Hi Ladies! Thanks for reviving this thread.
Have been putting hay into the barn, gardening and walking. Lots of fitness minutes! I started doing Tai Chi watching videos on You Tube as a change. I think it's good to slow down and it helps the balance.

Good for you with the walking! I'm still doing indoor walking, 2-3 miles with Leslie. Today was 4 of the 10-minute Walk Blasters, one with 5# hand weights for upper body strength. Looking forward to hanging laundry outside tomorrow as it's supposed to be sunny and much warmer. Will have to wear mud boots to the clothesline, though. emoticon

a couple short rides this week...can't say I burned any calories from the ride..walking while lunging may have burned a few...I had a 3 mile walk and a 2 mile walk outside and a 4 mile with Leslie and today a 2 mile with weights with Leslie.

Had another 2 hours of pickleball today. At least close to that. It started out really crowded, but then some people went outside and then others left, so there weren't very many there for most of the day. When I got home I fell asleep for quite a while, then went out and planted my hen and chicks, which took around a half hour or 45 minutes. Then came in and started trying to get some things cleaned up in the kitchen -- mostly with a couple pots and the slow cooker.

Mona, I don't think I could resist the pizza either. They have a vegetable pizza at Papa Murphy's here that I really like. Has a white sauce instead of tomato, and a variety of veggies. Since I don't usually like the veggies, that was a good way for me to get them.

I'm so ready for summer activities! Gardening and riding, especially.
Above freezing today, very windy and a little occasional sun. Feels very cold! Did 2 miles with Leslie this morning, with resistance bands for upper body.

Just 2 miles with Leslie this morning.
Worked all day at volunteer job and really tired after 7 hrs. Not used to it. Then, they ordered pizza for lunch and it smelled so good had to have some. Not good for weight loss, but tasted wonderful. I did take the one with the most veggies. emoticon
Was snowing quite hard this morning, but the sun came out after lunch and the new snow melted. But still have piles of old stuff left -- Come on, Spring!

Did my 2 hours pickleball yesterday. It's a fun game, but it can really get you moving and burn calories. Just wish it would get some of the fat off of me.

Three miles with Leslie this morning, then squats with hand weights, plus stretching of course.
Had planned to go out and curry some of the winter hair off the horses, but its barely above freezing and the winds are gale-force. Not good weather to brush hairy horses! emoticon

Doing a lot of walking, mostly outside but did do one with Leslie this week. Nothing today...but I have 8000 steps on my step counter....so still not bad.

It froze again last night, but the snow is receding. Had to pull the mulch off my daffodils as they were pushing it up and not growing through it. Also found early snow drops and scilla blooming, plus bleeding heart and columbine plants are coming up. Gardening soon, I hope, at least up by the house.
3 miles with Leslie yesterday. Nothing so far today except housework. Husband to ER from 1-4 AM. He's feeling OK now, but we're both pretty tired.

Have just been doing 2-3 miles with Leslie each day, sometimes with weights or resistance bands. We've still got lots of snow, but it's gone down the past few days since it's been in the 50 degree (F) range and not freezing every night. Where there's no snow, there is mud. No yard work yet, but should motivate myself to get to walking down the road now that the shoulders are clear. So envious of the gardening!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I don't know when I posted last bit I've been walking pretty steady, a long one yesterday and today...over 4 miles each day. The weather is nice but still chilly, lunged the mare three or four times, riding soon!

I hear you about the knees! Have to pamper mine a bit too, and wear light support when working out.
Saturday did "Walk and Kick" with Leslie

Our weather is similar to yours but as lot less extreme..I can see my riding ring emerging! Still walking each day but only 2 miles. It's hard going in the snow and now done ice and water...my knees have been a bit sore so I'm not pushing myself.

Yesterday was 2 miles with Leslie using hand weights. Today was a rest day as I've been feeling way under the weather since yesterday afternoon. 40 Degrees F and raining for over 24 hours, barometric pressure tanking. Fog so thick it looks like heavy smoke. Yukky! Snow has gone down over 50% but there's still a lot left.

Got our 3 miles in the park yesterday and we are going again this afternoon. Yesterday we took a thermos of tea and sat on a bench by the lake for a bit, the snow is melting, it's very mild today.

You two do way more interesting stuff than I do!
Saturday - 3 miles with Leslie, using resistance bands for upper body
Sunday, shoveled snow so we could get to Church! Stretching afterwards of course.
Monday - 3 Miles with Leslie, using 3 & 5 pound hand weights, plus about a half hour of moving hay bales and throwing them from the mow into the customer's truck.
Today, Tuesday - 3 fast miles with Leslie, including (careful!) boosts.

This morning was 5 of the 10-minute Walk Blasters. I really like this DVD - it has 10 10-minute sessions you can mix and match, or pick a pre-selected workout. Lots of variety.
It's above 0 today. Yeah!!

2 - 2 1/4 hours pickleball today. That after a half hour + working to get the ice off the windshield so I could get there. Even used windshield ice melt that didn't do much, so I broke one scraper. Boy, did I get worn out today.

I hear you about the arthritis! My view is that it's necessary to keep moving so that I still can, even though it hurts. Sometimes a lot. Hang in there.

Beautiful, sunny day. Driving into town for my volunteer job, I was really struck how beautiful it is with all the new snow. Several other people said the same thing. Everyone is getting a bit tired of the shoveling, though, and our local kids have had 9 or 10 snow days off school this year that they have to make up.
Only 2 miles with Leslie this morning. Does carrying a laptop and manuals up and down stairs count? emoticon

Crazy winds here which make it way too cold for walking outside, horses are only out a few hours at a time as they have no shelter. At least the sun is shining today and the snow is frozen so it can't blow around!


5 mile work out with Leslie , interval work with weights and bands.

Monday I did 3 advanced miles with Leslie, including boosts. Wrong move!
Yesterday and today (Tuesday) have done chair workouts that are on Spark People. They are really a workout for me, even though I'm in a chair. Some aerobic and some strength training. Hoping knee feels better soon!

There is rest time during the pickleball. I was there from just after 8 until 11:30. Often get more play than that if it isn't crowded. I would like to find more places to play. Most of the places that have that level play (beginner/intermedia) seem to have it at the same time as the rec center I play at now.

45 minutes on snow shoes yesterday, 3 miles with Leslie this am...wieghts on one mile .Our snow only lasted 2 days..back to rain ...

That's a LOT of pickleball. Don't think my knees could hold up to that.
This morning was just 2 miles with Leslie, plus stretches beyond what she does. Sub 0 temps again but the sun is shining so far this morning.

Good for you on the snow shoeing. That's a really great workout!
Today was 3 "Really Big" miles with Leslie, including 1 with resistance bands.
Weather was -4 (F) this morning, but sun is shining beautifully on the fresh snow.

Did manage to get out on snow shoes - totally fun, even though I didn't go too long. Also got in some snow shoveling. emoticon
Today was the 2 mile Walk & Kick with Leslie, then 1 Power Mile with 5# hand weights.

We've had about 24 inches of snow the past week or so. But at least the temps are approaching the freezing mark (from below!) and the sun shining some.

2 miles on Monday and Tuesday in the park, 3 - 1 mile walks with Leslie today. May get to snow shoe tomorrow,we got about 8" today, the most we've had all winter. emoticon

Still doing 2-3 miles with Leslie each morning. Today was again 2 miles with resistance bands.
Getting still more snow, but the temps have moderated (after -25 (F) on Friday night. May go out on snow shoes tomorrow if these milder temps hold. :-)

Three miles with Leslie this morning, including resistance bands.
We were at about -10 (F) this morning with VERY high winds and a foot of new snow blowing around. Won't be snow shoeing in this for sure. Skin can freeze in 5 minutes. BRRRRR
Our horses have been huddling in the loafing barn, eating as much hay as they want to keep warm.

We managed another walk today. About 2 miles. No percipatation today but freezing rain tonight and tomorrow do the say. The horses are barely moving there is something I even.

We went from freezing rain to several inches of snow with more coming. Winter has definitely been strange! At least it warmed up to 25 degrees (F) today.
Have been doing 2 - 3 miles with Leslie Sansone each morning with stretches. Today was 2 miles, with resistance bands for upper body strength.

2 hours is a lot of activity...good for you! I did a long walk , about 1 hour..forgot to time myself today. Our trail is getting very slippery and there is freezing rain coming so not sure I'll be able to go again for awhile.

Tues: 3 Miles with Leslie and hand weights
Wed: 3 Miles with Leslie
Thurs: 2 1/5 miles, resistance bands
Today: Only 1 "Really Big" mile - had to be somewhere early and didn't get up early enough to get in more.
"Heat wave" today, woke to only -10 degrees, rather then the -30 or -32 we've been having.

3 mile walk and firm with Leslie Sansone....edited to add a 2 mile walk in the park. It is a cold day but we strapped on cleats and bundled up.

We had -18 overnight and even though the sun is shining beautifully did not get out of single digits above 0. Not a lot of snow, but lots of ice.

No classes this morning so had time for the total body Walk Blaster routine -- 5 10-minute sessions including warm up and cool down. I used 5# hand weights for upper body blast and for squats and lunges in lower body.
Snowing today over the ice and 14 degrees (F).

Got up early enough to do 3 - 10 minute Walk Blaster segments, plus warm up, cool down and stretching. Also took a walk around the building (inside) during breaks from classes.
