I think that a lot of us no longer recognize when we are really hungry. Foe some they feel they are constantly hungry and for others, like you, they never really feel hungry.

In order to get back into a normal pattern of eating it is good to plan to eat 3 meals a day initially so that you start to learn a normal eating schedule.

Dr F says in the book that if you cant eat everything that you are supposed to then just do your best. I cant eat all the food especially in only 3 meals I have found that for me I do better to eat 4 times a day. Everyone is slightly different. Just do your best. emoticon

Hi Jo
I also get headaches if I do not eat enough. Maybe you are under eating. Certainly you should try to get at least a cup of beans each day. I also eat 1oz (weighed) of raw nuts usually walnuts and almonds each day.

Hope you get rid of those pesky headaches soon

I could not do this plan if it were not for the beans! I eat a minimum of a cup a day and more often than not I eat more. It is what 'fills' me. If I just ate the veggies and fruits I'd feel like I'm starving - ha!

I am almost finished with my six week challenge and I have found most 'any' food I eat off plan I end up physically feeling less than good - and sometimes ill.

Other than that the only detox I experienced is going off caffeine which I did very very slowly so did not have headaches. I've gone off caffeine in the past in not so 'kind' ways and really had withdrawal and headaches.

I'm really bad about getting my beans for the protein. Headaches can also be a result of too little protein so I added some powder to my fruit/veggie smoothis this morning and plan on increasing my water intake. Hopefully that fixes it!

Often the headaches are caffeine withdrawal and this generally passes after a few days. Another reason that I get headaches is dehydration - so make sure that you get plenty of water. Plus if you let yourself get too hungry, your blood sugar drops and this gives me a headache.

I definitely do not feel good if I eat too far off the plan. None of us are perfect and I find that if I have a small amount of something not on plan then I am OK. But if I really blow it then I feel gross and I crave salad and fresh fruit.

I am on Day 36 of the 6 week plan (took a few days off over Christmas) and I am finding it easier now. A couple of things that have helped me are
1. I weigh out 1oz of raw nuts(usually walnuts & almonds for me) Then I have them in a small container with a lid sitting on the counter. I can nibble one or two with a piece of fruit as a snack or chop them up on a salad.
2. I also measure a cup of beans (usually chickpeas) each day and then I throw some on a salad or into soup. If I am having a meal like vegetarian chili (which I make and is full of lentils and beans) then I might not eat all of my measured cup. another way to get beans in is hummus.

well i sure have been having head ache lately, bathroom stuff and well yesterday I ate one piece of cheese pizza before my piano lessons and I had heart burn all during the morning lessons...I think the bad food and the good food are having a war and I'm losing

What symptoms of detox have you experienced when you were getting rid of the junk? I've been having a lot of headaches and I actually have a headache disease (I see my doc next month) but was wondering if anyone else had a lot of headaches as they were teaching their bodies how to eat?

I've also have been tired as I have not been adding as many beans to my diet as I should (I'm getting a maybe a cup per week, not per day. I must remedy this). I am also feeling sick when I eat something that I shouldn't such as a donut that I had this morning.

I just finished one full week of ETL and I didn't eat completely clean (example: the donut and a few Hershey Kisses).
