Just completed W6D3 today. Did the whole 25 min. But just realized that im not doing 2.5 miles. My speed is at 6.0 on threadmill and this just about covers 1.8 miles. Does this mean i have to redo my speeds until i can cover 2.25miles in the 25min?

W6D2 in the books -- WOOHOO!!! I can safely say that I absolutely prefer running outdoors to the Dreadmill. The only downside is that I have NO idea how fast/slow I am going. But I did it! I'm a little nervous about W6D3 since I ended up doing the last long-haul run (W5D3) on the treadmill, but all I can do is just suck it up and push through it, right? I am just LOVING this!

W6D1 last night for me...was forced to use the Dreadmill unfortunately. I did use a 10% incline, but I think I did too much too soon since I just did my 20-minute W5D3 run the day before. I struggled pretty badly toward the end and felt a little tweak behind my right ankle. NOT good. Thankfully, I only had about a minute or so left, so I finished the run, went right home and elevated my foot. I'm definitely going to take it easy today in BodyWorks class; hopefully it will be OK to run tomorrow, but if not I always have Sunday.

W6D1 last night. My fastest time yet. Which is still slow but just goes to show that I'm getting better. I was never fast even in my prime. I can't believe tomorrow's run will be the last with any walking. WooHoo!

I also just realized that I will be finishing up this program right in time for the Spark Virtual 5K. Perfect timing.

Keep on running!!!

Completed Day 2 today! For some reason, though, I thought that the walking interval was supposed to be 5 minutes instead of 3. I'm not happy that I took the extra two minutes, but I did the full 10 minute runs, so I think it still counts as having completed the run. Looking forward to the 25 minutes on Tuesday...depending on the weather, I may even try to run outside!

hello, Week 6! I had a week off from running while I was on vacation (although I certainly did a LOT of walking!), so today was day 1. It went well, but I'm ready for this week to be over so we don't have any walking intervals anymore. Also, I registered for a 5k today. April 16th!

Week 6 was laid to waste this morning. Last half of my run reminded me of stories my dad used to tell about having to walk to school... "uphil, into the wind, snow blowing in my face." At least I wasn't 'barefoot,' right?

Onto week 7!

The intervals in this week were much harder than the long run. Why IS that? I wonder if it's because I pace myself better on a long run. Regardless, I'm really proud of myself and ready for week 7. emoticon

Did you get out today? Make it 25? I'm liking not having to think about the intervals... and just running. It's kind of nice! (Never thought I'd say that!!!)

Thanks MyTime! I did w6d3 tonight - not exactly my best. Had to stop at 20 but I'm still in awe about how far I've come since week 1! I'm looking forward to camping out at 25 minutes for awhile.

I finished wk6, day 2 yesterday and it was tough for some reason. I had to stop during the 2nd 10 min run because I just didn't feel good. I ate a big meal too close to my running. I am also at a point where I want to hurry up and finish the whole couch to 5k thing and just run normally...ugh!

Not sure, but it does not do intervals much longer. Starting on W6D3, it is all straight runs and no intervals. Enjoy them while they are there! LOL. I am sure you can do it your way too....makes sense!

I finished W6D2 today. I had some issues with shin splints so it was a struggle. I had to walk 4 minutes in btwn runs instead of 3, but I ran both 10 minute segments. I plan on redoing this day on Friday or Saturday and then will proceed from there.

Hey all! I have a question. Does anyone know why on W6D1 the runs go from 20 minutes in Week 5 back to intervals? I would think it almost makes more sense to go 20 min.., then 21 min. , then 22 min., 23 min, etc. etc. ????

Completed W6D1 outside. It was a wonderful morning and it was great seeing all these folks running outside. Very motivating. I am going to try to run outside more often.

Ran W6D3 today, and it was...a thing. I'm in Vancouver, BC visiting my boyfriend so I was in an unfamiliar neighborhood, but fortunately it has really good sidewalks. It was raining pretty hard and I was soaked in about five minutes, but I pushed on. I managed to go the full 25 minutes without stopping, even though I got close a few times. My breathing was really solid this run, my legs were just tired. I think I need to do some extra calf stretches before my runs and that might help.

When I got back my boyfriend made us a wonderful brunch, and later I'm going to make him rub my feet. :D

I start W7 on Monday, and might even take the boyfriend along with me. Congrats DHIAMBI, see you in W7!

Finished W6D2 on 2/8 and I owe it to FATTOPHAT2. I was so tired & kept on procrastinating and then I saw your post and I was out the door even though it was night and rather late. The last 10 minutes felt like it went on and on. Just when I thought I would quit, the 10 minutes came to an end. Thanks for all those that are posting their progress. It serves as a motivation to all of us. We can do it emoticon

Way to go THECHAUFFEUR
I will be rooting for you as you run on your vacation and waiting for the post. You will be fine. Make sure you do it so that we can go on to W7 together. Yes, I seem to be taking to running like a fish to water :-) I am actually pleasantly surprised. I had knee surgery a while back & had been told I could not run again, but lo and behold, here I am.
Everyone else, great job on making it this far and the consistent posting. I know I look forward to reading how everyone else is doing and I draw motivation from the posts. emoticon

Ran W6D1 today, and am glad that I finally seem to be over the worst of my cold. in the first five minute run I was really tired for some reason, but by the end I felt totally fine. Running W6D2 with my partner BETSYTIME on Wednesday, then Friday I'm going to be on vacation in Vancouver, BC for my W6D3 run. Nervous about the change in location for my run, but won't let it stop me from trying my hardest! If I have to run up and down the block over and over I don't care, I'm going to do it!

Congrats DHIAMBI on following through with your run even though your day got away from you! You seem to be taking to running like a fish to water. :]

Did W6D1 on Sunday, 2/6 at 10:30 PM. I was so tired in the morning & then got busy & somehow the day went by & I was not sure that I was going to do it. I feel a sense of accountability just posting my progress & seeing all the other posts was enough to get me out to do it. I felt strong all through out and even added some extra runs. I feel so great and like a runner. D2 is on Tuesday & looking forward to it.
SLIM242, I do use a knee band when running. I currently use Wellgate Gel-Comfort Knee Support. In the past I have used Pro-Tec IT Band Compression and the knee band. What kind of surface do you run on? There are a # of factors that could contribute to the knee pain. Let me know if I can be of any help.
Everyone else, great job on the progress and all the tips.

Missed posting for day 2 but did it fairly easily on Thursday. Today did day 3 and even though I accidentally pulled out the emergency stop on the treadmill (threw me off my pace and screwed up my measurements) I still did the whole run fairly easily. Ready for week 7!!

Finished Week 6 Day 1 on Saturday. I don't think I went this far the first time through the C25K program. Once I had done the end of week 5 I was pretty sure I could complete my 5k so I stopped. This time I'm going through it...my goal is to be able to run 5K, 3 days a week as part of my exercise program. Really dreading Day 3...somehow the intervals seem less daunting to me.

I don't think I've updated around here since Week 3, but I finished Week 6 this morning! I'm loving it and feeling like I could do anything. Good luck to all of you.
