My goal is to lose 93 lbs this year. My final goal is 135 lbs by my birthday (June 6) of 2011, so that works out to 1.8 lbs per week.

1.8 lbs per week doesn't sound so bad, but 93 lbs in one year sure does! So that's how I'm going to take it...one week at a time. One day at a time if I need to.

You should just be able to open your nutrtion tracker, click the "Add a Food" button. Type Sushi in the box and click search. You'll get lots of hits!

Hello Team, I am new to the group and I can't figure out how to add food to my Nutrition tracker that isn't listed. Example today I had 6 pieces of sushi for lunch and I want to account for it in my calorie, but I can't figure it out....can you experts help me please....thanks for all your motivational comments I love sparkpeople... emoticon

I have a hard time keeping written records when I'm travelling as well - especially if I have spotty wifi connections.

BUT - being self-aware and making healthy decisions is more than half the battle in my book!

Well, my first few work trips were an improvement over last year, but I still have a long way to go. The first one was a two week trip back to the States. I went shopping my first day in and had lots of veges and fruit on hand. Practiced moderation at restaurants and with alcohol. However, I didn't work out at all and didn't log anything. I had a two-day event here in Germany last weekend and it was more of the same - better judgment, but no written accountability. It's a process, right? Next month, I have a few opportunities for improvement!

My goal for 2010 is to reach goal!
I've been stalled out for a couple of months and I'm looking forward to getting below 155.
I'm also going to work on getting more regular sleep and doing more fun active things outside the house and the gym.

Update:
Not yet under 155, but I've been dealing with hip pain and haven't been working out as much. So far, I've been to the movie, to Red Hawk, and to a birthday party... 3 fun things in 3 weeks outside the house and gym. On track there!

My Goal for 2010 is to be under 200 lbs by Dec. 31. This is 111 pounds to away. I'll need to:
Get to the gym 5 times each week.
Log my food daily.
Drink my water.
Ask for help when I need it. (this is a hard one)
Blog at least once each week.
Participate in at least 2 discussion thread 5 days each week.

I love the idea of dropping 25 lbs. per quarter. This fits into my goal over getting rip of 100 lbs. in 2010.

My goals for 2010 are:
1. Live a healthier lifestyle
2. Eat healthy foods, no sugar (my weakness)
3. Drink 2 liters of water a day
4. Exercise at least 4 days a week
5. Join a team on Sparkpeople and log on everyday for motivation
6. Be able to go jogging by summer.
7. Walk the Cooper River Bridge Run in April with good friends and family
8. Lose 100 lbs by the end of the year
9. Keep a food journal and be honest about every bite that I eat. (I have to remind myself that every little bite counts because they add up.)

1. Stop taking 'breaks' from logging when I travel (I travel for work 1-2 weeks a month - I really need to be accountable to myself during those times)
2. Get active - work out 5 days a week, every week
3. Be under 200 by my birthday (5 pounds by Feb 3)
4. Have a healthy BMI by 2011

OK another year, another opportunity to complete this journey/battle of the bulge My goals for 2010 are as follows:
1. fitness 45 mins 5 d/wk
2. h20 8 cups min./day
3. journal 5 d/wk min
4. track food 5d/wk with success staying within nutritional limits daily

My goal is to lose 10% of my weight every 4 months. That means about 28 lbs in 4 months to start out with and then readjust when the 4 months is up for the next 10%.

o.k. i have been wanting to do this for quite some time and i never had much support so i need you guys o.k.

i also like the 25 per quarter it is a smaller number to look at making it more realistic to acheive. I have a wii fit and i like using it my starting weight is 253 so sometime in march i will be 228 and by june down to 203

Hello to all! I have been a member for a month, but have not ben active (my bad). I have been doing great the last 3 days. I am shooting for a 100 lost by this time next year. my short time goal is 10 a month. With any luck and a lot of hard work, I can lose 50-60 by May. My son will be graduating. My 2010 goal:
1. Be able to fit comfortably in the rides at Disney with my daughters this year.
2. I want to loose inches and try not to focus on pounds.

my goal for 2010 is to reach my goal weight. I plan on during that by continueing to do my workout dvds at home. and to keep using my bodybugg which tracks how many calories I burn a day and I plan to continue to use it for a while after I reach my goal for maintence.

My goal for 2010 is to get rid of a 100 pounds, I like the 25 pound pr. quarter idea.

To do this I will stop drinking soda, have only one day a week for candy, watch my food and get in some form of exercise 6 days a week.

My overall goal for 2010 is to lose 100 pounds. I like the idea of breaking it down into quarters! To do this I will focus on:
1. Tracking daily
2. Exercising at least 3 days/wk
3. being prepared with a menu and grocery list
4. Get water in daily

2010 Goals

Goal 1: Track my food intake.
Goal 2: Drink at least 10 glasses of water a day.
Goal 3: Build myself up to exercising 60 minutes three times a day.

Newbie checking in. :)

Goal #1: Lose 100 lbs by 1/1/2011
Goal #2: Track my food/calories
Goal #3: Get adequate water intake (I'm a big girl so I'm guessing I'll need more than eight 8oz glasses)
Goal #4: Get to the gym at least 4-5 times a week (if I do that, the company I work for reimburses me for the monthly cost!) and play sports/fitness games on the Wii at least 2 times a week
Goal #5: Up my intake of fresh fruits and veggies (and grow my own if possible)
Goal #6: Replace refined white sugar and starches with whole grains and cane juice crystals (purer form of cane sugar - healthier!). I'd like to grind my own wheat and make my own bread this new year.
Goal #7: By 6/1/10 I want to be taking the 3 flights of stairs up to my floor at work instead of taking the elevator.

1. loose 1-2 pounds a week.

3. Don't give up when the weight doesn't drop off or when I grow tired of this process.

- exercise regularly: Cardio at least 4 times a week
- Finish the 10K in March (did my first 8K in November and ACTUALLY Finished it)
- eat plenty of veggies and fruits everyday (have such a hard time doing that)
- stop saying negative things about my body

this is really hard because it means that i actually have to think about it and to see my goals typed up like this it means it needs to be done so here it is the moment of truth

1. get pain under control
2. be active at least once a day for 30 min to start
3. not be so crital of my self.
4. dont be so focused on the numbers
5. I also need to eat on a regular basis
6. eat good stuff every day
7. beat the depression once and for all

2. Release and lose at least 80 lbs.
3. Pray, meditate, and exercise every day.
4. Be more financially responsible..frivolities
allowed when I choose to reward myself.

My goal is to loose the last 20lbs and get to my goal weight. I will get there by

- I will eat within range (1200-1550 calories)
- I will continue drinking my water
- I will exercise daily
- I will run a 5K run on January 17th
- I will run a 10k run in the spring
- I will train for and complete a Half Marathon in the fall.

My goal for this year is to focus more on eating foods to get healthy so that I am better able to work at the weight loss.Also to stick with it and not give up.This is my 3rd attempt at using this website.I will be turning 40 in July 2011,I hope to have all 150 lbs gone!!!

Good Morning,
Well, I am turning the wheel and getting back on the right road. I can't believe 2010 is here already. This is the year that my son graduates high school. He turned 18 and will be going to college this fall. I need for a healthy lifestyle to be a big part of this changing year. I also need a buddy to be accountable to and with. I have over 100 pounds to lose and have learned one thing, this is not a challenge to be tackled alone.

My plan is to take weight off in factors of 10. Ten pounds at a time is manageable and far easier to stay motivated when I don't look at the over all total number- which is far more frustrating.

So the journey to the 260's begins.

20 lbs a month is alot!! You may be able to do that for awhile but dont kill yourself trying to take the weight off. :) I have faith in you that you will get it done. emoticon

my plan is to track my diet along with walking, exercise ball and stationary biking. When summer comes we bike 12 to 30 miles a trip! This summer was a drag pulling my 2yo dd in the wagon....next summer maybe 7yo ds can go on his own and hubs can pull her!! Either way I'm going to be more up to it that I was this summer! UGH! :)

my goals for 2010 is getting back in the aswing of things plus i'm gonn try to lose at 1-2 pounds a WEEK till i get my weight loss down and new exercise routrine started then too every 6 weeks it will be changed up

My plan this year is to lose 25 pounds per quarter. That gives me one year to drop 100 pounds. I know that is a steep goal in some ways but it is definitely achievable and I need to light a fire under my butt(which is growing by the way).
