W6D2. Holy hell that was hard and I was totally unmotivated. I did a 10 min. warm-up, ran for 10 min. and then walked, and walked and walked. Just could not convince myself that I wanted to run for another 10 minutes. So I didn’t. I’m going to give it another try tomorrow. Hopefully since the workout will be later in the morning, it will help.

w6r2 done! Not as freaked about this week;s long run as I was last week. I already know I can do 20 minutes, whereas last week was a big jump from 8 to 20.

W6d2 or sorta day 3. I am worried about D3 so I ran the full 25 minutes with a teensy break in the middle. That was pretty dang hard. I can't wait to know that I can do this. It still really hard for me to run more than 10 or 12 minutes without a wee break. I can do 15, but I am hoping that some magic lung power appears soon!

Good for us. This is commitment and it sure isn't easy.

I skipped W6D1 and went on to W6D2. Last night, I completed W6D3 and ran 25 minutes straight for the first time in my life! I was really hoping to make it 2 miles in that 25 minutes, but I only made it 1.7 miles. Still very proud of myself! See you all in week 7!!

So I oopsed today, hit the wrong track, and ended up skipping day 2 and going straight to day 3. I was partway through when I realized what happened, so I figured I'd just keep going. Hooray!

Did W6D1 on Monday, and have the next 2 to go. Surprisingly, I'm not as worried about D3 for this week as I was week 5. We'll see how it goes. :)

Finished Day 3 yesterday, had to do it twice since I had hurt my shin (just accident prone). But I was able to finish the second time around, moving on to Week 7 tomorrow! Good luck everybody and don't forget to stretch!

I did w6d2 today. I forgot that the second running interval was going to be 8 min. So it came as a bit off a shock as I started, since I was not mentally prepared. I made to the other die alive and will move forward to day two.

I did W6D2 on Wednesday. I missed my run scheduled on Friday so I ended up going today. I decided to repeat D2, and I couldn't do it! I think I'm going to backtrack to Week 5 so I can be better transitioned as I move into the tougher weeks.

All right week 6!!! I have already completed this as you can see, but I took off a week. I did a 5K about a week ago and I had finals. I was buried in the library so running was out. So I'm stepping back a week and restarting the program. Good luck this week everybody!!

I usually average about a 15 min/mile myself and I always want to be faster and yesterday I was a 13 min/mile. I don't know if I can do it all the time but it is happening more and more often. Just keep going and you will be faster before you know it.

Finished Week 6 today. It was challenging since we're on vacation and the desire to stay in bed is strong! lol I'm still running only a 15 min/mile pace. I really want to get faster. Gonna keep working on it! 3 more weeks of the program!

D2 down for me awesome run and the dog that usually jumps on me did not and it is very wet out so that is a good thing. I am looking forward to D3.

I was supposed to finish Week 6 last week, but due to schedule problems, I'm still on Day 2. Hubby and I are on vacation in Chicago. I'm still running, but I had to jump back to Week 1 so that he could go with me. It's not bad. I can tell that I'm a lot faster now. :D

Thanks BRSCLS! I was really upset about this for a while. I live in an alotment and this route does work for me the best. Hopefully there won't be any more problems. I am excited that I was able to do this run! Moving on to week 7.

Oh my that was not nice no one can tell you what roads you can run on. I would keep running by there if that route works for you. Woo hoo on finishing W6 though don't let anyway take the wind out of your sails because that is an awesome accomplishment!

I did it!! I finished week 6 and ended up jogging 1.73 miles. Not the fastest runner in the world but I did it. I was feeling pretty terrific UNTIL, on my way back to the house, I got cussed out and yelled at by some lady. I jogged past her house on the road four times during my run. She has four large dogs inside the house who look out the door and bark at me everytime. I don't so much as look at them, but today she told me I was stupid for bothering her dogs and called me some pretty mean names. I tried to keep my cool and not get upset. I did tell her that I was not on her property and she did not own the road. Anyway, it kind of took the wind out of my sails.

Boo! I haven't got to do week 6, day 3 yet. Between the rain, my 6 year old being home on spring break, Easter, and my husband's birthday, it just hasn't happened yet. Hopefully tomorrow morning I can get it done. I'm a little nervous now though because it's been since last Wednesday since I ran.

Hi - I'm new to this forum; great to find you! I am gearing up for W6D3 later today and am terrified. I just realized that I skipped W5D3 (subconciously intentionally - ???), so this will be my single longest run. W6D2 was really hard and I can't imagine removing the 3 minute walk in the middle. Since I didn't do W5D3, I'm not sure if I should do 20 or 25 minutes this time. I guess I'll aim for 25 and see what happens.

Thanks for the encouragement. I did the 20 min run....I don't know why I think I can't do it. I'm going to give it my all. I'm going to re-do W6D2 tomorrow & then I'll do the D3 probably Mon. I've just got to quit telling myself that I can't do it & KNOW that I CAN!!

Hey twinpower you did the 20 min all the way through. You can do this too. You just have to hold on for 5 min longer. If you feel like you can't then walk the last five minutes, but I really really think you can. You've been training for it. Good luck hun emoticon

I did week 6 day 2 today & had to stop half way through the 2nd 10 min jog. I finished but I'm disappointed that I stopped. Just got so hot & thirsty. I'm not feeling good about day 3 & next week. It gets super tough from here. I've got a mental block that I'm not capable of doing it. Need to get past this & JUST DO IT!!

W6D1 was difficult for me just because I just didn't have the motivation. I did however have a great run once I got started. It's that getting started factor this morn that I was struggling with. Anywho day 1 is done.

Did week 6, day 2 today. Today I was a little down and my legs hurt from doing the Shred yesterday. It's really cold and damp outside and I just didn't want to do this run today. But at the last minute I grabbed my stuff, bundled up and went out. So glad that I did!

I finished week 6 this morning! My distance was 2 miles in the 25 mins (I did the 5 min warm up before that and then I walk after to cool down), so not as fast, but I made it. I am so proud of myself!

We started Week 6 on Monday but keep delaying day 2! We were going to do it yesterday morning, but then decided since we weren't doing day 3 till Saturday, we'd do it today. But then we got in late from the theater last night and were too tired this morning to do it, so now that leaves after work today, but we have to pack to leave for DC at like 5am tomorrow, so I have a feeling it's not going to happen! Eek!

W6D1 done. But for some reason I found it harder than the long run of week 5. I wonder if it was because I didn't have a cup of coffee an hr before. I did that on the long run. Well, either way, got through it.

Finished Day 2 today. After the cool down, I started doing one minute jog, one minute walk intervals to finish out 3.1 miles. This brought my time down by 5 whole minutes. I want to try to do a whole 3.1 on and off see how it goes, see what time I get. I got a 5k coming up May 7th and I want to beat my March 5th time by at least 5 minutes.
Hope everyone is having a great week!

I'm excited to start week 6 today. After completing week 5, I am confident in my ability to finish the program. As for the time vs. distance thing, I calculated how long it would take me to run a 5k at my current pace, and increased the times in weeks 7-9 so that by the end of the program I would be running an entire 5k.

Hi, all! The DH and I start Week 6 tomorrow - looks like a nice morning for a run! 52 and clear, for once. Can't wait for true spring to hit the 'Burgh!

Day 1 is off the books emoticon
After Wednesday's outside run, I now know that running outdoors is not as much of a power of wills as the treadmill seems to be. On the treadmill I feel like I am spending the whole time just waiting on the minutes to pass. Outside, I was just proud to actually be outside and when I finished that 20 minutes I was in bliss.
I am not worried about speed right now. Right now I just want to build endurance, which I soooo am. 6 weeks ago I was praying to make it through 1 minute, now look. Speed will come in time.
Hope you guys have a great weekend!

So long, Week Six!!! Don't take it personally, but I'm glad I kicked your booty. That 25-minute run felt fantastic today! I'm so excited to be out of intervals and concentrating on real running now. Oh my gosh, I'm almost a runner!!!

The way I read the program, you can go by time OR distance. If you can do both, that's awesome! Me, I'm definitely not running a 10-minute mile (which is what those time/distance measurements are based off of). I'd be stuck in Week 1 if I was doing that! I'm just working on my time first, and then I might go back to Week 1 after I complete the program once to start working on speed.
