My Appologies for not weighing in on time, I was out of town at a bonspiel.. Curtis' team placed 6th over all very good for a young team.

Anyway I am happy to say I exceeded my October goal by 1 pound, and lost 10 lbs during the challenge....

I am also proud to say that I am down 25 lbs since September 1st. It was a lot of hard work thats for sure, but its finally starting to pay off.

My november goal is to work on increasing my cardio!

I am sorry that I didn't weigh in on time, but I actually was able to drop down 3 pounds from last week. I hope I am able to keep up the momentum into next month. Good job team!

OK Buccaneers!!! The Cats lost 77.90 lbs this month, for a total of 2.12% of their total weight lost. The Pumpkins lost 2.10%, and a total of 78.20 lbs. And the Buccaneers lost 1.08% and a total of 34.70 lbs. So the cats managed to pop into the lead by .02% The big winner this month is a pumpkins member, Bicngillette! She has lost 6.61% of her weight this month, for a total of 23 lbs lost!!!!!! Please stop by her page and give her some love!!! and then find a friendly cat and show them some love with a goodie. Thanks for a great month everyone!

Sorry for my silence of late I just haven't been able to shake this dang cold. Its left me exhausted, and we are in the middle of a kitchen reno. (But that is a whole other story on its own)

How's everyone doing? Ready for the weigh in on Friday? I'm not sure that I am but I'm doing everything I can to make it a good one. The alarm went off at 4:00 this morning and I was laying there thinking that if those people on the Biggest Loser can run 10 miles, then I sure as Heck can get up and get on the treadmill for 30 minutes. So that's exactly what I did! And I even jogged for 15 of it!!

Okay, we are on the last week of the October challenge and here is how successful I was with my goals:

1)veggies, emoticon not so great, I'm still only getting maybe one serving in each day
2)walking emoticon success here! I've been doing 45-60 minutes 5 days a week and it is paying off
3)snacking has been cut, not as much junk is being bought, emoticon so a success here as well emoticon

That gives me two out of three completed goals for the month of October PLUS the bonus of having my scale move from 165.6 to 159.6, final weigh in is on Friday and I am striving for an even lower number to end the month with.

ooh, I was also successful with the ab workout in the morning, I have exceeded my goal of 300 and am up to 955 as of this morning

Hi All,

How is everyone doing this weekend? I am doing all right could be better though. I am frustrated that after being sick I can't do all the things I was able to before yet. I still get tired easily.

I know its important to look after my health though so I am continueing on with my healthy eating. I have a treat once a week, this week was some chocolate covered almonds. Oh they were so good. Thankfully they are something I can buy in bulk here and I only bought 10 I still have 3 left for today sometime. If I feel like it of course.

Okay, so no gain no loss but I can live with that since I had familly visiting for 3 out of the 7 days. It will be a better week this week and has already started off that way. Hit the gym this morning and did 30 on the treadmill and 30 on the eliptical. I am alo on trach with my diet today. I will have a loss next week!!!

Good morning all you wonderful Buccaneers. I am having such a hard time getting the scale to move. I need to find the time to start working out again and stop accepting invitations to go out to lunch and dinner. It is too hard to find healthy choices and stick with them when you go out. I will keep reading the message board and gaining inspiration and strength from you wonderful team mates. We have 11 days to show the other teams what we're made of!

HI BB's,

Just cheking in. I haven't made my goal this week about being active on the site everyday. That's due to family coming to visit on Friday and they just left this morning. I think that I stayed pretty well within my calorie range though and I managed to get in a 40 minute walk yesterday. I guess we'll find out on Tuesay how well I actually did though!

180.2 on the 11th...today I am at an even 176. If I wouldn't have had teeth pulled and had to eat soft foods, I'd probably be at 178. But I'll take what the scale says I am. =)

I am not sure I will be much help in the weightloss department as I lost 15 in September but I will step up my game in the next couple of weeks.

One thing I have learned is that this is truly a no-excuses journey. We need to give 100 % for 99% of the time to get the results we want.

uh oh emoticon I'm guilty of not being able to add any weight loss, I've been stuck since we started...I have increased my walking per doctors orders and have been consistent each day this week. I've been doing my abs each morning...and, this is the big one...I have cut down on my snacking, which is huge!! I am hoping that I see success at the scale this weekend! Come on Buccaneers, we can do this!! emoticon

OK Buccaneers....we are like WAY in last place....the pumpkins are out in first having lost 45 lbs this month, the black team has lost almost 31 and we are trailing with 15. LET'S STEP IT UP - WORKOUT HARDER AND PUT DOWN THE FOOD!!!(this includes me :( )

As Jillian Michaels would say "I'm gonna slap that fork right out of your hand!!"

And be sure to weigh in if you haven't already: weigh in days are supposed to be Tuesdays and we need your start weight in addition to current weight so we can see how much you've lost as well as turn it into a percentage of total weight loss, so we must have your START WEIGHT for the beginning of the month...

Ditto on the doctors scale...mine is about 3 pounds higher too...I use a WW scale at home for the weekends that I do not go to WW and it is only about 1 pound off, so I use that as my guide.
Ditto on the body thing, too...I have such a hard time loving my body right now, it is too frumpy!! But...I am making changes to improve that and one day will be very happy with the results...I got in about 45 minutes of walking yesterday along with my abs. My goal is to get in 60 minutes of walking today and I have already done my abs before work...it is so wonderful to have support from each other on this site and to see that we all share similar issues/struggles...Lets Go Buccaneers!! Keep up the good spirits, we can do this together!! emoticon

I hope you have a great weigh in at the doctor's office. I hate getting on the scale at mine because it weighs heavier than mine does! I went yesterday and I just wanted to shout "I JUST WEGHED ON MINE AND IT WAS 3 LBS LIGHTER!" LOL. And you're absolutely right. It is extremely hard to love our bodies. That is the one thing that I really need to work on. Good luck today! I'll be thinking about ya.

That was not a novel, Trish, but some much needed reinforcement and reminders. We DO need to shake things up a bit and confuse our metabolism once in a while. And I LOVE how you put it - you were frustrated with your body, but then realized that you are OK......this should be my mantra....and it's SOoO hard to do (WHY is it soooo hard to do, to love our bodies and trust ourselves). ANyhoooo, my weigh in is tomorrow at the doc, I don't have a scale at home and was in San Fran last week, so I'll be posting a weigh in tomorrow......wish me luck!!!

Hi Everyone,

First off let me say GREAT EFFORT by everyone! I myself maintained this week. At first I was very disappointed in myself, then I was very frustrated with my body. Then I realized that I AM ok!

If you were in the September Challenge like I was, it might be time to change some of your eats, or your work out habits! Your body can get used to things very quicky.

If you were not in the challenge take a look at your loss to date, The same with the previous challenge could apply to you as well.

Have you lost enough weight to redo your menu or calories? Sometimes our bodies are just like.. *WHOA BACK DUDE!* they are just as freaked of the changes as we are!

Hang in there and no looking down, we can only move forward from here!

Lets go team! I am so proud of all of us :)

Keep up the amazing work and team spirit!

Well, tonight I tackled the treadmill again (60 minutes). But this time I set it to hills instead of just keeping it on manual. What a difference just that adjusment made! Talk about a sweatfest! I'm glad I opted to use my treadmill rather than go to the gym tonight. emoticon

My scale stayed the same again....165.6...met with doctor on Friday and I have to increase my walking from 30 to 60 minutes. I am also now on a low dose medication to curb my appetite. Hopefully the combination will have success at the scale this week!
I did zero exercise over the weekend, but will walk today and for sure get abs in tonite. I have to check what we need to do for the challenge today. Happy Monday!!

Thanks for the encoauragement and you are absolutely right!! After being on here last night I got my butt up and went down to my treadmill and walked for 1hour nad 45minutes!!

Renee- stay consistent on the board and it's amazing how much better you will do (at least it's true for me)....and if you stay totally committed to eating well and working out consistently....you will look fabulous in 6 weeks!! Jillian Michaels 30 day shred video is difficult, but if you do it every day for 30 days, you will lose inches for sure - and it's only 20 minutes long. Good luck!!!

yes thankfully food is okay and going well!

We are just painting, fixing the ceiling (We had a leak last year and replaced the roof) and putting in new flooring. We were going to do new cabinets but we live in an older house and wanted to keep some of the oldness there lol.

How are all our canadians dealing with thanksgiving weekend?

Hello everyone!

I've been a little absent lately and I really need to be more consistent. I do find that when I'm not posting as much that I start to stray. I will make a conscious effort to be more active in the upcoming weeks. I found out today that on Nov. 22nd my niece is being baptized and that my husband and I are going to be the godparents. I'm really excited and at the same time dreading it because of the pictures that will be taken. I need to hit it hard for next six weeks and maybe they won't be so bad. Keep up the good work everyone!!

Thanks, Trish!!!! :) Big hug back. Kitchen renovations are brutal...but so worth it in the end!! Are you still able to access healthy food out of the fridge or are you forced to go out? Yikes.

Sounds like the Brown team is doing great!! Isn't is so true that Spark support is incredibly helpful and important. I cannot put into words how much I missed being on the boards everyday.....but I thought about you guys and logged on as soon as I came home. I even turned a bunch of people on to sparkpeople at the conference!!! I hope they really do give it a whirl, because having these teams and the message boards really opens you up to friends on the same challenging (but rewarding) journey as you!!! 24/7 no less!!

Thanks for motivating everyone Trish....sorry I was gone.

Anyhoooo....I used the hotel gym and ran 2 miles everyday, then woke up early this morning and went straight to the gym. Ate pretty well also, only 1 really fantastically indulgent dinner. You gotta live, right. Now I am definitely fasting until Tuesday's weigh in LOL....

Sometimes its not about the weight we lose but the lessons we learn. Often times in my journey I have found those to be the most important part. I think by striving to move forward and working out instead of binging it shows me you are on the right path, and headed for a wonderous and healthier future.

Hmm 30 min cardio done for the day. It has only been a month since I started working out super seriously but I am already seeing a difference. When I used to play tennis regularly earlier my skin was always good..then it all stopped and I was battling with the more than occasional zits. However, now that I am back to exercising my skin feels flawless. Guess working out has more benefits than just losing weight. I am motivated!

oooh, I have dropped the ball. I did not do the 10 minute exercise the other night, or the 15 minute strength training last night.
I did do 45 ab crunches and 7 pushups last night, walked about 20 minutes yesterday.
Today is nasty windy and I have to walk across campus to meet a friend for lunch. So at least I will get a good walk in today...and I already have 30 ab crunches in this morning...Happy Friday!! emoticon

Your right your anniversary only comes around once a year ;) thats a good thing. Somethings you can do, is to figure out the extra calories ect you had and work on working it off over the next few days, or share a meal or desert with your beloved :)

Hi all!

Stuck to my calorie range today and I'll be on the treadmill tonight for an hour while I watch Grey's anatomy(yes, I am an addict of the show). Went to dinner last night for our wedding anniversary and it was DEEELICIOUS! I knew that I shouldn't be eating what I was. But, then again it does only come along once a year.

I did my walk yesterday, crunches in the morning and evening emoticon and threw in an extra five pushups just for fun emoticon LOL
I am going out to lunch today, so will get in a walk across campus.
I didn't get my crunches in this morning, ran out of time, so will have to be sure and do them tonite.

I did a 30 minutes lower body workout DVD instead of 30 minutes cardio last night. I also walked 45 minutes yesterday. I will walk 30 minutes today and do a 15 minutes DVD instead of the 10 minute Spark Video (we have dialup at home...)
