Thanks everyone! I'm not "all in" with the ETL plan yet as my hubby loves to keep junk around and I don't have the will power to say "no" all of the time. I'm trying to fill up on veggies and fruit (that is all I bring to work now as a snack). I'm a work in progress but I'm certainly not going to quit and I'm excited to see how much weight I can drop being on this plan as well as seeing how healthy I can become.

Also, that for giving me a time frame about detox. Sounds like a few weeks of fun ahead.

when you start off on ETL you will have some detox that will last around two weeks (somewhere around there) which is normal.

Lets face if you have been eating junk/processed/animal produce for many years then you switch to eating fruits and veggies you are going to feel a change and when you will get used to the new diet and all will be normal.

make sure you also drink water, too

Someone doing research in this field told me that our body/ digestive tract adjusts to process whatever is our normal diet. If we make some changes to that diet, then it takes a while for the body adapt to our new diet and during that time we may have some issues. Hope this makes sense

I don't think it is just the fiber, I think it is also the water in the food. In answer to your question it hits me by the end of the first day to the morning of the second & doesn't stop until I go off program.

What were you eating before. I don't want to sound like a broken record, I'm not obsessed, but could you have fructose/sugar issues, something called FODMAP? It may not be fruits and vegetables per se, but which ones. I can eat bananas, but not apples. I can eat corn but not peas. I happened to be eating all the "wrong" ones this autumn.

You might want to look back over what you ate recently. If your foods are not on the list, then I would say that your body is adjusting to higher fiber content that you were not accustomed to before. Then you should be okay before too long.

Glad you brought this up ... I've been wondering something myself but with a different slant. So - has anybody experienced being 'abnormal' - as in I don't understand WHY eating all this fiber I would be having problems and when I went off the plan during Holidays I was okay. It seems my body is reacting the opposite!

When you were starting this program, did you have any "body/bathroom adjustments"? I don't mean to give TMI but it feels like I have to make a BM more often. I know with the increase of fiber, there's a good chance of that but I really just started this program and ate nothing but fruits and veggies today. Does your body use the fiber that fast??

Again, sorry if its tmi!!
