I start the day with a glass of warm water before anything else. When I do that, I usually reach eight glasses before or with lunch. If I don't start, I may not have that first glass until midmorning and then it feels rather breakneck to get it all in before bed!

keep bottles of cold water in the frig and try to have one at hand all the time. You will find you are drinking more if you use a straw (secret of the fast food industry).

Current long range goal is to get down to 150 pounds and get really strong so I can hike again. I have a plan to buy the many things I will need for my dream flyfishing trip and have laid out which ones I can buy at each 10 pound loss.

I hate the taste of our water so I drink the no calorie, no sodium flavored waters but make sure they go flat. I can't stand the carbonation. I drink a lot of herbal tea and often feel my bladder and kidneys have to have doubled in size since I started being healthier and started dieting. emoticon when I travel I not only have to make pain stops but lots of bathroom stops.

I drink a lot of water. I actually keep a bottle of water at my desk at work. Instead of going to the soda machine, I drink water. I also drink it when I'm home.

Crystal light came out with one that has no artificial sweetener in. It is a sport one. I just bought some and will be trying it this weekend.

Keep a glass beside the bathroom sink as well as the kitchen sink. Drank a glass of water every time you was your hands.

Me too. I thought that what it was supposed to be. I count it if it is water with lemon only too.
Diet or anything else is not water on the 8 cups per day.

I drink plain water and have a cup or bottle with me all the time. If I drink anything else it is extra and for taste. I only track plain water under my water content.

Technically, all liquids are counted int he total. I like to count my water only (sometimes flavored) but try to drink at least half plain water. It is an acquired taste.

Caffeine does dehydrate so limiting it is most healthy. I guess it is a matter of moderation and figuring out what works for you.

I could be thirsty but delay going to get a drink to finish something I was working on. So I have also found having the water with me helps to drink it. I like water but sometimes will go for sugar free flavored drinks or put some fresh fruit and water into a blender.

NO way for me on the decaf - that's what a cup of coffee is all about.... I do drink herbal teas though no caffeine. I have a BIG cup of water with me all of the time (once I'm done with my coffee). I carry a water bottle with me every place I go also. Drink a glass before you eat a meal, and I have one sitting on my night stand all night. I love water though so I don't have a problem with it.

Yes, I drink decaf too as I still like coffee sometimes, esp. if I am out at a restaurant. Otherwise even one cup of the real stuff makes me nervous, and if I had any after 12 noon could not sleep at night, even with black tea. However, cannot pass by the specialty coffee kiosk in the farmer's market when she has the maple coffee on as I am drawn to the smell. Special treat for me as I have cream and sugar with it too so cannot count that one as water for sure...

I am not sure any of the artificial sugar products are that healthy from what I have read on various health sites. I am bad at remembering to drink my water so have started keeping a big 16 oz. glass of water at my desk in the den and another in the living room to sip while I am at the computer or reading or working on something or watching TV. If I fill them both up again and drink them later in the day I have had my minimum 8 glasses. If I see the water in front of me I realize I am thirsty and will want to drink the water. If I have to make the effort to go and get it I am less likely to get in all my water. I like to have some before meals as it fills me up a bit and then later after meals as it cuts the craving for some dessert. I sometimes add lemon and lime slices. Other times when I have my morning green tea(I like the ones with blueberry, or ginger etc) I also put the bag in a large glass of water, let it steep a while and can have it as a cold drink later to get in more water..

I drink water all day and night. I fill a water bottle with water from my brita. I sit at the computer with my water. I constantly refill it all day. I gave up pop so its easy for me. When I do my exercise at home it makes me drink more. Try to carry a water bottle and when you're thirsty drink water.

Each day I feel better than the day before. It's all about me

Actually you're right. Caffeine can actually dehydrate. So coffee wouldn't be "fair game" I don't think to count as water intake. I know if I'm wrong someone will jump in and correct me!!!

I use sugar free lemonade and drink 2 quarts a day. I really like lemonade. I also use Crystal Light flavor for individual bottled water. Sometimes just plain water is too boring. I use a straw to drink because it gives me a chance to take more than just a sip. Iced tea with splenda or some such is also good. And I have 3 cups of coffee in the a.m. which I also count, and drink 8 oz of diet cranberry juice with breakfast. Last but not least, when the weather is warmer, sugar free popsicles work lovely and 2 of them counts as 8 oz of liquid.
