Dinner is probably my hardest meal. I am currently living with my grandmother, helping her out and she is an amazing cook, and obviously doesn't believe in making it healthier. She loves cooking, which is great, but when trying to watch my weight, it can make things a little more tricky!

Usually I get to the store on Sundays and then pack good stuff for the week for lunch and then supplement dinner with veggies and fruits (my mom tends to stick to protein and carbs only, or sometimes carbs only) but this week has been so hectic. Today I bought lunch in the cafeteria at work. Had chicken fingers for protein, but they didn't have a good veggie option other than the expensive salad bar. For dinner I'm going out with friends, so I'm thinking of ordering a salad to make up for the lack of veggies at lunch =)

Today? Lost of freggies. I have packed 3 types of salads, and have 4 pieces of fruit at work for lunch/snacks. Don't think I'll be going out for lunch today. Room mate is away working, so might as well stay here.

Supper? We decide when the time comes. It usually involved grilled chicken for me right now. Fishing is not so good, so no fish right now. Maybe in another month or so.

Today I'm gonna have to watch to make sure I get enough protein in. Usually that's not a problem, but no eggs to add to my salads.

Good morning everyone! I create my own meals. Today was a slim fast for breakfast (helps me get all my nutrients in and I can drink it on the way to work!) Usually I pack a healthy lunch or sometimes grab a salad somewhere or subway. I track everything on my SP tracker throughout the day, and I usually look at how many cals i have left before deciding on dinner. But it usually involves some type of meat (or meat substitute like morningstar farms), veggies, and maybe some cottage cheese.

I'm going with my challenge for the week and doing ST three days and cardio for at least 4!!!
So here's the plan :
Monday - ST in the AM (check!), kickboxing class after work
Tuesday - cardio in the AM (probably spin bike cause I can sit after kickboxin class =))
Wednesday - ST in the AM - day off from cardio, but if it's nice I might take the dog for a walk
Thursday - cardio in the AM (elliptical?)
Friday - cardio in the AM and ST with trainer after work
Saturday - I'd like to get in a Jillian Michaels DVD (which is kinda both)

My update on the weekend challenge: Saturday I cleaned my entire house. Then Sunday (after a 90 min spinning class) I cleaned out/changed out my closets for spring. I ended up donating 4 trash bags full of clothes! Felt great to get rid of stuff that was just taking up space!

For this weekly challenge I plan to strength train on Tuesday and Saturday, spinning on Thursday and Sunday. Wednesday is usually yoga, but I have something going on that night and have to miss.

Have a great week ladies!!

Thanks for the feedback everyone - I really appreciate it!

emoticon Challenge for 4 April:
Today, make an exercise plan for the week and share it with the rest of us. I've found making a plan (and sticking to it!) makes it easier for me to exercise when my motivation is running low.

I think just about everyone has that dreaded closet or attic full of forgotten stuff. One suggestion I heard from a house clearing show - Get three boxes to sort items: One for donations, one for items you are keeping and one box to place the things you are going to discard. Do just one area at a time, so you will stay focused. One drawer, closet, garage, or shed at a time and it will be much easier to handle. Time to move out your big clothes and make room for the smaller ones!

It just so happens that all the junk I have gathered up from my closets and garage are being hauled to a giant garage sale today -- how's that for Spring Cleaning?

As far as the challenges go, I like the idea of discussion based challenges because that is one area that I am not very active on this site and I am losing some of the community assets as a result. Thanks for polling us!

Ooooh, I'm all about spring cleaning. No matter what time of year! I always feel like I have too much stuff. Thanks for the challenge/idea!
I also like challenges like this. I already do a lot of fitness-based challenges, so it's nice to mix it up.

Great Idea! I did the mopping and stuff a couple of weeks ago when we had a faux spring for a couple days but I could really declutter my closets! Let's get it DONE!

I will do one thing today to make my life better.

My goal is to put away the clean laundry that is taking over my room. There's a lot and I need to do a little each day this week.

I really like the challenges I think variety is good weather it be fitness, nutrition or general goal setting each week.

Hey girls!

My goal is going to be to hang the shelves that were delievered last week, and the curtains I bought almost 3 weeks ago.

I can't wait to get to know you all!

This challenge fits my life great right now. I have just moved into this house from out of state. I need to paint, and do some major spring cleaning ie carpet shampooing, dusting, reorganizing shelves, and office.

insanity is: Doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result.

This is great, I need to clean my house and go through my closets. Woohoo springtime!!

I like any goal-based type challenge, whether it be a lbs goal, or workout X amount of times, or something like that. And of course everybody will set their goal of what they want to do.

emoticon Hello lovely DONE ladies! I can't believe it's already April! Where does the time go?! The weekend challenge for this week is to get some Spring Cleaning done. Clean out the attic or garage, vacuum or sweep/mop the entire house, clean out gutters - whatever needs done!
In addition to that, I would love some feedback on the thread. Would you like more fitness based challenges, more discussion based challenges, support challenges, or is there something you want to see that I haven't thought of? Those of you who are just joining us, what do you want to get out of this thread? I'm doing this for all of you so feel free to post suggestions on here or send me a message anytime!
